Ruins of Old Vaasa - Tourist attraction in Vasa, Finland
Clean a d easy access. But could need more info.
Hienot rauniot ja hyvät infotaulutRaunioiden remontti vähän laski tähtiluokitusta.
Under construction now so it is fenced off
Penkkejä on ihan kivasti 👍
Good place for kids to play in the winter
Fantastic place for sledding in the winter.
Fun for the kids to explore the old ruins but the hillside beside it is the best place in Vasa to go sledding.
The beautiful place 😊
Imagining how it used to be before the fire and whilst the ships could still dock, is easy with the sketch provided on the information board. There is also a well shown but no information about what happened to it. There is a bell tower without a bell and not much tower, but it can be imagined.
Couple of small ruins with info tables. Otherwise services are limited to a small grocery shop nearby.
Vaasa was founded here year 1606 but the city was destroyed by a fire year 1852. The city was then moved 7km away to where it is located today. If you visit Vaasa and if you got free time then stop by to see the history of this beautiful city.
There was not much to see.
Interesting place, really small (only 3-4 ruins).
Great place for picnic! Also historical ruins make the place romantic.
Very lovely place.
A must visit when you are in Vaasa. Very peaceful and pleasant place to spend the afternoon.
We enjoyed last week. It was cold and windy but the old church and surroundings were mesmerizing

Vanhan Vaasan vuonna 1852 tuhoutuneen triviaalikoulun raunioilla sijaitseva J. L. Runebergin muistomerkki on kuvataiteilija Lauri Leppäsen käsialaa.
Nice stroll through the area on a sunny day - what’s not to like.
You See everything in 2 minutes
Its an Heritage site. Well maintained and kids friendly.
Ok
Very few old buildings, but nice view
Great location. With snowfall, it was really a great place to visit :)
Peaceful Historic place, during winter time hill nearby is used playing with snow.
Beautiful place and will written information about the ruins and the time they were built in Finnish, Swedish as well as in English. Easy to find and close to the city centre if you have a car at your disposal. I think theres also a bus going there but we visited on a cold day and took the car therefore. Open entry, meaning no fee and no fences so they can be accessed 24/7.
Well-preserved ruins of a church, a school and other buildings of the old city. All the necessary information are provided on information boards in Finnish, Swedish and English. The city seems to know how to properly protect its heritage.
