Nice hotel, breakfast not upto mark level

Ive visited this hotel quite number of time, reason for me to choose this hotel whenever I came to Taiping because of few reasons,1. Room is spacious2. Plenty of parking spaces3. Easy to reached, exit via Kamunting utara Plus Highway,4. Rooms price reasonable.5. Quiet hotel at low density area and near to Army Camp.6. Nearby is AlEhsan sports shops for those who wanted to shops for sport appheral.7. Hotel provide buffet breakfast. However in Taiping Town which is 4km from the hotel there is many coffee shop, kopitiam and Taiping is known for its good food.However, during my latest visit I couldnt manage to get the room, because its fully booked due to the Festive season, Hari Raya.Reminder, if you are you can just walk in but, since this hotel is amongst the popular hotel in Taiping, better to make early reservation.

Very bad experience. Booked a room for 148.00. When check in the air cond not working after 30min. Went down to only know Front Desk no body. Left a security guard available. He was kind to help me. When get another room it was occupied. And again change room. Same prob air cond and the room stink soo bad of mouldy smell. Slept at 3 am because im soo tired. Suddenly a man came shout and kick at the hotel room door 4.20am woke me up just to know he had some issue with his wife and the guy was kicking the door for at least a solid 20 min. Couldnt sleep the whole night. The same guard was kind to loan me a fan. Finally get some sleep but was a restless night as morning can hear ppl go out about . Went to lobby the next morning asking the front desk. Why gave to me a lousy room which they knew was faulty. Can see their face they knew but cant do nothing. And a guy say will help me to complain behalf of me. I told off the guy no point since u had bad review 2months ago. Seriusly i would never ever recomend this hotel to other ots just a bad place to stay. The room stink of mould smells and no front office to help u. Better dont stay here the boss is stingy. Just want to make money not quality.

Rooms are ok,but no fridge in standard rooms.have to book deluxe rooms for the fridge.hotel management,please do something about this

Just ok for me. The room not so clean. No floor mat. Breakfast just ok. Not many choice of food.If you arrived early, dont expect to check in early. Check in only allowed at 3pm and above.

WOULD NOT RECOMMENDHonestly, it is less than a 3 star hotel.complains:-room: there were stains on the bed and also the carpets on the ground. There were also few strains of hair in the bed.. tbh, it was so bad.-toilet: the pipe is leaking, the toilet clogged once. The towels had a disgusting smell.-service: It was so bad I would give it a zero.. Room service did not even pick up the call. Had to go down to the lobby to ask for help..breakfast was edible but not appetizing.. and it is included with the room.. there was a bug in the wedges DISGUSTING.

The shower screen are dirty,the aircond blower part so dirty no maintenance at all.At the restaurant table and chair so old and dirty,this set of table meed to be change,check the chairs hand rest are old and is torn everywhere, I quess this my last stayed,regrets after being so regular and ends up disappointed.

I believe it a bit slow but recover from the pandemic period, hope it will improve all the way after this.

Often been here as their customer hospitality, services and well friendly management. Rooms are well maintained with hygiene

Nice quiet & comfortable stay. The smell of the carpets along the way from lift to rooms isnt nice. The hotel rate is good enough. Value for money

No buffet breakfast during our stay..low season i guess.. its disappointed my son

Stay there on July 2020. Due to long MCO restrictions the service is not too good. My room is dusty, the comforter is dirty & toilet is not properly maintain. Use to be my favourite hotel & do hope they can upgrade their services like last time.

Wont come again due to air conditioning not functioning properly.Middle of the night packing stuff go down to reception to change room.Room given got same problem the whole hotels not cool. Staff not helping, lady reception and technicians impolite.

upset A 3 star hotel without swimming pool. Asked for non smoke room but full with smoking smell. Room clearance need lot improvements.feeling just right have 2 star only.

We book the promo rate $75. Bed clean and comfortable. Although our toilet was not clean when we check in. Nothing much to complain with the price we pay. The view in our room is beautiful.

Bad hotel, that the management will ask you to go out wondering until their function hall finish partying, eventhough you 4 floors away from the function hall, the security will have the look to bite you if you dont corperate, the reception will not tell you that you can get your money back even though you have book it line. The manager dare not face the customer even you complained. Trust me you should go to this hotel if you want a good night sleep.

Food not consistent. We attended a Sangeet on Friday, food was good. Wedding dinner on Sunday was below average.

I went here because thes a dinner for buka ramadan by collegues. I would say the place is quiet/ peaceful. Besides that I went here for wedding dinner, or company event. The food hear is moderate, and surrounding the hotel is quite, where you might not found any leisure mall or entertainment.

I came here maybe 7 or 8 years ago and at that time this was a really good decent hotel. Sad to say with time it has certainly deteriorated. Locality is still somewhat away from central region of Taiping. Having said that its like only 10 or max 15mins away. But there are certainly newer hotels with better location in the same price range. Hence I was expecting well maintained rooms and excellent service. To be fair service was good. Staff were warm and friendly. The rooms are dated, period. Worse thing is housekeeping seems to be doing a poor job. My room was sadly very dusty and I suffered a bad sinus attack thanks to d dust. Breakfast was decent and it came along with the room. But if I had to pay rm23 I believe for it then its certainly not worth it. Parking is ample. I sincerely hope the management works on his housekeeping team and maybe do some essential refurbishment. Fungus in the tile grout is certainly disgusting. Will likely not book again. WiFi is free but terrible as well. Its not really usable in the room

One of the WORST hotel Ive ever been. Ive made the WORST decision to stay here. I was given a room full of cigarettes smoke even though Ive requested for a non-smoking room. Only got to change room after a couple of requests. Then, the 2nd rooms toilet was not working well and had to ask for maintenances help. The worst was, on the 2nd night, there was a wedding party in the hotel ballroom on the 4th floor but the loud and vibration from the bass of the music could be heard and felt on the 2nd floor where I was staying. The walls and doors were all VIBRATING when I touched it. I supposed there was ZERO soundproofing in this hotel. How am I to go to sleep? Complained the hell out at the front desk but the "so called" supervisor Ms Liza spoke one very irresponsible word that is...."the Wedding paid for it"! So, didnt I pay for my room?! I asked for the manager but I was told by Ms Liza that there is no such thing as a Manager in this hotel! She told me to just bear with it....hahaha...can you imagine this came from a hotel service provider? She also refused to return back the room payment that had been paid so that I could just leave OR suggest a solution. She went on to do her whatever and TOTALLY IGNORED me. And thats it! So I packed and went to another hotel in the middle of the night. Im confused why such service can happen? I really felt cheated by this SSL Traders Hotel. Or am I discriminated because I was only a customer who got the "smallest" room? The worst experience up until now!

A decent hotel. But I gave it only two stars because the WiFi connection sucks. I was in a room with no connectivity at all, most probably because the room was far away from the router. It was really frustrating as I was there for work, and had to stay connected for it.The plus: the towels are nice and soft, and not those typical hotel towels that will burn your skin. The soft towels scored the two stars, to be honest. Else it would just be one star.

Very bad experiences with this hotel bcoz when doing booking thru agoda saw got breakfast but after booking no breakfast, anyway took 2 days family studio room, 1st da check in late next day went for out door in lake came back to hotel surprise room was clean but we didn’t ask for housekeeping to clean the room but w/o our permission came into our room, next we still didt realize our valuable thing gone missing, check out back hm after next day when keeping all our belongings we realized one of our valuable thing went missing, when we call to hotel hotel manager just don’t bother of returning our call regdg our missing thing, when we ask they just reply we call back later, but until now they don’t even bother..really not happy with their service..very22 poor service..Their housekeeping people STEAL our thing, we are very sure bcoz the room was empty after we left..please be very careful if u want stay that hotel..

The hotel had removed the ala carte style breakfast and replaced it back with buffet style. They ought to know that Malaysian loves buffet style with varieties of foods to choose from instead the mundane ala carte style which will deter the customer.The same restaurant also serves tasty foods ranging from local to western with a reasonable price.If youre a movie lover, the TV channel will disappoint you. Not many selections available and the channel transmission are poor with the heavily distorted screen. Otherwise, the room is fair enough for a stay with adequate supply amenities.

Nice room. However, room cleanliness needs to be improved. Dust and palm prints can be seen on the mirrors. Tray for toiletries in the bathroom is full of dust.

Was here for a wedding reception. Good location. Easy to find. Convenient parking as there are ample parking lots. Food taste and presentation at the wedding reception needs to be improved.

Overall experience is just average. Check in was fast. Room cleanliness needs to be improved as it was quite dusty. My advice is to avoid the breakfast! Breakfast was extremely bad, most of the food was cold and tasteless!

Good value for money, but I believe the cleanliness and maintenance can be improved. The bidet rubber seal was broken. And the both lamp beside the bed has no screw ring inside it. The cup wasnt cleaned up properly as there was some stains inside it.

got hair dryer and fairly clean toilet and room. decent breakfast. I think they didnt change their bedsheets bcs it itches me when lying down on the bed.

The food was super suck before that. But after chg the incharge person(boss). The food was delicous. It is the first time enjoy the wedding food, everythings is under control. Staffs are very helpful and polite.

I really like this hotel and have stayed here many times. Its a plain looking building but quite modern inside.The super deluxe rooms are a good size and comfortable. With a nice bathroom and really great shower (which has got plenty of space). Theres a nice restaurant and a really good Chinese restaurant next door. The outdoor bar is a great addition too. The breakfast isnt anything special but youll find all the usual things youd expect and is good enough for me.All of the staff have always been fantastic to deal with, very friendly, professional and always curteous.The Flemingston is a much better location but I definitely prefer to stay here.

Not recommended. All electrical stuff is broken. Dosent have TV channel according to what yhey pronted on the table. Only few channel are working. Wasting my 1 day stayed in this hotel. Bad bad bad...

Great interior design. Bed is comfortable. Reasonable price. Iron and board placed outside the room. Take time to cooling the room. Shower is not in proper condition.

Photos of hotel rooms on internet deceiving. Truly unhappy - TV reception is out and hopeless especially now when its world cup time. Inquired at front office and was told they have reported to maintenance and even maintenance cannot resolve the issue. Wifi was not functioning inspite of informing them on the very first day(stayed for 4 nights).Rooms facing road very noisy. Disappointed

I think its rare to find hotels with affordable price and carpeting. Value for money, but cleanliness should be improved, i found an empty water bottle under the bed. Wifi was super slow, breakfast buffet was ok, tv channel was quite limited.

Overall appearance and cleanliness at lobby is ok but the smell of floor detergent is too thick and its offensive.For bedroom Ive checked is ok, I hope they can locate some budget to change their towel, its broke.Air cond ventilation for their room is good just like to let u experiencing to sleep in freezer.

This is my second time im staying in this hotel. Overall my stay at this hotel was excellent, but one of the staff at the Front Desk which is a malay woman i dont recalled her name whos wearing a headscarf & a glasses was quite rude & no smile at all when she attended me upon check-in. Even if shes having a problem, stress, tension or tired, she shouldnt show her moody / sour face in front of me, other guest or colleagues. She shouldve acted professionally, but she failed to do so. I think she need to be train more professionally. I hope she wont repeat her bad attitude again because this will definitely effect the image & reputation of this hotel. The rest of the Front Desk staff was nice, ok, polite & they always smile as well. Room was clean, comfortable & spacious, but the thing theres no view nor a window at all. Location was good & easy to find. Buffet breakfast was very good, choices of varieties is just perfect & staff was also nice, polite & they always smile too, but the only thing annoying me is therere flies everywhere. The cafe need to install an electric insect killer. At least flies could be lesser. Parking for hotel guest is no issue at all whereby therere Security Guard on duty always on standby & monitor all the vehicles belongs to in-house guest parked at the parking lot from time to time. Ill definitely stay in this hotel again in the near future.

Car park is outside but ok. I had trouble opening entrance door with my luggage while staff just looking. I dont see them doing anything just standing there? Service from the reception counter is good.

Stayed overnight 2 days to attend niece wedding, SSL is nice and comfortable place to rest.Really appreciate and THANKS to SSL house keeping team, they able helped us found the lost necklace and watch. They are great!

Quite easily located but about 10 mins from town. Room is spacious. However the TV reception is not so good. There is free wifi and reception is Ok.

The room is pretty OK. But their breakfast is damn disappointing. They had no butter for the toast. The milk for cereal was spoilt. The time I went was during the fasting month so not sure if the staff just couldnt give a rats ass about the breakfast.

For the price paid, I would say everything is satisfactory. Bedroom and bathroom are clean. Wifi only available at certain zones, not in bedrooms. Buffet breakfast is adequate but service can be improved if refilling of depleted food items is done more efficiently.

Had a generally good experience. Stayed for 2 nights here. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Room cleanliness could be better, carpet stained but the bed is tidy. Breakfast is appropriate with the price. Only downside is the hot water shower is not hot at all. Troublesome for families with smaller kids.
