The foods tastes great
Amazing experience. Very informative guides. Rich history
Good vibes just... With dj Tosmic
It is definitely worth a visit. The boat trip was awesome, but unfortunately too short. There is a selection of restaurants with different price ranges.
The tour around the Nile and the Lake took about 1 hour. They have multiple options for boats, we opted for a fiberglass boat that was able to sit about 7 people. The cost was reasonable and they even accommodated us and arranged for us to purchase some snacks and drinks. All in all it was an informative and memorable experience. It is still a tourist trap but that does not take anything away from the experience of being able to go the source of one of the most important rivers in the world.
I have been to the Nile River several times before. The water in the river has rose too much... It has eliminated a small island we use to walk and take photos.. we had taken 1hr boat ride into the river... its not too much fun any more like it used to be before. But still its a nice place to visit..
Whole experience was fantastic, lots of arts and crafts to buy. Ambience great, please try out the local fried tilapia if you are willing to get your hands dirty. Lots to drink as well. I enjoyed the boat ride immensely however please be wary of price charges as what we agreed on wasnt what we paid. Tour guides are available for a fee however do clarify prices and know what you are paying for.
Such a great time. Loved every minute
Very nice place to rest and relax
The source of the nile....A shadow of its past. High water levels and encroanched banks.
It was a great experience, the point where the Nike starts off from Lake Victoria, was exciting to be add, you literally see the flow starting off with great force ...
Nice weather and ambiance environment which allows you to enjoy the cool and beautiful view of the Nile River and its source viewed on a boat cruise with well informed guides on site. The crafts market was vibrant and exciting, plus the food especially fresh fish and local potatoe chips was an extra for a very affordable price. o recommende the place 100%
The source itself is not so special, especially now when we were here, the actual source monument was flooded. Shop sellers and guides are very pushy for your expenditures. The birding wildlife around the source is great, however not adding much if you already visited one of the wildlife parks in Uganda.
Super interesting!!!
The experience at source of the nile,The illusion of the moving island. No doubt the best.No regrets at all.
Government should oversee the services provided in such places of geographical importance. The service providers want money for nothing.
Its a very beautiful place to be I loved it, people there are welcoming and friendly, their care skyrockets
Serene boat ride with a splendid view of the source of river nile
Its a great place. Although the boat ride was short, it feels amazing to know you are at the intersection of lake Victoria and the Nile
It was fun and enjoyment for me to visit the source of the longest river in the world by myself once again after a long time when I had last visited the source when I was still a kid
Source of the Biggest and longest river in the world. One the greatest place that must be seen. I enjoyed the whole tour and didn’t want it to be finished. You pay entrance fees. We took long tour with a boat. You can negotiate for the price.
The entry fee for Ugandans or East Africans (5,000 UGX and 10,000 UGX respectivelyis decent but it is really steep for "rest of the world tourists" at 30,000 UGX per person. That will only get you a bit closer to the water, a short ride on a boat will set you back another 100,000 UGX ... that explains why you dont see many "rest of the world" tourists here.We just skipped it entirely and watched the river from the side of the road, right before the entrance. Probably as good as being inside the park. Save your money for something else.
Visiting a source of nile is Something you have to do when you are in Jinger. To take a boat to the source, you first need to get to the pier via park. Park requires payment to enter. Entrance fee for muzungu is rather steep 30,000 ugx and for locals 5,000 ugx. But worthwhile visiting even if you do not go for a boat ride. You cannot see the point of source but you can appreciate strong current of Nile. Cost of boat ride also depends on size of the boat and duration of the trip. Boat can be accessed from both sides of the river to go to the source. I was on the side of river ( Kampala sideand did not have to pay for getting to the pier.
The place had very many attractive points 😋😋😋, thats why I enjoyed alot!
Very informed and professional guides. It was worth the time.
Source of the nile is the best place to visit for history, nature, aquatic life and wildlife, it makes you fall for nature again and again for its so rewarding.
Trust me you will love it there if your a tourist in uganda why not visit the biggest river huh ..if need be then take me with I can be your tour guide😂😂
Better come to the source of the nile..alot of great views, scenery, and good looking natural Environment in the pearl of Africa 🌍
An exhilarating experience being at the source of the Nile River..Great fish, drinks and chips experience by the waterside.Theres loud dance music and lots of picture perfect spots to capture.Lovely, absolutely lovely!
It was so beautiful seeing the water levels increase.and many people visit to see its beauty and also boat tours
It was very amazing. Saw the source of Nile river and so many things. Beautiful of Africa
Source of the white Nile. Very clean and Natural environment. There guides well loaded with information, boat rides and local restaurant where you can take freshly made Tilapia or Nile pearch.
To get access to the point described as the source of the nile you need to get boat services to a little island structure with a bar, gift shop and the signage marking the source of the nile. Other fees involved are the entry fees to the property which is government managed and based on your nationality. If you choose not to go on the boat cruise you can still visit the point where the Rippon falls used to be on the nile before the dam was built. There are restaurants along the waterfronts so lunch and dinner whilst watching the nile is also an option . For a good sunset on the nile I reckon the views from livingstone resort might be better. For the cruises offered from this point you have 3 lengths short ,medium and long. There are also some shops with souvenirs on the property
Where the Nile begins 70% comes from queen Victoria but the original name is Lake Nalubale which I think it should be changed back too. And 30% comes from below the river you actually see the water coming up from the ground to the surface meeting lake Nalubale. So amazing
Its quite an exciting moments. So amazing to take a ⛵ Ride on River Nile
Source of Nile is a very beautiful and peaceful place. One can take a boat ride and see the source from where the Nile is flowing out to became the worlds longest river. It was really an amazing experience to the source of this beautiful river. While going towards the source you can even visit Gandi garden where they have statue of Gandhiji. At the source they have huts where they sell african items which you can buy as a souvenir.
Greatest tourist attractions in Jinja, has areas of visiting, currently the water levels are high so , the known Ripon falls cant be seen, the mini zoo is no more but you should visit and cruise on the great lake and river as well
It was a lovely place, albeit a bit underwhelming. Still would recommend for the experience of it being the source of such a great river.
Great experience, good tour guiding and camera experience. They have good care and hospitality.Imagine i got a ride at 50.000 ugx wow amazing.I will recommend...recommend people to use you guys .Thanks.
That was such a surprising news, River nile begins from Uganda . Beautiful part of my Ugandan travel...
get charged 60000 just step in there and then another 100000 for a short boat ride. all the food in there is made for tourists and seriously over priced, as vegetarians we couldnt even get anything. One place offered to make us an omelette but said that would charge 6000 each, I laughed and asked the waitress if she would ever pay that amount, she laughed as well and said of course not!but the novelty of being at the source of the nile was nice, its a shame its ruined by the dams. The money it generates btw just fills the governments pockets, none goes back to local communities whose businesses are struggling due to lack of tourism. I: @jackypalazzo
You can see so many different types of birds that you didnt experience ever. Big size of lizards seems like little bit scary and most interesting. Love to visit the place again.
Amazing experience to be betwixt and between the effervescent source of the Nile and magnificently serene Lake Victoria. It takes the Nile three months to travel 6400kms before it reaches Egypt.
There are a number of boats available to take people here. We just asked some locals who guided us to find a boat, most will help out and the hotel nearby runs their own service. A locals boat asking along the banks was $25 and basic, the hotel boat costs more but is a better boat. It’s only a short trip half way across the river very easy and simple. It’s a mini gift shop on a small mini house sized island with the sign. Nice to say you’ve been there and they will also take you to the statue of Ghandi who had his ashes spread in the Nile.
Lake Victoria, Source of the river Nile in jinja city, Uganda. This is where the white Nile originates the place is amazingly beautiful featured with small islands scattered on the lake, one can Eat fresh fish and have a drink at one of the incredibly designed eateries at the edge of water or even engage in a Nile cruise and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings from the lake.
Located at a distance of 81 kms from Kampala is a place called Jinja where one could find the source of Nile having a beautiful confluence with lake Victoria. To reach this place one has to hire a private taxi as there is no proper public transportation available. For tourists taxi fares starts from 150$ but pl ensure bargaining before venturing. Maximum 70$ to 80$ can be paid as to and fro charges. Entrances fees is pretty costly to an extent of 30000 Uganda shillings per person for a foreign tourists plus 5000uganda shillings for car parking. After entering, a boat ride is necessary to reach the point(source of Nile), so again your bargaining tactics will come in to picture. Boatman will charge 20000 to 40000uganda shillings for half hour per boat. But trust me the place is very scenic and worth visiting after all this. Lavatories are not at all clean here ... Small tea shops and restaurants around this place are also very costly.
A small place for a quick milestone visit to see how lake victoria transforms into river Nile. Drive time from Kampala maybe anywhere from 2 hours to 6 hours. Yes, thats right-traffic can be very unpredictable.Another reason to recognize this spot is that ashesh of Mahatma Gandhi were sown here.Cant miss the fresh Tilapia fish either.Good calm place to stay overnight and watch the fishermen at work, or take on an island camping and be a fisherman yourself...
A nice place for a day trip, one of must visit place in Kampala around 50 Km from Kampala city ,Buses and mini buses available to Jinja from Jinja you can catch a bodo vodo (bike taxi)just one km to Source of Nile.Entry fees for foreign almost 5$ , there you can see beautiful Nile River, ,boating also available, there little shops n beer parlor and hotels in the shore of Nile. Another noted thing is Mahathma Gandhi statue ,1948 Gandhis mortal remains immersed here , good location for photography and hang out...
Coming hear revealed many things. The fact that Mahatma Gandhis ashes were deposited here as he willed in itself was amazing.
