Rutherglen Exchange Shopping Centre - Shopping Centre in Kilmarnock, United Kingdom
A very busy shopping centre the car park itself is a absolute nightmare. The machines seldom work correctly some are facing into the sun and are unable to be read correctly.I ended up paying £1.50 pence for my short stay.I know that its got nothing to do with the shopping centre. But they should be very concerned as to what these customers are going through day in and day out?. These machines are out of date. When you try to contact the company concerned its a total waste of your time and money. My advice dont bring your car!!!!!!!
The car park is a joke. Enter your reg on a screen that can barely be seen! Try and pay get a fine dont pay get a fine!
Centre was really quiet not many people about
Rutherglen definitely needs updating very poor shopping centre. Was better back in the day
Like a scene from a zombie apocalypse. About half of the units in darkness, buckets on the floor to catch falling water with no safety signs around them and no support staff to be seen. It was a game of dodge the weirdo. Shame really because the staff of the 3 shops I was in were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Feel for them having to work in Rutherglen though, its not the place it used to be
Not much in here. Free parking sundays
Not a bad place to shop although most shops are closed on a Sunday I dont see any point in opening the arcade on a Sunday
Brilliant Sunday afternoon spent playing American pool 🎱 with my friends in Mcgoldricks sports bar 🍸 😀
Got everything u need better than Cambuslang as its just a few pubs nothing interesting. At least you have decent people and shops, banks and every other shop before u hit the town 😎😎😎
Should be more pet friendly. Silver burn are trialling this. Wont even let you tie your dog at the front entrance out of the rain. Such a shame we were turned away today. Would have spent money in the butchers and home bargains. Just went home disappointed 😞
Good selection of shops
A went to the arcade for a bit of lunch in the cafe at the middle of it was OK. Went to a few shops its pa change from were I usually go got a toastie a pot of tea N a slice of caramel cake.
Nice wee place to entertain the wee one for half an hour. Grab a coffee and out her on a few of the wee carnival based rides. She loves the horsie.
Dont know how its still open to be fair, handfull of shops and not good ones either, place is clean and tidy right enough
Its functional, feels a bit dated but has all the essential shops for your daily needs living in Rutherglen and its indoors which gives you a restbite from the often damp and wet climate.
Be carful when using the car park guys. The machine printed previous registration on my ticket. I didnt even check and got a £100 fine through door. The centre could be doing with a few more shops in it but charity shops are good.
Really needs a makeover or demolition. This used to be full of interesting shops, now just full of "interesting people".Dont even consider using the car park unless you want a penalty notice.
A small but convenient shopping centre with rooftop parking and a cafe
In and out in 20ins no hassle wae parking
Fantastic friendly butcher shoppe in there. My go to butcher shoppe everytime I come over for a visit to Ecosse.
Very sad to see local shops losing quality and variety. I couldn’t find any place selling simply shoes. The shopping mall needs to change as a market place may be.
Someone in management needs to learn some basic good manners
The home store is very good but not much else to bring me back unfortunately.
Plenty of good shops and places for food
Couple of nice eating places and some good shops not to bad also a toilet on site.
Shocking parking, got fined 100 pounds despite putting enough money in meter, they are scamming people
Driver paid £0.50 for parking only for keeper to recieve a £100 """fine""" weeks later. Wont return here. Not that theres anything worth going back for.
Sadly its dying, loads of lossers hanging about empty shops just looks run down now
Excellent town centre would recommend to any one
One star is for the parking as I was dropping off my son now ive received a letter wanting £100 for they say 10 minutes and its £1 for three hours so big difference please watch out and remember dont pay its not legal action
Done well to fight of closure with all the out of town shopping, great wee place
Great wee shopping centre with a decent selection of shops. Got a huge Home Bargains, a large Shelter charity shop that mainly does furniture etc, a fantastic butchers shop, and two good cafes among other things. Parking area above accessed via Greenhill Road with large lift access to the centre below.
Not a big mall but you may find most of the daily necessities here.
Only visited Home Bargains.(A bright friendly store). Arcade itself very quiet but clean.
Nice and quiet wee place with a great butchers and a couple of nice wee cafes as well as a number of other stores.
Not bad for a wee shopping centre one or two good shops not bad for the locals. Would recommend a visit if just passing.
Great Place only just heard about it but had the best time of my life with my Granddaughter Thanks
This is like most town shopping centres these days. Biggest shop is Bargain Buys and also a Peacocks. They have a Shelter charity shop which is mostly furniture. There is a Coffee Shop in the forecourt which has good coffee and a few card and gift shops. Apart from Bargain Buys I would not shop here very often.
Visited various shops when there like Waitrose and Aldi, also has the best Barnardos in the Glasgow area.
Sadly like most small towns the main street and sho8arcade are fill with betting shops , 2nd hand shops and takeaway although the town hall and old graveyard nearby are interesting places to visit
Only go for b&m and the cafe thats been there forever . It does real chips and descent food there is also an outside cafe it looks busy but never tried it. Its also got a good butcher shop
Regularly visit here , pity about the small toilets where no one feels safe, the leaking roof, teenagers running through on bikes, no security guards present, no decent clothes or shoe shops.Wonderful staff in all shops. Greenhouse Cafe has a great menu and fabulous lovely atmosphere with great staff.Perhaps a new management team is needed to make this small arcade viable?
The car park machines wouldnt take my card and I never had change. The centre itself is great. Butcher is excellent!
A great shame to see so many shops closed. I could buy a coffee at Greggs but had to go outside on the pavement to drink it as there are no seats inside. It should be better when the Lockdown is eased and I shall be back again.
Social distancing doesnt really exist in here. Masks appear to be optional. Its not got a great selection of stores, but its existence and the shops in it make it better than most other high streets/main streets nearby.
The center needs alot of updating, i felt like I went back into time (1980s)..although its fairly clean. The butchers in there is good... best sausages!! Homebargains is decent. If you do park on the roof...make sure you keep the receipts for more than a month. I had the parking company send me a fine for £100 even though I know I paid for the parking.
Recently more variety of stores and 2 goodCafés. There is a choice of two card shops, an arts and crafts/ games and books store. Two chemists. Two card and gift shops. A Home Bargains. A Family Butchers, 2 opticians and 2 very different charity shops. One big clothing store and a smaller outlet. No doubt one or two I have missed.
Has a few popular stores in one location. B&M bargains, Peacocks, Super drug, cards, butcher and smaller independent clothes and shoe shops. A supermarket within the center would be great but there is Co-op and poundland just outside the main doors. I like looking round the charity shops and there are 2 bigger (shelter, selling mostly furniture and Salvation Armyones here. 2 cafes both doing traditional food, I recommend both x
Good selection of shops and a few things to entertain the kids.
The shopping centre has always been a nice place. The pros are still has a good selection of shops also a nice cafe area for a quick coffee or snack. The downside is it does need a facelift other then that its a nice piece to go shopping.
