Its a little disorganized. We need to keep asking questions on what to do next, people are trying to sell all sorts of things, including the ones you dont need and they insist you do. Ex: you dont need the checkmig printed and they assure you do. Its good to do some money exchange on the street.
MoreOur boarder passing was very straight forward and easy! Just be aware that you need a different health form for each leaving Colombia and entering Ecuador!
MoreOk
To much disorder🤢
The procedures are pretty straightforward, but the officers at both ends made us wait as they were handling other cases while checking our documents.

Not scary as I thought it would be. No lines, no hassles, even carrying my dog.
Not well organized and as customary in Latin America the official business cant get the job done while the unofficial "tramitadores" are highly efficient. It sucks and is discouraging!
MoreBridge between Colombia & Ecuador. Very friendly people.
It is better at the Ecuador side (more clean and, but also as in the Colombian side, the lack of clear information is a problem.
MoreAmazing and historical moment having crossed that bridge after being into the "cage" for almost 2 years...
MoreGreat border there is comerce and you can get both sides currency and products in both sides... Border patrol is very nice...
MoreIt was okay, immigration was quick in both Countries Colombia and Ecuador.
Crossed today as a foreigner from Colombia to Ecuador. Check mig for Colombia was necessary to leave, arrived their with colectivo taxi around 7:30 and the exit of Colombia was super fast and easy. Need to wait until 8 until the Ecuadorian site opened and there were 7 people in front of me and I need to wait for 30 minutes as you need to fill out the health form of Ecuador again if you didnt print it for signing it.The migración itself was super smooth and the officer was super nice. As a foreigner you need the vaccination certificate, or vaccination passport or a pcr test (15.2.22).Afterwards went again with collectivo Taxi to tulcan.
MoreIts ok loads of traffic but ok
I crossed from Ecuador to Colombia today. Very easy. I didnt know about a checkme form I needed for Colombia. I nice lady at the Western Union on the Ecuadorian side did it for me (1$). I was there less than an hour.
MoreHey! I hope somebody can help us: is it possible to cross the boarder from Ecuador to Columbia at the moment?
Morethe place is too far away from the airport and need four hours for driving.
The Bridge is small, it is a point between Colombia and Ecuador
Waited 2 hours to go from colombia to peru!!
Went through from Colombia to Ecuador Monday around 10am. Colombia exit line took about 20 mins. Entering Ecuador took about 10 mins. The customs workers were all fine. My only complaints is with the beggars and impersonators. Man on the bridge dressed in a fake Ecuador customs outfit asking for your passport. Didn’t have any issues with fake taxis tho.
MoreBorder between Ecuator and Colombia, but it can take long time if you are hurry and you can change COP to USD and USD to COP with very reasonable prices
MoreIt was easy to do migration, exchange money and take cheap transportation to any site of the border
MoreSometimes slow/not enough immigration officials on duty on the Colombian side. Additionally, they will only let three-five persons in the large processing building at a time despite the weather or the buildings capacity. So dress warming/dry if arriving in the wee hours of darkness.
MoreUnfortunately the Comombian government decided to close the borders because of protests in the country. New laws that basically take younger peoples basic salary (already very lowand half it until they are 28 and new retirement ages pushing men to the age of 70 was met with complete distain by the people so they protested. This caused them tonclose the borders which ledt travelers such as myself scrambling tonsecure accommodations for 2 nights and missing flights etc. I am a resident of Colombia and even citizens were turned away from entering their own countries. Basically Colombia is going tje way if Venezuela and the president wishes to be a dictator. The imposition of Marshall law and another "emergency" measure allows the president to implement law without due process...so it is anyones guess what the future holds now for Colombia...just as it was beginning to gain popularity with expats and shedding its violent past....now comes along a dictator that will probably destroy this amazing country...not from hostiles but from horrendous politics and corruption, al the while enriching himself, his family and cronies. A truly terrible shame from my point of view.
MoreNature is amazing. Here you can camp and spend time in peacefully.
Passing the border was surprisingly quick. There are also many shops and restaurants. Getting a taxi to the closest city is also very easy on both sides to Tulcán or to Ipiales as well.
MoreDont cross here at night time, felt unsafe also make sure if you coming from Colombia change your money somewhere else but not at the unofficial exchange across the street.
MoreWalking across the border north to south was easy. Just check out of Colombia, change any pesos you want into US dollars, then check in once in Ecuador.
MoreYou can cross the frontier with an excellent service and help
If you are going to enter to immigration on the Ecuador side, you have to do the line and while are you waiting you must leave your luggage outside to the room service place. So, just be careful.
Morefirst stand in the single line tot both getting in and out of ecuador before going to colombia
MoreOnly chaos when you try to cross the border. No clear signs where you have to be. Waiting lines that dont seem to move. Take care of your belongings!!!
MoreDefinitely one of my most interesting border crossings. I did the usual route from Quito to Pasto. I took an Uber from my hostel to the northern bus terminal Carcelen and then took a bus from there to Tulcan and another taxi from there to the border. The crossing itself took about two hours during daytime. Its quite chaotic there but I made my way through even with my poor Spanish. After the crossing I took another taxi right from the border to Ipialis bus terminal where I took my last bus to Pasto. I paid roughly 30 dollars for the entire trip and it took me about 8 hours.
MoreYeah like.. The bridge is very nice, always full of people, but imigration Offices on bith sides could work much better, I understand, that the volume of Venezuelans and others is enormous, but for me waiting for an hour just to get a stamp without any questions is little bit too much.
MoreNothing out of the ordinary when it comes to bridges, but interesting to see all the commotion of border crossing...
MoreIts just a border crossing. There are government offices of both countries on each side. Immigration control, police, red cross for refugees and customs patrol. Also there are small buses going to Ipiales in the Colombian side, charging 2000 pesos (or 1 dolarto drop you in the center of ipiales. On the ecuadorian side only taxis to take you to Tulcan (USD 3.50 to Tulcan bus terminal so you can take buses to other cities in Ecuador). People exchanging currency on the bridge are always hustling. Do not expect official exchange rate (today April 16, 2019 international exchange rate 1 USD = 3166.70; this guys at the border pay 2850 pesos for each dolar).
MoreEasy entry and exit from Ecuador and Colombia. Secure place. From Colombia side you will not find any secure taxi after 7pm.
MoreIt just feel amazing after 6 hours of customs 🛃
Good place, safe
The border between Colombia and ecuador.Long queues due to the Venezuelans emigrants.
MoreDue to Venezuela peoples emigration, it can be spent a lot of time. Place is extremely cold. Beautiful anyway.
MoreIts always exciting to cross into a new country. The border was reasonably efficient in both countries.
Moreif you have to wait a bit when you come to Ecuador, but its not the same when you leave Ecuador you only need an hour, its not long when you leave Ecuador
MoreTerrible waits at migration on holiday season
