Privilege
I loved it. Being alone and moving around in nature is the best experience for me..I just loved it ..❤️❤️Check out the facts-👇Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, Melbourne Gardens has been a treasured part of Melbourne’s cultural life for more than 170 years – much loved by generations of Victorians, as well as by many visitors from interstate and overseas. MoreThis was an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. The plant diversaty was great. The layout beautiful. It was neat and clean and everybody was friendly.Thank you!
MoreIf you go to the centre of the park, near the lake, its very quiet and serene. Here in Melbourne, its not easy to find somewhere quiet or to appreciate nature. If you want to go for a proper bush walk, you need to travel at least 800km to get away from the loud and dirty cars. Thankfully, we have the Royal Botanical Gardens.
MoreBeautiful Spot to visit while in the city. Havent been for quite a long time but I remember it was bright and green and peaceful.
MoreVery large gardens only a shot walk from Melbourne CBD. The gardens is all connected via various paths with it moving through a variety of themes. Toilets and drinking fountains were spread out around the park and never felt too far away. Due to the sparse nature of the gardens it was hard to have one path to go and see all of the gardens. Some food stalls are in the park but only proper cafe was at visitor centre.
MoreAbsolutely beautiful. It has been the highlight of my trip to Melbourne. We caught the tram from the city and got off at the Shrine of Remembrance and had a short walk to the garden where we had a coffee before starting to explore. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly and the grounds were immaculate. My camera ran out of power and time absolutely flew. I will be going back tomorrow. Please enjoy some of my photos.
MoreIn my opinion the best Botanical gardens in Victoria.Such a sprawling beautiful layout.Lots of changing sceneryIf you like taking photos with colourful backdrops this is the place for you.My wife is Vietnamese and she loves loves loves taking photos 📸.
MoreMy first visit after completing my taper run for marathon on Sunday was out of this world. I met some lovely speedsters who were getting ready for their taper run. I also popped into the cafe and had a lovely vegan wrap and purchased some lovely gifts from the beautiful giftware shop for my family. Reading the fastest athletes times on the wooden poles was an added bonus.Bumping into Bailey the dog who gave me a kiss was an added bonus during my run.I’ll be back today to absorb the gardens
MoreAn amazing garden with lots of indigenous plants and flowers…! We enjoyed being here and it needs at least 2 hours to visit the park completely
MoreThe Botanic Gardens in Melbourne is one of the most amazing gardens in the world. We spent the day here and wandered around only a small part of it. As someone born and raised in Melbourne, and having walked around our hundreds of times in my life, its still amazing and one will never get sick of looking around. Im sure you wont be disappointed when visiting the gardens and there are so many species of plants here its amazing.
MoreExplorer bus turned out to be a surprise hit. Really cool! Flowers were still blooming, not the most ideal time of the year. Very pretty nevertheless
MoreA gorgeous slice of natural beauty right in the heart of Melbourne.Free to visit and explore to your hearts content. Magnificent views of the city to be found all throughout the gardens.Highlights are Fern Gully, Long Island and the Sensory garden.Whilst walking through the temperate rain forested Fern Gully it is hard to believe you are in the middle of Melbourne. One of my favourite places to walk and explore.
MoreI went here for an event. I went here for lights cape. It was beautiful. Loved it so much. The venue has all the facilities. Got loads of food options and it was absolutely a dream to attend. I went to to earlier sessions to get some good photos and avoid the crowds. I hope it will come back again next year. It’s more stunning with its really dark and everything comes to life.
MoreA beautiful place to have a walk. We like to come here for a morning stroll. Not too far from the city. Come early to secure your parking spot!!
MoreThe lightscape at the Gardens was amazing. Loved all the lights and effects. Would have been good to have benches or seats along the way for older and less able-bodied people to take short breaks
MoreLIGHTSCAPE at the Royal Botanical Gardens was amazing - the displays were breathtaking and vivid, with so much variety. The only drawback was that there were very few places to stop and rest along the way, which makes it difficult for someone with mobility issues to manage the whole thing. We could see the park benches but the paths were cordoned so we couldn’t access them during this event.
MoreAmazing place for plant lovers. Diverse gardens with plenty of information about the plants. All the tracks have signs and it is pretty much flat, so no problems with prams or wheelchairs.
MoreWow. Really well kept, serene gardens. And the toilets were clean too. Bumped into the cleaning staff who were also super friendly. Coffee shops and 7 eleven nearby too, good to grab and drink and stroll around.
MoreAttended Lightscape on Sunday night ..... ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! What an absolutely breathtaking way to spend a winter evening walking through the stunning gardens surrounded by the magic of LIGHTSCAPE.So, so beautiful. I absolutely LOVED IT! Highly recommended.
MoreThe Royal Botanical Gardens is beautiful on a normal, for a good work in a diverse surrounding. The unique and beautiful plants that you can see here are really special. This is a great spot for walking, exercising, having a picnic with friends and family or just relaxing with a book.Currently (July 2022they have an amazing light installation called Lightscape. Its running for 2 months in winter and you book time slots between 5:30-9pm. Entry is $35 for adults, there are discounts for seniors and children. The lights on the trees are really beautiful, I would highly recommend going.
MoreLove the Melbourne Botanical Gardens! Last night went to Lightscape Exhibition with friends and kids. Youngest a girl 9 and oldest a boy 15 and we all had a magnificent time. So many lovely photo opportunities and was fun to be walking around the gardens at night. So many people as it was the last day over the school holidays that was promising no rain 😍
MoreI know that this is already a very popular tourist spot, but I still believe that it is understated on how amazing this park is. The gardens are really pristine and picturesque with a really amazing atmosphere. There were lots of people having picnics and many facilities to enjoy. Theres a kids garden and different themes of gardens. Definitely make this apart of your time if youre visiting melbourne. :)
MoreBeautiful garden located right in the city among tall and highrise buildings. Perfect place to enjoy the sun with family and friends, to do some sport like jogging, or just walk around with nature all around. There is a cafe inside serving food and beverages. I highly recommended this place to be visited at least once 😊
MoreOne of the best parks I have ever seen. Lush green everywhere. Interesting range of plants, scenic views. Absolutely no cost involved, we took sandwiches and fruits with us for kids. Had a lil picnic.
MoreAn absolutely beautiful open space with room to breathe and release the stresses of the week. A family-friendly and pet friendly park with many benches too. Be sure to bring along a good book, lunch, and a hot drink during the wet and cold seasons!!
MoreA beautiful green treasure located in the city. It’s vast and very well maintained garden with a picturesque view. Good for family picnics, Kids friendly and for a stroll. Very calm and relaxing place. There are beautiful lakes and coffee shops inside the garden. Tram stop are also located close-by. The park has multiple entrances. There is also a children garden at the entrance of botanical garden. We absolutely love to visit it. Public toilets are all around the park.
MoreVery beautiful and serene garden. We came in mid May, weather was pleasant, some of the leaves turned red and yellow which was beautiful. My 3.5yo kiddo enjoyed strolling in this park as well.
MoreBeautiful and charming garden for both young and old! I came by here every day for the whole duration I was in Melbourne as I simply couldn’t get enough of it! A visit to this place is a MUST when you are in Melbourne!
MoreIt was one of best garden in MelbourneIt’s close to city and Parking also with very minimal one ☝️ (1$per hour )Thought out the gardensWe can park in around 🪴gardensWe have covered only one side part of the Gardens. So there is so much space walking and joggingI can see the less traffic in morning time.Once your parked vehicle 🚗 you need to keep the parking receipt 🧾 keep it from inside car visible for Ranger. If Ranger comes, first they will look at receipt only so keep in such away.
MoreAbsolutely stunning place to walk around. Its a really nice change of pace from all the chaos in the CBD. There is a lot of space for picnics, relaxing or just having a jog. I went with my mates after visiting the Shrine of Rememberance (Right next to the RBGand didnt expect so spend so much time there. Definitley a must visit place if for people visiting Melbourne.
MoreIts easy to spend overtime than planned. Make sure to leave before the gate closes.Theres no announcement before closing. I got locked in, by the time, my phone was out of battery.Whoever was informing the park was closed was on a truck and went somewhere else right away, so it wasnt much a help.Plan accordingly with plenty of phone battery 🔋 Or go to another park across the road or near by like Alexandra park. Its still nice, yet you dont have to worry the closing time.
MoreSo peaceful in the middle of the city. Its strange but nice. Not many food options inside. But the walks are brilliant, even if youre someone whos not really into nature walks. When the weather is nice, you could spend hours here with a nice book. All thats missing is some good Melbourne coffee shops.
MoreLovely place to walk and experience different trees and plants. Great to spend it with a loved one or your children. Well maintained and clean.
MoreDo yourself a favour and go for a walk through here. Stressed or wanting to get away from the city this is the place for you. So relaxing and peaceful. They had an interactive exhibit you download an app which would be fun for the kids. You can take your pets through there also. Highly recommend.
MoreOne of the best parks (if not the bestparks/garden which Melbourne have to offer. So much happens in this section as well including the tan where locals and tourists soak up in nature while exercising ( especially running). I thought I would have left a review for this garden by now😬. During different season and in different lawns etc they have art performances from live music to drama to circus. The plants they have is very unique and again have changing sections of them as exhibitions. One of the best spot to walk, picnic and soak up in greenery adjacent to Melbourne CBD!
Morea really nice spot to spend time with family & friends. admission is free, and its pretty big. theres so much to see. a lot of people set up picnics, walk their dogs, & take in the sights.
MoreA great spot for a family adventure. If you have small children I can highly recommend the childrens area. There is a beautiful pond and lots of paths and plants to explore. We also loved the herb garden and the forest walk. And the best part all FREE. Bring snacks, lunch for a picnic in the park
MoreSo much to take in, and just a lovely place for a nice quiet walk, surrounded by such a wide variety of vegetation from all around the world!! Amazing to see.
MoreAbsolutely beautiful gardens and immaculately kept. Staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. The man at the infecenter even remembered my name and said hi when he drove by in a buggy hours later. I went on a free tour with Jenny who has so much knowledge about the history of the gardens and plants of all kinds. She has such a lovely warm soul and this really contributed to the quality of the tour. Perfect for families to have a day out with friends and families. Plenty of space to social distance and get some sunshine too!!
MoreBeautiful garden with beautiful native australian plants. Beautiful walking path and spot for a little picnic with family or friends. You can bring your dogs and walk around the garden. Beautiful place to take some photos.Just gorgeous
MoreStunning gardens, very worth a visit while in Melbourne. A beautifully serene idyll so close to the CBD, perfect for a chance to relax. Very well maintained pathways are very accessible, perfect for a walk for anyone. Provides plenty of peaceful spots to stop for a picnic or to sit on a bench and read a book. A must see.
MoreVery nice garden overall. It has a bit of everything. If you are short on time I particularly recommend the southern part, gates E, F, D and places like Furn gully, Guilfoyle’s volcano,Arid garden etc.
MoreAn absolutely beautiful and massive botanical garden that is well maintained by staff, signs and maps everywhere to tell you where you are or where you can go, a huge picnic area that is very capable of accommodating a few friends or a quiet space to read a book. The gift shop and cafe staff are super friendly and professional, easy spot for a quick snack or souvenir
MoreThis place is probably timeless. Free entry to paradise for plant/flower/tree lovers. Pond view seats too. Lol.The garden is one of the best among the world. Peaceful and beautiful.
MoreI love the plants and the layout of this botanical garden. Very interesting and pretty to look at. Perfect place for a relaxing stroll in the city. Just make sure you dont come here in bad weather.
MoreHuge, beautiful garden spaces with lots of variety and info boards to let you know what you’re looking at. Has multiple entrances and is a lovely scenic getaway from the urban hustle. Definitely worth visiting if in Melbourne — the whole place is well maintained and could take hours to get through. Wonderful location.
MoreWhile you’re visiting Melbourne you can’t miss a stop to these fantastic gardens; they’re very well looked after and relaxing. You can admire many botanic species and this makes it interesting too.
MoreThis place is still a wonderland to me. Ive been here a few times and still find new places that Ive never come across.Family-friendly and you can enjoy a nice picnic. Its one of those places that I havent been to as much as I shouldve simply "because its in my own backyard" so to speak. On a nice, sunny day, this place would be great to walk your dog or just laze about on the grass reading your favourite book, while eating sundried tomatoes and cheese from QVM.Nothing short of a spectacular walk. Enjoy the ferns and the three rocks with the water fountain in the middle of them. Majestic.
MoreGorgeous place. Cleverly constructed, accommodating miles of secluded alleys and paths on a relatively small patch of land. Beautiful lakes and herbs garden. I December linden trees are blossoming and the whole place smells divine.Best visited closer to closing time after work. Not crowded, lots of birds feeling safer and behaving freely. If you have pollen allergies take precautions, too many exotic blossoms might cause you worries.
MorePeaceful walk through the gardens. Came on a Saturday afternoon - note places like the shrine of remembrance and visitor centre close at 5pm. Otherwise beautiful gardens, lot of picnickers, some areas like the Australian forest walk felt like you were being transported somewhere else. Very well maintained. Spent 3 hours walking around but even a short or long walk would be enjoyable. A lot of bathrooms, mostly paved paths and lots of places to sit in shade and enjoy the view.
