My room had a full size bath..and I soaked in it till the water cooled off...great brekkie as well.
Beautiful old hotel in the heat of BH that is renovated but keeps the charm. Takes you back to an elegant era. Great balcony. Very comfortable room with comfy bed. Lovely buffet breakfast in the gorgeous dining room. I would love to stay here again next time I visit.
We only stayed one night. When we checked in, the lady of the reception was very nice and friendly. However, when we checked out, the staff (a gentlemanwas very unprofessional, he wanted to charge me again, I told him I’ve already paid my accommodation which was $147.26to ‘Booking.com’ and wanted to show him the confirmation email, but he said he didn’t want to see the email and would charge me $157.50. We negotiated for a long time. So, always double check your payment to avoid to be charged twice.
What a surprise. A stunning downstairs with a sitting and dining room decked out in 1930s club furniture. The staircase is also beautiful. Pre covid there was a restaurant and a lit fireplace. Hopefully all that will return now that life is apparently returning to normal. Upstairs rooms are very well appointed and comfy and clean.I hope the future for this gem is bright. My wife and I loved our stay.
Didnt get my room as advertised on booking.com, no access to wifi as there was no sticker on the TV as mentioned on the pamphlet, door to the balcony locks behind you so you need to wedge an item into the door. Shower I had, had barely any pressure and the shower head was jutting water off to one side. For the exorbitant price this place charges you would think there would be complimentary breakfast to go alongside. The only reason this gets 3 stars is because the bed was very comfortable. That being said, I would not stay at this hotel again as the customer service at check out was sub par and any complaints I had, had to be directed by email for the owner of the hotel.I cant comment on the quality of the other rooms. Maybe it was just my luck.
Old style hotel very quaint, clean, tidy and good air conditioning. Bit pricey for broken hill but in the centre of town. Would stay here again.
A must stay well restored in the art deco style with many original fittings the dining room is a must cosy rooms with a comfy bed and all you need some have a bath book a room that runs onto the large wrap around verandah enjoy pre dinner drinks in your top hat and tails interestingly for these days the rooms offer a well stocked mini bar did I mention the bath robes perfect for that verandah drinks
Very comfortable accommodation. Meals on the dining room were of good quality. The location of the hotel was in the middle of town so it was close to many shops etc.Very efficient and friendly staff.I enjoyed my 2 night stay.
Lovely atmosphere in a beautiful art deco dining room. Small but delicious menu. Little gem in Broken Hill. Didnt stay in the accomodation but told by others that it is equally impressive.
Stayed in hotel for 2 nights and must say our room was dark and dreary. Hotel is historic but needs help and entry for the hotel is also dreary. In our room we had to have our lamps on at all time . Were so looking forward to our experience in this hotel and greatly disappointed.
We stayed for 2 nights and it was lovely. Comfortable room, nice large communal balcony upstairs to relax on, deep bath, right in the middle of town and walking distance to lots of great places to eat.
A cracker of a place. Beautiful dining sitting room elegant stairs wood panelling. Good aircon in rooms bathrooms updated but a touch small they were back in the day. Delightful staff.
The Art Deco style of this hotel has been kept even with renovations. The room was VERY clean and well appointed, as was the rest of the of the hotel. The resturant served the best food I have eaten in ages.Compliments to the chef and kitchen staff, we done. All of the staff here were very professional and kind.My bed was comfortable bed and I had a large bathtub to relax in.Ensuite was very clean.Really enjoyed my stay here.
Fantastic art deco ambiance from the moment your enter the building. It has an impressive set of stairs to the rooms upstairs. The room was bright, tastefully decorated, spacious and clean. The ensuite is spotless. The restaurant serves excellent meals including breakfast. On Friday evening live music is provided during dinner. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to ensure a memorable stay. Its our new favourite place to stay in Broken Hill.
Has a very nice charm to it from the street and when you enter. The rooms can be quite quirky, ours was almost split level in a corner spot. Room was clean and comfortable for an overnight stay. I wouldn’t usually refer to it in a review but I must say the impression that stuck with us the most was the pretty poor attitude from the person at the front counter. We didn’t eat there so it was our only interaction with staff. In fact that’s why we didn’t eat there. It was surly at check-in and just as bad the next morning at check-out. The breakfast / coffee window on the side street was handy though before heading off on the road. Will look around before our next booking in Broken Hill.
We had a great stay here. Very clean and comfortable rooms. I love the Art Deco authenticity. We didnt have dinner in the restaurant, however, we did enjoy the comfy couch in front of the fire in the large lounge. I highly recommend this Hotel.
