Sage Steak Loft in San Juan

We were looking for a rooftop and we accidentally found this spot. Alexis the manager made our night so nice, he was so professional and nice, we didn’t need the menu because he knew what we want. Traveling a lot , never had such an amazing experience. We felt as we are the VIP here. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Puerto Rico. Make sure you ask for Alexis you will be taken care of.

Drinks are great. Tapas are okay. Make sure that you book the restaurant if you want to have dinner. Rooftop is for tapas only.

DEFINITELY enjoyed this visit!!!My auntie and I just lucked up on it and were so grateful that we did!!We found it by day and came back to enjoy it by night. Reservations are required! Reserve on open table app.Do not just visit the restaurant!! Visit the upstairs bar as well!!!!

Staff very attentive. Beet ravioli delicious, house salad very fresh, unique, wonderful textures. Crème brûlée just as it should be, divine! Great cocktails!

My main meal was the lamb burger and it was absolutely great. I had some of my parters meals as well which included an Angus slider, and Mafaldine Pasta. Another great meal in PR. All the food I had, had that fresh taste to it like all the other food I had in PR. If you want a fancy spot to eat with a beautiful view of the sea with an awesome decor and great service, then this spot will not let you down.

Well, first of all I will like to say my food was great. Here’s why the one star. We came to Condado for a vacation, we drove by This place and loved the name. We went in to eat yesterday April 22 2022. As soon as we walked in the employees ran away. They judge us by our vacation clothes. I’m talking, laughing in our face, bickering with each other about us. They offended and treated us very badly. My food came out great! My friends in the other hand, she ordered a Steak medium rare. That steak was over well done. She described it to me as dog food. I tried it, it was disgusting. We informed our waiter, Gabriel. He listened and walked away. He didn’t offer to fix it, nothing. Just walked away, so I decided to be extremely petty about this situation. I treated them extremely kindly and tipped this horrible disrespectful waiter that made us feel unwelcomed and out of place. Kill them with kindness I say. Horrible place. -100/10. Will NOT RECOMMEND. Horrible service, no attention at all to the costumer.

The most delicious Tomahawk I’ve ever had!Beautiful environment, loved the decoration and architecture. The staff were so nice and they had a beautiful Frank Sinatra playlist for us.

I was in PR for my birthday celebration and decided to come here because of the decor. I liked Restaurant and food was delicious. Staff was amazing. But it confused me a little because most pictures of the place is from a rooftop that you don’t have access by making a reservation at the restaurant.

Great food great service!

Very overrated and very overpriced. Basically your just paying for the view that’s all. Anything from Maria Pagán is just pure advertising and not really the best Puerto Rico has to offer. Horrible bartender. Quality of the food is horrible especially the steak. I order a rib eye l (I was on a date and she wanted this placeand oh boy I was about freak out about not only the price l, but the fact they gave a a freaking blob of fat. Menu is not impressive nor innovative. Not the quality overall is “the best”. Valet is just parking your car in the sidewalk. I could just park it myself thanks.

Limited menu but extremely good food!

I have to be honest , I expected more than I got, staff was super nice, food I was highly disappointed in, I ordered a filet mignon and it looked like a piece of chuck beef, ordered well done and was bleeding in middle, steak comes with no side at all, for what I paid, I could have gotten 2 steak dinner back home with sides.. ambience is nice..I could go on about this place but Id rather not, all I can say is Im disappointed..

Sage unfortunately has become a rip off. Few PR residents who know good San Juan steakhouses - eg, Rare 125 in Miramar, Mortons at the Caribe Hilton - would pay $62 for an 8 oz filet mignon at this place, which might explain why it was half-empty on a Saturday night. My wife and I ended up there recently because we were unaware of the price increases since our last visit and Rare 125 and Mortons were booked. On top of the price gouging, my wifes steak came out rare rather than medium. When she showed our waiter that the middle of the steak was still bleeding, his response was, "That looks medium to me!" - not exactly the service one expects when paying $62 for the filet. I had to call another waiter and ask him to take the steak and cook it further. He brought it back three minutes later, and the steak looked about the same. We decided to finish our meal and leave. Oh, and the price of the special pasta appetizer thats not on the menu?  Its $42 for two raviolos. Add to the experience paying $20 for valet parking and having to wait 15 minutes to get the car, even though there was absolutely no line at the valet.

First and foremost, I appreciate the hospitality of everyone in this country for asking about allergies. That being said, this place asked if I had allergies, and then made doubly sure not to give us any dish that had pork. Unbeknownst to us, they proceeded to give us a salad which had pork pieces (bits of prosciuttoeven though they mentioned between 2 waiters that they would remove any pork in the salad. Only 3/4ths of the way through the salad did we notice because of how small the pieces were were (the size of grains of rice).They did apologize and offer to get me allergy medication, but at the end of dinner, they charged us for the salad and the manager didn’t speak with us. The waiters were apologetic, but this could have killed me. We were on high alert the rest of the night after taking emergency medication for the allergy. Disappointing and as a doctor myself, dangerous / life threatening.

Good food but a little expensive for what they offered.

Rooftop area is beautiful. Drinks and appetizers were great, but if I spend 500 bucks on a meal it better be on point. The food was cold when it arrived—cold fries, warm scallops and risotto and my order was wrong. The buratta was great, but chilled red wine? C’mon guys. Service was decent.

The restaurant and its ambiance is breathtaking. Service was terrific as well. We’ve been before. Nevertheless, this time around both our steaks were not cooked to the desired temperature ordered which was medium and they came out almost well done. For the inconvenience they gave us two free drinks and a dessert. Appetizers and sides were incredibly delicious.

Best restaurant in the area!Visiting san juan for the first time, been in multiple restaurants since I love trying new food, this is highly recommended!!Great service from all stuff, great atmosphere beautiful designed hotel the rooftop with sea view and breeze just perfect!And the food hand made fresh and well made.Loved every minute!

Had my engagement celebration dinner here and I don’t have enough positive things to say about the staff, food, service, attention to detail, and overall quality! 10 stars! Food was fine. Parking at the hotel took 30 minutes and cost $20. Parking attendant was disrespectful.

One of the best NY strip steaks Ive ever had. Perfectly seasoned, cooked to a medium finish. Perfecto

We loved our first meal here! Food was terrific and great service! Sage handled the Covid situation admirably. We look forward to going back soon and seeing what its like when things settle back down!

The restaurant was recommended to us by a local so it was more disappointing the steak wasnt the tastiest one weve had since being here for the past week. It wasnt bad but it came out undercooked and then when sent back, you guessed it, it came a bit overcooked. Didnt have a real flavor to it like other restaurants we ate at but overall, the ambiance was nice, the staff friendly.

They have no clue on how to cook properly a steak.

Went for my birthday with my boyfriend and best friend. We have been in many steak houses outside of PR and this has been one of the best. Will be going back!

Being there more than 4 times and food is excellent.

Although we made a reservation when we arrived there was no record of it but the guys were kind enough to put a table together for us (4despite the place being pretty limited.Everything was great tasting and with an excellent presentation although the sizes were pretty small, so if you like large plates this is not your place but if you want a cozy, gourmet food restaurant, Sage is a pretty good option.

Visited this restaurant about a week ago with my husband on a week day late afternoon. Quite disappointed with the food, the place was beautifully decorated. Our meat was ordered well done but it was black on the outside practically burnt and very dry, we noticed the neighboring tables meat the same way, black! I would say weve been to quite significant share of restaurants and understand that when ordering a well done meat doesnt compare to what we were served. My husbands risotto was served room temperature and tasted really salty. Expected a better experience at this restaurant!

Dont know about the food-but apparently you need a reservation. Went there twice- June and December and without a reservation they said they could not accommadate us. Not even asked to put us in a wait list .I would definitely recommend you get a reservation!!

Gorgeous space with amazing food!

Great ExperienceIf your even in this city and want a good steak this as great place. The service was great.This is a cozy little restaurant on the ground floor of a boutique hotel. The rooftop bar is a great place to hang out after dinner.

Lets get the bad out of the way:1. The valet parking ($15is to park your car on the street (sidewalk).2. The bartender are not properly trained in pouring beer... incredible for the price!3. I received an uncooked steak that was fridge cold in the inside. Even the waitress was surprised. For the cost of the steak that shouldnt happen ever!4. One shared bathroom on the main floor.5. Pricey for what you get.The good things:1. The environment was awesome, specifically the top floor with view to the bay.2. The decorations were very detailed.3. Service from the staff was great!The 3 good things compensated for me not to rated lower.

Came here with a group of 13 for a bachelor party and had the private room. Great food and even better service! Princess was an awesome server, as she was very professional and knowledgeable of the menu. A bunch of us ordered steaks to share, while I had the red snapper (fish of the day). Delicious! Only small issue was that one of the steaks was a little undercooked (medium-rare came out pretty rare), so I think that when ordering, make sure you are specific with the temperature and color you want. That said, I highly recommend Sage Steak, and will be back next time Im in San Juan.

Excellent steak and service.

Deliciously stake. The most recommended is the tomahawk steak and def dont ruin it with more than medium rare. Loved their house bread and crab cake too.

Amazing food! The mashed potatoes served with the fish of the day was one of the best Ive ever had. Great service too.

Came with a large group (14and they setup a great private room for us. Prices are a bit as steep compared to other places in the area, but the steak was fantastic steak and the service was great.
