Ruby River in Reno

For how large our party was and a weekend the fact we were all seated in one spot was amazing. The food service was amazing also, not one meal was wrong and we all were served at the same time just AMAZING.

The great atmosphere and top notch service are just the beginning. The food is amazing and all at a reasonable price. Weve ate at many of the steak houses from here to Tahoe and this is our favorite. Its a must every time we go to Reno. You get generous portions and wont leave hungry. We had the build your own sampler and the fried pickles were the best weve ever had anywhere. I ordered the ribeye and it was incredible

We went here for my birthday. We both ordered prime rib with loaded baked potatoes. I also had the mushrooms while hubby ordered the parmesan tomatoes. We also shared an order of wings. It took a while for our server to finally come to our table, but she came prepared with a loaf of bread and waters. It was apparent that she was very busy, but she was still awesome! That bread though!!! 😋The wings were the best weve had in a while! The food was amazing with the exception of the prime rib. The steak wasnt bad, it just wasnt all that tender, and you expect prime rib to melt in your mouth. Next time we go, Ill order a ribeye. We were too full for dessert.My main complaint was when we walked in. There were two young ladies at the hostess stand when we got there. They were both talking to a young man (flirting?). They completely ignored us for about 2-3 minutes (didnt even look at us, let alone acknowledge our existenceuntil they finished their conversation then decided to seat us. The only reason we didnt turn around and walk out is because of how highly rated the restaurant is. Please instruct your hostesses to not ignore customers.

Everyone is so friendly here!Lana was our waitress, she provided exceptional service!I got the bacon wrapped filet mignon with a baked potato and a side salad, it was so delicious!My husband got the garlic pepper ribeye with mashed potatoes and gravy and the sautéed mushrooms. The mushrooms were so good and I usually dont even like mushrooms! We are both very pleased with our dinners, the service and the price! Our bill was 60.00 total

It was excellent! Good Prime Rib, cooked as ordered. Wonderful dip and deep fried baked potato.

The food was amazing, my husband got a steak and it was cooked perfectly and the drinks were delicious! Super friendly server as well overall amazing experience. I will definitely go back but it certainly is pricey.

Great steakhouse that doesnt break the bank. Went with a group of 6 while in town for work. Waitress was funny and we had a good time. I had the 11oz sirloin with a baked potato and a house salad. Steak was cooked as requested and the LOADED baked potato is the way to go on that particular side.

A great place for dinner. Service was top notch and the food was great. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. If your in the mood for a pleasant meal, go here.

This place was AMAZING! Hands down best prime rib I’ve had in a while and the prices are reasonably cheap compared to other steakhouses in the area. Next time I’m in Reno I will definitely go back. Had a great experience and the server was great!

What a great place to eat. Where do I start? First I guess the layout. Big booths, built for big guys, but also built for privacy. You dont feel like the people in the next booth are right on top of you, and thats really niceThe service. Our server was a guy named Michael. Normally I dont like getting male servers, but this guy was really cool. He was cool to chat with, not too present but not too far, really a great service experience overall.And then the food. I got the porterhouse (it was my birthdayand my wife got the seafood linguine. We both loved it she also had the wedge salad, and I also had cheese fries. Everything was delicious.The waiter threw in a piece of chocolate cake as well, which we ate at home, again, delicious.Everything was priced very reasonably. In total we spent just over $100.Will definitely be back, and will definitely suggest to anyone. Really good food.

Trash. Food and service is great one night and terrible the next. Most insulted I have ever been at a restaurant in my life from the manager who was trying to screw the bartender and was ok with her ignoring customers. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Went to this steakhouse for the first time, Ty he place was packed to the max, and I could see why. The food was excellent and the price was right. Especially with the crazy increase in the inflation that this administration has put on us, and destroying our country in light speed, it’s good to know there is a great place to eat great food and not have to pay an insane amount of money for it like you would in west LA.

Very good food and the staff was on top of everything. Perfectly cooked steak 10 out of 10 would recommend and will definitely be back

What a great place for dinner. This was our second time here. We ordered steaks and potatoes. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Potatoes work gargantuan. They deep fry them it looks like which makes it extra yummy. Definitely will go back.

Everything we ordered was delicious! We had a 10 oz sirloin, a 12 oz ribeye, Parmesan tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms, and the sampler with fried pickles, steak avocado egg rolls, and cheese fries. The steaks were bomb! Super juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The appetizers were really good too! My least favorite thing was the fries- in all fairness, they are called “double-battered” fries, we just didn’t realize how “fried” they were 😅. The service was great and everyone was friendly. A great place to celebrate our anniversary! I definitely recommend trying this restaurant if you’ve never been here!

This is my favorite restaurant to visit while in Reno.The garlic chicken parmesan is delicious. We visited July 12th.This visit was exceptionally nice when a manager stopped by to check on us, he told us he appreciated our business. Real nice touch. Most definitely will be back. Highly recommend.

Had an amazing steak here, asked for rare and they actually brought it rare, loved every bite!! Its highly recommend for steak in the area by the staff at our hotel, definitely worth the price.

The service was great, the place looked great and was clean, staff friendly and attentive, but the steak I had was one of the worst Id ever had. I ordered the porterhouse - a combo of strip and filet, right? Wrong. This steak was dry, old small, thin - I couldnt believe I was paying $33 for this steak. I couldnt believe they let it out of the kitchen. This was so far from what a steakhouse steak should be, it was almost as if I was being pranked, like I should expect someone to jump out with a camera and say it was all a joke. I didnt send it back, I dont send back food. Besides, this steak was more than just over cooked - it was old, small and dry. Its just funny. I was reading reviews about this place and, man, what were these people eating? My wife ordered a filet and it looked pretty decent. It was plump, moist, pink,. In all fairness, this is the second time Ive had a porterhouse similar to this in Reno. Maybe you guys just dont know how to order one or how to prepare one? Frankly, Ive had better steak in a hospital cafeteria.

We went back and decided to give it another try since the last 2 or 3 times were horrible and it was so worth it! The food was great, we had the fried pickles, the Gorgonzola crusted New York (it was so big my husband and I shared it thankfully), French onion soup, a Ceasar, and as always their yummy sourdough. Holy cow we were stuffed! My hubby always get the the River runner (always so deliciousand I got the ultimate margarita (the only thing I didnt like, it tasted like soapbut i didnt want to complain because our waitress Kaylee (?gave us amazing service and it was a completely different experience than the one we had a year ago. Will definitely go back again and again!

Decent place. Good service, bread was good. Prawns a little over cooked, my NY steak was really thin and a little fatty. Better than the $79 all others are charging an on vacation so hard to complain. However I do better at home with Costco NYs.

The wife n I hadta ck it out after hearn bout the good reviews, it didnt disappoint Kensi was awsum n very attentive, calamari 2 start the meal n the N.Y. steak was jus right n the wife had the steak kabobs, great b-day din-din. Well definitely b back again. 😊

Like everywhere else.Expensive and smaller portions.My 6 oz steak Oscar was good but tiny. Not much bigger than a golf ball. (But it was a nice piece of meat.Came with asparagus.ONE PIECE!Shrimp cocktail was 5 little frozen shrimp with a dish of cocktail sauce on a bed of lettuce. $12.00?Bread was good.Dinner came with salad which was good but server brought our meal out when we werent halfway finished with our salad.There are so many places to try, Ill probably not be going back.

Super good food. The baked potato is unique and so tasty. Its coated in a crispy batter which adds texture and flavor. Try it youll love it. I did. Steaks were perfect, medium rare, pink in the middle and butter soft. I had the butterfly shrimp. Yum. Ill be back for sure. Best food and service we had all week long.

First time going and went to celebrate a birthday. The food was fantastic, and the service was good. It couldve been better and the waiter couldve offered some extra service when it came to serving the food. However over all was very good and will return for sure.

Great place to get a good steak. Food was delicious and the service was phenomenal. Went here for a birthday dinner. Would definitely be back again. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting really good food.

Talk about an AMAZING steakhouse. First of all, our server Sammy was the cutest thing ever! She took really good care of us and her recommendations for appetizers, wine, and our dinner was spot on! The food is amazing. I ordered the garlic peppered ribeye...ohhhh yumm.And the fried pickles, so good. Everyone in our group loved our food. Only complaint was our waiter. Not friendly, he had 1 word answers and looked like he didnt want 2 b there. It didnt take from our experience. Would go again

I do not recommend! Went for my husbands Birthday. Party of 8, 6 out of 8 meals were over cooked. All the steaks were well done or medium well. Everyone ordered medium rare. Now for the fun part 6 out of 8 all got food poisoning! This was a $400 dinner and we tipped our amazing waitress generously. The food was extremely disappointing and then next day was even worse. 6 out of 8 are still having stomach issues.

Service excellent. Interior decorated in Western motif. Since this is the first time dining, I am giving Ruby River a break. The steaks were very flavorful but a lot on the tough side and the meat appeared to be a bit on the light side as far as weight. The sides were fantastic for the most part. The "jacketed baked potato" was something not expected, a deep fried baked potato. I would normally give a three star but the server shined to make it four stars. Good beef would have made it fiveEight months later we returned. Beef was excellent. Ribs very good. Side salads excellent. Service excellent. I would like to up Ruby River to 5 stars.Returned again for anniversary. Pretty much the same. The proteins still are hit and miss. Tonight the steak was a little chewy and the chicken was like a hockey puck. However the ribs were fantastic.

Staff is extremely friendly!! We were seated quickly and our server, Aubrey was fantastic! She brought our beverages quickly and explained specials. She also gave some popular suggestions from the menu. Our food was ready shortly and made to order. Very good food at reasonable prices.

First time there. Was helping a friend move, and another friend from California came to take us to dinner. The food was GREAT, as was the atmosphere and the staff. If Im ever in the area again, I will DEFINITELY pay this place a visit! 🥰🥰🥰

Friendly and fast service, our waiter was on top of everything. Our table appeared very clean along with the restaurant. The food itself was mediocre, I ordered the Avocado and Jalapeño burger (as pictured below), and it was pretty dry. My table also ordered a Ribeye steak, which was good, but very chewy and not seasoned as much as hoped.

Good food at a pretty good price for a steakhouse. I was really impressed with the staff and ambience of the restaurant. Table bread and appetizers were the highlight of the meal. Definitely recommend getting the sampler, it’s enough food to feed two people in of itself. Their special sauce is absolutely delicious. Where the restaurant was lacking was the entrees. My girlfriends avocado burger was dry and cooked past well done and my steak was good but not great. I got the peppered garlic ribeye and it was way too peppery and not nearly salty or garlicky enough. It was cooked to perfection however. Definitely recommend the restaurant if you’re in the area.

It was okay. The atmosphere was cool... food service was fast ... but unattended after food was served. Ribs were a bit dry... the baked potatoe was amazing. We had the cheese fries... which were ...cheese fries... but the ruby sauce was a great twist.

The food is amazing. The wait is worth it! I havent found anything I dont like. The garlic mashed potatoes are off the hook and if you add cheese and bacon, you wont regret it.

My friend decided to bring us here since hes been here before. Big mistake! The service was quick and friendly.The bread they served was warm but very chewy although it was not cooked long enough. The mushrooms and mashed potatoes were ok. The ribeye steak, horrible. Very chewy and salty. My friends and I knew we had made a wrong choice. Sorry, I was rather disappointed and will not be back.

Really impressed! Nothing was lacking and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Dont be intimidated by the lineup. The staff are efficient and tables turnover quickly.Our server, Sydney, made hospitality look effortless. Our food and drinks were served so quickly. Dirty dishes and empty water glasses... I dont even remember them because the service was so good!The food was great! Lots of great menu options made it hard to choose.

Delicious food. Timely and server Reese was fantastic. Made us feel welcomed and made sure we were taken care of.The restaurant was very dry so I felt super dehydrated but other then that a fantastic experience.

Place was good, nice atmosphere. The waitress we had was a huge sweetheart. The only downside was i was a bit disappointed with my steak sandwich dip meal. The bread they used for it was like the croissant bread they use for the breakfast food at burger king and the steak was a bit dry and chewyThere was a loud obnoxious drunk lady screaming the word "f*ggot" multiple times at the table next to us and the waitresses and other staff walked by multiple times as it was happening and didnt do anything. But i get it was closing time and everyone was probably tired and just wanted to go home.

We tried it because it was highly recommended by locals and travelers alike. Now I will return the favor. It was sooooo good! We had seafood linguini. Yummmm! But the jacketed baked potatoes and jacketed candied yams are THE BEST EVER!!My sons and husbands filet and porterhouse didnt need a knife to cut them. So tender!!

Must amazing cheesecake I ever had, and the steaks werent so bad either 😉.Our server was Alex and he really was the best server. Fun, knowledgeable. Incredibly helpful. I have a minor food allergy and he went above and beyond to get management involved to make sure my birthday dinner was perfect.I had the gorgonzola encrusted steak and double battered fries. Yum.Make a reservation and get there a little early.Prices are very reasonable for what you receive.

Great service. Great rodeo themed ambiance. Opolo on the wine list. Tasty iceberg wedge. But deducted 2 stars because the New York steak was rather tough and lacked flavor. I realize you can only expect so much from a $24 steak, but I still think it could have been better. I want to go back and try the prime rib. Its only available on weekends.

Delicious steak 🥩 in Reno area. This place is comparable to Texas Roadhouse, I had the 16 oz ribeye, it was a little bit overcook, I ordered the medium rare. The atmosphere and service were good too. Be prepared, there is a waiting time for table.
