Sac's Kitchen in Huntsville

I ordered the yams, Mac and cheese and wings. It was not good and I hate that it wasnt. I really wanted to like it. The chicken was extremely greasy.

Food was great!!! And the ladies just KNOW what I was talking about when I was trying to say what I wanted but couldnt quite get it out right❤️❤️❤️❤️

Was actually at their Bar & Grill next door. Had a blast and the drinks and catfish nuggets were good

Sharon Epps Hawthorne, Im so glad that I had a chance to visit this restaurant today to enjoy great atmosphere the food was wonderful the facilities very clean great customer service skills, also I like that the owner came out to greet and meet the customers in the bar area, I will be back again I did enjoy the catfish with fried okra so delicious the best soul food that I have had in a very long time I will be back to patronize this business. To the owners the mother and the son you guys rock. I have been telling everyone about this restaurant. 🤑

Comfort food outside Comfort zoom... Hear me out I tried there lemon peppers gizzard omg so..good. crisp, flavorful, slight chew not too chewy. Its been than the catfish.. Try the gizzard

Good southern down home cooking you can order off the menu or the selected item of the day. Either choice you cant miss. Great service family owned and operated. Two thumbs up I wish they had somewhere you could eat there my only request. However due to the state of our world I understand.

I’m from Ohio. Everything was fire! Only thing I would tweak is that iMac N Cheese. It was real soupy under the cheesy topping. But neck bones mash and yams 🔥🔥🔥

Visited this location and what a disappointing experience I was the only customer to begin the girls on the front were so inattentive,it was 11:45 when I got their it is now 12:24pm and I have been given wrong food twice,along with serveral other people,at this point I’m over it Just give me my money back,Customer service is awful

I am not from Alabama and the “soul food” places I have tried around Huntsville doesn’t touch Sac’s Kitchen, even the “top rated” places. Order is always on point, hot, and good tasting. On busy days you may have to wait a while and the prices may be pricey however it is worth it. I’d advise any new residents or tourists looking for real soul food to check this spot out. All they need is to add an option for a side of fatback and corn pudding and I would be beyond satisfied.

I dont get over there often, but Im always pleased when I do. I most recently enjoyed their fried chicken with Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy. And the other day the lasagna was delicious and super filling! Pintos, yams, and cornbread pancakes are on point🔥

The food was awesome , I had fresh fried catfish filet, turnip greens, candid yams and butter roll,👍

They have some of the best catfish in the city and probably the only place where you can get authentic soul food and a drink in the area.

Good selection, food is ok not great, something is missing to bring it over the top. My suggestion is to taste as you season to ensure its on point!

The food is good however, they no longer take their time paying attention to all orders. The restaurant is leaving out sides for orders and NOT including all condiments to complete the meal! UNSAT, UNSAT, UNSAT!! I would advise anyone make sure you check your order before you leave or delivery. This services has reached the level of greed by wanting more tips for less work and lack of attention to details.

The food was ok, not great. I was expecting more of a home cooked taste. The prices have increased, which is understandable, however the taste was average.

I just moved here for a job and my new coworkers brought me here for a drink a week ago. Its their regular spot. I quickly understood why. This place is clean (even the bathroom was immaculateand the food and drinks are great! The vibe is super chill until the DJ gets going and it becomes more festive. The owner is super cool and everyone he employs is friendly. Ive already been back with my spouse. Definitely adding it to my list of chill spots.

Service was pretty nice. However my baked chicken was not cooked all the way. A lot of blood was in chicken and it had a weird taste. I wanted to just talk to someone over the phone about it. But I called 3 times no one answered.

Place is nasty and terminally slow. Sign says fried fish will take 20 minutes to prepare. Add an hour to that and youve got a realistic figure. Just go elsewhere.

Great tasting soul food. There are so many sides to choose. The baked chicken and dressing was out of this world. Will definitely recommend when ur in the mood for soul food.

I strongly recommend this atmosphere for mature adults to partake in... the food is awesome and the adult beverages are awesome. The staff and owners are very courteous...they interact with their customers,very warm.

The food was really good, the people were really nice, excellent customer service, would recommend not to go during the last hour they are open as your buffet options will be limited unless ordering from the menu.

Good soul food. Cafeteria style. Some items cooked to ordered as well. Overall great experience. Ordered over 50.00 worth of food for dinner. Had plenty. Great portions and food was on point!!!

I placed an online order of chicken & dressing, yams, mac&cheese, adding fried tomatoes and turnip greens for pickup 5-16-2021. I was advised after asking for the online order line, that there was not one, that I would have to get in the "order line", as it was a Sunday (not detailed on their website& proceeded to wait 40 minutes for an order already paid for. Once I made it to the counter, the staff inquired as to what I ordered... I made it home only to learn that the mac&cheese was left off... A gentleman came in just as I was paying for additional items (dessertat the counter regarding his "call in" order and was served without delay. Hard pass due to substandard service and 2 of 10 regarding food taste (the cakes tasted great).

It was closing time,but they fried me up a chop. I was traveling from Virginia and really wanted some soul food.I really appreciated that hospitality

If I could give them zero stars I would!! NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EATEN SUCH FOUL SLUDGE! Stay away from this place! I ordered 4 meals but mine was a whole catfish with greens and Mac and cheese. The greens tasted like chewing on a plant out of the field the Mac and cheese had no seasoning and dont get me started on the fish! Im so upset as this just happened. Also I understand that covid has made things harder but I waited at least an hour for this "food". I expected better being from New Orleans. Garbage food . I do want to say the ladies attending us were nice and helpful. But jesus this isnt even food!

This is a great little hidden gem for soul food in North Huntsville. Its really easy to miss from the road. Their fried and baked chicken is delicious and dont sleep on the homemade mac and cheese. The staff is really friendly and helpful if youre learning the menu. They have a hot and ready bar if you want to pop in and grab a plate real quick or you can get made to order items from the regular menu.

A much needed change when most lunches consist of sandwiches, fries or chip!

Well I finally found a restaurant that the food is amazing every time I go!! The service is incredible! It’s 10 minutes from my house! Reminds me of my Mom’s cooking, always true flavor. Love this place!

This looks like a hidden gem in Huntsville. My niece recommended we go to this place as I was in town for her college graduation. This place is good, employees the day I visited were very nice and helpful, patient and knew what they were doing. Food was takeout which was fine knowing everything going on. My meal that I had was 😋 and their banana pudding is 💯😋😋😋. The girl that worked there even brought my food out to the car. Definitely recommend going there. Price point for the food is not bad 👍🏾

Please forgive me for the sloppy plate but I was to excited to eat after being away from home for so long that I forgot to snap a photo first. We arrived after lunch time so it was not busy. The service was great. Everyone was very friendly and ready to help. CLEAN! Clean! clean! The setup is buffet style with them fixing your plate. The food was delicious. Saltwater cornbread was so good and loved the banana pudding. If I still lived in Huntsville I would make this a regular stop. I left almost 5 years ago and I have no idea how I did not know about this place. Definitely stop by. They will not disappoint.

The grade is not for the food; it is awesome! Its for the service I received today. I placesld a to go order-the cashier didnt welcome me and after receiving my food (it took about 15 min, because I ordered the catfish, which had to he cooked), I asked if an item was going to be added to the menu : she replied with a smirk on her face"I have no idea", and walked away. This was my third time going there, and the service has been pretty good; today though, I ended up with sourpuss for an attendant! Ill still return though, because the price is right, and the food is good! Soul Food @ its best. A Mom and Son team, knocking it out of the park!

I had baked chicken with sides a Macaroni & Cheese, Black Eyed peas, cooked cabbage cabbage and peach cobbler. The food was delicious couldnt ask for any better. The service was top-notch everything was quick and right there. Couldnt recommended enough. The next time I drive down from Ohio Im definitely going there.

I found a gem. Been in Huntsville nearly 8 years and never new about this place. Barely tasted a dish an associate ordered and my mouth knows there is more to try. I cant wait to explore this menu. The location is definitely hidden because Ive driven this street a million times and never noticed the place. Though its seemingly hidden the locals are definitely aware of this place. I look forward to adding a food review in the future.Update I went back and the dishes I tried blew my mind. I was so eager to eat I forgot to take a picture before digging in. Best lunch ever. I had lemon pepper chicken perfectly seasoned. Dressing & gravy to live for mashed potatoes like none other and cabbage with an edge. My Aunt had the same with mac and cheese that was heavenly, and just a side note I dont eat anybody mac & cheese but it was good and tasty! The sweet potatoes which were delicious. I just didnt have a taste for it.. They let me taste test the greens they were pretty good too. I will be dining here more often. Staff was extremely friendly fly and kind hearted. The owner was in the back making the dishes I guess. Its def one of the highlights of Huntsville but very well hidden. I bet they would get mamy more customers if the was a sign near the road.

Easily the best restaurant in the area. We get to the Ardmore / Huntsville area about once a month and have been really disappointed at the food choices until today when we stumbled upon Sacs kitchen. Its a traditional meat & 3 but with so much more charm and authenticity. Everyone there was super friendly, and the food was terrific. I couldnt choose between the liver / onions and the ribs so I did the ribs with a side of liver and onions. The blackberry cobbler is a must-try, and my girlfriend had the fried chicken which she loved. I will 100% be back next time we go down. Seriously, amazing food.

We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back. The staff is very friendly/professional and the food is excellent. My wife couldn’t make a decision on an entrée so she went with an order of four sides and loved them all. I had the catfish and it was excellent. I encourage you to give Sac’s a try … enjoy a great home cooked meal and support local small business!
