SEPA - Venetian restaurant in Venice, Italy
What an incredible experience! Their squid ink risotto is one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. The staff was friendly, the physical space was delightful. Tucked away in the center of Venice, SEPA is worth making a special trip.I also had one of the best tiramisus of my life. Highly recommend.
We wanted to try a ciccetti place while in and it was our favorite experience while in Venice. I recommend the meatballs, frittata, onion tarte and tiramisu. We shared a 3/4 bottle of wine. They were nice and fast and they provide cups for tap water which I loved.
Delicious! Great selection of food with amazing flavours. I particularly enjoyed the risotto and the onion tart. The tiramisu was incredible! Made with pistachio, it had such a unique flavour - I’ll have to try to replicate it at home. You can order a half or full portion of risotto, which changes daily, and you can order wine by various bottle sizes.
Best of Venice and an absolutely MUST for local food and style! Friendly staff, amazing selection of food and wine, best tiramisu (potentially in whole Italy), good prices. I wish I could bring them home lol
Food was fantastic. Stopped by on a food tour and once it was over we headed right back. Staff and owner were super nice and helped us figure out their best items. Rosa di cipolla was my fav. Wine they suggested was also very good. End of our trip and one of the very best we had.
Cosy little bar. Nice ambience. Vino wasn’t great though (didn’t finish itand food was a little bland but ok. Service was good though. We left after about 15 mins (would have left earlier if there wasn’t feee wifi). I’d probably skip and try another bar nearby.
A lovely experience in a hidden ally of Venice. We had the meatball over polenta, grilled swordfish, pumpkin risotto and the stuffed artichoke heart. The best cicchetti!
Great food and drinks! I highly recommend it but get there on time!
Came here for our first meal in Venice, at the end of our Italy trip. After 15 days of many great gastronomical experiences and a few poor ones as well, we came here hoping to fill our hungry tummies from the train ride from Modena.Well the food was boring uninspiring and pretty much flavourless. We tried a bunch of things and their house white wine. Everything was average at best. Paper plates, plastic glasses - for the prices they’re charging, it just is not worth it (or maybe this is just how Venice is).
Can’t recommend enough. Amazing seafood and best tiramisu I ever had :)
Amazing little bar and Venetian food - tapas, but the Venetian equivalent. Great value and very authentic. Would highly recommend it.
Loved everything about this place. Delicious food ( not the cheapest but worth every cent and good wines. Very close to Rialto bridge but still a lot of authenticity!
Best cicchetti we had in Venice. Great service, great wine, great price, a little bit hidden from the main road so pretty quiet!
Brilliant Venetian wines, delicious canapés and a super lovely owner who looked after each of her guests personally. We had the Cabernet, a Traminer as well as a sparkling red wine and various canapés (see picture). The price-performance ratio was just perfect and we can highly recommend both the risotto and the tiramisu. For young people and the young at heart, for whom price-performance is more important than old-fashioned standards and who can cope with excellent wines in compostable plastic cups, you should definitely visit SEPA!
Definitely recommend! You can try a lot of local specialities. Be aware that theres no sitting available.
Google said you were open but a sign on your door says you reopen at 4:30. We walked quite a distance to get here, so please think about your clients when you do something like this. Please update your Google hours accordingly.
Went there thinking it looked nice on the outside, and it had good reviews. Ended up being quite terrible. We had 2 ragu stuffed zucchini one of which tasted sour which was worrying, and 2 small meatballs that tasted like curry, both of which were microwaved in front of us.We had a small rice dish which was okay at best but alas the only thing we actually ate off our plate. We left 17 euro worse off and very disappointed, caught a ferry to murano and had an awesome pizza and drinks without the crowds the misleading reviews or the high price tag. This would be getting one star however the service was nice and friendly.
We came here after reading the good reviews but sadly everything tasted quite old, stale and bland and was quite expensive for what it was. I wouldn’t recommend coming here, I actually didn’t enjoy anything that we ate
By far my favorite meal we had in Venice. The offerings are all in Italian so I found it a little hard to navigate the ordering but the staff was really nice in translating. I think if youre also not afraid of trying new things its easy to just order what you think looks good. Its very much a little hole in the wall by the Rialto bridge but wow, what great food. And the space itself is very clean and beautiful. We spent about 30 euros for two people including a half bottle of wine. I cant wait to come back to Venice just to have this meal again.
I have been there today and it was really an amazing lunch Don’t miss the lasagna con nero di seppia!!!! Excellent service and food! Will be back soon💃🏾
This is the chichetti experience I was looking for! English speaking server took the time to understand our preferences and gave recommendations that were on point! Everything was delicious!
Stopped here on our food tour with locals. Sampled refreshing wines and enjoyed a delicious serving of Risotto with vegetables and basil.
Stopped by here as part of the food tour and really enjoyed it. The cod cream and tiramisu were my favorites but all of it was really good.
Very friendly staff, price-quality top place with local food! Highly recommended
The red wine was excellent and well priced. The tapas were mostly ok, but nothing to write home about. No tables, standing room only.
Modern bacaro in a hip hidden corner of St Marco. Young-ish crowd. Wine selection a little limited, but can order 1/4 bottle at very reasonable prices. Roasted whole squid on polenta ciccetta was my favorite. Generous portion of daily special rissoto with speck, plus 3 ciccetta and 1/4 btl cab sav for 19 euro. Service friendly, speaks English well, and nice open kitchen.
Many different cicchetti to try and all of them really tasty. The service is really nice, they advise you very well. The wine also great and they give it in a bottle so if you don’t finish you can bring it with you anywhere.Highly recommended!
Tiramisu was good, could be more cremier.
Great place to grab a quick snack.Prices are affordable and quality of food is really great also they do have local wine in different size of bottles :)
Very typical Venetian place with small local dishes to share. We didn’t know what to order so they made us a nice mix. Also many vegetarian options. Nice wines. The only downside is that there are no chairs, but could be part of the typical Venetian experience.
Best food in Venice!!Quality, flavour, presentation and the staff. Mama mia!!!
This little place is always crazy busy! If you funcy standing in a queue for quite some time and then eating standing up (if you are lucky enough to find a pacewhile being squashed from everywhere- then you might love this place. 😁 Great variety of food there, especially after never ending pizza and pasta restaurants in Venice and its very refreshing to see so many good choices. I found the food a little bland if Im being honest, but very fresh and affordable.
This is the place for cicchetti. Found off the main walkways in what feels like the locals corner of Venice. The food is incredible with clear attention to quality and detail, evident by the team is chefs in the open kitchen just beyond. In addition, local wines served in a refilled bottle so that you can try many local wines. And all that at great prices. I’m even hesitant to give a review to not give up this spot to the masses. Don’t go for the “typical” and ask for recommendations for the best up at the moment.
Very tasty and regional food. Definitely worth a visit!
We were here on February 4 and it was spectacular. Our tour guide brought us and had the chef choose our dishes. Everything was so well prepared and delicious! The wine was also nice and plentiful. You purchase a small (single serving), medium (2-3 glassesor full (regular sized bottle of wine). They full a bottle of the wine you select from taps. Try the black ink cuttlefish risotto.
Great bites for aperitivo! We visited twice in our 3-day stay. The place is smaller than it seems in the photos so it gets packed easily. It would be nice to stay outdoor when the weather is warm.
As a seafood lover, didn’t really like it. The main issue was whatever you pick from the counter, they heat it up in a microwave so the seafood becomes really chowing. If you don’t like seafood and you want to grab another bite, cause they heat everything up in the microwave, you will get some seafood flavour in your dish.
Sepa was such a great experience! They are a ciccheti bar that serve up some amazing options. Most of them are seafood dishes buy there are also some mest and vegetarian options. Every single dish we tried was delicious. They also serve wine and beer to a very reasonable price. The staff was good too and we got the food and drinks very fast. Great place to start your evening at, or grab a nice lunch.
Great quality cicchetti, modernised. Very friendly staff. Its a lean against the counter sort of place. If you go at lunch time between 12:40 and 2 pm you can pick freshly made risotto. Very creative risotto. Also the beat thing is that if you dont wanna commit for the whole bottle of win you can get local prosecco white wine or red wine on draft in different quantities in half a little quarter or less.
Wow! This is by far some of the best food in Italy at a reasonable price. Trendy, delicious, and convenient. Service is quick. It is tapas style so don’t expect to sit down. They have several standing tables.
Good cicchetti (small platesthat changes day to day. Fresh quality local ingredients. There are local wine and DOGE beer to pair. Fun vibes with super friendly staff. Some standout dish for me was the squid ink polenta with topped with baccalà alla vicentina. The scallop was good as well. I asked for a pasta but learned afterwards the staple of Venetian cuisine is polenta and risotto and NOT pasta. I definitely regret not getting the risotto. This is a must try place if you are in Venice.
BEST FOOD and hospitality! This place was one of the few spots open in Venice at night (with delivery option as well). We walked in and ordered 2 first course and a fried fish platter. Spent a few minutes talking with the joyful girl at the counter, who told us how lucky we were to experience a unique, tourist-less Venice. She gave us a BOTTLE of sparking wine (of their cellaras gift!! The food was hot and DELICIOUS. Be sure to try the Venetian sweet - a deep-fried vanilla custard rolled in sugar. 😜
Amazing food and wine, Its a must to visit if you are in Venice!!! The staff is super!!!
Really loved the selection of Venice style tapas, well priced wine and warm and friendly staff. Really recommend this spot!
My boyfriend and I stayed in Venice for four days. Our hotel was pretty close to this spot and I’m glad it was. SEPA is a small wine bar/tapas bar. It is hidden so it took a minute to actually find it.This place was amazing, so amazing that we came here multiple times during our trip. They have several type of wines and they were all good honestly. He allowed us to try a few red wines (what I enjoyto pick which we wanted. I really liked the Cabernet. Here’s the best part... you can get wine bottles from like $3-$8 (depending on the size). The $3 bottle is actually a great size for having a couple glasses while hopping around bars. The food here was really good as well. There are tons to choose from and they are displayed right in front of you so you can look for yourself. I will say that my boyfriend was obsessed with the octopus from here. You order, pay and there are barrels and some areas around to stand up and enjoy.
Decent selection of cichetti, and the server was really helpful with explaining what everything was. Quite pricey though (€3 for a single piece of artichoke!), but a good selection, with a few vegetarian options.
Amazing selection of Italian “tapas”. Fresh ingredients made right there. Pumpkin and shrimp risotto was delicious! House red was also really good!
We went on a food tour and we had risotto and Prosecco, whilst I didnt really enjoy the risotto I had a look at the food at a lot of it looked really yum, pity we dont have enough time to go back as it looks like a place you could get a good feed. The only thing is that there is no chairs, so I couldnt see myself staying to long
This is very traditional Venetian food. Do not come here if you want to have sit down for a meal, as it is "tapas" style food. They do not have seats, but their homemade wine is awesome. It is hard to find, but worth it once you do. Please be aware a lot of tour groups come here later in the day (food tours and small tours), and its good to go in "off times" to get the most food
Very nice place with a nice atmosphere! The staff is kind and ready to explain every dish they serve and the typical cicchetti are great!
