Family-friendly exhibits with a variety of sea creatures (most offer play areas & group packages).
Kids loved it lots of different types of fish to see, The staff was very friendly and would definitely recommend.
Absolutely love it hereTwice weve been to Blackpool, both times weve HAD to visit. An amazing way to spend a few hours and fantastically educational.
Lovely aquarium. My son loves anything to do with animals. He loved seeing phoenix the sea turtle.
Came today, we have been to most of not all the sealife centres in England and can without doubt say this was the best one. The staff were lovely and it was all decked out for Halloween and they had trimmed it really well. Everything was spotless and the areas they did have far outshone any of the others we have been to. We may have to squeeze in one more visit before the week is out
Jaz was amazing and answered every single question with such in-depth knowledge, you can really tell shes passionate about her job and its so nice to see!The exhibits were well kept and the atmosphere was great, would visit again!
Wonderful attractions. Only thing rating down on is my sister-in-law was looking forward to seeing the beluga whales, which was advertised on their map, but the attraction wasnt available. Other than that, absolutely wonderful. The talk was amazing and the sea creatures are looked after with amazing care. Wonderful to see our wildlife being preserved.
Tickets only cost £2 as used my tesco vouchers, I get the normal price looking after all the fish but these days need to watch the pennies. It was good great place for kids, we spent about 20 minutes in here just because we were hungry, can spend longer if really pay attention and listen to the shows.
Really nice place, lots of different sealife to look at, friendly staff. But very busy!
This place is lovely, I saw many sea animals life and in both small and big state. I will love to go again!!!
Excellent experience, £20.50 P/P when paying on arrival, brilliant for kids and adults, there is toilets a cafe and a souvenir shop too
Great place to visit, loads to see. The kids explorer pack adds more fun for them for a few quid extra
This attraction is very worth it! We went online and paid for 3 attractions when in blackpool. Sealife was amazing and they had very helpful staff and very family friendly. We got to sit and listen to staff talking about the sealife in detail. They have a beautiful turtle that you can see and learn all about. Very good for children. The gift shop was well priced, lots of options.
We love visiting Blackpool Sea Life centre. It can get very busy but is definitely worth a visit whilst in Blackpool. You can usually get some good deals when purchasing tickets and our kids love it in there. Staff are friendly and helpful and there is such a big variety of fish and water creatures to see and learn about.
We visited here whilst on holiday in Blackpool. It’s a fantastic place. We were able to touch some of the animals in the rock pool at the start and then we walked through the attraction. The animals all seemed very well looked after and there was information on the walls of all the sea animals in the tanks. Would highly recommend a visit here
It was good but for the price I think it is bit expensive as we walked round in a hour, perhaps sell a bit more food wise.
Our family of 5 (3 adults, a 17yo and an autistic 9yovisited Sealife Blackpool on Tuesday 23 August 2022. We’d pre-booked tickets as part of the Blackpool Tower Big Ticket, which is great value if you’re planning on doing all the main tourist attractions during your holiday here. You need to select the time you’ll be visiting before you arrive, so make sure you’re aware of your time slot and be punctual for it (bearing in mind there may be a queue to get to the desk at busy times ie. summer holidays or half term)The Sealife Centre building is on the main promenade along with other attractions like the Blackpool Tower itself, the Blackpool Dungeon, Madame Tussauds and others. It’s a very large and impressive building and you can’t miss it due to the Sealife branding to the front and rear.Upon arrival and after waiting a short time in the queue (we had an 11am entry timewe were greeted by a friendly member of staff on the entry desk, who also offered us the chance to purchase a souvenir guide (we did!plus a free ‘spot the creature’ treasure hunt style ticksheet for kids, which we were impressed by but didn’t take as our autistic youngest wouldn’t have the patience.POSITIVES:Friendly & helpful staffLoads of sea creatures to seeOne way system around the attraction so everyone is moving in the same direction, plus you don’t miss anythingVery educationalThe ‘under the sea’ tunnel was amazing and we enjoyed seeing the sharks and huge sea turtle especiallyPositive feel to the place, plus a talk at the end about conservation work as well as the animalsGreat day out no matter what the weather, and for all agesNEGATIVES:Despite having a timed ticket, the attraction was absolutely mobbed when we visited. I know the place being busy is to be expected in the summer holidays, but being packed in like sardines wasn’t the ‘sealife’ experience we were hoping for. I don’t know if there are limits to the number of people per timeslot, and/or if people are let in off the streets during these booked timeslots, but the way it is now just isn’t working during peak times. We felt rushed around the attraction and didn’t get to linger long at any tank/area, that’s if we could even get to see the creatures in the first place due to the crowds at each part. Its SO hot. I understand that some of this may be down to the temperature the (tropicalsea creatures require, however in the height of summer it was just too overbearingly hot plus claustrophobic with the amount of people. I felt quite panicked at times due to the intense heat and claustrophobia, with the amount of people densely packed inside and the dim light levels. It affected my enjoyment of the attraction, unfortunately. Its SO loud – this is due to the amount of kids visiting during the summer holidays no doubt, but it had to be mentioned. Perhaps take ear defenders (like our autistic son had towhen you visit, if you’re sensitive to noise.High prices for souvenirs in the gift shop – again, to be expected I suppose at a seaside attraction during summer holidays, but had to be mentioned. Perhaps walk through quickly with blinkers on if you’re a family on a budget with beady-eyed small children! On the whole we really enjoyed our visit to Sealife Blackpool, it’s just a shame it was SO busy when we visited so we felt rushed, didn’t see as much as we’d have liked, and it was so overly hot and claustrophobic feeling. Worth a visit if you manage to snag a less busy time – and perfect for any day of your holiday come rain or shine. Took us about an hour and a half to get round it, lingering as much as the crowds would allow, of course.
Been to a few Sea Life centres. Found this one small in comparison to others. The staff were lovely though and know their stuff. Clean and not too busy either.
Wow probably the best sealife centre Ive seen, the animals have lovely space, was great seeing that they were so cared for.
First time here!Polite staff in the entrance and we where told where to go etc which was nice!Lots of things to look at there and the tanks look well kept indeed!Lots of information plates to read and keep you active as you wander around so that was a nice touch!Loved the giant tank with phoenix the turtle that was amazing!Well done folks!
Had a great time looked in the tank marked seahorses for a while but could not find them but its mostly wheel chair friendly and has mostly ok staff. The place was very busy when I visited.
Worth a visit but try and go at less popular times of the day. The centre is accessible but there is only one way in and out which can cause queues at the lift. The tanks are clean and the fish appear to be well cared for.
It had been great to see the wide variety of ocean animals, from all kinds of fish, seahorse, the green turtle to the gorgeous, fast swimmers: sharks. Didnt have to wait for too long at the queue to purchase the entry tickets, it was a weekday going there, not too crowded, there are clear signs visitors can follow for a suggested route, so that going through the amazing tour around the aquarium would be even smoother in terms of better time management.
Great place to visit. Very relaxing and lots of fish to see
Wow! This was much better than I was expecting. Its massive I thought this would be tiny but apparently there is a million gallons of water in here. The selection of fish is very varied as are the environments.
Lovely visit and good for families. Last visit was 30 odd years ago. Plenty of toilets. Interesting and interactive. The exit was not clear. (I am sight impaired so it might have been obvious to someone elseI did need help from my partner to navigate as the flooring and design is lovely and immersive but I had to be careful not to trip in places.
Used the Kelloggs cereal box vouchers to purchase tickets for myself and 5 year old. We went at 10am during the holidays and it was lovely and quiet. We were able to go around a couple of times. We stayed for about an hour and a half. Staff were very friendly and the gift shop had some very reasonably priced souvenirs. Will definitely go again.
Highly recommended for children and also adults. So much to learn about the world under water. The aquariums were huge and had a large collection of various species of animals from the ocean. A very nicely operated place by the staff.
Love this place! Kyle, the dude with the knowledge, was amazing!!!He really knew his stuff & was so engaging.I could sit in the aqua theatre for hours! 🥰
Fun time but it felt too short. Lots of interesting sea animals and a nice place to visit with your family.
Even with a long queue outside, we didnt wait long. Staff were friendly. Place was nice. Lovely to see all different sea life creatures.
Amazing got tickets as a bundle pack with tower etc ( make sure to check time on the ticket as you only get to a certain time). Had a look around and met the amazingly lovely staff. They were very informative and the animals were all clean and well looked after. Had a lovely shark, turtle and sting ray talk off of Kyle and it was amazing. Would definitely recommend.
Great Experience, I brought both of my children for the third time this year and they have enjoyed it everytime. We spent a good few hours looking at all the different sea life and learning about them. The animals all seem very happy and look well fed, the tanks and the building itself was very clean. We was in time for the "Turtle Talk" which was good fun and a learning experience in itself for both me and my children. We then ended the day on a new level when the children got to meet Peppa Pig, we pre purchased photos online with our tickets and they was worth every penny.Prices are fairVery clean facilitiesChild FriendlyLearning ExperianceFun and enjoyable10 out of 10I would recommend this location to my friends and family and just anybody that is looking to experience a good quailty time.We would like to thank all the staff and sea animals there for making our day wonderful. Thank you.
Had a brilliant couple of hours here, lots of great aquatic life to see and a lovely and well looked after venue to see them in. Loved the shark talk and it kept our family captivated because of the very informative and interesting talk, would definitely visit again!
Small but lovely. Takes an hour to get around when its not busy. Thats more than enough time to have have good look at everything. One way system which is great as cant get lost and dont miss out on anything. Friendly staff, nice and clean and suitable for the pram. Tanks are huge and also clean with the fish well looked after. Huge baby changing facilities which was great.
Absolutely fantastic day out with my 3 year old grandson, every area held his fascination and he did not get bored, he was so excited to see everything the first time around was a whirlwind, we went around 4 times, he even touched the starfish and crabs in the touching pool earning himself his badges which can be gained from the staff at different locations and exhibits. There is only 1 set of toilets throughout the complex which can be a bit of a pain if your youngster is far away from them, staff will gladly show you the way but is still a bit of a pain.As with all these attractions photos are taken and prices start from £15 you are not obligated to purchase them and you can even by pass having them taken if you wish. There are staff stationed throughout the exhibition who talks about the area and the animals you are in, you can ask as many questions as you wish and they do their best to understand younger childrens questions (you may need to translate 😀).There is no cafe on site but a good size eating area where you collect your photos from and right next to the gift shop before you exit. You have to book online for access to sea life attractions but there are no social distancing once inside so some animals can be surrounded by others taking pictures (Flash off).We went on Friday 22nd April 22 and it was busy due to the school holidays. You can not take your pram/buggy in you store it at the front entrance, I didnt see any prams at all in the exhibit but plenty of babies being carried. There is a lift if you need it or stairs, taking either will not reduce your experience. We spent from 11.15am until 2.45pm inside the aquarium because my grandson loves to do this 😆, he definitely gets his moneys worth out of the day. This aquarium is better in our opinion than the Manchester one, yes further to go depending on where you live, but at least with Blackpool you have many other options available from the beach to arcades. There are plenty of food outlets as you can imagine so you can spend as many hours as you like in Blackpool, I would suggest capping your spending limit though 😆.So another fantastic day out and more memories made.
Good if you dont pay full price - definitely not worth the full price. Get NHS discount or something and combine with other Blackpool attraction deals to save money
I enjoyed it but my 4 year old son didnt. He was scared. The way it is set out is very dark and creepy. I entered through the door and two men asked me to sit down so I did and thought I had to sit and wait to go through or something. I was so embarrassed when they said its a photo lol. Then I started sitting straight and smiling for a photo but my son wouldnt... Lol. I wish they had said would you like to have your photo taken? If I said yes then ask me to sit not just immediately ask me to sit.
Me and my boyfriend visited during our holiday in Blackpool, we didn’t know what to except being adults however we had a lovely time! It is more children orientated however we still had an amazing time, it only took us about an hour and half to get around the whole place so would recommend doing the morning and making other plans in the afternoon
I took my 1 year old and he loved it, the only issue is that there is one lift that is quite small. I love going to the sea life centre its amazing
So during my visit we were originally supposed to go to the Blackpool tower but this was changed to the Sea Life due to them not telling us that the tower was under maintenance. This was obviously a bit of a change of what we were supposed to do but it was a really nice experience going here instead and we really enjoyed ourselves seeing all of the sea life.
Fantastic afternoon out!! Staff are some of the most friendly/helpful/well-informed at any attraction Ive ever been to. The entire site is beautiful and well designed. As well as there being such a fantastic and wide variety of sealife!!
An incredibly relaxing and informational experience! I could easily spend all day watching the various fish exhibits throughout the attraction. A great day out for families and adults alike! The staff are friendly, the sections are kept clean and the pricing is definitely good value.
Had a great time with my family here. My daughter who is only 8 months old was really excited watching the fishes, listening to the ambient sounds and looking at the various lighting on show. Its a very interactive and informative experience, the staff there were very knowledgeable and always on hand to answer any questions we had. We even had a couple of staff randomly come chat to us and take us on a one-to-one tour providing us with such interesting and useful information and knowledge. Due to visiting during the out of season period, there was not many visitors about which gave us plenty of time to explore. The attraction could have been larger but for the price we paid you cannot grumble (received a Blue Light Card discount). Thanks to all of the staff who contributed to our pleasant experience here. Keep up the great work guys!
Amazing place to visit when in Blackpool! Me, my wife and son visited here on a busy Saturday afternoon. Staff were polite friendly and the place was lovely. Would highly recommend a visit here if in Blackpool for the day.
Small, but packed with lots of things to see and touch. The underwater tunnel is one of the biggest Ive been to. Lots of sharks and rays, and the tank that they are in, you can walk around and get loads of different angles to take pics from. As aquariums go, its not the best, but its pretty darn good and worth the price of admission.
Really recommend it! Make sure you look carefully in each area, and look closely in each tank! It was bigger than we expected, and well worth the money. Combined our ticket with one for the tower eye, and it worked out cheaper.
Beautiful well kept healthy aquariums of large scale. Beautiful fish, crustaceans, sharks, rays and a few turtles.Expensive entry and the one way system means you go through once and then youre done but can be done in just over an hour so dont plan your whole day there.
Lovely trip out. The lady at the touching rock pool was lovely. The whole place was amazing ! Will be back again. Kept me and my mum captivated for the whole time. Very disabled accessible. Only downside was lots of people around and not limited number of people .
A Great fay out todayWe booked the 3 tourist events and sea life was oneWas 10 off us and no issues walking around, no need for masks which is great to see.Everything looked clean.Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.Highly recommend if visiting Blackpool
This is a brilliant day out for the whole family no matter what the age. We loved seeing all the animals and the best bit was experiencing the largest tank which has a giant sea turtle and sharks in and the even tell you about the animals. Its reasonably priced and there is wheelchair access. You can buy souvenirs and also get a commerative picture while your there all at a good price . We had a fantastic day out and its close to other attractions.
