Gorgeous amenities, private room and pool, clean. Amazing food, friendly staff. Awesome hike down to beach. We didn’t want to leave and highly recommend.

Wow. Wow. WOW. Had a most amazing 7 day stay here, and we LOVED it. We had our 5 month old daughter with us, and the staff was extraordinarily accommodating. The casita was lovely, the grounds and private beach access breathtaking, and the restaurant is world class. This was our first family vacation and we’ll never forget our stay. Thank you Royal Isabela, and all the staff!

Simply magnificent. The atmosphere, the view, the food. They don’t charge enough. Try the Isabelina Salad. Also the burger is surprisingly incredible. I have yet to have less than an impressive meal.

It was excellent . The casita was very comfortable, clean and had a great view. The people who works there are very friendly and did everything to help you. Friendly staff and beautiful resort and experience! We were in the presidential suite and it was so lovely. Very well kept and private. The walk down to the beach is not terrible, they’ve made it accessible to an extent - lots of stairs, but it is beautiful. More of a relaxing in the sun and sand type of beach, not swim safe due to high tides but the caves are very pretty. Can’t say much about the golf and other activities offered here as our stay was only for the experience of the private casita.

The service is bilingual, friendly, smiles and quick service. Dont rush, enjoy the environment. The steady breeze will relax you. Golf course looks excellent. Sunset is a vision to experience. Such a gorgeous resort. Beautiful if you want to have a relaxing week. It’s totally worth it just for the views and the relaxation.These are the only things that we found disappointing:1: they are WAY too strict with timings. If you want to check in early or check out an hr later, usually hotels are Ok with that but here they charge people $100 on top of all that you are paying.2: family of 4 they charge $75 for an extra person which I also find ridiculous.3: on a Friday (not weekend yetis a different rate so they charge you more, no flexibility of honoring the rates or give you a better price/discount for anything.Overall, was a wonderful experience staying in but I do recommend the hotel management to look into these things and be a bit more flexible/offer more to the client without paying for even, breathing. Since nothing is included not even a welcome drink.

Everything about this place was amazing! The views, our casita, the service, and the food! When I went to another side of the island I immediately wanted to come back. The service here went ABOVE & BEYOND whenever we needed anything. We will definitely be back!

This is a really nice place to visit, beautiful and peaceful. The food at the restaurant is really good.

Very lovely hotel but will never go back again.We have stayed there before and we’re excited to back. We had a reservation during the massive blackouts earlier this year, we called the hotel to make sure they had power before we flew down there and they wouldn’t give us a straight answer.Finally after getting more assertive with the question they admitted they did not and were running on back up generators.Given the risks of flying to an island with millions without power and the unreliability of generators we sadly had to cancel our trip.Now they refuse to give us our deposit back. That seems pretty ridiculous if you ask me. But considering how much they tried to hide the fact that they were not operating normally I guess it makes sense they would rather steal our $500 than have us ever come back to visit.

Me and my gf traveled here last year and what an experience it was. Beautiful views, great food, friendly staff, access to an private beach and a very comfortable/private casita. If I had to complain about anything it would be the location is very far from the popular attractions in Puerto Rico. Besides that this place is a gem.

This course has views as beautiful as Pebble Beach. Very challenging and windy, but this is a course worth playing.

Royal Isabela was truly a slice of paradise. Their level of hospitality exceeded our expectations beyond measure and it is definitely a place I recommend others to visit.The staff are absolutely incredible they were so helpful from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. From helping us secure a rental car after ours failed, to driving us to the car rental place (Thank you, Frank!Their level of human kindness is immeasurable. Beautiful stay, beautiful casitas, beautiful island. Definitely make time to explore Isabela and all it has to offer.

It was disappointing to say the least, wrong food delivered to table, seafood was undercooked, skirt steak was tough and overcooked. Not what we expected from the place. Guess they were having a bad day.

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights and loved it! The Casitas are amazing, I never wanted to leave. The hike to the beach and the beach itself are very exotic and adventurous. The golf course was amazing. Food was phenomenal. I hope we can return one day!

Exclusive hotel and golf course located in Isabela, Puerto Rico. Isabela is one of the most beautiful towns in Puerto Rico and Royal Isabela is located in a beautiful clif near the ocean. The hotel has one of the best restaurants in town. The golf course is challenging. Specially, on windy days which are very common. You can expect many blind shots, deep bunkers, a lot of Cliff, and fast greens. You can also spect some amazing ocean views. In summary, this is a highly recommend golf course.

We absolutely loved our stay and cant wait to return! We found the room to be clean and the staff to be friendly and very helpful. The furniture in the room isnt new but I didnt expect it to be as thats part of the charm of the place. Very peaceful and relaxing, especially with the plunge pools. This place went beyond my expectations!

Just had our honeymoon here and it was GORGEOUS. Beautiful view of the ocean from the Casitas, amazing food, and guest services was incredible bringing us anything we need and providing helpful information. We got one of the couples massages in our room and loved it. The private plunge pool is romantic and adds to the scenery. Loved this resort and definitely plan on returning someday!!

Beautiful quite place to stay. If you are looking for a place/hotel to relax with your partner this is the place. The “cabañas” are gorgeous, count with their own private pool, has a big living room that has a sofa-bed, one big bedroom, a big bath with a bathtub, separate toilet and 3 different shower heads that the doors open right to their private room. Is impeccable clean, and the service is 100% good. Ruben Rodriguez runs the extra mile to give you not the 5 ⭐️ service but the 10+ ⭐️, a humble person that will give you the best experience that you ever have in this hotel. The food is delicious 🤤, they have room service also if you just want to stay in the room. They also offer massage 💆🏻‍♀️ in your own room if you feel stress this is a good option for you and your couple. This Royal place has the best view that you can have. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

We should have read the reviews! Here now and after 1 night I can tell you there is Nothing luxurious about this place! Spend the extra money and go stay at the Ritz in Dorado Beach!!!We are going to play golf today but the course looks super rough too! Quite sure this place only stays in business because of the spectacular views overlooking the ocean…Will update the review after golf today..

The golfing experience with three other golfers was good but not exceptional as we expected. The lady at the pro-shop was friendly,the food cart girl was super nice,the offer we used(2 for $100was extremely reasonable. The three things we did not like #1 Greens in front 9 in bad shape,back 9 greens some what better but not to the standard of a 5 Star Resort #2 one of the carts battery was dead in hole 1,reallyyyy!!!! Second cart at the last 2 holes battery almost dead!!! #3 Signs directing you to next hole could be greatly improved. As locals we will probably return but one of us came down from Hawaii so he was very objective about the opinion of the course comparing it to courses in Hawaii and said although nice,it needs better care and the greens should be improved ASAP! For us locals is almost a 2 hr. drive so we wanted the experince to be somewhat better and also want our resorts to shine when compared to others in PR and abroad. Beautiful location and gorgeous retreat! We stayed in the villas ( casitas facing the ocean and the view was just amazing. The service was top notch, and quick when ordering from the room, recommend making reservation ahead of time to eat at the restaurant. And avoid any last minute issues due to the covid rules put in place. We will be back!

I cant recommend staying at Royal Isabela highly enough. The casitas were beautiful, the entire property was gorgeous and peaceful, and the restaurant - both the food and views - were incredible. Most of all , the customer service was unmatched. Maria and Frank went above and beyond to help us when we had an issue with a taxi service.

We decided to stay at Royal Isabela because of the amazing reviews on GOOGLE but it did not meet my expectations. All of the REAL reviews are on Trip Advisor. When booking, I called to confirm the activities that were listed on the website. They said horseback riding was next door when really, it was 10-15 minutes away so we had to rent a car. The taxi service in the area that they recommend isnt always available so its a hit or miss, which is another reason why we had to rent a car. When you do rent a car, please keep in mind that you will not be parked near your casita, its about 2 miles away. The golf carts stop running at 9:30, after that you will have to walk to your Casita. The resort is not well lit at night, so keep that in mind. There is no food delivery near, or Uber so if you dont rent a car, you will be stuck with the resort food.When arriving, Guest Services wasnt very welcoming.. It was kind of just like "oh youre here, sign these papers and give us your credit card". Huge disappointment since I was so excited to be there.Our first night there, we went to eat at the restaurant on the resort. We were seated at 8 pm and didnt receive our food until 9-9:30. The lamb chops were charred on the outside and mushy on the inside with little to no seasoning. My partner had a eggplant "salad" that was mostly shrimp and mayonnaise? The best thing about dinner was the drinks.The views from the Casita are great! The only thing is, is that you cant really enjoy the pool in the back because of the big cockroaches. You cant walk around in the room in peace either because of the huge spiders and cockroaches that run across the floor. There were lizards and snakes as well but those were expected. It was a culture shock for sure. The room is all wood and it was VERY dusty which is most likely why the spiders were there. Because it is all wood, they ask that you dont disinfect or will damage the wood. Even though its COVID. :/To walk down to the private beach was a nightmare!! Its about 170 steps down and its through the woods. I felt like I was a wild Thornberry. They should really get work done on that area, it didnt feel safe at all.When checking out, someone came to our Casita to help us carry our luggage which was great but he stood in the door way while we were still gathering our things.... which was very uncomfortable.This resorts needs major work done, it is not worth the price at all. I wish I would have checked reviews on all websites before booking. I am very disappointed. I will not be returning and I would not recommend.

We have been going to the Royal Isabella since it opened years ago. We were always so delighted with the atmosphere but that food (a la cartewas outstanding. Our recent visit was not delightful. The quality of the food has changed drastically. Gone is the esquite menu and entrees. Our meals last week were so greasy. We paid resort fees for greasy food from a limited menu that we could have eaten at any restaurant down the street. Extremely disappointing.

Best hotel I have stayed in a while. Perfect choice to spend some time away from the pandemic stress. Individual casitas, friendly room service, and chef-kiss meals from Jota served in the terraces, allowed for social distancing that felt more social than distant. The view from everywhere is breathtaking. Maria, the Manager, and all of her staff made our stay warm, welcoming, and special. Cherry on top: we got to celebrate a friend’s anniversary in a romantically divine way that also felt safe. Thank you all for such a wonderful time! HIGHLY recommend it. It’s totally worth it! Hope to visit again!

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SERVICEIts a beautiful property but the customer service is terrible. Luis took a $20 tip and assured he would help me on July 3rd when I was booking a room for July 5, 2021 directly at the property. I told him I wanted to stay but needed to cancel my current reservations. He told me to get the room and that he would help me out if I couldnt cancel my current reservations. I called later that night and left a message but nobody called me back. So I called the next day on the 4th and talked to Luis and he told me he would cancel my reservations and would help me get my deposit back. He said hed call me on Monday July 5 but he never did. So I called on today on July 5, and started speaking with Maria the manager but I lost reception. I called back and Luis answered. He was rude and not helpful. When I asked to speak with Maria, he told me she was busy but that he spoke to her and she could not help me. Hey Luis, thanks for keeping your word and calling me back.The other issue is that I arrived at the restaurant on the property at 6pm for 7pm dinner reservations. Because they were not busy, they say us immediately but forgot to bring our menus. An hour later when they came to ask if we knew what we wanted to eat, I said how? We never got a menu. Irma stepped in and brought us menus. On the menu they had Wagyu A6 for $85. I ordered it instead of what I was going to get, la mariscada because Irma recommended it and said it wasnt always on the menu and the mariscada was. I asked if it was really Wagyu A6, to which she replied, yes. From Japan? She said, yes I think so. This was around 7:30 pm. When my steak finally arrived at 9pm, yes 3 hours later, I looked at it and when I cut into it, I immediately knew it was not A6. I told her what I thought and she assured it was, so I kept the steak. The restaurant manager came by next and asked how everything was. I told him what I thought about the steak and he insisted I change my order so I did. He recommended the fish and I accepted. After the manager left, Irma came back and showed me a picture of the label on the steak which read Wagyu MB5-6 from Australia. She said, I just wanted to show you that its really Wagyu. To which I replied, the menu reads Wagyu A6. This is false advertising. She thanked me for the observation and said she would talk to management never offering an apology. When the fish came out at 9:30, let me tell you it was bland, no flavor and the side was something that resembled refried beans. I was very disappointed. Total came out to $170 with the $20 tip for Irma for my wife and I. We had the rabbit for appetizer, 4 drinks, 2 meals. Even my wife said she wouldve preferred to have eaten at food truck. Will not return again.VERY DISAPPOINTED OVERALL WITH ROYAL ISABELA.

Weve played the course five times since Hurricane Maria. Today the course was in the best shape weve seen. Some fairways and greens still need some work, but not bad! Check it out!

Its by far the best resort to stay in during the Covid pandemic, because the "casitas" are separated and even have their own plunge pool. Room service meals were quickly delivered; so we never had to get out of our casita. Depending on which casita you stay in, the ocean view is a dream. The rooms living and bedroom and bathroom are fantastic. My only gripe is that some furniture really needs to be replaced; especially the sofa (wow). The wooden flooring is charming and lovely, but some parts looked really dingy. Some of the panels were even raised enough for me to trip over them. It feels like it could use some TLC; but its so charming, Im definitely going back before the year is over.

Royal Isabela is beautiful resort. The casita we stayed was simply gorgeous and peaceful. We asked for top view casita and they gave us that. The Casita was clean. Room service was also good, but room for improvement: (make bit service fast). Spa was simply relaxing and refreshing. The only thing I would recommend them to do is in such curfew situation let the employees stay in the resort to serve the guest instead of closing everything early. That’s only I didn’t like. Because I wanted to have dinner at 8-9 they would take last sitting in restaurant at 6 or room service order at 8:30 which is bit early. So, I wish they work on that if possible. Overall, it was really peaceful and relaxing experience :)

My wife and I are old customers of Royal Isabela and unfortunately have witness how this beautiful place has deteriorated in the last years. We decided to spend our anniversary there, hoping it would be as great as the first years we visited the resort, but unfortunately it wasnt. First of all, I ordered flowers to be set in the room upon arrival which I asked also to have ocean view. My wife stayed in the restaurant with another couple we invited and in the mean while, I went to the room to check every thing was ok. Flowers where not there and the room did not have ocean view as requested months ago, I decided to ask the concierge, who told me he did not know about them. I called the company to see what happened and they told me the flowers were delivered, finally they were found inside the restaurant but there was no communication between the restaurant and concierge. When I arrived to the table all were waiting for drinks ordered 40 minutes agoFinally they told us that drinks were not made because ingredients were missing as the bar tender also, so we asked for the wine list and finally got our drinks an hour after being there. About the restaurant, I will reserve my comments because next day after my complaints the chef called me immediately and worked upon them, which I respect and appreciate.Next morning in our room roaches were seen in the bathroom, fixtures and hardware very deteriorated. Door locks not working. Jacuzzi not working, some towels were yellow, TV of room not working adequately, missing woods in the deck, Fence as floor woods deteriorated. Asked to talk with the Manager Mr. Eugenio Lopez but no calls were received. Just before getting out for sightseeing called maintenance to bring us a thick Blanket and do the room, when arrived late in night nothing was done. Found manager who told us that next day will speak to us. Never saw him again. Next day other manager came to our room, Maria. She was very polite and I explained her about our complaints, told me they where working on it.At this moment it is not worthy to pay what you pay for this place. Major changes have to be done.Unfortunately we will not return unless major changes are done.

This place is amazing. Beautiful views, great food, and the hospitality is outstanding.

Excellent experience for a local guy who visited for the first time to celebrate his birthday. Tough golf course but all the staff was great, from booking to the caddy, excellent crew. And the restaurant was exquisite, full menu, diverse wine list, perfext views, in fact, nothing to envy from a nice place in San Juan.

OMG! I had a great experience in this hotel. I got Casita 15 and the place was super neat. Nothing to complain about.Staff is super attentive. The private pool was the best. We spent long hours in it.The food awwww delicious.Will definitely come back soon.

Very beautiful place but the restaurant’s food is horrible and room service was giving somewhat of an attitude. Barely any food places delivered so when you stay there you’re kinda stuck eating from their restaurant.

Best place to spend a vacation

I only went to the restaurant but the place is stunningly beautiful and the food was delicious. The only flaw was that they had just a couple of waiters and it was hard to get their attention above the rest of the customers. Would love to come back and stay a weekend though.

10/10 — Highly recommend this property!!! We had the most amazing time from start to finish! Where do I even begin? The grounds are stunning!!! The casitas are beautiful inside and out — especially the private pools and the incredible views of the ocean right from your BED!! We walked down to the beach with ease and had it all to ourselves. It was amazing! The staff is seriously awesome, they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! The restaurant had some amazing dishes as well! HIGHLY recommend the seafood and risotto and the lamb chops!! I will definitely be visiting again next year and hopefully every year after!!
