Rusty's - Gay bar in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
Went here and got spiked. Staff were rude, It was dirty whole experience was vile. wouldnt advise going here.
Been here tonight, for a Tuesday night quiet as youd expect. However, rotten dirty stinking ladies loos, disgusting. Clearly not checked by staff when bar NOT busy. One loo out of order, loo floors COVERED in drink, smashed bottles, glasses, loo paper. No soap at all. Covid is still killing people, yet this place rotten told mens loos as bad. Ill be ringing environmental health tomorrow. Told bar staff, not interested!!!
Absolutely loved this venue. Went with my friends and we had a great time. Great atmosphere and top notch staff. Loved the banter from the drag Queen DJ cant wait to go back
Don’t think I could love this place more than I already do . I end every night out here cause of the great atmosphere and music . 🎶
the nezer boys
Im glad to see other reviews mentioning how its packed with straight men who try to intimidate queer people. theres no supervision, gets so full of hyper masculine straight men that forget theyre in a queer venue and start judging people or making out with girls reminding us that we are a minority in our safe space. Newcastle night life is overrated in general, but this place has went downhill in the past few years and nothing gets done about. Had two transphobic incidents here and Im never going back. Like someone said this is a place where night outs go to die. Dont waste your time. Quite upset after tonight and its put me in such a negative headspace.
alright if you’re there at the right time with a group, but if you’re going as a gay person expecting to see others don’t even bother. mostly full of straight scary men and i can’t say i’ve ever been without getting harassed or intimidated by one. tunes aren’t the best either
Rustys is where good nights out go to die. Theres nothing wrong with the place but in my experience every time a night out has ended there it has ended in tragedy. Extremely cursed location but tbh they might have the best Skittles in newcastle.
This place used to be a really great night out not anymore. A lot of fighting and trouble happens here a lot never going back and it’s not very LGBTQ friendly anymore
Busy bar club .but too much trouble..otbof teenagers...drinks over priced ...free entry .looks tired ...needs investment ...
dan was an amazing help! so lovely and even gave me a bin bag so i wasn’t sick all over the taxi, an amazing club would 100% recommend!!!!!
Amazing time amazing staff especially Dan who dealt with splitting my tequila.into half shots coz JM a whip 🤣
I visited Newcastle for a night and tried several bars before I found Rustys. It is a magical place!
Love Rusty’s, great music and cheap drinks, although it’s technically a gay bar the crowd is 90% straight people
Safe feeling environment, friendly staff! Love it here ☺️
Love the layout and design.Bar staff a bit ignorant but not a huge tragedy as my friend just ordered while I sat down 🙂
I like it in here. But where is the bass. ;The audio system just seems a bit out of date. But the atmosphere is fantastic and a MUST. Even if you are not "a gay". Lol.
A fantastic bar. Its always been warm and friendly, with great staff and music.
Is it dog friendly?
Nice bar.
Love it babe
Unusually Moist. I also believe that in fact it was shaggy, and that Whitney did indeed have more to give, hence the next two verses.
Fricken awesome. Great tunes. Dance offs galore.
Great fun, busy at weekends
Loved the music and atmosphere
An ok place for a drink in a gay bar in Newcastle
bouncers are always lovely, music is always fun, the drag queen djs are amazing, floor can get a bit sticky, but its always a great end to a night out!
I work there
Great bar with a fabulous atmosphere. Love the music. Its always lively. Gets packed but thats not a problem with out door seating area which is a great place to chill for a while. Fab staff. Great doormen aswell. Get yourself along for a great night..
When it comes to Rustys you have fun. No matter ylif you are gay or not, male or female :)
Great music, reasonable prices.
Visited Rustys for the first time last Saturday. First impression was promising but it went downhill after that. There was a good mix of people, the music was good if a bit too much modern pop, the door staff unobtrusive & the toilets were ok. However, there were too many dancing divas, prices a bit expensive & to say the bar staff upstairs were rude would be an understatement. I was ignored by both of the barmen in favour of four other customers (all female!! dont know if thats significanteven though one of them acknowledged me at one point - standing at the bar with money in hand I thought was a clue to my need for service. I left (with my boyfriendafter such appalling service & had a much more enjoyable time at The Bank where the staff could not be faulted & the atmosphere was less pretentious.
Love it! Great atmosphere (especially on Mondays). Attracts a friendly crowd and plays cheesy music that is great to dance to, the staff all seem really nice too which is good. Do keep in mind that booze is a little more expensive than elsewhere
Nice looking bar with loud, cheesy music.
Its okay, pretty pricey though, but always full of nice people and you end up making friends
Was out on a hen night and came across this bar ... we loved it fab music friendly staff clean and well looked after and best bit plenty of space to relax and dance couldnt fault it fantastic
Great bar. Big, reasonably priced, friendly plays mix of cheese/dance/pop
I first came to the bar at 16 years of age I got in, partied around a lot. I didnt really go back till I was 19. And Im in love with it more than ever. The music can be improved. Prices are average and the DJ shes called "Rusty" is a living legend!
Nice place, nice surroundings
Stereotypical gay bar playing poor music
Awesome night, awesome bar =D
Rustys is the place to go if youre gay and on a night out in Newcastle. Its a great bar with a wide selection of drinks and friendly regulars and staff. Also, it has a stage for everyone to get up on!
Have been here a few times, good bar the crowd can be mixed and open late.
A great bar, Im definitely a regular now, you hear some interesting stories too, but its not too expensive and has some very exotic décor.
Went here the other week and ooooofft got jiggy with some seriously hot guys I was slut dropping all over the floor, awesome place to chill and get pulled! Good poppers to you loosen you up 😉
