Had an excellent late-lunch with friends after biking from Musanze and taking the boat over to the location. Very friendly staff with good service. Bathrooms and dining area were very clean. Beautiful location!

Its really beautiful place to stay during holidays with no stressful things, enjoying delicious meals, hundreds of birds singing and soaring over the lakes.

This outstanding location is a dream! The older rooms could use refreshing but make for a kinda rustic experience. Cant beat waking to birds singing! Grounds are impeccably kept. Fresh lake Tilapia is the best Ive ever had. Daily Lake Side Massages with birds chirping, water lapping the shore, smell of hyacinth and an occasional moo from a grazing cow caused my life of corporate stress to melt away. Breathtaking dusks silhouetted volcanoes from Volcanos National Park. The management and staff were extremely attentive and provided Ritz Carlton like request procurement! Having a boat collect us from the lake shore to transport us to and from the resort added to the mystical appeal. We didnt want to leave!

I never knew that Rwanda had a place that is as calming and beautiful as Ruhondo Lake. The resort was an experience that is unforgettable. From the place itself, to the activities, the mouthwatering food, the service, the support staff. It was indeed all breathtaking.Cant wait for my next adventure at Ruhondo Beach Resort.

Highly recommended place to get away from all the city buzz, very quiet and you can camp there if youd like. Great food too! The service is also impressive.

We had a great time at Ruhondo Beach Resort. It was nice and clean. Our room was very clean, including the bathroom. The views were incredible and it was peaceful. The food was also very good. We had a Spanish Omelette for breakfast with crepes and fruit. For dinner we had the Chicken with Pilau Rice and Spaghetti. They all tasted fantastic. It is a short drive outside Musanze along a dirt road and then a 10 min boat ride to the resort. Id highly recommend the place and we plan on coming back for some more R&R.

AMAZING place to stay in the Twin Lakes! Beautiful views of the volcanoes with nice food, and you can sit around the bonfire at night. Owners were also really lovely and helpful!

The place is really good

Spent 3 very peaceful, tranquil days here.To get there you travel 2 hours north-west of Kigali until you hit Musanze. From there you drive 30 minutes to the Power station on the lake edge where you take a 12 minute boad ride across to the "Island "(which is really just the other side of the lake!!)The Resort is situated on the side of a hill overlooking the lake & is quite remote with no shops for miles so take what you need with you.Service & food is quite fine for that level. Breakfast and coffee was good with generous portions.I was there in low season so they didnt have everything on the menu but if you ask them for anything they would bring it over that day or next morning.Rooms were a bit old and dated but perfectly functional with table and wardrobe. Power and Hot water was always there. bed reasonably comfortable but not soft. They had a little balcony with nice seats outside.Internet was limited to Restaurant area and quite slow but enough for emails etc.The Restaurant/Bar was nicely situated with beautiful views of lake and Volcanoes. Nice indoor/outdoor seating & every night they lite the Fire which made for great night atmosphere.Really a nice place for relaxing, reading etc with about 15 minutes of pathways around the lake edge within the property and more walks above the property.They didnt have any kids playground but they had activities such as boat tours, bird watching, canoeing, fishing etc that you had to pay extra for.They had a small Beach there for swimming but not sandy so OK if you need to cool off.Overall A GREAT NATURE ESCAPE if you can get for good price and dont mind the journey :)

Recently I spent a night with my family, very nice place, staff is extremely helpful, it was raining before we crossed over and they helped us to take our luggage.We enjoyed our stay, breakfast was nice with beautiful view.They need to upgrade the mattress.Will go back soon, view is amazing. If you are driving, please call them before otherwise google map can mis lead you. They are available on the calls and help you to guide and its easy to get there. You will need to park near the lake and then use their boat to cross the lake, just a few minutes boat ride.

Nice hotel, only one with a little private beach. Very good attractions that can be done around the hotel. Good staff

Beautiful view of the lake and the surrounding volcanoes. Nice food and friendly locals make this a place you should definitely visit if you are nearby.

Very calm and peaceful...can help you unwind and see different types of birds as well. You will have to negotiate the costs with the taxi and the boat person though

The drive down to this establishment is breathtakingly beautiful. A dirt road winds down the hill for 15km before reaching the resort. The manager (Nepomet us personally. He is an extremely friendly and professional individual. The accommodation was a bit expensive for us, but Nepo was willing to host us on a bit of a budget. This allowed us to spend some money at the restaurant. The food is quite expensive, but very delicious! The breakfast was amazing and included in the price. We would have loved to stay a bit longer and do some of the activities on offer. I certainly hope to see you again soon!

Third time we we spent some nights here. We like this place because of the views. Its peaceful and staff is very friendly.

We stayed at Ruhondo for couple days over news years and very much enjoyed our stay. Nepo and his team were excellent and we had the pleasure of spending new year with his family and the staff by the fire. We travelled to the power station, parking for couple day and took the boat to the resort. Everything was very easy and pleasant. The location is peaceful and full of beautiful views all around. A morning swim was especially rewarding after a few new years eve beers. The food was tasty and evenings around a big fire are very pleasant. Would highly recommend for a relaxing quiet break and will certainly come again!

I stayed here with a friend on my first visit to Rwanda. A stunning, relaxing location to get away from it all at an unbeatable price. The volcanoes, lake, and boat ride made this place the highlight of my trip!

Sensational place to stay on the lake with amazing views of the volcanoes. It’s an adventure to find and you get to take a boat across to the location. The staff took us around on a fun tour through the local village and the meals we had were delicious. The beers were cold and cheap and the beds were clean and very comfortable. Overall, one of the best places we’ve stayed in Rwanda!

Friendly staff and very good location. Rooms unfortunately attached and not very sound proof. If coming from Kigali just take the road straight to lodge if you have an awd vehicle. No need to drive around to the boat at the power station

Excellent place to disconnect and enjoy life in a very beautiful environment. The staff are super friendly and the food is great.. they set the bun fire every night where you can gather around and have a great evening. The boat trip they offer is also amazing. I highly recommend this place, had one of the best times ever.

Just amazing ambience and views of the volcano across the lake. Decent food (I had the whole fishand polite service. Breakfast of fruit and vegetable omelet was excellent.We stayed in the tents which is a good experience at a reasonable price.Can recommend

Absolutely stunning location. Looks like a building site. Food very basic but tasty. No hot water. Rooms need some TLC to be up to an appropropriate stand. All a bit of a shame given that wonderful location (which gained them a star over what they might have otherwise got)

This is a great quiet out of the way place. Get to it by taking a boat from musanze across the lake. Good camping cute (very basicbungalows, good fresh fish with an incredible view of the volcanos (where the Gorillas live). Dirt cheap. Clean. Dont try and drive. You will never find it by car

This hotel is in a stunning spot, with its main grassy dining area enjoying panoramic views over the lake and virunga volcano range behind. Its also quiet and peaceful, and well run. Our food (fresh grilled fish and brochetteswas delicious. There are lots of great hiking and biking routes around the twin lakes and this hotel is a great rest point. If you drive to the power planet just across the lake, the hotel will send a boat to collect you, and arrange secure parking for your car.
