Just moved back to Beaumont and this place still hits!..

Pork Roast with rice greens, yams ,& corn bread

My first time in this place and it wasnt what I expected from looking at the reviews. I ordered the oxtails with rice, collard greens, okra & tomatoes. The entire meal was way too salty for my taste and overcooked. More of a mushy texture like baby food. Oxtails had a lot of fat on them but tender and the rice was sticky/clumpy. In my opinion, I believe some days you just dont know what youre going to get. Its a hit or miss. Staff was courteous and hospitality was good, but food needs improvement. Just my opinion ya"ll

First expression ...Dirty tables- Tacky enviorment. Too much garlic powder on everything and the food was over cooked...sorry pass. Never again!

Unbelievable food! Stopped in for the first time and was greeted with a big smile. The confidence in their food was demonstrated through the employees serving the food. And there was no disappointment whatsoever. My wife had the pork roast with rice and I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. EVERY bite was remarkable! Do your taste buds a favor...Visit Rosies Soul Food!!

Good food and good service. It was my first time. Will go back when in the area. Some the sides reminded me of my grandmother cooking when I was younger.

I had the meatloaf with mash potatoes the meatloaf was good but the mash potatoes was to liquidity and my husband had the oxtails and gravy rice was tender but the gravy was to white...dont know what happened they food use to be really good just that day it wasnt...

We ordered the pigs feet, ox tail, red beans, collard greens, okra and banana pudding and it was all excellent. The feet and tails in particular were fall off the bone, collagen rich, deliciousness.

Always the best. Fresh home cooking daily. EVERYTHING IS 👍 GOOD!!! Same menu, same folks FOR YEARS and we love it! A+++++++

Rosies meatloaf and greens were the best Ive ever had. The green beans were so tasty that I probably couldve eaten a bucketful, but my manners got the better of me. Love it and Ill definitely be back.

Good food. Way overpriced. My first time to try oxtails. Tasted really good, but didnt know mostly fat on bones. What meat there was tasted really good though. Sweet potatoes were great.

Their food is always fresh and delicious. Friendly staff with inviting atmosphere. I love their meatloaf. In my opinion, better than Richards hands down. Very consistent and guaranteed goodness😋

Home style Soul Food at its Finest! A-1, Rosies!! Phenomenal. I had the Smothered Pork Chops, Candied Yams, and Okra n Tomatoes, With a slab of Dark Chocolate Cake. Only complaint? Cake WAS just a LIIIITTLE BIT dry. But everything, and everyone, else was STELLAR. Highly recommend to all and sundry. And ...that GRAVY?? Man! Havent had the like in years a plenty...since my Gran died, Ive not had such fine, down home good food. And the GRAVY!?...shhhh...!! Now! Dont say this loud, cuz shell roll right over in that Casket...but (I do love n miss you SO, Gran! Oh man I do!!But .... Rosies is better than my Grans was. Omg it was rich, smooth, and creamy without one HINT of lump, and no taste of too much CornStarch as a trick either!! PERFECTION IN ALL CATEGORIES. Only thing...Id sink a tad more capital into interiors and decor...but...if youre looking for good a**food and not worried about good a**table arranging and such...? Knocked it out tha PARK Rosies... Firing on all cylinders, yall!! Superb.

I was there on a Sunday after church, never been there before. When we walked in, I was happy to see clean and spacious dining room. Very clean with adequate so Ill distancing, everyone wore mask. Servers were courteous and helpful. There were several down home meats, Ox tails, Turkey wings and meat loaf, I had the turkey wings over rice, greens, cabbage and cornbread. Wings had good flavor meat was a little dry. Cabbage was spot-on, greens just average but good. Cornbread was light and delicious. Id give it a 3 1/2 stars. I plan to return and try other items on the menu.

Came from Houston and wanted soul food my cuz took me here ,FOOD WAS DELICIOUS AND STAFF WAS WONDERFUL

Eaten there twice; extremely over salted food, so that its about all you can taste. They do give very generous portions, Ill say that...you get plenty of food for what you pay, so no complaints there. Think Ill stick with Richards though, food isnt as heavily salted.

I go here at least once a week they are very polite and I enjoyed their food. Even though they aint had my turkey wings in a few days. Great service

Yesterday was my first time going to Rosies. The oxtails, candied yams, cabbage and white rice was good! The place was very clean too and that plays a very big part.

I read the reviews and after going there I realized many people dont know what real soul food should taste like....No this food was not good I didnt even finish it....Peas and greens tasted like canned ones smothered pork chop baked with drippings as gravy...not good at all and guy didnt have gloves on when serving which I should have left then .

Good prices. A lot of the dishes are a little salty for my taste, but then again, its soul-food. I love the meatloaf over rice and gravy. Oh-My!

I order the beef tips over rice and gravy with cornbread every time. It reminds me so much of my mother’s cooking I could almost cry every time I eat here. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. I love Rosie’s!

I have never had soul food in a restaurant before and for my first time, i fell in love! It tasted just how grandma would make her food! Straight southern home cooked meals, im all for it! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a comfortable place to sit and eat and get full. Prices are reasonable with a big portion of food.

The food is out of this world. Best ox tails ever with the freshest everything. Very beutiful old school building with super clean restrooms. Made me feel like i was eating my mothers dining room. Thank you for a most awsome great eats experience. I 100% recommend Rosies.

Very friendly people. The cornbread is really delicious. As were the lima beans and okra and tomatoes. The meatloaf is decent. Could use a little more flavor and thought it was strange to be served over rice.

I was trying to think if a place to get some thing to eat and I called a friend of mine & she recommended Rosies Soul Food & now I go there quite frequently. The ox tails are very delicious. The ox tails are the only meat that I have eaten.

Was the Best service weve had in a long time. The two gentlemen working were Outstanding. The the oxtails with rice, with brown gravy, mashed potatoes, cornbread and cabbage were on Point. The pork chops with brown gravy, rice, with the greens, and the black-eyed peas were also Great. Keep doing what youre doing...... Rosie.....

The food is all right! I had oxtails with okra, cabbage, cornbread with banana pudding.The only thing I can say about them. I wish the food was seasoned a little better. The 🍌 banana pudding was fine. Good service manners.

Passing through to get to Houston. Stopped for lunch. All I can say is WOW! YUM! Great choice of home cooking soul food, just like my grandma used to make. I had the beef tips over rice (the tips were tender and the gravy was spot onDad had the smothered meatloaf (closed my eyes and I could see my grandmas cooking it). The food was so worth the detour but what made lunch even better was the service. The server/cook/cashier was super sweet and genuine! If youre looking for some special home cooked soul food then get yourself to Rosies!

We arrived as they opened at 11am. Our choices were Ox Tails, Beef Tips, Smothered Pork Chop, and Pigs Feet along with two sides and a drink for each. The food was highly seasoned, slightly salty, and well cooked. The portions were very good, more than we could eat. There was not a lot of color in the choices of sides, but they were also good. I was a little disappointed when I saw the store-bought desserts being brought in, so we passed on those. Our bill totalled $53, which is about standard for a restaurant meal for 4.

So this place doesnt stick out at you but its really worth the visit. We went right before church ended and it got very busy. The prices are very reasonable for what you get. The food does touch your soul, bring a big appetite too!

Excellent southern "soul" food. If you like smothered pork chops, beef tips, meatloaf, etc... This is your place. Large plates at a reasonable price. Staff is always friendly.

Great home cooked food and very friendly service

I bought a Southeast Texas eats coupon booklet. When we got to the register the friendly young lady was unable to accept the coupon. I paid full price , so I earned the right to be honest about the food. The beef tips had little flavor, very plain. The greens were strange..frozen and no seasoning. The butter beans, pretty good, but could be better. The turkey wings were better, but still could be better. The ultra sweet cornbread is not southern. The peach cobbler was probably good when fresh and warm. The pecan pie was downright nasty! We were sadly disappointed. I should have spent my money 2 blocks East where its all good!!

Awesome selection,always fresh and plentiful. 8-6-17 Todays trip to Rosie was horrible. Although my oxtails were right on time as always, My wifes experience was freaking awful. I ordered my meal and her burger at the same time 1:19 she finally got the burger at 1:47 29 minutes later, of course I was done. More insulting not only was it not made right it wasnt done nor did it have cheese like I ordered. Smothered in onions which I didnt want. She wont be eating there ever again.

Ate lunch with a friend. Prices are average 7-10; portions large, but not huge; staff very friendly. Mac & cheese isnt great, but also not too bad. Overall, not a bad place. Needs some updating inside (outside looks very nice), but what good hole-in-the-wall doesnt need some updating?

Wow! What a roadside find in Beaumont, TX. Dont let the sparse dining room or cafeteria style food line deter you. Chef cooked us up the fried chicken to order. Gave us a tastes of oxtail and pork-loin while we waited. Plentiful sides - greens, okra, mac and cheese, yams and rice with drippings. Sometimes you lose when taking off-the-beaten-path chances... this one was a winner.

Saw this place online decide to give it a try.Very good food, large portions, great prices.Friendly people. Exactly what I like in a soul food kitchen, nothing fancy, just real good food. I had smothered pork chops definitely recommend that. I will be returning!

My family and I went here on my Birthday. We also recently ate here again. The people are nice, and they take pride in their food. The restaurant is always clean. The portions are HUGE! So far, Ive tried the meatloaf, pork chops, oxtail, pigtail, and pig feet. Good service, clean restaurant, great food. I cant wait to go back.
