Saffrron Express in Darwin

The food was pretty expensive when you look at the quantity you get. Also the beef was very chewy and not what you expect in a curry. The naan bread was thick and tasted as if it wasnt well baked. Then the butter chicken, this didnt taste like the real butter chicken. Tasted more like tomato soup than butter chicken. We were very disappointed with this meal. Next time well order from the Indian Curry Paradise again(if only they were open at Sundays).

Public holiday surcharge rates on regular days???!! Completely over priced. Why are the roti is 7.50 for 5 triangles in a small container??!! If we are paying this much why are the portions smaller than standard dinner plate sizes? RUDE staff when asking to take items off orders and told it cannot be done?? Hey Dahl is the place to go for curry people!!!!

Wow 👌 best take away ever. Food was so delicious, amazing 👏 and well present. 10 out of 10 thank you. I recommend this restaurant for anyone you will not regret.

Too salt and taste was booring

Personally I really enjoyed the Parap Saffron food quality.I got all excited when I moved away but closer to the express however was quite disappointed. Ordered a fried rice that was all smushy and almost like mashed rice. Later ordered a chilli chicken and was super upset at the oily, unnecessarily spicy, soggy chicken.I will be staying clear of the express, but I’m willing to drive the extra 15mins to the Parap branch for better quality food.

Updating review. Pity the $59 tasting pack price is misleading - everything costs extra. Its not $59, its heaps more if you order anything other than one or two basic dishes.

Ordered dinner and didnt receive my order and the guy told me it was delivered. Delivery was thru saffron and not any other delivery service. Delivery address is correct but contact no was wrong. Said they had it delivered and probably to someone else because contact no was wrong. How can they deliver it wrong when the address is right. I tried calling the number so i can get my food from whoever they delivered it to but the number was not even valid. So where did they deliver my food? I am pregnant and just want my dinner. And they cannot do any thing to help me, no empathy at all. If i didnt get mad, they wouldnt even offer me a refund. Seriously.

Ordered food at 6.40pm they said all good would be delivered within the hour now gets a message at 8.00pm telling us they have canceled the order as unable to prep really 1hour and 20mins later Not Recommend for depending on food delivery service Very Poor

Just got a $26 Chilly Chicken Curry. Uncooked Red Chilly Powder thrown on top of a total tasteless curry that tasted more like the Overflowing Red Food Color. Felt like sending it to Selvam’s house. You can fool some people some time but not all people - ALL THE TIME

Great curries, friendly and helpful staff

I ordered online & picked up. They forgot my mini ratha so I rang to let them know. They delivered me a large ratha and complimentary papadums witching 20mins. Wow don’t get that kind of service much anymore. Food was delicious I’ll definitely be going back & recommending

First gave us foul breads and when we complained about it the front girl became so rude and told us “thats how they smell and taste if you have ever had them”

Ordered dinner online for the very 1st time. Delivery was late by 1 hour. I had to call them 4 times to deliver food, every time they made excuses. Finally food arrived to eat Poor quality of naans, salty curries. I see there are 5 stars in reviews probably they didn’t experienced the real authentic taste of Indian food. There are few other better Indian restaurants with better food quality...

Accessible by car, Saffron Express is a small clean premises. Better to pre- order take away. Our food took 25 minutes to prepare. The one portion lamb curry comes with rice ($13is similar to an airplane meal portion. The dish was tasty, but not filling. The 17$ two curries with rice offers Sam portion of meat. Be warned not to change the rice to a roti because that will be less and u will not be full. Eona.

Great Indian restaurant in Darwin, especially for ease of ordering and payment online. Cheaper options are provided, so these incredible flavours are available to everyone. The food is always delicious, complex flavours and beautifully prepared. Good to deal with, just a good reliable restaurant.

I have ordered 170$ food on 31st march.The chicken 65 was dry and in that got only 6 small dry pieces with no flavor.and butter nans were like stones..chilli chicken was terrible..

Absolutely divine - as ever. Im not ashamed to say that Saffrron is now an almost staple part of my familys diet.😊I would definitely recommend the tasting packs which are a great price and good if you dont just want one meal.Saffrron Express is also environmentally friendly both with a 10% discount on BYO containers and environmentally friendly packaging. Its really impressive. ♥️

Love Saffrron its the best! Punjabi lamb cutlets are a must try! Delicious.

We had to wait for an hour to be given doughy undercooked naan bread. The curries were stodgy, salty and we wont be back.

Saffron express is a little gem of an Indian restaurant/takeaway hidden in the suburb of Alawa. The food is absolutely first class and authentic. You are able to dine in with limited inside and outside seating if you wish but it looks to be geared more to the takeaway market. We have taken away many times from this shop and have never been disappointed. They also offer a delivery service. If you enjoy good authentic Indian food with all the extras, then this is highly recommended.

Top quality food!!!! I took a star off because it is restaurant price for take away service. But I am still willing to go back again and again because its probably the best quality food in the Casuarina area.
