City park accessible by ferry boat & other means, with an amusement park, picnic spots & more.
Superb outdoor experience. To fully explore the gardens / park, make sure you have 4+ hours to walk around. It has great cafe-bars and places to rest and take in the wonderful scenery. 🏞️👍
My favorite walk in Stockholm is walking around Djurgården. Following the shoreline around the island (including a quick and well worth it detour out on Beckholmen, a smaller island just outside Djurgården (and this is where Wasa was foundis about 15 000 steps / takes about 2h plus any stops.
An oasis of nature in the immediate vicinity of Stockholm city center. It is on the same island where you can find the well-known ABBA museum, Vasa, but also the amusement park with numerous attractions, the circus and the zoo. many events for all ages. it can be reached on foot, but it can also be reached by public transport. As soon as you leave the museum area, you reach this quiet area. There are cafes, toilets, picnic areas, etc It takes about an hour to walk from the museum area to the farthest opposite point. There is also the possibility to take the bus no. 80 (public transportwhich has a fixed stop in the farthest area where there is also a cafe.I recommend. it is quite a different atmosphere compared to the city center. I was very impressed
Beautiful place! A must to visit place when you visit Stockholm if you love nature!
Is a nice, calm, vast park with relaxing trails. Particularly nice at dusk, is a natural and simple atmosphere, fit for a relaxed family walk and nothing more (or less!than that.
Awesome place to hang around. Quite and beautiful location.
One of the best places in Stockholm for waking, jogging, riding a bike, just reading a book. Very calm and very beautiful on spring and summer.
Beautiful place canal park and the most beautifulest walk back into city excellent choice for day out with family or friends and car and boat show was excellent.
A great place on our globe👍😎
Quiet and beautiful place to spend the evening!
One of the magical spots in Stockholm.
Stunning park! Loved visiting and riding scooters through
To walk around at Djurgården and have a stroll along the channel, Djurgårdskanalen, is a good way to make the Sunday feels a little bit better. Its fantastic! ⭐⭐⭐
Absolutely beautiful place. So in autumn and when the sun is shining it is the perfect place to relax. Whether its a pleasant walk, an autumn picnic or an easy run, heres everything you need (fresh air, nature, water:)
So big and wild. Be careful precise when you go there. There is no Royal garden there so Google may misguide you. There are couple of beautiful museums so one should visit them.
Absolutely beautiful place. This is one of the best place close to Stockholm city to visit. The pristine nature, water and the peaceful atmosphere here is truly rejuvenating
Perfect place for sightseeing and birb exploration. Took the buss from odenplan to blockhusudden and walked back to skansen. Bring food and water, maybe binocculars and make your way back. Youll see some amazing sights!
Awesome place to visit.
Stockholm can be proud for such a piece of nature inside the city. Real forest with real deers (met couple of them), beautiful ‘shore’, wild parts as well as maintained parks. Feels spacey. Easily accessible with a tram from the city center. Each place is in a walkable distance. You can run, bike, have a picnic or just get lost in the woods.I deliberatively avoided all the standard attractions of the island (museum, Skansen, circus, ...)
Wonderful Nature. Perfect for taking a walk, jogging or riding a bike. Been there on a sunday afternoon and only saw a few people. Had the luck to see a deer instead, since no one was there to make noice and scare them.
It has everything one can wish for, great zoo, concert halls, museums, funfair, summer concerts, long walks, trees, canals, cycle routes, seaside, bars, pubs, restaurants, beautiful people. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the visit.
Fantastic park. Similar to Central Park in NYC, but bigger. The walking trails go further than what is indicated on Google maps and it is seamlessly connected to the park to the north across the river. The entire island is essentially a park. You can spend most of a day walking through here. In October the leaves were changing colors and falling off the trees and the weather was great.
Occasionally its good to be a tourist in the town you live in, so when we were offered a 2 for one deal, we hopped on board and took a trip. Have to say that seeing Stockholm from another perspective was surprisingly great. Only small negative was that it was hard to photograph the sights through the glass windows and limited space outside, especially if its a nice sunny day! But I recommend this trip not just for tourists but for all you Swedes who live in Stockholm 👍👍👍
Perfect place for a walk but the palaces cost more than I was willing to pay. A long walk from the other sights so either be prepared to hike a bit or rent a bike and make it easy.
Awesome to take a Walk and look at all the nice nature have to offer. Also great buildings and culture. I always walk my dog here everyday when I was living close buy. Weekend can be a bit crowded.
This extensive park and island in the eastern part of central Stockholm is lovely all year around. Take a walk in the spring time and watch flowers and birds arrive for the summer, have a picnic, visit an outdoor café or restaurant or visit the amusement park Gröna Lund in the summer, watch the colours of autumn arrive in the woods and visit the open-air museum Skansen with the Christmas market in the winter (Skansen is lovely in the summer too). The island is also home to several other museums including the well-known Vasa museum.
Loved it, highly recomended, great place to walk, run, chill.
Great place to spend your free time with friends, family. Sunbathing, picnicking, playing games etc
It’s a nice park but this exact location is a construction site and closed for public
Very very large and beautiful park with lots of nature, shops and restaurants. It is THE place where people relax in a busy world. There is public transportation as well as soon room for by cycling.Small electric steps are also available for rent using apps like Glyde etc. allowing you to come across live sheep which are hurdled to other locations. (See my photos)
Fantastic views with so much greenery!
What can be said about this beauty of a park? Absolutely amazing, clean, peaceful and lovely.
Quiet and peaceful, if you want to get away form any noise ,please stroll here is a good decision.
Absolutely gorgeous. Hard to even tell that its right next to the biggest city in the country.
Absolutely delightful place. Beautiful autumn colors, quiet...it was just beautiful.
A large park within the city of Stockholm. Think Central park with more museums, a theme park and a zoo with only Nordic animals.Well worth a visit if you are in Stockholm.
Perfect Spot in town to walk through the forest with the sound of young and old animals of Swedish nature. Highlights are little clearings on little hills in the forest. As well as Skansen the natural zoo. And a couple little restaurants along the water and the roads. Rent a bike. From the city center or strandvägen if you want to see all of it in one day
Pleasant but quite normal... it’s nice to have walk there but nothing very special.
Amazing little pocket of nature in Stockholm. Worth getting lost and wandering in there for a few hours.
Amazing place for a promenade and a coffee in between! This day happened to be a winter wonderland ❄🌞
The Royal Game Park is one of the busiest tourist attraction of Stockholm covered with forest and surrounded by water. However, It is a perfect place to have a walk or just to sit down somewhere to enjoy the calm and tranquility of the Swedish nature.
Nice park - can wander around for a couple of hours. Nice to relax, not crowded at all during autumn.
Expansive beautiful gardens in the middle of Stockholm. Incredible to have these lush gardens so accessible in a city center. Worth a visit all year around to witness the changing seasons.
This Island, very beautifull with its canals and green grounds is idle for long walks and jogging if you are tired of eating in stockholm. You will see lots of people jogging and relaxing in this island. Better to walk around( Free-0 SEKthis island inroads instead of seeing this island in a Stockholm Ferry ships (SEK 450which are quite costly for a normal tourist.
a very pretty and idyllic park, but to be fair, the blue gate is the coolest bit about it
Stunning place to run or walk in the middle of the city! Many quiet dirt and gravel trails to explore.
Great location for a picknick, especially on the far side. This island hosts some great and interesting attractions, many which is well suited for families with kids. This includes amusement parks, lush gardens, playgrounds, restaurants, cafes, museums and concerts. This is also a nice environment for a stroll along the water.
We took the off beaten path. It is really that a garden. But fun exploring places to walk through.
Its simply amazing. A beautiful park in the middle of the city, on its own island. Take a refreshing walk here from spring until autumn.
Djurgården is a really nice location for longer walks. You can walk along the coast of this small island. Very nice views over the water and canals. With proper clothing you can walk here year around with impressive views, mostly without traffic or the buzz from nearby Stockholm.
