SPY Korean BBQ & Drink - Restaurant in Pathein, Myanmar
Its an experience if you never visited! You cook your own food which is fun and quick. I enjoy trying the different sauces and meats. I love the conveyor belt that passes by your table with different foods and desserts. Call before you visit to reserve a table so you dont have to wait to be seated. Worth the experience π
We loved it and will be back! Food, service and portions were all worth it. Its so much fun cooking your own food in a restaurant, and everything is thinly sliced so it doesnt take a long time to cook at all. Food tasted fresh even though some of it was frozen. It still cooked very fast. 5+ stars!!!
Staff was very friendly. Welcomed us right when we walked in. Menu was easy to review and pick what we wanted to eat. We sat near the conveyer belt and that was very exciting. We got the bulgogi beef and loved it! We also each gota different hot pot as well and loved the noodles.
I have been in here a few times now and I love every experience. But make sure that when you go that youre hungry because they have so many options and is all you can eat!
I enjoyed this experience so much. Great selection in abundance I was so full and satisfied. The food going by on the conveyor belt is kind of whimsical it was very authentic. Late night date night we got there around 11pm and stayed for a little over an hour.
Our waitress had a gorgeous smile and personality. The food was over the top tasty! I ordered the spicy broth and boy was it! Made my lips numb lol. This place was awesome we will definitely come here again!
Food was good but it took us a while to understand how all of this worked. Once we figured it out, it was a nice experience. We will try it again.
The food here is amazing!! I loved the hands-on experience of hot pot and kbbq. Everything tasted amazing and there are so many options for food. They have vegan options also! I was so excited about the conveyor belt, but it was a little disappointing. The price is fair considering the amount of food that is available. Our server, Josiah, was very attentive. He was considerate and kind seeing as it was our first time at the restaurant. We have returned a few times afterwards!
I got the opportunity to share this experience with close friends and was very excited especially because I recently viewed this unique cuisine via YouTube. Our waiter, Kevin, was extremely patient & helpful by explaining and answering all of our questions. It was everything I could imagine if not more and will be back again with an empty stomach!!
First time was when the original venue for our rehearsal dinner lost power 1 hour before our reservation. Called nine spices and asked if they could accommodate 40 people in an hour. They were wonderful and very helpful as most of the guests had never done kbbq before. Have returned with groups multiple times since then and have always had a great and delicious time.
Please visit this place. Omg it is so dang good! Went with my mom. She got the Hot Pot and I did the BBQ. Everyone is super nice, very knowledgeable and helps out in every possible way. FYI you do cook your own food so donβt be ~those people~ you know π
What was supposed to be an enjoyable family dinner turned disaster. Shouldve walked out when hostess gave me a concerned look when I told her there was 26 of us.They seated us at a table where one of the burners was "slow". The chicken we placed on the burner was still raw after 45 minutes. The server avoided our table as much as possible, server told us they were out of items we requested but served those same items to other tables, server also dropped our plate of veggies, luckily my husband had walked off otherwise it wouldve landed on him.The kicker, they gave us a 10% discount for all the trouble, but charged us for 5 additional people (mustve been ghosts surrounding usand charged us 20% gratuity when they have a posted sign that says 18%.Never again.
First time dining in here last Sunday and it was very much worth it. Great customer service, good selection of saki and I love all the different options to add into hotpot. I had Derek as my server and would definitely return in the future. Thanks π
This hot pot/Korean BBQ restaurant has become an instant favorite that Ill be sure to visit again when Im in the area. The selection for the Korean BBQ meats is phenomenal! There are so many kinds of beef, pork, chicken, and seafood to choose from, and all for one price (rather than restricting some meats behind a higher price tier, as with some places)! In addition, the staff are very friendly and attentive. Soft drinks and water were refilled within just a minute or two of being finished, and the staff exchanged our grill plates for clean ones as soon as they became messy. The staff will even give you estimates for cooking times for any item if you ask (though the menu has a list as well for reference). I cannot recommend this place enough if youre looking for good hot pot/Korean BBQ.
If youre not familiar with hot pot or Korean BBQ, you should know that youre making the food yourself. Its an interactive experience. So, if youre not into that sort of thing youre going to have a terrible time. While the parking lot for this spot seems pretty big, its often full and so is the inside. I would recommend going in a large party so folks can be prepared to share and split different meats and other items youll order on the menu.Wait times can be long but you have to plan it out. They do have some raw things floating around on the conveyor belt, but its always a better bet to just order with your server so you know its coming out.
Such a fun experience! My first time with a conveyor belt going past the table. It was so much fun!
We went here (sat next to the conveyor beltand loved the experience! We didnt get BBQ items, only their hot pot, but we were pleasantly surprised! We have never gone for hot pot before at a restaurant so had no real expectations going in but we both throughly enjoyed our experience. The traditional chicken broth was okay, kind of bland, needed salt, and very creamy (not bad per say, just not what I was expecting). The chicken flavor was very rich though! We both preferred the Thai style spicy soup base which was sour, spicy, and perfectly balanced! This was definitely the winner for us. Theres also ton of ads in options, mostly seafood and meat but there are definitely options for plant based diets too! I really enjoyed the lotus root, tofu, and taro. They have a large make your own sauce area too with just about every option you could possibly need/want. Another unexpected bonus was their array of desserts - there were so so many delicious options and we tried (and enjoyedjust about all of them! Definitely recommend the chocolate pudding in a closed plastic cup and the tiramisu. The waiter we had was great, attentive, and so very polite. The table area was clean and I appreciated the suggestion to wear masks (Also that *most* staff wore masks - which is a big plus for us). Though it is on the pricier side, id say its worth it- just come expecting to eat a lot to get your moneys worth out of the experience. Id go back, for sure!
Have been twice and both times have enjoyed the food and service. Staff is very attentive to every need or want. You cook your own so no complaints about the cooking. Fun experience, multi generationally enjoyed from grandparents to grand child.
This was my first time trying hot pot. The food was fine, itβs more about the experience. I may be back again for the Korean BBQ. I got the Thai style base soup for hot pot which has a slight spice.
π This place is the most amazing place to stuff your face with meat in St Pete. I dont think the soup is worth it because I could sit here all day and eat Korean fried pork and beef. π―
I always love hot pot. Food was good, selection was nice. Really no complaints.
We have eaten at hot pot and BBQ places before but this one is the best. Quality food, meats are awesome. The conveyor brings around most of the vegetables and seafood. Great place
This is an all-you-caneat restaurant, the food is brought out to you raw and you cook it yourself. Each table seat has its own personal little burner .. what a genius idea !! Hot pot and Korean barbecue at its finest! We had so much fun at this place, the service is excellent. Everyone is very friendly and they keep the food coming. Everything was delicious! If you come here and have abbad experience its your own fault ...Jiujitsu food guys give this place a 5 start BLACK BELT rating !! Osss!!
Excellent food! Non stop good eating and a large selection. Not only good food, but a great experience. Authentic experience of choosing your ingredients and cooking it fresh. If you have never experienced Asian hot pot, this is the place. Enjoy!
If you enjoy Koren BBQ or hot pots they offer both. This is an all you can eat for a set price. Good selection of items, free meal for birthday with an additional meal. Very well maintained with a conveyor belt to fill your hotpot. This is cook for yourself style restaurant, so maybe a new experience for those who have never tried it. A bar for sauces and kimchee items, as well as lettuce leaves to wrap up those delicious combinations you create.
We went here for my husbands birthday. First time experience and it was amazing! Food and service were great. Our waiter Derrick was so nice and helpful helping us understand how the whole process works and flowed. We will definitely be back another time!
Our first time experienced was satisfying. I love the food, like the hotpot and bar- b-q. The server is accommodating thou it was kind of busy with Mothers day. I love the peanut butter sauce and their Korean bar-b-q sauce. Its a little pricey but its worth it.We will diffinatey come back here.
Service is the reason for mark downPoor explanation for first time visitorWaiter made party feel rushed or uninformedFood was freshCan request things straight from kitchen instead up things off of conveyor beltSauce options plentifulFresh watermelon juice was goodβ and indeed fresh. Beautiful garnish.Desserts were nice! I loved that there was fresh fruit options!
Great buffet hotpot place! Lots of selections of meat, vegetable and seafood. The convey belt for dishes is great! Price has increased a bit, but still reasonable considering the inflation everywhere. Will definitely visit again.
First time here. Surprisingly the food is very good, fresh and lots of food. Nice staff and the service was fast. This place is waiting for a LAWSUIT. The floor is so greasy and slippery you would think youβre on a ice skating ring. Lawyers would love this place. If they donβt take care of the greasy floor, someone will slip and fall soon.
Very good place to eat with family and friends. If you are vegan you can order the Chinese herb broth and use the sauces from the sauce bar to season it to your liking. You can customize dipping sauces. Plenty of choices for everyone. There is a little convator for easy refill of ingredients. We had a birthday and were treated very well.
We did have to wait almost 30 mins for the server to come to our table but other than that the experience was great. Definitely got way too much for two people but it was worth it for the friendly service. Try one of the fresh fruit juices, we got kiwi and watermelon! My sister had a great time and there was great eye candy too lmao
We love Nine Spices Hot Pot & Korean BBQ. We lived in Japan for 3 years. Korean BBQ and hot pot were very popular there and became a favorite for us. This place is very similar to those overseas. Everything is very fresh and delicious. You can choose to cook in the hot pot with a variety of cooking broth to choose from. Or, you can grill your food. Or, you can choose both. You cook everything at your table. If you sit in a center booth, you can choose from a wide variety of meats, vegetables, noodles and delicacies from the conveyor belt. You can also order specific items from the menu. This is an all you can eat experience, so come hungry. The servers do not hover or ask you about your food while your mouth is full. They are near, so just flag them if you want something. If you are looking for a different and great dining experience, try it. They can get pretty busy later in the dinner time, so you might have a wait. The good news is, they do take reservations.
Great value with exceptional service. The ingredients were very fresh and our waitress was awesome. The whole wait staff was very attentive as they changed our bbq tray as soon as they see it turned black. At the end of our dinner, they brought us yakult and espresso cake which were so yummy. Highly recommended.Update:Came back on 1/16/2022 and the food and service was still phenomenal. I asked our waiter for a piece of their espressos cake but he went out of his way and gave us other treats as well. :)
It was my first time going to a Korean BBQ & itβs was INCREDIBLE! The service was amazing our waiter helped us with all the questions we had and was patient in explaining how it was done. The food was delicious with a variety of options to choose from. Will definitely be coming back again!
Great place with a wonderful atmosphere. You can order your ingredients, or you can grab them off the moving belt. To get hot pot and Korean BBQ is about $28 per person . My family and I were having so much fun cooking and talking. We kinda burned the cornπ€£. Its very important to use oil π. Remember not to waste food, because you could be paying by the pound. Only if your eyes are too big for your stomach. Completely worth it and the staff are wonderful. Dont forget youre cooking your own food so its all on you if you burn it. You cant send it back to the kitchen because you are the kitchen π.
Expensive fun time. This place is an experience. Definitely enjoyable and theres something for everyone. The plate is pricey but everything on the menu is yours to try with no worries if you dont like it. Definitely give your adventurous eaters a good time.
Its something different to do. A fun way to eat and talk for a couple hours. I wouldnt say its worth the high price for everyone, but it is an experience for sure. 4 stars since I usually have to wave down and ask for drink and meat refills. Also... remember to ask for rice lol it never just arrives ;)
This was a fantastic experience. With the trays of food on a conveyor belt, the hot pot and the Korean barbecue, and the amazing staff made this an excellent time for my guest and me.I mentioned that I had only had a hot pot once before in China and our server mentioned he was from China too. He was awesome at walking us through everything, making great recommendations, and I feel like our experience was even better because of it.Event the hostess was nice and instructive in helping us pick exactly what we needed to have a great time.Highly recommend this place for the great food, amazing service, and unique dining experience!
We have been to different hot pot restaurants in the Tampa area and this place stands out as our favorite experience. The meat quality is top notched. Must try is their beef rip bbq. However, The reason I gave them 4 out of 5 stars is that the floor is dirty and slippery. The floors feel like there is a thin layer of oil on top and makes walking dangerous. This is an accident waiting to happen. Management, please take note.
If you like to cook your own food, this is the place for you. The previous asian restaurant didnt make it, but this one the business is thriving. The price is actually not bad, and you dont have to order the same thing. one can have hotpot, and the other can have BBQ, or both. They all are all eat. Hotpot has different soup base, and BBQ, the meat quality is good, especially the steak and port belly. Also, free meal on your birthday.
Amazing! The wait staff was very helpful and nice. We had a group of 20 and they were hands down really good at taking our orders, getting our food fast, and helpful with our needs and questions.
I think this place is amazing. Its all you can eat, the service is great, the food is very tasty, theres a ton of variety and novelty with the conveyor belt system. Really great spot for a party or a date night where youre looking for something different. Ill definitely be back!!
First time visit to this type of restaurant. Staff were very very helpful. Abundance of food, seafood, vegetables, beef, lamb, chicken, tofu & noodles. So many selections for the Hotpot broth and must have been 40+ choices for sauces. One gentleman waiter even took me right up to the sauce buffet, asked me all the right questions so I could get sauces I would like. We were there till the 1am closing time and were treated so well.
Staff was nice and friendly, but was not a fan of the food. They have this weird conver belt that circles all the booths in the place where you select what ya want. The food available seemed very processed and just not very good. Marinated meats as well as house broths I thought were very bland. I also thought the prices were on the high side. Might be worth trying out, but I dont know if I would again.
Ive been exploring the Tampa Bay area looking for a good Hot Pot and Korean BBQ place. I really enjoyed this place due to the traditional hot pot set up. I ordered for my group the 2 broth soup which allows you to have a community pot with 2 major broths being boiled in one big pot. This is a good set up for a small group of friends or family. We did the all you can eat Hot Pot and BBQ. It was a little pricey for $30 a person so go when youre really hungry. The food quality was good and worth it though. The meat and other ingredients for the BBQ is a la carte and the ingredients to add to your Hot Pot is served via conveyor belt. I thoroughly enjoyed this established and would recommend to anyone wanting either the Hot Pot, Korean BBQ or both. I dont know many places that allow you to do one or the other or both. For our broths, we got the Mushroom and the Pig Bone (PorkBroth. Both were delicious and subtle for cooking your ingredients. Had great service, our waiter checked on us and made sure we were well taken cared of as well as addressing lots of questions we had about ingredients and the sauce bar.
Korean Hot Pot and BBQ. Good soups (hot potwhere you get endless ingredients and options of broths to make your dinner. And decent selection of meats and veggies that you can grill (bbq). Nice environment. Fun place to come with a group as its a great social event to create your dinner with others.
All the food was delicious and the staff was very attentive always making sure our pots were full of broth, we had enough meat, and our drinks always full! They were also super informative as it was our first time there. With them being open until 1am that makes for fun night trips! I definitely recommend.
Its great to have an AYCE Korean BBQ place in Pinellas! I introduced my bf to Korean BBQ last night. He was hesitant because hes not super into Asian food and didnt like the idea of having to cook his own food, but we got to choose a variety of meats and stuff and experiment with different sauces. We both really enjoyed it!We didnt do the hot pot, but theres a conveyor belt that circulates next to the interior tables that has a variety of meats, veggies, etc that you can pluck off to add to your soup. That was pretty neat. They also have BOGO house wine and sake! The staff was attentive, the food was delicious, and the overall experience was great. My only complaint is that a lot of the dishes werent super clean. And the place did get a little smokey due to everybody cooking at their tables, but its pretty well ventilated so didnt get too bad.
Awesome environment and atmosphere. Wait staff was super helpful throughout the whole eatting/dinning process. They answered any questions we had about the food and made excellent recommendations for broths and what to put in it. Super clean and well maintained also which is a huge plus for an all you can eat. Definitely will be coming back , and am looking forward to trying all the different dishes they offer.
