Royal Canadian Navy Monument in Ottawa
Description
Privilege
Beau petit spot a voir sur le bord de leau
A very nice and quiet place to sit and enjoy nature. You can see some fish from the river bank, chipmunks digging holes in the grass, i saw a big red bird passing by, I still dont know what kind it was. Quite nice
MoreAmazing BEAUTIFUL GORGEOUS
Beautiful memorial. To bad some idiot vandalized the walk way. Along the edge are metalic maple leafs. Approximatel 6 inches in diameter. Several have been stolen leaving damage to the concrete.
MoreIt is closed for now, but a beautiful spot to bike to along the river paths and wander around enjoying the architecture and the view of parliament.
MoreSoothing views at both of the day and night, gives calming feeling when you step on the shore(BTW CHECK OUT these fun bids!)
MoreBeautiful piece of art and message.
24k big shiny ball for sell. Best offer! Or we can exchange for a few square feet of land :)
MoreCalm place.
The monument itself doesnt look too spectacular but the island its situated on is beautiful and offers splendid views of the Ottawa River, downtown Ottawa and the Hull sector of Gatineau.
MoreBeautiful and never crowded. Great spot for a picnic date or a nap on the grass. Wish Ottawa had more serene spaces like this one. Havent tried it yet, but I imagine it isnt a bad spot for viewing fireworks from Parliament as long as youre in front of the monument. Even when there isnt fireworks, the view is great. I recommend going at dusk when the sky is orange and violet and the waters are calm.
MoreBeautiful scenery, can’t believe I never went before the last days of living in Ottawa
MoreUn excelente monumento
A very beautiful monument to memorialize those that served our great country on water. Very peaceful and calming.
MoreThe Royal Canadian Navy Monument is a small memorial park located at Richmond Landing, next to the Ottawa River in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It commemorates the men and women who have served or are currently serving in the Royal Canadian Navy.
MoreLovely memorial. But a bit out of the way for most visitors. But there again so is much of the navy much of the time!
MoreLovely spot by the Ottawa River.
Beautiful monument and a great view.
Nice quiet place with nice views.
Beautiful little monument to the Royal Canadian Navy with the name of every ship used in the navy from 1910 to 2010 engraved in stone. Very peaceful little spot to just sit and get a great view of Ottawa over the river
MoreA beautiful monument at nighttime. If you find yourself at the Mill St Brew Pub, its a 3 minute walk (through parking lot/under the portage bridge). The monument is situated in Richmond Landing which the NCC prettied up for 150 celebrations. Its very serene, with large rocks which act as benches to view the Ottawa River, Peace Tower, Supreme Court, and other buildings from a totally different vantage point.
MoreThis is a beautiful monument in a great spot. The shape of the monument reminds you of the shape of a large naval ship, while its sleek, beautiful design doesnt distract from its natural setting in the Ottawa River. You can get great photos of Parliament Hill from this spot too!
MoreBelle balade.
Nice place for a lunch walk.
