Rum Doodle Bar & Restaurant in Kirtipur

Trekkers legend. That is all. The food is weak and poor. Burger with cold bread, paneer butter masala with no spices like a tomatoe soup, steak like a sole (ordered medium). No one from 12 persons group was pleased. Disaster. Every restaurant we have been in Nepal was better. Don’t go there. Waste of time and money.

Staff were nice but it was quite empty. The location is a bit distant.

Cockroach running around everywhere.even in food plates.very bad

Went after 15 yrs and found the same thing like before. Must try chicken basket. Good for friends and family.

Weird doodles relating mostly to everest trek all decorated over the ceilings; been more than a few years in operation at Naxal, good place to just hang out.

A place visited by most of the folks who have submitted Mount everest sagarmata..the restaurant has their autographs..good food too

So much history here. I have been here a few times and always find myself amazed looking at so many famous names up on their walls. The food is strictly okay though. Special mention to try out the chicken basket and AVOID the hot wings.

Service was good. But somewhat expensive. For that price, you can have same things in Thamel or other touristic areas.

Its a pub where the locals, foreign tourists and mountaineers hang out on tasty dishes and high spirits. Mountaineering enthusiasts can scan hundreds of 8K summteers signatures on foot print shaped papers of snowman Yeti.

I liked most of the items here, though some were not so good. The lunch menu and price is very reasonable, the main menu is fine. The place was nice and clean and the staffs were very attentive. There is also enough space for parking. I liked this place overall, may visit again. ✌

We enjoyed a group meal here as part of our tour in Nepal. Where we also got to speak with a Sherpa who has summited Mount Everest 8x (not to mention the other 8x he has climbed over 8000mthe man was a very quietly spoken and modest superstar⭐Our meal was very good, grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and veg👍Recommended 👍

Quirky bar and definitely worth a visit if you’re interested in mountaineering.Staff were friendly and helpful. Food and drink filling and plentiful.

Excellent with life time memories of feet prints which is done trekking as well as expeditions.

Overrated with bad customer service. The place is famous because Sherpas visit this place and writes about their journey in a paper. But the customer service and food are bad.

I was there many times since its established but i found very poor hospitality there last month. no one care what we want to eat I have to call again and again for food order

Brilliant food and experience even after it had moved from the last time I visited in 2014

I heard this is a bar for climbers. No. They know nothing about climbing and no climbers go there neither.

It’s okay. Food was okay, service very slow

Decent food. Good Pizza. Friendly staff. Worth a try. However, the last time I visited, they were out of Sukuti (dried meatand wifi subscription had expired...all that on a Friday night. This restaurant was good when it was at Thamel (tourist hub of Kathmandu). Humble request to the owners to rethink about the location.

I used to love their mushroom baskets ...however we tried the pizzas which were ok.

Nice cozy place. Good food and ambiance. Has a history, which can be seen from the signature cards spread through out the restaurant.

Nice and fancy new location but it has lost the chill vibe it was famous for. Prices are quite prohibitive.

I have very fond memories here.... My dad used to take us Rumdoodle while he used to attend his business meetings... Soon after we would explore all the yeti footprints... Nd the read the other people experiences too...The food was good nd the people as well very hospitable..... The environment, everything was just amazing...

Was invited here whilst doing volunteering in Kathmandu by the local rep of the organisation.Yeah a good, cool place to go for a bite, to see and read all the notices hanging from the ceiling is fun, try to look for someone well known.Nice place to visit.

The chicken basket was awesome, but pasta was just ok and a bit on the pricy side, all in all a good place to chill.

Was very excited to visit this bar. When we arrived it was empty and had zero charm. Think its glory days are behind it.

I had a delicious cheese pizza here, just what you need after coming off the mountain. Prices were high-ish, but the food was worth it.
