Asian food in a youthful feeling room with polished concrete floors and carved wooden partitions.
Saba in Dublin
Description
Privilege
food is ok, but small portion of food and price is high.
There is a lovely vibe about Saba in South William Street. Good food and friendly service.
MoreWonderful service and food for our birthday party, great atmosphere.Special thanks to the Manageress Annie was genuinely friendly and lovely.
MoreFantastic food, would eat here again. Ever8was very nice.
Lovely food...and wine. Nice ambiance. Staff very pleasant, helpful and friendly.
MoreReally good vegetarian pad thai! One of the best Ive tried in a while. They also have a vegan pad thai available.
MoreGood place for Thai and Vietnamese food for a decent price and a nice ambience. Friendly staffs too. Will come back to try other food on their menu so I can give better review 😋
MoreFantastic food, atmosphere, and service. Appetizers were excellent. Spring rolls (4were delicious and the chili chicken for the main was wonderful. Spicy but can be adjusted to your liking. The desserts were excellent too. The bill was also very reasonable given the food quality and service. Would return. Top place.
MoreThe new location in South William St works very well. Airy, bright and spacious. Great food and attentive service is carried forward from the older location.
MoreCame here with my mum and had a lovely meal. Massaman curry and chicken salad both delicious. Really attentive staff and a lovely bottle of Picpoul.
MoreFood was good. Portions were a bit small for the price. And one of the guests I was with asked for her dish without an allergen and they forgot.
MoreStaff amazing, food amazing, atmosphere was great too. Cant wait to return
Love the place...i lived in Asia for years and I miss the food so much...The food in this restaurant is fantastic..it took me back to the good asian food. Staff is friendly and service fast!!!
MoreThe food was great! Can’t commend it high enough. It came out incredibly fast and it was delicious all around. The interior is gorgeous and offers a sharp juxtaposition of the entrance where the seats are darker and more intimate versus in the middle of the restaurant where there is a huge skylight and everything is bright and more family oriented with benches instead of booths and tables. The food was delicious and the cocktails were okay, they took longer than the food to arrive but that’s a very minor thing. The hostess was very helpful and kind and managed to find us a seat even though we didn’t book. We also wanted to order dessert as we got the dessert menu but unfortunately the staff took about 20 minutes to come back to us to take the order at which point we had already lost appetite. Overall it was good food and a good experience but the staff were a bit slow and the prices a tad too high for what it should be. Otherwise an okay restaurant
MoreHad a lovely meal with my Family, food it always the same high standard
Excellent food and cosy atmosphere. Nice decoration with beautiful pictures.
Enjoyed the food but was in early and it was quiet and it seemed the staff were looking for something to do and came over to our table quite a lot. In saying that there were very friendly
MoreExperience was great, fast and efficient service by a brilliant waitress called Cindy, made the whole experience very enjoyable. The food and cocktails were amazing
MoreFood was superb the staff were amazing. Cocktails were strong 😁 highly recommend
MoreExcellent, flavorful and fresh Thai. Beautiful space. Super fast. Really kind servers. Started with the beef lettuce wraps. Enjoyed the chili wok chicken. Delicious!
MoreAbsolutely delicious food and atmosphere. Lovely staff, only a 4* as the staff could have been more attentive but we would definitely be back.
MoreAbsolutely marvellous place, ethnic food, awesome taste and nice efficient service. Loved the place.
MoreGreat atmosphere and menu. Good service. Just right for a long lunch with friends or colleagues.
MoreThe food was beautiful, the staff werent great at explaining the fixed price menu but we got there in the end. Im not sure if the group fixed price menu was that great economically but what we had tasted lovely.
MoreReally enjoyable night out. Food very tasty and good atmosphere within. Only drawback was the bench seats were not that comfortable.
MoreReally fresh and tasty food. Tofu starter was amazing!! Cocktails really nice. Friendly staff.
MoreFood is pretty average, nothing special. Fresh and tasty but nothing different to most other Asian restaurants. Quite noisy. No wow factor here. The staff are nice and service is good.
MoreLoved this place! The decor is chic. They have a nice drinks / cocktail selection. Food options are good and the taste is authentic. The staff is friendly and overall the Service was great. Highly recommend this restaurant!!
MoreIts ok, but not great (and see update at end). The squid starter was very nice. The chicken and the duck we had as mains were both a bit underwhelming - bland to be honest. It was handy that they seated us right next to the toilets, despite there being room elsewhere. The piped music wasnt needed or wanted, and was more tuned for a bar than a relaxing eating experience. It also seemed a bit over priced. I usually love Thai restaurants, and am never disappointed. But theres always a first time for everything.UPDATE: 16 May 22. Anna at the reservations team has been in contact and sent me a gift voucher to go back and have a meal when Im next in Dublin. She could not have been more friendly, helpful and determined to provide redress. Ill look forward to returning when I can, and hopefully finding that my visit was untypical. Five stars for the follow up from Anna.
MoreLove the food, staff are great too and very friendly. Highly recommend it.
Friendly staff. Nice restaurant decor. Food was OK if a little pricey. Main courses were very tasty, but our starters were fairly small, and arrived immediately after order. Starters seemed to have been reheated. €100 for meal with two drinks and shared dessert. Bottled water expensive.
MoreOne of the best Thai restaurant experiences Ive ever had. Quick service, amazing food and theyve accommodated us on a Saturday night even though we turned up at the door with no booking. Although Id recommend to book in advance to avoid any disappointment.
MoreTo start, my favourite food is Thai food. Im from Waterford and we have some good Thai resturants there but Saba on baggots Street tops them all. Service is top class, staff are really friendly and welcoming even with how busy it was which created a great atmosphere they were still very attentive.I had the chefs special which was the duck and pinneapple and it was utterly devine and we both had chicken wings for starters. Definitely the nicest Thai food resturant I have ever been to. I recommend it to anyone.
MoreThe new location in South Williams Street is fabulous, High ceiling, really bring you back to authenticity of Thailand.Service is very excellent, staff are impactable 9/10Food was good, somewhat pricy for starters. Not worth it.Cocktails are €12 very good selection.Great place to stop after a day of shopping in down! Will go again!!!
MoreLovely food, great ambience, nice selection of food and drinks, brilliant service from staff and well-priced food for Dublin.
MoreSaba is a super spot. Just go and see for yourself. So close to city centre and high end classy, with great value food and drinks. Brilliant well trained, customer focused staff. Keep up the good work folks.Edit: Nov2021 Just reopened at a Fab new venue on South William St. See photos.
MoreBrilliant!Professional and friendly staff, great menu with delicious food! Due to current restrictions (online outdoor dinningwe reserved a spot and were set up cosy with provided heaters.Service was really good and food as mentioned already - delicious! Stop by and try their Duck rolls and Crispy chilly chicken!
MoreWe had dinner here on our first night in Dublin and we were very pleased with the food as well as the service. When we initially walked in there was a table available tucked all the way at the back but the server told us that if a closer table opened up she would move us. However from previous experiences, we figured they would just forget about us back there. Contrary to our belief, a table opened up closer to the bar and we were moved right before our meals arrived. The food was delicious! I ordered a Chicken Pad Thai and I was very happy with my decision. I was also impressed that the food was brought out within 10 mins of ordering which is never the case in Toronto where we are from. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere and would recommend this place for other outings. Might seem strange to have Thai food in Ireland but we really enjoyed ourselves and recommended it to a friend of ours that was visiting a week later and she was also very happy with her experience.
MoreWe just had a superb meal at Saba in Dublin, we had a big group of eight people but space was found in the very busy restaurant. The food is delicious and the staff looked after us really well.
MoreI loved it, we loved it... I have been in Thailand 5 times, and founding almost same taste at another part of the world is amazing. One constructive feedback from me, I would love to see more Orchids around and incense sticks to create the same atmosphere, on the other hand everything was fabulous... hope to see u again guys
MoreGood friendly staff, dark and noisy environment, kinda mediocre food, cocktails are way too heavy on the lime juice and it crowds out the other flavours.
MoreWonderful! Being a vegan traveler can be a challenge, but Saba was wonderful, from the greeter walking me through the menu, to the attentive, personable server, to the amazing tasty, satisfying food! I had the Phad Prik Sod with vegetables and tofu. It was marked as medium spice level. Being from Southern California, where Mexican spice levels can be quite high, I found it to be low spice, but still quite enjoyable. Thank you Saba, for a wonderful Dublin experience!
MoreMediocre, very westernized and diluted Thai cuisine. Chicken wings way too sweet, and tiny wings. Cocktails were anemic. Dark dank nightclub decor.
MoreGreat, flavoursome food, accompanied by attentive service. Dark and Moody vibe, and fairly busy even on a Sunday evening. The spicy options could do with some more spice though.
MoreIm a recent convert to Thai food and Saba was part of the conversion. The food is done to a very high standard. I can recommend the scallops to start and the duck for the main course. The place is quite large but as there are a number of different areas it retains a more intimate feel. The table staff are very attentive and friendly. Prices are not cheap but reasonable for this part of town. Its in a great location with a lot of pubs and bars nearby if you want a drink afterwards.
MoreVery good thai food, not as authentic as the food in Thailand but as close as youll get in Dublin. My only complaint was it was so dark inside that we had to put the lights on our mobile phones to read the menu (and we have good eyes!). Otherwise Ill be back.
MoreWow, wow and wow, great ambience, helpful staff and amazing food. The restaurant was packed when we arrived however we were quickly served. They have a vast drink list, I chose a mocktail, the blue moon which is with blueberries and ginger and tastes great. The caveman vegetable curry was listed as mild in the menu, it was slightly hot for my taste but adding rice to it was OK.
MoreAmazing food and ambience. Good service and polite people. The chicken wings were tender and delectable and the fried rice was just heavenly with the fried egg on top. The price is a bit on the expensive side but they have a lunch deal involving a starter and a main course which was enough for me. I took one star away because it is kinda embarrassing in my opinion if the waiter asks if you want to give a tip or not. I think this is best left to the consumers.
MoreGreat place. Definitely will be back.Started 5*Main 5*Dessert 5*Cocktails 5*Hot peanut butter rum...emmm...pretty nasty
MoreSetting and service was good. We had lobster but the price was high for the size of the lobster. Also, the meat was made in a way that caused it to be really dry.
