Royal India - Indian Restaurant Tralee - Indian restaurant in Tra Li, Ireland
Excellent food and service, the best we have had in Ireland ever. Will be back very soon.
Great food! Tikka chicken is really good
Very nice restaurant and food, especially the waiter and owner are very polite.
Very authentic food. Best Indian restaurant in the area.
Ordered dal and nan and some side dishes. Me and my husband both felt that food was stale and I even had stomach ache after eating it. Nan was sweet and also almost uncooked , felt like eating raw dough.
Where to start...1st off we were seated at a table with chairs that should have been thrown out 20years ago,no padding with the wood coming through. The dust on top of the wall panelling hadnt seen a cloth in years,we ordered prawns on puri for starters which comprised of about 2 prawns chopped up on a fried chapatti which was drenched in an indescribable sickly sauce. When we asked for extra poppadoms we were told that they had run out...akin to Eskimos running out of ice...for mains we had chicken resala and lamb rogan josh with pilau rice and chips, to say that we werent enamoured with any of these dishes would be an understatement, the rogan josh was peppery and unlike any Ive ever had before while the resala had very little to write home about, being both bland and peppery also. We were also told that they had run out of chardonnay when requested and that dessert wasnt even on the menu. On receiving the bill we were shocked to find that our meals did not come with an option of rice or chips/naan but these had to be paid for separately...only free with meals from the takeaway, when we pointed out to management that this wasnt specified on the menu he did say he "might " look into rectifying this in the future and promptly removed the charge from our bill. To say we left with a sour taste in our mouth was an understatement, never have I experienced anything like this, from the poor service to the equally poor food, if I could "award" the Royal India with any stars it would have to be in the minus bracket, I would not recommend this place anyone ,and to say it would put fawlty towers to shame would be an understatement.
Not good at all . I ordered daal makhani and coriander naan. They served chana daal saying this is daal makhani. Imagine they do not have any idea about type of daal and said we consider this all same.Garlic naan was sweet in taste. Never ate sweet coriander garlic naan in my life. Please avoid going to this place
Great food and service is outstanding.
Nice staff, food a little bland but great onion bhaji
Had a meal in the Royal India tonight absolutely amazing food brilliant staff very reasonable
Always good food lovely polite staff. The owner is very accommodating 🙂
Great food and lovely staff.Very nice owner ,very friendly .Highly recommend☺
Just had a fab meal at Royal India. The food was fantastic and the service was great. I’d highly recommend the lamb balti.
Delicious food and pleasant staff. Made us feel very welcome. Would certainly recommend
Loved visiting this restaurant - had a great dining experience recently and looking forward to going back. Food was delicious, mouth-watering! Thank you all at the Royal.
Fantastic food ,,,great friendly staff ,cant wait for next visit
My first Time in this place, didnt expect this high standart of food and beautiful service- and you could see they were busy. If you Like Indian food this restaurant is a right place to go
Ordered "Set menu item 1" on Thursday at 5:20pm.Telephone operator said it would take 45minutes.Showed up after 45 minutes. Was still waiting there for another 30 minutes(until ~6:35pm).Asked about my order, the staff member went to kitchen. No update after 5 minutes.I asked the staff at the counter about my order, the staff member told me to wait a few minutes longer.I left.Much longer wait than stated.Terrible communication to customers.
Staff were very friendly but thats as far as it goes. Food was a big letdown. Apart from the fact they omitted some of the food items ordered none of us liked what we got everything was just bland
Best indian restaurant in town. Staff are so friendly and food is always consistent. Really appreciate doing such a big order for a special occasion everyones food was amazing not a grain of rice leftover!
The food here is pretty good but more than once I have been left waiting 30 - 40 minutes for takeaway.
Top class food, always so fresh and great value for money. Great selection of dishes, highly recommend it!
Always had my Indian food cravings fixed here. Frequented very often. Food was always consistent in taste. And especially loved their warm soft naan!
The food is amazing, authentic and fresh. The staff are so friendly, the place is clean and the price is very fair. Thanks to the staff member who gave me a cookie she had baked, it was fabulous!
Food delicious but ordering online terrible. Always 20min later then what the pick up time set on the app. Very disappointed that way. The restaurant should fix this issue...
Best Indian food I have ever tasted. So delicious! Service was brilliant too. Highly recommend!
Royal india is the nicest Indian Ive ever had. I would normal only ever order a korma or a tikka masala, I have started to become more adventurous (because of recommendations from the ownerand ive never been disappointed with any dish. The restaurant was busy with tables all adhering to the social distance restrictions, and you could see that it was extremely busy with takeaway and deliveries. The service never faltered the waiter was so friendly and attentive and as always the food was impeccable. At the end of our meal the head chef / owner came out to check how our meal was. Which was such a lovely touch. I cant recommend royal india enough for takeaway or sit in. The standard of food never alters whether its takeaway or sit in. You can tell by the food that the chef has care and pride in everything he does.
I am just waiting for the take away.. and not even tasted the food..but I thought of giving a review before that because of a single reason.. the manager.."shafin".hez a total stranger to me.,but i observed the way he handles each customer. He develops a relationship with every customer who comes in.The ambience.of the place is good and he cares each customers needs..I came all the way from kilkenny and thought of going for an Indian food, when I stayed nearby.i will give another honest review after tasting the food for sure..
Well cooked meal, lamb was tender and spiced perfectly. Pleasant and quick service. Any criticism? Perhaps replace expired lightbulbs but I do prefer a restaurant like this that worries more about food than decor.
One of the nicest Indian meals ever. Ordered the set meal for 2. First time there was as much chicken as there was sauce and it was clearly marinaded rather than being added as so many other places do. Delicious lamb balti, starters, and side dishes all very tasty and generous portion size for €45.50. Very nice staff, friendly, pleasant and courteous. Definitely recommend it.
Order in which the food was served1Desserts2Main course3StartersIf this is not bad enough, they have got arrogant staff who doesnt want to take order because he cant manage orders from 2 tables. To finish things off in style, they served with the wrong order TWICE!
Experienced wrong dishes being served! Starters served after main course! Asian staff member refused to take my order saying, main course order is taken!!! Such staff needs to get fired!
The pakoras were completely burnt couldnt even eat them, ordered a garlic naan bread got plain instead. The chilli missalla was just spicy no flavour besides that I wouldnt even call that a missalla just tomato sauce with chillis. Wouldve just made the food at home and it wouldve been a hundred times nicer, so disappointed. Oh yeah and the samosas were the blandest thing ever so upset and the dips fml. No good.
I have been Here couple of times. Being a Chef myself, I am little fuzzy about the food, but I must say the food here was one of the best I ever tasted in Kerry and Dublin combined.Chef Palash. (I dont know if I spelled it correct 😅 is a real Artist when it comes to food his passion for food can be seen even when you speak to him, The dinning experience, dinning staff, the environment inside, everything is top totch. I would definetly go back to this place and would recommend it to every on out there.Keep up the good work Guys. All the best.
The best Indian restaurant in Tralee, never been disappointed with the food or service. Would highly recommend here as they have a menu to cater for everyone

Dropped in for dinner earlier. Tuesday evening early enough. We were actually the only ones there which is never a great sign. Really fancied an Indian so wasnt going looking for another one as we were on hols with the kids and were tired enough at that stage!. Well.... Really glad we stayed. The food was immense. Starters and mains were top notch and we got a mild dish for the kids which went down well. Gentleman who served us was very friendly also which is always a nice touch. Thanks for a lovely meal.
Excellent staff, beautiful atmosphere and amazing food. Very friendly and caring staff, always looking out for their customers. Food is of excellent quality. The delightful tastes of the Indian cuisine have definitely made an impression. Would definitely recommend
