Tried the mixed beef & chicken curry and it was a perfect matrimony! The Peranakan style curry is rich and smooth at the same time and very fitting for the silky beehon. The pressure cooked beef is almost like melting in your mouth! Certainly a dish not to be missed while in Medan. The chicken noodle is also not disappointing at all if you have more room in your belly. The place is packed on weekends even though it occupies a large area. But waiting time is amazingly fast with efficient service.

Food is tasty, place is proper, they have room with aircon as well. It is a mandatory culinary place to visit when you go to medan, and it is Halal.

Still my must visit curry bihun in medan. The fresh coconut curry gravy with balance spice & thickness, well selected meat both chicken and beef.They also sell bottle juices, pudding , egg tart for dessert. 5stars

Curry house in town which has been existed for years. Taste of the curry is still good even though the pricing is quite high nowadays. Portion is good. Each bowl of curry is served with plain rice or rice noodle (bee hoon). Customers may choose the choice of chicken or beef. They also serve minced meat noodle with dumplings (mie pangsit). Payment by cash. Parking is limited by road side and quite crowded during lunch time.

The legendary Curry in Medan everyone should try. the curry taste not too strong with lots of herbs inside, the portions kinda small. there are 3 type of carbs you can combine with your curry; Rice+Curry, Yellow Noodles+Curry, & Bihun+Curry. also you can choose, u want chicken or beef Curry both taste good.Usually crowded during lunch time both on weekday dan weekend, parking might a bit difficult.

Tabonas "Bihun Kari Sapi" is never disappointing. The beef is chewy and juicy. The foods worth the price. Will definitely come back here next time.

The legendary curry place in town. The place is definitely famous among tourists and the locals. Tabona has been there for so many years and the place has become more and more spacious, also crowded over time. They provide the guests with non AC room (outdoorand AC room (indoor). I definitely opt for the latter. The type of curry Tabona has is more into light curry instead of the rich and thick one. It is fragrant, I quite like it, although I am more into something that has kickin flavor. There are two options of meat you can choose which are beef or chicken, served with rice or vermicelli. If you are not a fan of curry, you can go for its Wonton Noodle which tastes okay. Tips for savouring the curry to the maximum experience : Have the EMPING in your curry, it is a kind of chips, they usually put it on table. One thing you shouldnt miss when you are at Tabona,is its Kopi Susu (Traditional Coffee with Milk). That is totally my favourite and if you love coffee, try it and thank me later ! ;)

There are 3 menus that I can remember, chicken curry, beef curry, and mixed curry, which is consists of chicken and beef. There are several beverages here too, like badak, orange juice, barley, etc

Provides halal and non halal food. Bihun kari is halal: chicken and beef with extra biji putih and biji hitam (white and black seeds). The Noodle is non halal.The kopi susu is superb! You have to try it! I think it is a strong kopi susu with a hint of secret ingredient. I could taste a bit of jasmine, very very nice. Highly recommended!Btw I finally found out that biji putih (white seedsare actually Roosters testicles. Yeah, I am not kidding. Specialist in curry noodle or curry with rice . We can pick the part that we want. The curry is very nice and also wonton noodle ! Don’t forget to try layer jelly is also nice if it’s cold...The place is a dirty if you sit outside as they never clean up the floor. Also it’s very hot . Great street food specializing in chicken curry. The curry is usually served with vermicelli, akin to Malaysia/Singaporeas Laksa (you could ask for rice instead if you dont like vermicelli). When we visited at 1pm, the place was absolutely packed, add to that the couriers from various food delivery platforms. The great thing about this place is that the visitors were mostly locals, therefore price was very reasonable. Taste of curry was mild and soupy, almost similar to Soto dish. You could order bakmie (Indonesian noodle dishtoo that has predominantly chicken in it with bits of pork. Place was hot and stuffy but that is the beauty.

Tabona restaurant is always fully packed and it takes 10-15 minutes to get a seat. Started in 1972, this restaurant was one of the favorite eating place in Medan. Recommended menu is Curry Beef Vermicelli Soup. The beef is so tender and the curry is light. You can finish it without any bored feeling. For those who don’t like beef, you can choose chicken instead and it can be served with rice as well. Since this place is always fully packed with customers, it takes sometime to get your food. If you visit Medan, I recommend you to visit Tabona restaurant and try their famous curry. It will not dissapoint you.

Great place for having some some savory beef or chicken curry with bihun noodles. The restaurant is well visited so you may want to avoid peek hours and weekends. When I ordered they asked if I want to have intestines/blood cubes in my curry. If you dont like it simply order the plain one :)

The food in this place is very delicious and I liked it so much. It is famous of their Kare in Medan.It has air-conditioned room and not-air-conditioned. It feels so hot on the afternoon, especially when this place is crowded.It has parking lot space in front of the resto; it is large enough.

This resto is serve only Chicken and Meat Curry, but it is tasty.They have many seating area, indoor and outdoor. Maybe for 100 person. No aircon room.You may order Kietna Juice very fresh.

The food was alright. Nothing to shout about. The portion is reasonable. I found the meat is soft and tender. As for the curry you need to add some chilli for extra flavour. The place is always packed and you would need to wait for a while before getting a place to sit

Great busy restaurant 👍They are smart they have a limited menu but they do that exceptionally well 👍We visited for lunch, were seated inside with fan and AC. There is also outside seating for smoking.They offer take away also.The restaurant was very clean.👍The kitchen was also very clean with modern stainless steel utensils.I would recommend this place for tourists to visit to try local food that is hygienically cooked that tastes good.👍Pricing is medium 👍

Must try their curry bee hoon. Very recommended. The cury broth is very aromatic and tasty. You can choose chicken curry or beef curry. They also sell noodle or mie pangsit. If you dont feel like eating bee hoon , you can choose rice to eat with the curry. We tried kietna juice, barley drink. It is ok.

Nice beef rice noodle curry. Can order without MSG. Taste and smell good. Crowded but it is worthwhile. I just know they have branch in Jakarta, Pluit.
