Great food, extremely friendly staff. Just what we needed for a quick family dinner!

Wife and I stopped by on Tuesday. In town for a volleyball game. Door was opened by waiter. Seated quickly, great service!! Drinks kept full. Had the 1/2 pound burger fries and wife had club with clam chowder. Everything was hot and tasted great. Very pleased with service. Waiter was Polite and on top of things. Definitely will visit again. Very pleased.

I took my grandson to the train museum, then we came here for snacks afterwards. The building is soooo cool, and the service was awesome. The guy even got down on my grandsons level to take his order. Brady thought that was very nice. Brady loved his grilled cheese and I was delighted to find a veggie burger! Yall need to try this place!

Fun place with yummy food and the most friendly & polite employees. Will definitely return when in Brownwood.

What an amazing find! We were driving by and had to turn around and go back to check it out. To say the staff was amazing would be an understatement! It was the best service we have had in forever!!! The food us also great. My husband had the clam chowder and ruben. I had the potato soup and club sandwich. Both were perfect. This is a must to visit if you are near!

So neat! Take advantage and visit the owners bookstore in downtown as well. The waitress was extremely customer oriented even when she started getting busy and a sweet little girl even came up and hugged her while she was taking our order. Everything here has been meticulously picked out to fit the theme. I had new England clam chowder and was extremely nervous about ordering this dish in the middle of Texas. It was delicious! Treat yourself and get pictures while you are here. The train even sits on railroad tracks! There is also someone there to get the door to greet you and tell you goodbye!

This place has super staff! They great you at the door. Call in orders are ready before you are! Delicious food all the time, not to mention dining in on an actual rail car! Love it💙

We have always had great experiences here! Such a fun, unique, place to eat! Delicious fried pickles, burgers, salads, soups and sandwiches! Yum + desserts too! Definitely try it out!

Lovely atmosphere. Delicious grilled chicken sandwich and we all loved the fried pickles. Also if able try the ice cream pecan pie.

Such a great experience. The train car is really cool looking and is a fun environment.I was greeted at the door as it was opened when I came up. The wait staff was quick to ask what I wanted and was helpful with questions about the menu.I ordered the quarter pound burger since I was getting dessert. I also got the cheese fries. The burger tasted fresh and had good seasoning and the fries were crispy with the right amount of cheese and jalapeño bacon.I got the pecan ice cream pie and it was very good. Hit the spot. Such a good meal.I also wanted to say that the servers were great. Another customer fell outside on the steps and 2 girls went out to help her and checked to make sure she was ok.Great job!!

The food is really good, but for me what makes this place so great is the people. They are so friendly! The burger is probably one of the best Ive had. If you like clam chowder, it is really good too. The restaurant is a neat little train car turned into a diner and is a neat atmosphere.

Wonderful stop on the way home. Atticus and Patty were wonderful servers, atmosphere was welcoming and the food hit the spot! They even held the door for us on the way out! We will stop again.

Food is good and service is usually great. The menu doesnt have alot of options but what is on there is great. Definitely recommend for a burger.

Omg by far the best burger and fries I have ever had! The food came out perfectly hot and juicey! The whole experience really made me say Wow this is an amazing restaurant!! Love the theme as well! Its cool to eat on a once used train! Really nice parking and they have to go as well! Super easy for people that need to use a ramp to get in as they have stairs to get up to the train. The staff and atmosphere were great! Believe its a family who owns it and my goodness they are just all wonderful! We had to get t-shirts from them and we hardly do that! Please please go visit them and check them out! I promise you will not be disappointed! If you are I will gladly pay for your meal! 😁

Menu has been downsized, brought me the wrong burger made that right, but not size I Had ordered. My refill on lemonade , was water, and no word about running out, as I heard another girl tell another table. Not their best for our out of town guests.

Passed through in my way to California and thought, "Who doesnt want to eat in a train?!" Great food and super nice staff, opening the door for each customer - its the little things that make a place great! Highly, highly recommend this little cafe!

The decor was really nice. Id never been in a rail car turned restaurant before. Quite unique. And the waitstaff was very helpful and nice. The food was good, not great. And I thought the prices were a bit high. Just my opinion, you might disagree...I am glad that I tried this place out. You might want to give it a go too...

Real good burgers, cheese fries were also very good. Hand-made shake was a great finisher. Off the main drag in Brownwood, so if you didnt know about it, you might not come across it

Love the people very professional, very clean, great home cooked burgers. The tater tots and fries are amazing. Great classical look to the restaurant in general. Definitely wpuld recommened for anyone.

Upon arrival the door was opened for us by a smiling staff member. I took note that the staff made it point to open the door and greet every customer. I had a delicious thick well seasoned Bacon Cheese Burger. It was AWESOME! The hamburger patty had to be hand made. The staff was polite, friendly and attentive to ensuring we had everything we desired. Yes, they even opened the door for us and wished us well as we departed. Best Texas hospitality weve had...ever! 😃👍🏼

Nice local eatery with good sandwich/salad/soup, I shared a cheesesteak sandwich with my date and it was delivered on 2 plates with chips. It was good. Water was refreshed often, service great.

Our granddaughter had a football game in Santa Anna this afternoon. What a beautiful area, and a beautiful day. Afterwards, we had dinner at the Runaway Train Cafe, which is really a converted train car. The food and atmosphere were absolutely tremendous and the service and waitstaff superb. This will definitely go on my list of places to visit again.🙂👍

Absolutely loved this place. Excellent service, food, and atmosphere. Had the "spicy" (dont worry not too spicy at all!chicken salad on jalapeno roll as well as some pecan ice cream pie! Husband and I split the Texas Toothpicks and the 1/2 order was perfect size for the two of us.

What a fun atmosphere! The staff were super friendly and the service was great. We had to wait for a table but it was a pleasant wait. The burgers and shakes were great. My son loved dining in a train car and the staff were very sweet to the kids in the cafe. We will be back next summer when we visit.

We had lunch here and it was awesome. Typical diner fair, I had a hamburger with fries. It was a thick, juicy burger! Everything tasted great and our server was polite, friendly, and always ready to help us. The restaurant is in a old railcar, cute! Pricing was good, service was great!

This place was amazing all the way around! The staff held open the door as we walked in and were so friendly throughout our meal. The atmosphere was so neat for our kids, getting to eat inside an actual train car! The hamburgers were delicious and my husband had the jalapeno bacon cheeseburger. He said it was wonderful! Thanks for the great dining experience!

I was a little disappointed in the food based on all the outstanding reviews I’d read. Just your average burgers and shakes, but done well. Fries were crisp, atmosphere was rather fun and quirky.

This place is great!! When we arrived servers greeted us with an open door and a warm welcome. We sat down and the waitress took our drink order immediately. The service was excellent!! It has a diner feel in a really cool train car. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a chili cheese burger and both were fantastic. They were large burgers, the fries were delicious as well as the tater tots. The sweet tea was perfect and the waitress quickly gave us refills as well as offered to send us with a to-go drink. We will definitely be back!

Oh my God this place has the best hamburgers I have ever ate in fact everything they have there is wonderful this is such a cute Place being a never ever a car everybody needs to go here at least once.
