Safari Edventure - Non-profit organisation in Country Walk, United States
Great experience and edventure. Animals are so sweet and interactive! Guided tour is very informative and hands on. The nicest white bird said “I love you” on my way out! 💗
This is a horrible place to take your children ! It stinks , the pets look like stray animals . Rats were running around . The horses look like they had a disease their skin was VERYYY NASTYYY! They had critters crawling on them and they was shivering. All the animals looked mild nutrition like they don’t eat . It was kid toys in the animal cages and plus there was not many animals to even see
A lovely adventure, you can pet a big wolf, a sloth and you can hold a crocodile, we a very nice time...
This was such a waste of time and money. Instead of a nice day out, I ended up feeling sad and with no desire to ever go to a zoo or an animal encounter place. First off, the place is poorly maintained. Overgrown lawn, trash in different places and the smell is just horrible. However, the most upsetting part was the fact that they do not take good care of the animals. When they see you, they immediately run to you for food and the cages where they are, are either too small or too dirty. Some of the animals look sick and very sad. I would not recommend this place at all. Its just sad.
I have mixed feeling about this place , on the website says they are rescued animal , rehabilitating or mistreated. But they the whole place needs more maintenance, we paid a few dollars to walk around for a bit and they also have a few boxes all around the safari for donations , the place has a lot potential and I hope they are doing the right thing and investing whatever money they get on improving this location and helping the animals , some cages are really small but again I’m not sure how much it cost to maintain this place since it a non profit . The animals need love . It was nice to see them and pet some of them .
Excellent learning and nature preservation reserve that focuses on the local ecology while stressing the ability and importance of mankind and nature living in harmony. There are countless wonderful animals that you can interact with while being able to hold or touch many of them. In the process you learn about their natural abilities and how they fit into the ecosystem. We were able to hold a huge snake for a family photo as well as pet wolves and feed pigs with baby bottles of milk. This is truly a hands-on one of a kind experience that is perfect for anyone of any age. Hopefully more parts of the country will follow suit.
This place either needs more funding or needs to be closed down. The enclosures were picked fences that werent kept and were too small for the animals. The types of animals that were kept here were under clear distress exhibiting stressed behaviors. Raccoons were pacing back and forth, the birds were picking at their plumage, the crocs had no dry land or enough space to move and were kept in small kiddie size tubs with no access to sunlight. In one of the enclosure there was a dead possum. Not to mention on a hot day most of the animals were dehydrated with no access to water. The only animals that seem to be fine and kept were the goats that escaped a couple times out of their enclosures. If youre a true animal lover youll be heartbroken to see animals like this. This isnt a rehabilitation center nor a zoo. Please someone who can actually act as a sanctuary needs to take these animals for proper care.
I had such a great time being here! Interacting with wildlife and learning about them. My favorite animals there are hands downs the wolves! The best part is that youre able to go in the cage and pet them. The animals there are rescues and they seem to be well taken care of. The staff is extremely friendly and passionate about the animals.
A lovely little place with kind people an cute critters! The hands-on experiences are great and Im always happy to visit knowing I get to contribute to the non-profits cause AND have a good time. Please, definitely visit if youre around, more people need to know about this hidden little treasure! 😍My personal favorite animal is the chatty and cuddly cockatoo. I just cant have enough of that silly bird! <3
Beautiful place to interact with different animals. The people that work there are amazing! I will totally recommend this place!
It is a nice place to bring the kids. The place is kind of small. but they have beautiful animals. They had one guy showing us around. You can hold the Python snake or the crocodile. Also you can pet a sloth and some wolfs. The kids loved. The location is very south for us who lives in Aventura. So after we went to the Fruit & Spices Park. Surround that area is very good to buy fresh market.
First time going and we loved it. Its a small family owned sanctuary dont expect a 5 star zoo type experience, you get a more close hands on experience here without the crowds so I choose this over the zoo any day. ❤ Full of shade, like youre walking into a farm/forest. Youre able to pet animals including wolves 🐺 and sloth 🦥 all for the entrance price. Staff is friendly. Didnt see any food for sell there only like 2 vending machines so plan accordingly. Would definitely recomend!!
Wonderful experience, particularly being able to interact with Wolves. The wildlife display and the gentleman presenting was informative and entertaining. Overall highly recommend the experience for all ages. I hope one day a wonderful benefactor will present significant funds to the safari so they can upgrade the facilities to make the animals lives if even more pleasant.
We were looking for a sloth encounter and this place popped up. We were in the keys so it was an almost 2 hour drive to get to it. Worth it!! The sloth didn’t want to come out and play but we had a great time with the wolves. We loved it and will return when back in the area! It’s only $18 to enter and worth it.
Most of the animals appeared well taken care of. Very reasonably priced especially since one of the workers allowed us to pet Arthur the Sloth! We were able to get close to all of the animals and most of them liked the attention. Very fun place had a great time.
This is a neat fun alternative to a crowded zoo. It is essentially an animal shelter with exotics. Dont expect the cleanliness of a for profit zoo. But you will be able to be much closer to the animals. The animal show is very cool since they allow you to pet the animals and take a picture. The wolves tho are very impressive however I would add staff members to the experience when inside with the wolves since there could be 20 people to one employee w 4 wolves.
I enjoyed every minute at safari Edventure, I got to meet so many animals and even get to touch quite a few. It was a wonderful experience and I will return.
It was a fun time with the kids cant, they have a lot of animals, staff is nice. No complaints this is not a place for plastic fake high class people and its more for kids to enjoy and family quality time, some people shouldnt go to ruined the experience for everyone else.
Love this place, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about there animals, had and amazing time with my daughters, they love animals so much. Animals are very friendly, they have a variety of animals like wolfs, horses, goats, donkeys, sloth, alligators, skunk, turtles, birds, etc and price was very affordable. Is not a big zoo, could use some help upgrading the cages and the place a little bit because these people are truly trying to help these animals and u can see the love and passion they have for them, but overall the experience you will get and the show was perfect. Will definitely be coming back. And if anyone can show support, by visiting Im pretty sure we can expand and help these animals even more. Your kids will love coming to this place.
Small little safari. Parking is on the side of the street which I found odd, so there’s no assigned “parking” area. Staff is friendly and was a good size for a toddler to see. Stay for the show which lets you pet the animals. We asked about the kangaroo only to be told he died a couple months ago. 😕 The animals enclosures are small and the place could use some up keeping, but it looks like the animals are well taken care of. Probably will be the first and last time we were able to touch a real wolf!
Went there today for the first time. It’s been my dream to see wolves up and personal and I finally realized it today! The staff is nice and the animals are sweet. You can tell they are genuinely trying to help these animals while educating the public. They start off with an animal show, then they go to the sloth then the wolves. After that, you can roam around and see the goats, turtles, birds, fox and all the other animals. I will definitely visit again. Please, go and see for yourselves.
So much better $$ for the experience than a zoo, it’s like going friends place with a lot of cool animals. My daughter loved it.
LOVED our experience here!! Took about an hour to walk through -maybe a little more. Its a small place but SO worth the price to visit!!! We pet a skunk, a sloth, a blue tongued skink that was over a foot long & the timber wolves! Held a small alligator and a huge python! Then got to feed(& petthe donkeys, miniature horses, mule and goats. Saw a bunch of other critters in between. The lemurs were so fun to watch! What a wonderful place for people to interact and learn a bit about so many animals! They need more guests, to get more money, to improve/enlarge the enclosures for all the animals. WE LOVED THIS EXPERIENCE! Not too far off the turnpike.
This place is awesome! I would highly recommend you catch one of the shows as they let you hold and touch a bunch of cool animals. We even got to go into the wolf enclosure!!! Disclaimer: some of the animals are not in the most ideal cages or enclosures but by you coming here or donating this allows for them to better improve the living condition of all their animals. Plus a lot of their animals are rescues and what not so please ignore any negative reviews saying they are mistreating the animals. Would highly recommend this place for families or for a cool place to take friends or even your date!
Very awesome place to visit. Although the location isnt extremely big you are able to get friendly with the animals. There is a show that begins at 1130 AM. They let you hold an alligator, snake and other animals. There are some animals that are in small cages but overall its a great experience for the price. You also get you play with a sloth after the show.
At first, it might not look like much but this place is amazing. The staff loves these animals and it shows. The ITS tour is worth every penny. An experience like no other. I had the best time and learned so much from our tour guy.
They are cheaper than some Zoos but you get up close encounters for no extra fees. You can pet a sloth and even go in the enclosure with the wolves to pet them. The wolves were super friendly (like big dogs).
Small place but very cool for the kids. The experience they will have here will bring smiles and talks for a long time. Great alternative to the zoo and an up close and personal learning experience.
I am happy I visited. The staff were really nice and the animals were friendly especially the Timberwolfs. Pedro was extremely knowledgeable about all of the animals and led us on an awesome tour of the sanctuary. I was nervous about holding this tarantula type of spider but I got over it and it was the best thing I did. Great experience for sure and I’ll definitely be back!
Very fun place to visit. It is very interactive and educational. You can learn about various animals such as possums, snakes, sloths, etc. However, I do not think all of the enclosures are appropriate for the animals. Such as the rabbits in cages with wire bottoms. Aside from that it is a place worth visiting if you are in the area and your admission and donations can contribute to improving the place.
Excellent place to interact with the animals... small place, not a lot of variety of animals but just enough to have a good time. Going inside a cage with 3 wolfs is pretty crazy. Inside cage with a sloth , touching snake and Python was pretty cool. Friendly staff, recommend to take Off spray for the mosquitos.
Never going to recommend this place. Edventure, you guys should be ashamed and embarrassed to even call this an establishment. Most of the animals were not suited for their habitat. We found many dehydrated, starved, and even dead. The turtle in the first picture is dead and they dont even have the decency to pick him up. The foxes were starved and of malnutrition. They were given DOG FOOD. What type of fox eats dog food?? It was a very HOT day when I visited and the wolves only had one fan to cool them off and they were still in horrendous shape. The only thing that was OK about this place was the show that was given for the guests. The trainee was very knowledgable and funny, but it still didnt not make up for what we saw. I felt so bad for all these animals. There were literally poisonous plants at one point that you HAD to walk by. I hope they shut you down!
This place is pretty awesome. I got a private tour with my GF for our anniversary. A little on the expensive side if you ask me, but the experience was absolutely unique. Got to feed and pet animals right in their cages while everyone else looked on jealous. The staff was nice, the animals were cool, I like it.My only problem is the way the animals are kept. Some are obviously miserable to anyone walking by. Some cages are tiny, broken, or filthy, some animals are clearly distressed and unhappy, and the staff seem to not notice. All in all, good experience. I just wish the animals were also having a good time.
I surprised my boyfriend to go see the wolves. As soon as we got there we were able to go in the cage with them, pet them, and take pictures. Pedro was extremely nice. Im sure Pedro does this every day but his passion for animals made everything so much fun and enjoyable. They also held a show at a little amphitheater and the crowd was able to pet and take pictures with other animals. Seriously incredible, personal and so worth the price. Thank you guys! great job.
This is like a mini zoo, but, the great plus about it is a show at mid day were you can actually touch some of the rare animals they show and share some info about them, a nice experience for cuples and famylies with kids!!
Its a nonprofit but the conditions of the cages each animal is in, looks depressing as hell. They charge 15 bucks a person, but its so rundown and sad, they need to invest and giving animals a better life. Go and see for yourself
I loved this place ! I went during the spring and it was nice and quiet. I love that you actually get to interact with the animals. Got to hold a snake, and alligator, pet a sloth, wolf puppies and even got into a cage with adult wolves. It was awesome! I also like that they are respectful of the animals. Lots of interesting plants as well.
If I could give -5 review I would! Just left there, the place was dilapidated. The poor animals that are there pigs, wolves, donkeys, horses, goats, bunnies are housed in filthy pens and are filthy, bring hand wipes if you dare to touch The Kangaroo looked dead baking in the sun. If you go there make sure to pee first because the toilet is located in a shed which has rats running around qs for as encounters go, you can stand in the wolf den and get there dirty l, muddy hair all over you. We paid for a bottle to feed the piglets when we finally found a staff member she was annoyed I asked her for them. As we were looking at a porcupine, there was some noises coming from behind me, it was a RAT attacking a bird on top of a falling down enclosure . Too close to me and that was it. Spent a total of 20 mins in there.and left grossed out. When talking to the lady who collects your money she said the rats are here because it rains. Heads up tell people before they waste 38 bucks to get in. If you zoom in on one of the pictures you can see a rat!
This place over-delivered! There was a lot of hands on experience with animals. I learned how amazing opossum are. I loved the interactive show. The staff were super friendly.
Wow! What an amazing experience me and my fiance had at this place! Chris was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. Very interactive place, you are able to go inside a cage with wolves, pet sloths, chinchilla, tarantula, and hold an alligator. They do have a kangaroo but it is sick due to a bacterial infection from cats. :/ So you cannot hug it. But it doesnt matter it is still so sweet and you still have so many animals to interact with its awesome! So nice of them taking care of these animals, they actually take the wolves out to an open field to run around! Wow guys. Please go and support them you wont regret it promise. 👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Safari Adventure is a cool place. Very rustic and full of natural charm. A lot of hands-on animal encounters and very educational. The staff was super friendly and always willing to answer questions. My favorite part was how intimate and personal it felt. The wolf encounter was amazing, you actually get to interact with them and play with the wolf pups. Tips - bring bug spray and water, and if you plan on spending the day here, bring food, they have picnic tables.
This is honestly so much more than it seems. The place may be a little messy because of Irma but that doesn’t really factor into much. Everything is very natural which I guess it’s supposed to be since it’s a safari. We went here hoping to get the private tour for $55 but it turned out we had to let them know a little earlier so we just got regular admission which was just as good. The staff was very polite and friendly. Halfway there was a show of animals everyone got to see and touch, very well directed by the staff. The parrots were also a hit! They talked to the visitors and made the funniest sounds as well as screaming “come back” whenever a group left. I highly recommend coming here with family. We loved the place and I myself give it so much credit because the owners care for it themselves and all of it is funded purely by donations and admission. So keeping it in the shape it is, is great. 5 stars for sure
I have the best time with family my wife couldnt wait until she hold a sloth and boy did she had a supprise. My kids really enjoyed to feed the pigs and ponies I was impressed with the woofs The attention and support we have from the employees its top class.Well came back for sure.
Love this sanctuary. None profit organization that help all kinds of animals. The wolf encounters is my favorite part. They have a great educated show where you can also pet the exotic animals. Highly recommended for a very cheap entrance price.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! All the animals here are donated or rescued and the staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. The show-n-tell was really cool as you learned things you might not have known about the animals, plus you get to interact with a few of them. Just a note, I went here a few weeks after hurricane Irma so the place is a little dilapidated. Im sure they will bounce back as time goes by. I had a lot of fun seeing and interacting with the rescued animals.
Not a fancy place but it is clearly a labor of love and you will enjoy this place a lot more than a more conventional zoo. The guided hands-on tour was excellent and worth every penny. (You need reservations for it though.Even with regular admission you will get an entertaining animal show that affords plenty of opportunities to touch and interact with many types of animals. Highly recommended.
Amazing experience!!! Highly recommended it !!! staff really nice and well informed about the animals and the conservation. The personal tour to feed and hold the animals is worth the price and time. Fun for all ages, you are surely going to learn something new about these magnificent animals. Loves the experience.
Sorry no pics but visited this place 2 years ago and Im still thinking about it. Like 5 bucks to get in so awesome low price. Plus you get to see, touch, and learn about exotic animals as well as some not so exotic like a possum.Anyways, always wanted to own a wolf and to walk into multiple cages with them is something else. Then be able to hold them is amazing. Playing with the kangaroo was also fun.In all if I still lived in this area Id bring in everyone I know to see this place at least once.Yes many of the animals are in cages like foxes but its not a zoo though. If you have kids theyll be impressed maybe even a date if they love animals, just saying. To the staff, thanks for the experience.
So much better than a Zoo! Took our 10 month old here and he loved it. Very educational and there were so many different animals you could see and touch. It will keep you busy for at least 2 hours. The staff is great also. Highly recommend this place.
This place is great for kids and adults. There are very few places where you can pet certain animals that you get to pet here. You get an opportunity to play with wolves. Pet a kangaroo, a sloth, parrots, a python, a crocodile, a tarantula, and a few other animals. You get to see the rest of the animals up close as well. You can also feed a number of animals including alligators, goats, foxes, lemurs and some others. They do have a more personal tour of the place where you get to interact with animals you wouldnt normally get to pet if you just paid for a regular ticket. Its $55 per person and I thought it was well worth it. Kids younger than 4 are free.
