Rutherford's Punting Cambridge in Cambridge

Hi!We did a tour and everything was perfect! The guide was wonderful, he knows how to make the tour both entertaining and interesting, we learned a lot. We definitivly recommend this punting company!

John was a great tour guide! He made the journey pass by in a flash (perhaps a little too quickly haha). He told us interesting tidbits and was able to answer our questions. Would definitely recommend!!

The boats are the best with tables and blankets. John was particularly knowledgeable and shared really interesting facts. I took my elderly parents and the lady helped him in and out of the boat. Highly recommended.

Good company to book punting tour with, reasonably priced. Overall session was just under an hour. Would have been disappointed to have payed more with some of the competitors.

Our second punting trip with Rutherfords and will definitely be visiting again. Tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Meet and greet staff were helpful and friendly. Punt is extremely clean and comfortable, umbrellas offered to protect us from the sun/blankets to keep you warm when it’s cool and tables in the middle for drinks, your own or from the punt bar, if your lucky enough to pass it.

We took a Rutherfords private punt tour and we were very happy. The punt was well maintained, had comfy seats, umbrellas and blankets too. Our guide and punter Max was knowledgeable and fun. Rutherfords might be a smaller Punt Company but you felt like they wanted to be there and give you the right experience.

We booked a private punting trip on a Saturday morning for a midday trip and are so glad that we did. We were lucky enough to have Pip as our guide who had plenty of interesting stories to share as we leisurely made our way up and down the river. I would definitely recommend doing this if youre in Cambridge

Booked through Rutherfords for a proposal punting experience. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Our chauffeur on the river Pip was brilliant and made us feel really relaxed. It was a magical experience and they advised on when and where I should propose....and thankfully she said Yes!I would fully recommend these for anyone looking for a relaxing trip down the river Cam. We will be back again to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

We had a great time on the punting tour. The boats were nice, clean, and comfortable.I didnt catch the name of our guide but he was brilliant.I would definitely recommend the boat ride, it was relaxing, especially as we had been walking a while.It was a lovely experience.

We enjoyed our punting experience! We booked our tickets on the day itself. It is very affordable as compared to many other companies. The boat was big, new and comfy. Our guide was engaging and knowledgeable too. I cant remember our guides name. But she is definitely a dwayne johnson. She got us all good.

Bit pricey compared to other punting companies but Rutherfords is a bit more high end as a nicer boat and a table between guests so you can bring your own drinks etc. Narration of the trip is a bit dry, perhaps find some more interesting stories to spice it up with ;)A must do when in Cambridge though.

Very experienced service providing an extremely fun hour learning a bit about the colleges and enjoying the amazing views from the water and hilarious antics on it! Everyone else was also very jealous of the table that Rutherfords provided for drinks and snacks 🍾🥂

We had a fantastic experience with Pip, a knowledgable and easy-going Cambridge native. The haggling that happens up front with all the punting companies is not great: would prefer a more transparant method. But to be fair Rutherford’s offered us the best deal.

Took a group of friends at the weekend every second of it. The guy at the booking desk was great fun while we waited on our boat (sorry didnt get his name). Our guide John was fantastic - he really made the trip from answering all our questions to posing for photos. When we were getting off he even suggested a few must see spots. Couldnt recommend enough.

Great and very informative tour! It was a rainy day in December, but Rutherfords Punting kindly provided the blankets and umbrellas to keep us warm and dry. Our guide, John was very professional, super knowledgeable about the history of Cambridge and overall he made our tour an amazing experience and even suggested a few good local places for dinner and drinks. Price-wise I think it was very affordable for a party of 5.

Lovely morning ride on the river with John! He was very informative, polite and professional. The boat was spacious and we were provided with an umbrella to shelter ourselves from the rain, overall great experience! Price was fair, better than other companies as far as morning rates go.

Fantastic experience punting with this company. Booked a private punt for my dads birthday, we were running late and they fit us in an hour late rather than cutting our trip short. Lovely experience and we brought a picnic on the punt

Loved our experience with Rutherfords. Booked last minute on the train to Cambridge. Found it no problem. They had a nice new PFD for our kiddo. The boats were very nice and by comparison to the other outfits on the Cam seemed the best in town. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and we had a great time.

A very goor activity. Would recommend booking online. On spot prices are high. Even if you just show them online price, they are happy to offer same price on spot. Recommend

Visited Cambridge last week with my daughter and mum and we had a fantastic time punting on the river. Pip was great and shared lots of history with us. Rutherford’s had the best looking punts and the staff helped me to get down the few steps to the punt and to get in and out. This I really appreciated as I have some mobility issues so thank you.

Best punting tour ever! We had been in Cambridge before and we can say that this was our best experience in the city! Everyone was extra nice and the price was incredibly low. Best part of the experience was our guide Pep, who was really funny and attentive. It was great to spend some time with him and listen to the history of the city. Really nice conversation! I totally recommend 10/10

Had the pleasure of being guided by Bradley back in January . Humorous, knowledgeable and well spoken leading to a rather entertaining and informative journey through an idyllic backdrop. If you are not afraid of the cold, it is rather peaceful time on water as the faint hearted are indoors.Definitely worth the punt.

Tried them through a good deal through Groupons and it was a great experience. The punter, Andy (if my memory is rightwas professional and with a good sense of humour.There are expensive punting companies, but I found this best value for money. Overall it was an experience which I would recommend.

Worth a punt!!My wife and I enjoyed our punting experience with our tour guide Owen, even though he got his Quant pole stuck in between some rocks (see pic). Owen had good knowledge and was happy to answer any questions.I even had an opportunity to have a punt my self and I didn’t fall in.Would definitely recommend this trip.

We have been visiting Cambridge for the first time on my husband’s birthday. We have been offered a private tour boat and Byron was the best punter we could ever have. He explained us the history of all the iconic buildings of Cambridge along the river. He was very friendly and helpful, we took us some nice pictures in the most important spots of the tour.I would definitely recommend Rutherford’s for punting in Cambridge. There are loads of punting companies along the river but Rutherford’s is the best by far.Would definitely return in the summer time for a nice day out.Thank you Byron and thank you Rutherfords Punting

Had an amazing time punting on the river today with Pip our guide, he was a thoughtful young man and was courteous with my 92 year old grandmother. He was knowledgeable about the colleges and was very informative. Cant rate highly enough.

We had a great little tour down the river, Ian who was chauferring the group was great. Was very busy on the river lots of bumps on the way (by no fault of Ian- as he explained it, imagine driving along the roads with only other drivers that had either never driven before or were learning to drive!His knowledge was great and I still remember the interesting little things he said about some of the colleges and bridges.Unfortunately the punt was made up of a load of people that didnt really interact or were on their phones!!!! Only myself and my partner seemed to be asking any questions or listening to what he was saying - was almost like having our very own private tour (ignoring the fools at the back shouting every time there was a little bumpgood job Ian you did great! (Even if you lost your stick!)
