SANSE 152 Tapas Bar - Tapas bar in San Juan, Puerto Rico
Best empanadillas we had on our trip! Get the ropa vieja with mofongo! And the service was wonderful. Highly recommend!
Great mojitos, handmade empanadillas, and the Amandas took great care of us.
I will be thinking about the chicken empanadas here for A LIFETIME. Reasonably priced, came out quick, and the service was great. I have no idea what they could put in these to make them so delicious!
One of my favorite local restaurants, the food comes out juicy and with love.
You know when you walk into a place and aren’t quite sure what to expect? You look at each other and wonder if you should quietly just walk right back out? Well we are so glad we didn’t. This place, looks like a bar BUT it has an identity crisis because the food was amazing. However, the number #1 reason we stayed besides $5 Mojitos … this cuteness right here. The waitress was all the vibes. She greeted us with the biggest smile, she was so attentive and overall had the most amazing personality. As a small business owner, I can appreciate someone like this because good help is so hard to find. I hope the owners know what a super star she is. If she lived here, I would hire her.So …We had $5 Coconut Mojitos and $5 Piña Coladas and THE BEST Alcapurrias and Empanadas we are EVER had in our lives. While all the other places are jammed packed with tourists, this spot is a hidden gem in Old San Juan and if you visit, DO NOT pass this place up.
Had a pit stop at this location. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. We ordered couple of beers and juices. As suggested by the waitress the pineapple juice and passion fruit juices were great. There was hardly any crowd as we stopped at this location on weekday around 6 pm. I would like to try their menu next time when I am around.
small portions but still were pretty good
Nice place for Mojitos, Regular and Coconut.
It is right in the middle of San Sebastian street which also happens to be the heart of nightlife in Viejo (OldSan Juan. this whole street is live, buzzing till midnight and sometimes till 2 AM. so if you wanna get the vibe/ feel of nightlife, come to this street (Calle in Spanishhere. We entered, every server was busy, we saw one empty high table, settled ourselves and ordered fish tacos, Chicken Empanadillas, and a couple of drinks (Mojito & beer). Fish tacos were really good, the best we had in the old San Juan area. we were there for 50 odd minutes and went to another bar.the ambiance was good but cant say the same about service but as I said above- this is the scene in every other bar in that street. so this is normal there.also, happy hour is from 3 to 8 (like other bars)one thing to keep in mind- whatever the restaurant/bar/pub you visit in this area - your food order gonna take time, as these all are mostly there for drinks, of course, food items are there in the menu, but its gonna more then usual time, so if you are hungry, try other restaurants.Bar-restaurant in San Sebastian street- these are good for a couple of drinks & bar hopping.Note: To enter, they are asking for CDC Card (for vaccine check). You can also show a digital copy/Photo of it.
The server was amazing but the food was just okay ish.
Didn’t expect the pollo empanadas to be so good!!! What does it is that they all come filled with mofongo as well
Stopped in here for a drink as we tested out as many mojitos as we could in Old San Juan. Drinks were good and the bartenders were very nice. It wasn’t busy when we were there, but we walked past a whole later and it seemed to be picking up.
Great place for some Mojito. The customer service is excellent. The food is really good. I had the alcapuria, it was delicious.
Best empanadas ever!!!!!!!!!!!! The server was so friendly and helpful with looking at the menu. They have $5 happy hour before 8pm. Such a great find in old San Juan! 10/10
This spot is opened late and a must try when it comes to EMPANADAS. They have empanadas WITH MOFONGO and choice of meat. Your options are chicken, pork, beef, crab, ropa vieja, and shrimp. They were super fresh!! The mango martini was a must try. Steer away from the mojitos and margarita. My margarita was about a quarter missing.. and the salt on the rim barely touched it. We ordered coconut shrimp. This isn’t what you considered coconut shrimp with breaded panko or any of that. It’s 6 shrimps dipped in a magical sauce. $12 for the plate. Kind of overpriced for the lack of shrimp. I’d suggest for them to go JUMBO and charge that price LOL.Anyways, forget the drinks come for the empanadas.
The Coconut mojito is a must try , its amazing. Also the shrimp empanadas. The service was great.the music too (if you like salsaThe floor a little slippery other wise I would give them 5 *
Excellent food and drinks. Staff was very friendly.
Good food! I recommend the Shrimp mofongo platter. Its exquisite!!!
Great place at the San Sebastian. Super good taste and 5 stars service. Good prices
Food and drink amazing! Service awesome and super friendly staff! If I could give it 6 stars I would!! Muy deliciosa!
They have the meanest Chicken and octopus empanadas!! One of the best I had in Puerto Rico
Great drink prices, yummy fish tacos, and you have to get the crazy potatoes. Its a great location if you go here after visiting El Morro or just walking around Old San Juan.
Bartender was extremely nice and made me some great margaritas. Also had some food because of the drinking and didn’t expect it to be so good and beautiful! Definitely recommend! The prices where just right!
The pinchos (kabobshere are the best! Very well seasoned, juicy, and absolutely delicious! I will definitely be back! Great staff and the bartenders make great drinks! One of my new favorite places on Calle San Sebastian in Old San Juan!
Great coconut mojitos for only $5 everyday in Old San Juan. One of the happening bars to get drunks and for entertainment.
Awesome experience Sanse 152. The server/chief was wonderful. We have vegan coconut arepas that were delicious. The tostones were garlicky and so good. The chief also served us a shared coconut milk dessert that way light and amazing. He also treated us to coconut milk and cream rum shots. Highly recommend. So welcoming and fun!
My girlfriend and I were roaming the streets, two tired and hungry tourists looking for a quiet place to eat after walking around old san juan all day. We asked a friendly looking man on the street if he could recommend a quiet place to eat. He said you should come to my place in an hour when it opens... actually why dont you come now ill whip something up for you!The decor is mostly composed of unique beautiful paintings. We asked who made them and found out the owner is the artist! We had the best paella ive ever had with a amazing coconut cream dessert and mojitos to wash it down, we were treated very well. Thanks Sansa 152.
Great place to eat authentic local food!! Great ambiance and nice friendly staff. Great location too for walking around afterwards!
We had a couple beers and the sampler platter. Food was OK. pork was over cooked and tough. Good music outside
Pero que sitio mas Rico. Unos mojitos tan deliciosos. Tia Nilsa took such good care of us!. These are the much better hand made mojitos. The Spanish salsa music is just perfect. Authentic, delicious and pocket conscious. A must! If its ur 1st time in San Juan puertorico. Come here first!
Ordered mojitos and like 6 different kinds of tapas, and enjoyed them so much we thought we were in Spain. Two thumbs up to the chef and the serving staff. The Paellas is a must. Enjoy it!
It was empty and there was three workers of the place that lured in my friends. I thought it was weird. The place itself was cute and the owner or manager was friendly. It was empty and it took them over 10 minutes to get my drink order and about another 10 minutes to get my drink. I got the "green" drink which was tasty and refreshing like it sounded but had too much ice and wasnt enough drink.
Awesome owner and bartenders. Salsa playing. Chill atmosphere. Always has happy hour specials. Chorizo empanadas were very good. And the pique de la casa was also delicious
Just wandered into this bar randomly because they had a happy hour on multiple drinks, but in my photo are piña coladas which were honestly the best Ive ever tried - really fresh and made in front of you. Staff were really friendly and dancing to the music so it was a great atmosphere! If I ever visit PR again Ill definitely visit this bar!
Tapas are very tasty. Bartenders were super friendly. There is old salsa playing on the background. Overall great experience.
Delicious tapas. We had the fried cheese, mofonguitos with crab meat, tostones, and lamp empanadas. Our waitress was attentive, she even offered to take a picture of us!
Best meal weve had since arriving in Old San Juan. Coconut arepas with cod were especially delicious.
Delicious! Great service!Very tasty handcrafted cocktails. Happy hour all day long! $5 cocktails! The staff is absolutely wonderful! Will be back!
Excellent food, great customer service. Food is not expensive at all when it comes to the name of its restaurant “Tapas” which for Spanish is starters. Great choice!
We accidentally bumped into this place. It looked like a cosy, quiet place to eat at so we decided to walk in. We were welcomed by a couple of very warm people. The person attending us was exceptional. Even though we had some trouble understanding each other, we managed to order all the dishes we wanted to. The food was great. The ambience was great too. Most importantly the people were great. A definite 5 star for this place.
Night one: we stopped in for cocktails after searching for a place for drinks on a Saturday night and busy bar street. We had great service and good cocktails and AC!! A little annoyed they werent filled cocktails glasses, about 3/4 full, but they were good.Went back for lunch on a Sunday, I had coconut shrimp tapas which were fantastic, zucchini fritters appetizer which were decent. A little mushy but I understand that given the water content of zucchini. My husband ordered the Pork Loin dinner with rice. He was a little frustrated to find that it wasnt pork loin, rather pork belly. He isnt a fan of fatty meat and you could hardly cut the meat it was so tough. He ate maybe 1/4 of the dish. When the waitress came he expressed his dislike of the meal. We received no acknowledgment and paid our $58 bill plus tip, because we are nice, and left.Id go back for drinks and snacks, but maybe not a meal.
Cute and cozy gay bar in Old San Juan. The Mojitos and Sangria are top notch and the Tapas are out of this world!
We were lucky to happen upon this place just down the street from a restaurant our guidebook had suggested that was no longer in business. The tapas were excellent, interesting sauces and flavors. We had the fried meat with peppers and yellow plantain, the fish with guava and rum sauce, the spinach and feta turnovers, and the fish tacos. All four were delicious and unique. The sangria, mojitos, and cava were also yummy, and only $5. Dont miss this spot in old San Juan!
Great drinks, food, and service! Not the best tapas Ive ever had but also not the worst. We got a chicken paellita which was a bit undercooked and full of chicken bones with little meat, the fish tacos and mussels were subpar, but the croquetas and coconut shrimp were tasty!
Easily one of the best restaurants in San Juan. This Spanish / with Caribbean accents, restaurant has a large and interesting selection of deliciousTapas as well as main courses. Add professional service, spotless decor, a sound level that allows for pleasant conversation, excellent prices for the quality of the cuisine and you cant do better in Puerto Rico.
The best restaurant I visited in Puerto Rico ...PERIOD!!We were looking for an authentic puerto rican food with VEGETARIAN selections and were referred to this place..I am glad I walked a few blocks to get here..and it was totally worth it.We had their Quesadilla, Mofongo and Stuffed peppers..they were just amazing..we ended it with Guava Tres leche cake..the waitress was so friendly and spoke English really well..the ambiance was great and the neighborhood looked extremely safe to walk even around 11 pm with family.
Good service, good food. Most dishes are on point. Drinks were good too and price was moderate, maybe slightly cheaper than what youd pay for tapas in the states.Or favorite dish was the paella, it was good enough that my wife kept on going on about it for the rest of the trip. We even ordered a to-go order for her.
I dont want to leave a review, beacuase I dont want anyone else to know about this perfect gem. Authentic, local food heaven.Marginally let down by a lack of knowledge on the cocktail front, but you drink too much anyway. Suck it up.
We devoured the tapas and had great drinks. They were out of the tostones and instead used sweet plantain and it was an absolutely amazing substitution. Good drinks great service even better food, definitely stop in!
The Tostones here were the best Ive had, amazing drinks too!
