Round Up Saloon in Vallejo

It was my first time exploring this venue. Id driven by several times and was curious about it. I really wanted to like it. Believe me, I never want to see an establishment falter. I was very taken aback by the strong odor that hit me when I entered. I couldnt get past that. I anticipated an older saloon and wanted to enjoy that charm. If the (bathroom/wet ragodor could be resolved, youll have another regular down the line.

A local establishment with legend status. I remember going to the roundup when I was under twenty one and that would have been forty some years ago. I’ve come and gone from this place over my time in the east bay but if you want a really cold brew at a reasonable price and with a mighty homegrown atmosphere, then this is the place for you.

This is a pretty good dive bar but only takes cash.Theres a cash machine with big fees, so take cash or pay fees

Charlie and Crew are Super Awesome....Super Chill Place...They always remember your name....and pour you the drink you always order before you sit down...Dunno how they remember...but they do....

"PTKtheBand" had a great time as always at The Roundup Saloon in downtown Lafayette! The crowd packed the dance floor all night. And, the "cool" staff is really friendly. Thanks again Karen for the booking!

Friendly staff. A little cold inside. They were out of a couple of basics, but other than that, it was a nice visit.

Not a bad neighborhood bar, but seems a little out of place on this main street. Patrons are local, staff friendliness is sparse, not blatantly rude but not welcoming either.

If you want to party Wednesday (college nightand Saturday (karaoke Night, also Wednesdayare the nights to go. Friday nights are live music and can be fun. Other than those nights its just a chill bar to hang out with friends, play pool and shuffleboard and other games. Still, those first 2 nights I mentioned make this place 5 stars alone.

It’s a classic dive bar for the Lamorinda area. Nothin can top it if you’re just looking for a beer, some pool, friendly (and most likely buzzedpeople both young and old. They have karaoke certain nights and live music others. The new fenced in back area that was a result of all the new regulations is actually a great use of space and one of my favorite parts about it now when the weather’s nice.

What youd expect of a dive, but the band was so good, they moved up a star.

What’s going in the men’s bathroom? It is a disgusting smell coming out of there that goes around that area. I couldn’t drink my beer. There is nice blonde bartender being tortured by the smell. Why don’t they buy a ceiling fan for the b/r? Stay away from this bar. It is disgusting!

Super fun dive bar! We had a blast.

I really enjoying this bar but Rich is super aggressive and uses national hate slurs! Today was the halloween party! I was dancing with a prop, Rich cut in front of me and I accidentally hit him with the prop. I apologized, however, he viciously grabbed and pushed me across the room! I can now no longer go back!! It seems to me that his behavior towards women is different than that towards men. This is not the first time this man has used excessive physicality towards women.

Love their outdoor area in the back for small parties or dinners, drinks, etc. Casual. Fun atmosphere. Downtown Livermore.

Was a fun dive bar, with a great back area.

We always have fun at the roundup when we stop by for a drink or karaoke or pool and shuffleboard. This clamper bar has been around since longer before I turned 21 and theyre a great part of downtown Lafayette. Between service at the bar and several tables, theres plenty of indoor seating, and their new-ish patio out back is great also and has a variety of tables and styles of chairs. Staff is wonderful and its a positive and fun crowd most nights and afternoons.

Cash only. Live music. Best part is the seating area in the back thats outside.

If you are looking for seediness and a good time out, this is the place. Its hard to find a place like this. But its what you need.

Decent local dive where East Bay suburbanites mingle with St. Marys coeds. Cheap drinks, live music or karaoke, pool and an awesome retro shuffleboard table.

5 stars for the dive bar atmosphere we were looking for while in town, cash only, a perfect mix of dust and spider webs. Overall though only 3 stars because of the unexpectedly pricey drinks that dont match the dive bar atmosphere we craved.

Warm beer time after time. Bathrooms are positioned horribly, and are filthy. A good atmosphere.

The round up is a little slice of pie in Lafayette. Nothing special nothin sweet but a comfortable stop in between the good the bad and the ugly

The only place in town. The center of the universe. Imbibers native and invasive alike all know the name Round Up Saloon. You have no choice, and at the end of the night you realize thats what makes it a special place. 5 stars.

Good dive bar to hang out at. They have a couple pool tables and a shuffle board. Come on, how many places can you play shuffle board now a days. Great place to hang out. I can only give it a three because they only take cash. I dont carry cash anywhere. Id like to see them take a credit card. Last time I went in I forgot they didnt take credit cards and left, went next door to Cooperage and gave them my business.

Pretty cool. Ecceclectic crowd relaxed atmosphere and pleasant bartenders. I didnt see any cocktails servers that night.There was a pretty decent band that night which always livens things up. I would go again.Just remember it is RUSTIC and thats its charm. Makes me want to ride my horse up to the bar for a whisky!

Im rating the bathroom. As well as the beer selection. Never expect much from a dive bar but I expect a little more from a dive bar in the heart of lafayette. Theres shuffle board and two pool tables. Thats its redemption. But seriously...clean the bathrooms.

Your basic dive bar. I think this is the only bar in the area so a lot of the locals end up here. Note, they only accept cash, but theres an ATM inside.

Great little bar my friends band plays here a lot. Really good atmosphere lots of dancing area fresh air. You can step out back for a break and come back in really nice great sound system and I love the wood ceiling and and stuff

Been going here since college and always had fun with signing and playing shuffleboard. This is a smaller college dive bar and when busy can take a bit to get a drink when its busy although I have noticed the college crowd has died down quite a bit in the past couple years

Fun saloon. Say a great band there..Site 6 that had the place rocking. Last time there satchmos Ghost was a blast with their swinging, rocking blues band.

Rough little saloon. Cash only (ATM on-site). Locals mostly. No food. Easy to imagine as a western saloon. Fun. Pool tables. Always people here.

This Is an almost 90 years old dive bar in the heart of Lafayette Ca, and because of regulars like myself have keep this place a safe and friendly spot , we do not allow any agresive or unpolite activities in the bar this is not a place to pickup ladies, everyone is known and protected. My buddies as security personnel are friendly and effective , Lafayette Police is always around and ready to take down any agresive visitors. You are always welcome to have a drink and a good time here.

Typical dive bar that does it all right. Has a couple of pool tables. Great mixed drinks and a decent beer selection. Place can get busy on Friday and Saturday nights with a very diverse and fun crowd. Karaoke nights can be fun there.

Great vibes for a local bar! Live music on Thursday nights. Quite a variety of people and ages. Fun. No food. Drinks are adequate and not too expensive

Interesting mix of local regulars and SMC students that didnt make it to Walnut Creek. Definitely a dive, but its a fun place to play some pool or shuffleboard.

Only dedicated bar in the entire Lamorinda area. Been around since the days of yore and history eeks from its pores. Its a total dive on the fence of going either "fun" or "scary" depending on who is there drinking that night. Ive gone for karaoke and had a helluva time with friends. Ive also gone and seen a 70 year old woman steal a bar stool from a guy and then tried to fight him over it because he was laughing to his friends about it. What a crowd. I recommend it highly, but it aint for everyone.

Welcoming venue, great bar and excellent band - Other Peoples Money - cant wait to see them at the Roundup again!!
