Camden Stables Market, Unit 729-731, London NW1 8AH, Hamhŭng
Rudy's Dirty Vegan Diner - Restaurant in Hamhŭng, North Korea
It was great having a Vegan Diner in such a busy and chaotic market. Food was good, very satisfying. It is a bit pricy, but will visit again.
Lovely vegan food. We had buffalo wings and the cauliflower mac n cheese. The milkshakes were so good too. Fast service, friendly staff and delicious food. I would definitely recommend it
Horrible food, even worse service. The “dirty” in the name is accurate. We had the Caesar salad and vegan Reuben - were both so terrible that we couldn’t eat more than two bites despite being extremely hungry. Waste of time and money.
One of the best vegan places that I’ve ever been in London. I love the Rudy’s Rubenz with all my heart ♥️ . The taste is amazing and the size for the price is worth it!
We used to love it here but we have been very disappointed after our last few visits. Since its been taken over it has really gone downhill. The burger was ok but do not have the mac and cheese, it doesnt taste of anything! There is no check back whatsoever. The place is dirty and unkept. We asked for the bill but the waiter came over with a tablet and blatantly overcharged us. Maybe he needed to make his tips up?? We will not be returning.
This is the opposite of fast food. No one acknowledged us at any point in time and we had to help ourselves to some grubby menus from the waiting station. Staff could clearly see us, yet made no attempt to communicate. When a runner passed our table, we asked if we should come and order inside but were told that a waiter would be with us. Gave up after waiting for 30min and walked out. Such a shame, had high hopes after hearing a lot about this place. They werent even busy at all but just cant be bothered by the looks of it.
Do NOT order the steak frites. It tasted like someone had used a sponge to clean up some vomit, then fried the sponge and served it up with some peppercorn sauce. I ate a bite of it yesterday and thinking about it still makes me feel sick right now. The actual steak (not the saucehad a strong, sour acidic taste and I could smell it even from the other end of the table when I left it there waiting - a very long time- for a server to come so I could complain about it. Me and my partner are two of the least fussy eaters ever, we always finish plates even if the food is a bit bland or unusual, but this thing was truly rancid.
I advice to ask for a receipt, they tried to scam us by making us pay a burger and a portion of fries (10£more... I dont like to think they did on purpose but they directly brought the POS to the table when we asked for the bill, so I have my doubts. Some burgers were completely immersed in spicy sauce (not mentioned in the menu), they were almost inedible and I say this while having high pain tolerance and liking spicy food. Also, hygene is non existent - people in the kitchen work with their hair uncovered and we found one in our fries...
I had been here once before and had an amazing Reuben sandwich, but after today I dont think Ill be going back. The service wasnt very attentive. We had to seat ourselves, get our own menus and tried ordering ourselves. We mustve walked up to the bar 4 or 5 times to ask for something, like to order drinks, for example. Also, the sandwich wasnt very good, or at least not as good as I remember. Bread wasnt toast/fried, cheese wasnt melted and onions were undercooked (felt a bit slimy). The worst of all, my beer was warm. A shambles.
So insanely disappointed.Been following their insta for over an year and it looked amazing. Finally decided to travel 58 mins there with my partner to treat ourselves. We arrived and the staff told us to sit down without giving us menu, so we had to go up and get one. Then the food was just awful:Mac n cheese: 2/10. completely bland and tasteless. No flavour and was only made better with a heinz ketchup sachet I had in my bag. My partner took one bit and refused to eat more. I didnt enjoy eating it at all but didnt want to waste it because the bowl was £6.50!!Double or nothing burger: 3/10. The "beef" burger tasted and felt weird. Was more like a mush than a burger. Again had little taste and the whole thing fell apart immediately.Destructor chicken burger: 6/10. The only good thing we had and even this was mediocre. Meant to be their best selling burger. The seiten burger was nice but nothing special and the BBQ overpowered everything. Felt sick after everything, and still feel rubbish after 2 hours 😩There were wayyy too many members of staff and they were all sat down most of the time.Honestly felt really upset when I left. We made such a big journey and effort and I was really looking forward to it but it was awful. Felt bad bringing my partner all this way. Will never come back here again. Next time I want a burger, Ill go to honest burger or even Wetherspoons, both 100x better.
Ridiculously disappointing. A place I have followed via Instagram for a few years now and seems to get non stop praise but cannot see the reason. Ordered the wings & plain Jane just to test out their meat alternatives & both were bland, with the patty in latter just crumbly soy mince, the texture reminded me slightly of a dry nut roast. Did a food tour today of a few vegan places in London and this was just another that did not live up to the hype. No atmosphere and beer on tap not working which is understandable but needs to be fixed soon so I can drown my sorrows of yet another sub standard meal
Perhaps we were unlucky as it was the end of the night (8:30pm on a Friday mindbut most of the menu was not available, staff were probably just trying to finish up for the night so we didn’t feel welcomed and more like we were imposing. One meal came out with a significant part missing though it was brought to us once we’d asked why it wasn’t on the plate. The other meal was smothered in far too much hot sauce to enjoy any other flavours. I’m a fan of chilli but there’s a point where you stop tasting the food and mostly just try to stop it burning your mouth by alternating each bite with something else to get through the whole ordeal. Anyway I’m awarding both stars to the chips as they were pretty good. I’ve definitely had worse food but I can’t see myself coming back here.
The staff is super friendly and helpful, and they serve the best sausages ive ever had, vegan or not. They were out of milkshakes, which was a bummer, but the delicious smoothie made me forget i even wanted one in the fist place.
The waiter overcharged +20 pounds.. on purpose I think. Ordering and billing is done via tablets and I assume he wanted to top up his tip. The amount was corrected after a corresponding notification. The "wings" themselves were not bad (just fried seitan), the sauce (I think it should be BBQ0% my taste. There was no atmosphere. No recommendation.
One has to imagine that it was after a blissful summers day in Camden (for your sake reader, allow me to suggest the warmth of the sun set alight skin, held at bay only by the ubiquitous breeze), that such an idea could have been born. A light evening meal and generous helping (or threeof sweet wine served, as you would understand, as a tincture to cradle one into bed.It was there, wine drunk, window ajar and utterly intoxicated by the senses that the head chef of Rudys dreamt up a miracle. A vision, if you will, of a Vegan Philly Cheese Steak.Comparable to the burning bush, this recipe was sent down for the sole purpose of inscription, passed to the people and translated into every language - for it would be an honour to the page.Words wont do it justice, nor this miserable prayer in photographic form (I repent).Thank you Rudys, it was a privilege to meet God if only for the moment it took to devour this offering.
Would not recommend - 1. I choked on a piece of glass/plastic (not sure which one it wasin my coleslaw which I nearly swallowed 2. the food was very mediocre 3. they didn’t have half the food or drinks menu in stockOnly pro is the staff, they were all lovely and tried their best to help.
Very good food! Great to all the junkfood lover vegans. LOVED the milkshake and the cheesy fries. The service was a bit slow, not enough workers.
Food is okay, but the smoothies are really really bad. Can’t drink a sip. It’s made out of very cheap carton juice. Tastes like chemicals and sugar. Will never go back.
We had the full english and loaded fries and the food was really good (for vegan food standards). Service was a little slow and now foam on the beers :(
It a shame the food is so Good here. I will be only ordering take away from now on. This is my third visit to rudys and every single time me and my friends enter the restaurant is absolutely disgusting. Food, drinks, empty plates scattered across every single table. It was not busy and staff did not seem bothered at all by the disgusting state of the inside, once we sat down we (againwaited 15 mins, all staff inside refusing to even acknowledge us, after a while we were asked if we had had menus yet ( we were literally the only people sat inside). Once ordered the food came out pretty quickly as they were not busy at all. The main waitress is slow and doesn’t seem bothered by people waiting. Once we had finished eating we waited a further 20 mins in order to pay ( no idea where the waitress isand it was only then on our way out we noticed the waitress start to clear down the empty tables. The first time I went these issues I’d hoped would be a 1 off, but to seems every single time this is my experience. Great food but terrible restaurant. I’d advise anyone to order takeaway and grab a bench in the market!
A cool fully vegan place that look like an American dinner.Since I was quite full I order the Banana split that came with 3 balls of ice cream, whip creams and sour candies on the side. the banana was fresh and tasty, the ice cream was quite plain vanilla ice cream and some of the sour candies were soft while others felt very harsh and dry. the place has a large menu and a lot of other dishes to try. the service was quick and the place seems modern and cool.
This is the worst meal we have had in London so far. Food took forever and it was disgusting- we left pretty much everything uneaten. Caesar salad had no lettuce leaves just shredded iceberg. Nachos had what seemed like spaghetti sauce on top, hot dog not really cooked and smothered with toppings that I think we’re intended to disguise how bad it was. I have never felt so bad after eating a healthy meal- also no gluten free options besides the not salad Cesar
I used to love this place. When you used to place your own order then were given a bleeper to collect when the food was ready was the best idea. Now its table service. We went on Friday and it was moderately busy. One person taking all the food orders and serving all the tables. After waiting 15 mins I went and got our own menus, we managed to get an order placed after 30 mins. Not great but the food was always worth it.Until this time, the food was just awful. I had the breakfast, and was confronted with two sausages which were virtually uncooked, completely inedible. The rest of the meal was cold. My wifes although looked good was also Luke warm. We traveled right across London for this, what a waste of money. Will never use again.
Perfect spot for both vegans and non-vigans.Amazing food (you nust taste the Mozzarella sticksand the most gorgeous Philomena and her beautiful smiley welcome.Highly recommended! ❤️
Best vegan cheesesteak ever.Food was faultless and for the price the portions are huge. Will be coming again when next in London.
This place and the staff are a vegans dream! The staff are very helpful in everyway and the food well we had burgers and mac and cheese with some buffalo wings everthing was very tasty, perfect in fact
The food in Rudy’s is probably my favourite food. It’s my no.1 location out of all the vegan food I’ve eaten. Words can’t explain it enough. You need to try there food.
The food was good cant complain but the service itself was more like a self service. Got to the place looking for a table and it was just one without chairs so we moved the chairs as the one with chairs was all dirty. Everything was so messy around the terrace. The waiter couldnt help much with the menu. Food looked good and tasted good, maybe a bit to salty and the soya bun from the burger was quite cold and oily. I went inside to ask for the bill and could see the kitchen and deposit through a door thay was opened and that made me regret I ate there. No toilet neighter... you can use the public one around the corner they said. So ...I got to this place as I saw a great advertise in a magazine but need To say my expectations were too high and disappointment was soo Big.
Waiting staff was awful, dismissive and rude, she was rolling her eyes and shaking her head at customers for simple requests to rectify orders made, she left our drinks out on the side for 10mins whilst talking to her friends at the inside bar, she left other customers beers out, customers ended up having to serve themselves as she had no interest in customer service. When we pointed out our order had been forgotten again she rolled her eyes at us offered no apology. We came in 15/06.However Id like to say the cooks were fantastic provided more help than she did with our order , food was fantastic. When we compliment the speed of the service once our order was correct the waiting staff reacted sarcastically to us told us to move our drinks.
Awful. By far the worse experience in my life. The service was non existent, had to chase down waiters to order and was never checked on. The cheesy chips were ok and the mozzarella sticks were absolutely amazing but unfortunately besides the mac&cheese being bad, the wings were just uneatable. Waaay to spicy, which is not mentioned in the menu, and just had no texture at all. We couldnt eat them and as there was no staff around, we couldnt complain straight away. The cocktail just tasted like lime juice, probably to disguise the lack of alcohol. When it came the time to pay, after waiting a long time, we complained to the waitress about the wings (we managed to eat half of 1 out of 4, so 3 1/2 were still visible in the plate), who told us "some people like it", shrugged her shoulders and tried to rush us to pay, not even an apology made. We payed almost £20 per person for 4 mozzarella sticks, some chips and a pint as everything else was terrible. Ended up ruining our evening as my sister is here on holiday and we could have enjoyed so many other places but ended up trusting the wrong one.Ps.: Ive been vegan for 2 years now so that is not the issue. And Ive been worked in hospitality for several years so I 100% can put myself in the other side, everything about tonight was just unacceptable for this place and for how expensive it was.
My wife wanted to try out this place. Every once in a while she actually makes a good call this was that time. The food here was impeccable. The staff were super friendly and helpful and I was astonished to see my child eat every bit of her food. The best part for what you dont finish you can simply ask to have in a takeaway for your journey.
Milkshakes were super light and tasty. Pancake portion was huge and just the right mix of sweet and sour (from the berry compote and yogurt).
DELICIOUS food, lovely location, I loved the vibe so much that I had to come back on my next London trip! Wallace is a fantastic part of the staff and makes eating at the diner a really great experience :good to be back!
epic vegan american style junk food ❤️ and that unicorn milkshake, yuuuuuum!I will definitely be back.
Skip this one! Getting worse every time we come back and this was our last time. Extremely slow service! Food is good but not great. We wanted a 2nd round cause we stayed hungry and they recommended not to cause it will take a lot of time. No toilets. High tables are not convenient. Bad service.
Even though it was an exceptionally busy midweek day, the service was exceptional, and the food was out of this world!Being a vegan so far for only a year, I could hardly tell the difference. This will definitely be a place that Ill be visiting again!
I love this place! Fully vegan diner, amazing burgers, shakes and more. Super friendly people who works here and really clean and laid back. Will definitely come back 💚
What an amazing place!!!Wallace was a lovely server with a very helpful attitude!!The shakes and smoothies are amazing and although we didn’t eat the food is something we are definitely coming back for!!10/10 would recommend
5 star food. I had the vegan steak and chips pictured which were lovely 😍 fully recommended. I read a4 star review that said 5 star food, I wouldnt disagree with their reason to knock off a star but it didnt bother me. Worth going for the tasty food. Certainly has a chain vibe but still very pleasant.
Amazing place with amazing food. Samira was super helpful and looked after us. The Philly cheese-steak sandwich and the buffalo burger are our favourites - they’re incredible. This place is one of the ones we go to regularly for an indulgence, especially with the shakes they serve. Absolutely recommend.
Amazing top quality vegan diner. Very reasonable price. Staff friendly and lovely. Very very fast service. Dogs allowed! Quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Philly cheesteak was out of this world. Among the best vegan fast food on London. Well be back!
Amazing food, extremely friendly staff and really positive experience. Most times I visit Camden and dine here - never been disappointed... or hungry 😋If I could rate it 10, I would!!
All vegan diner with yummy food in bustling Camden market.I strongly recommend the English breakfast with maple. The green shake with mint and spinach was exceptional. The fried mozarella sticks are a great snack that you can also take away and munch on your way or at home later on. Their sauces are also tasty.Cons: a bit goofy service, waiters should be more professional and attentive.
Not good. We went there for dessert after having a nice meal from another nearby venue. The place was deserted with just us and another table occupied. The staff didn’t come to take our order for ages and the food also took a long time come.My partner ordered the banana split which was supposed to be topped with cream and sweets. There was no cream and instead of sweets he got a couple of party rings.I decided to go savory and order Buffalo wingz. The crumb and hot sauce was nice but the seitan on the inside was unpleasant and mushy.Neither one of us managed to finish what we ordered as it just was not good food! :/Won’t be returning!
Holy Moly. Thats a tasty shake. Makes you want to throw out all the memories of past dairy milk shakes and believe in the power of vegan. Try the Banana Biscoff Bonanza and thank me later ;Go there before going anyplace else to make sure you have something for your walk through the market.
Food was atrocious. So generic and unfufulling. Never again. Its called dirty vegan becuase it really is nasty. The so called freakshake is nothing more than a mediocre milkshake.
Solid 10/10 for food, the Ruben sandwich was soooooooo good and the loaded fries were to die for, our server was super friendly and helpful at was a busy time, and the best its 100% vegan but Im guessing you already know if youre reading this review.
THE spot for greasy vegan fare in London. Best time to go is midday, outdoor seating, and stuff your face with something heavy, salty and utterly delicious. Loaded nachos, vegan mac, chikn poppers and the thick cut fried chikn sandwich. The shakes are absolutely decadent, and the perfect cap off to your feast.
Rudys your spot for a guilt-free burger stop. Great flavours, good side options & friendly service.A drive thru would have incredible as Camden Market is wilder than a hornets nest on fire. The burger we ordered was, The Ultimate Rudys Burger 🍔 Reviewed 24/04/2021
Our favourite fast food outlet ever. Been vegetarian for over 30 years & have missed grabbing a burger throughout. But Rudys takes the burger to the level of food fine art. Their hot dogs are to die for, the mac & cheese is amazing & the mozzarella stick are addictive. All 100% vegan!I truly hope they start franchising because every town needs & Rudys. Its Devils food for Angels. Being ethical never tasted so good.
