I visited this restaurant almost after a decade, a nostalgic moment for me, iconic place, best quality food, great ambiance, friendly staff...

Really the place lives up to its name. Its famous for its chats and other veg dishes. I tried the basket chat It was really delicious in taste. Easily 2 people can share one basket chat. Its a must visit place if you are around Lucknow or even as a tourist.

The food here is incredibly overhyped. Do not fall for the publicity stunts put online on platforms like Youtube. The flavors of the food are just confusing. We ordered the basket chaat and chole tikki chaat in both of them the only dominating flavor was of tamarind and nothing else. Tamarind basket and Tamarind chat...Horrendous!!

Went to have their famous chaat (street foodand were heavily disappointed.In Navratre of Sept 2022, instead of having chaat at the gate, we decided to dine in.We ordered 1 basket chaat (see pic), which turned out to be very sweet because of overloaded sweet dahi and sauth. I couldnt taste the saltiness and crispiness of the aaloo tikki. The topping included boiled potatoes, boiled chhole, and some namkeen Sev with sweet curd and tamarind chutney. After fourth or the fifth bite, i felt like I had enough.We also ordered a few other items but they took a long time to serve. At around 9 pm, most items were finished. Items like lassi, matar tikki, and dahi bhalle. Server took our order and after 10 minutes informed us that the item has finished and is not available. We wasted more than 30 mins due to this mismanagement.Later, we made another mistake of asking for the feedback book. They took another 10 mins and couldnt find it. We left without providing any feedback.Suggestion: better have street food near the gate instead of dine in, dont order basket chaat, and go there by 7 pm.

Its very nice and the food quality is very good. Ambience is okay okay. Service is good 👍 . Prices are high but match the quality of food. We try spring rolls and veg Chowmein that are awesome. Hazratganj Lucknow .

Good place to eat. There are so many varieties to chose from. The place is flocked by the foodies and the atmosphere there is quite nice. Really a must visit if you happen to be in Lucknow.

Over hyped restaurant which become famous by food vloger who must not have sense of taste anymore. The very famous Basket chat is too much sweet where I personally felt that I paid Rs 275(Over pricedjust for sweet curd. Veg Cebab was too much spicy. On Social media, it seems yummy but when you taste it, you realise that you must not trust what you see on screen. Huge huge disappoint from Royal Cafe. Kudos to all those food vloger who keep promoting such a worst items and places too.

I felt like little hyped but they truly there. The crowd starts gathering to the restaurant as soon as they start the shop. We tried their signature dish basket chat and pani poori both were good

The taste of food was great. I ordered my special one that was honey chilli potato, basket chat and veg manchurian with noodles and 4 different shakes and it all made me happy with taste and aroma too. I ordered all that for 4 pax with the cheque amount around 2500/- and we could not able to finish all that at the end so we requested to pack some remained food as the facility was available in Royal Cafe at Hazratganj. Great experiences with the Services too. 😊👍🌱

This restaurant is located right in the middle of the market. One of the famous eateries in Lucknow. Most famous chaat is the basket chaat here. It consists of papdi, dahi bhalla, tikki along with a chatni which restaurant claim is good for digestion. Make sure you dont order basket chaat if you are alone as the quantity is too much for a single person to eat and sufficient for a group of 2-3 people.They have a full service restaurant also available where you can go for proper lunch or dinner as well.Overall a good place you can head to after a tiring shopping spree to enjoy some local chaat delicacies.

The food is very tasty and very good. Usually quite some waiting time on weekends. Quality of food is still good, but has depriciated over time.

Tried chat and sweet of Royal cafe.Look like shop is over hyped by you-tubers.- Food quality is average- Price is on higher side.-Excellent market activity by chacha ji- Items preparation very quick means waiting time is almost null- No parking space-Shop is surrounded by market with almost all kind of shops.You can try this shop once or twice just for taste.

We had basket chaat and only curd was fresh. Even basket had weird taste. We had pani puri and it was better. I haven’t tried any full meal but I think I am not going to that place anymore.

Basket chat is one of the famous dishes of this place. Remember it is not easy to eat a full basket chat. It is good for two people. It is also very healthy. You can easily reach here from hazrat ganj metro station. Will try more things here and will update here.

We visited the place at the late hours. This place is stationed in the heart of the city at Hazratganj, just in front of Sahu and has boundaries with the abandoned Capoors hotel. Few steps from the Metro station.You will have to make some additional efforts to park your vehicle as this place does not offer its own parking, be it as it may.Now, the perk of the place, as flamboyants from the social platforms, is the basket chat. However, we took steps to enter the restaurant area which happens to be flooded at times, to be true at every time.Basket has its own class and is worth the price. Inter alia we had the honour to have the main course, pizza along with the Faluda Kulfi.Cost is certainly on the higher side for regular course and Kulfi faluda but that too would not get your pockets snatched. Pretty much worth if you aint going to stress that much.You have ample space once you get the seat. Place is ofc air conditioned and the staff behaviour is also nice. Management is fine at its work. Wait time for order is also optimum. This is pretty much of a family place and as such I would recommend you to visit the place with your family.Enjoy your visit.

The staff was good he immediately get a table for us . Their was so much rush. The chicken fried rice was not fresh i think but the pizza has some exotic flavour that you want to eat more.I also had papdi chat best chat out there.The quality was awesome.

Visited here with friends after waiting for 5mins got my table , we ordered lots of food butter chicken , bread basket , chicken biryani , chicken tandoori and many more approximate food preparation time was 1hr .One old guy is there who took my ordered he was just pushing to order food from his choice . Later on when we asked for food many times got half of my food . When we complained about delay that old guy was literally shouting on us .Food taste was really good but 0 for service.

The prices are on the higher side but they do provide ample quantity of every item. The items were all great overall. The basket chat, which is a speciality of this cafe/restaurant, did not disappoint. One point off for the large crowd and a sort of bad handling of it.

Royal Cafe at Hazratganj is little bit different from the Gomti Nagar restaurant in design and decoration but you will get same menu over here. ambience is great and well clean. Staff is very friendly and always ready to serve you.Sometime you have to wait for your space as it situated crowded place as Hazratganj is always crowded in evening. Order also takes some time, but waiting is good as the quality of the food its great hot and delicious as always.Tried Handi Paneer, Chilli Paneer (Gravy), Veg. Noodles and Handi Dum Biryani. They are simply awesome and sooo delicious in taste the price is bit high but that dosent mater when you get great rich taste and with decent quantity.Outside they serve Aloo Tikki and Pani Batase which are mouth watering. Royal Cafe is simply good in taste and style.Royal Cafe is simply Awseome!

Truly loved this place in Lucknow. Ambience is good.Their basket chat is the best chat we had till day. Sizzler was average but they modified it accordingly. And the mouth watering kesar faluda icecream too is just awesome. Loved eating here.

It’s one of the most famous eating spots in Hazratganj. Chaat of this outlet was delicious. It was very crowded and unclean. I ordered dahi bhalla chaat here. The dish was very tasty and fresh.There is a dine in area as well where one can sit and have food. I guess prices are higher than the prices they charge if you stand outside and eat. The dine in area was air conditioned and staff there was very friendly and attentive. However, the place was stinking and the washrooms were unclean. The look of the restaurant was very old.

Just the brand name. It is famous for chat items but I have not eaten such sweet chat anywhere before. Sweet chatni, sweet curd(with sugarin chats. It’s all waste. Soup is bad.. overall waste of money. Exorbitantly costly.

Must try! Unlike in Kolkata, where the papdi gets soggy immediately, here, at the Royal Cafe, the papdi did not get soggy even after 3.5 hours. Aslo, the curd was good. We tried the popular and famous Basket Chaat and it was completely worth it. Must Visit!!!

Nice place but very expensive. Not suitable for a middle class family. Price of items is beyond it limit. I hear about this cafe a lot but when I get my experience i feel like "unchi dukan feeke pakwan". Only a hype created not actually heart touching its overrated. cuisines are normal.Go there your own risk 🤪

It was an absolute pleasure to come back to this heritage restaurant of Lucknow after a few years.The staff are superbly trained & seat you swiftly & help you order with ease.Food was well prepared & tasted devine. Loved the old Nawabi era chandeliers twinkling while I ate my food.The Kulfi falooda was exceptional.Will highly recommend it to thos who want a taste of the authentic Lucknow.

Its basket chaat is very famous but still it was worst. They put a lot of things into it but do not prepare it well, its like put everything but everything feels isolated and segregated(its like a marriage , which shows off the marriage as a grand party, but actually there is no chemistry between husband and wife<metaphor>). Really not happy and it does not serve 10% to the hype, which it has created. If you still want to buy 230Rs/chaat, do come at your own risk and try to buy only one for upto 3 peoples and if you like you should order more. Only the ambience is good nothing else in this basket chaat.

A must for every tourist to have mouth full on the Chaat. A basket chaat is good enough for two to relish.Plus one or two side dish variety can also be worth taking.

I found this bit overhyped since there are many places which serve equally good chat.Their famous katori chaat is priced at whooping Rs. 230/- if you are eating it while you stand on footpath. They do have a restaurant inside and the same chaat is priced at Rs. 275/- in it.

Just went there to try their most famous basket chat.Obviously a crowded place to go.Basket chaat was really good lots of flavours and colour, pleasure for eyes and taste buds as well.Quantity was also enough atleast for 2 persons if you just want to taste 4-5 person can be full with one.The thing I found not well was its price, ₹230 for one basket chaat is really so over priced, there is alot in Lucknow to taste in so much less price, you can easily skip this one.

Ordered the famous Basket Chaat and Dahi Bhalle, and after tasting it i must say its worth the hype. They provide you worth the money quantity of basket chaat, which i wasnt able to finish myself. Also, the thing is noticed was that theu use desi ghee in the making of tikkis and matar. Its ROYAL CAFE after all!!!

This place is situated near Hazratganj metro station. It is famous for its basket chat . They serve awesome chat, panipur and aloo tikkis. In addition to this they also have a restaurant which serves other food items also. They serve tasty food. Overall good place for vegetarians . This place is so famous for chats in lucknow that even celebrities often visit this place when they are in lucknow for shooting.

Im a bit surprised I never reviewed this place before. Ive been visiting this location on and off for over ten years now and the menu has expanded but the core focus on excellent food and service has not swayed which makes this an easy to recommend place. I enjoy the biryani here very much, and they also make a very nice chicken club sandwich. The tikkas are great too. The chat outside is very good too, the basket chat especially. The dahi kebab is fantastic. The facilities are clean and comfortable. Will continue to visit. Over the years the surrounding area has gotten a bit better too which a bonus.

I really loved the place and the interiors🤩 its like a must visit place on your trip to Lucknow 💕 The staff was also good. I tasted the famous basket chaat and dahi patashas which were so filling.The prices are so low in comparison to the food and ambience the place offers...!!

It is just an assortment of 5-6 items in a single basket. Now, assortment doesnt mean that everything assorted has taste or something out of the world. I personally liked the uncle who serves but when it comes to the Basket chaat. Honestly, theres nothing special taste.
