Cultural center hosting concerts & art exhibits in a former 19th-century Catholic church.
Breathtaking! The self-guided tour was delightful and informative. The space is so magical. Theres also a very impressive display of local artwork downstairs near the gift shop. This place really over-delivered!
Beautiful church. Really helps you understand what life was like there in the prime of the church. My travel companion would give it a 5 but I was done after 15 minutes. She loved it though. Do the audio tour if you go.
Beautiful, historic cathedral. The prices to rent the facility are very fair. Sacred Heart is a gem.
Nice and clean. Wedding is absolutely beautiful here
Great building and friendly staff. Enjoyed the event.
Very pretty.
Went to the silent movie and had a blast. I cant wait to do it again. When we were inside of Sacred Heart, the lights were out while we were watching the movie. The sun was still setting so it was magical seeing the beautiful stained glass windows light up.
Just happened to pass this place and glad I did. Im an ex-Catholic so some of the iconography brought back memories. Its free to come in. Theres a little art gallery. Apparently they show movies and host other events. Wish I lived closer. Very cool place.
The Sacred Heart Cultural Center, hosts some of our local American Red Cross Blood drives. Donating blood was my reason for coming today, 8/16/2022. The Center dates back to 1897, is listed on the National Historic Places. Free tours are available as well as a gift shop showcasing local artists, gifts, and accessories.
Breath taken. This venue was the perfect place to have the Traveling fashion designer showcase presented by Bella Faire productions.
My grandmother and I visited Sacred Heart for the first time today. It was beautiful inside and out, but I honestly have to say that what truly impressed me and warmed my heart was how caring the staff was. Millie and Frank (forgive me if I got their names incorrectwent out of their way to help me (a fairly new family caregiverand my grandmother navigate the space safely and comfortably.
We had a beautiful Wright wedding a weeks ago!
This building is architecturally BEAUTIFUL! From the ceiling to the archways.
It was a beautiful place to visit. One of the attractive place in Augusta.
Went to our grandsons wedding. Beautiful building.
Beautiful venue, spectacular staff
Great old church. Free Visit. Dog friendly.
This iconic Historical Building has 94 stained glass windows. Theyre 14 different designs in the Brick work of the Building.
Amazing wedding venue and exceptional staff. Missy and Rachel are so kind and accommodating.
What an incredible, unforgettable evening here tonight for the soul-reviving, mind-captivating, heart-shaking performance of the Augusta Choral Society!!! Beautiful venue with so much history. We came early to take the environment in and just enjoy this building in and if itself for a moment. And the courtyard is breath-taking… The entire experience made me feel so ALIVE!
My daughter is a artist and invited me to a art function there. The place was simply beautiful!
Went there for the Wet Paint Party and Art Sale. My daughter, a glass artist was one of the exhibitors. What a beautiful place to show art, it is art its self. I had a great time.
We enjoyed a wedding there, beautiful outdoor space and church inside is stunning.
Absolutely beautiful, stunning venue! We attended a wedding and it was just breathtaking.
Audio tour is great! Very informative. My daughter loved the "Eye spy" activity and still talks about it! Beautiful and peaceful.
Lovely!!! Very peaceful.
Its a beautiful building outside, but the inside is breath taking!
Beautiful venue. Clean restroom facilities. Building is located near a homeless encampment but security keep them from trespassing.
Beautiful venue! I love the aesthetics and historical preservation. My cousin had her wedding reception there; it was so beautiful and required little to no decoration.
Words and pictures cant do it justice. Some of the most beautiful stained glass Ive seen. Vibrant and moving. The outside of the building is just as beautiful. The red brick architecture is gorgeous.
Amazing venue for our wedding. The staff helped us with any requests we had and made the entire event go flawlessly. Make sure to book well in advance, as they have events planned for over a year usually.
A gem in the heart of Augusta touring sacred heart was beyond my imagination. The beauty of the flowers are among some of the best Ive ever seen. We did the audio tour with headphones helping me to connect with some of the amazing aspects of this beautiful building. I can see why every girls dream is to get married there it would be almost like a magical wedding. The history behind the whole museum makes it even better!! Staff is also an amazing added bonus!!
This is one of my favorite landmarks in Augusta that I finally got to visit during the garden expo a couple of months ago. Ive always been fascinated by the architecture and hope people will be able to enjoy its beauty for centuries to come. The people who work hard to keep this building preserved are very much appreciated.
Was here for a wedding staff was great place is absolutely gorgeous
If you are in Augusta you must visit Sacred Heart. An absolutely amazing site and experience. I highly recommend the audio tour (there are interviews and facts shared you will miss otherwise). Greeted by the most delightful women and greatly appreciate the extra time taken to chat with us. A true treasure!
The Sacred Heart is absolutely stunning! The brochure provided with the tour allows you to proceed at your own speed. We opted not to do the tour with the headphones, simply b/c I like reading at my own pace, and I was with my children. I have a daughter in a wheelchair, so we took the advice given on their fb page, and called when we got there, and were let in through their wheelchair entrance. So very thoughtful. They actually did that twice for us b/c twenty minutes after getting there, we decided to go pick up my mother-in-law so she could enjoy the tour with us. The staff was lovely, and the tour was perfect.
I have been wanting to go here since moving to Augusta and the experience certainly didnt disappoint! The architecture from the outside looked amazing every time I drove by, and the interior decoration certainly equals the high bar that was set by that exterior perception. I was also impressed by the acoustics in the main hall as different bands played on stage. Of course the photographic opportunities where outstanding. Certainly a must-see stop in any Augusta itinerary. Highly recommended!
This place is absolutely beautiful. Pictures do not do it justice. The woman working the gift shop was very friendly, and the woman who showed me around was very friendly as well. Top of my list for my wedding venue next year
Stopped by the Sacred Heart gift shop to buy an Arts in the Heart badge, then wound up staying to peruse the gift shop as well as the newly installed Women on Paper exhibit. Had a delightful time! Staff were friendly & knowledgeable. Gift shop was filled with eclectic mix of artsy items. Women on Paper exhibit was wonderful -- highlighting the considerable talents of a group of local professional artists. The exhibit is open to the public through October 31st. Catch it if you can.
Beautiful! Still feels scared! Love the altar! And the strained glass! Grounds were very nice too! Classic Southern! The gift shop was nice too! Very, very gracious people running it. I loved this place!
Lovely space...large enough for special occasions yet just the right size
Pure elegance! It will take your breath away. I was a vendor at the Sacred Heart Garden Festival and this was the best experience ever. I was checked on by the many warm, cheerful volunteers. The festival itself was beautiful. Exquisite plants for sale and you cant miss the butterfly house. I understand that there is a lovely gift shop with lots of local themed merchandise. I intend to visit it soon!
This is a wonderful place to have a wedding ! A reception! So many more special events you may think of. This was my first time at Sacred heart and I was totally impressed with the beautiful architectural designs of of culture center!
Wonder place. Great atmosphere. Wish the art area was a bigger space!
My friend and I attended the 10th annual Fatty Marshas Gala. The location was beautiful and the event was educational and fun. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I hope to have my future wedding at Sacred Heart.
This was a BEAUTIFUL place to host our reception for the 2018 Southeastern Archaeological Conference. As someone who always enjoys spending time in historic places (and spent her Europe vacation in all the cathedrals and churches), I will say that this one was impressive, elegant, and reminiscent of the past architecture. I didnt organize the reception, so I cant speak to the ease of the set-up, but I did love how open and inviting it was. They have a section dedicated to the history of the deconsecrated church and the past parishioners. This is a great place for events or just to see a cool, old church!
Beautiful! Glad it was saved but what an shame it is no longer a church.
Very kind staff and beautiful architecture.
Awesome space for a wedding, party or corporate event. The interior of the building is stunning. There is ample parking right in front of the building and there are off duty deputies providing security at most events. Consider this place if you need to rent a large space for any event.
Absolutely beautiful wedding venue. I highly recommend.
