Rosemont in Montrose
Description
Privilege
Hands down one of my favorite places to enjoy a French 75 🙌 great rooftop bar and a must try for anyone who loves socializing and cocktails. It is never too busy and the restrooms are really nice and clean. Valet parking offered
MoreEnjoyable environment with a handful of signature drinks. Definitely make sure to try the Bubblebath drink for fun. Great for people watching and catching up with friends over the weekend or happy hour.
MoreCozy little bar with a great atmosphere. The bartender made us feel right at home, and had a good laugh with us. 10/10 would come here again. Perfect for a cold night, because there are plenty of heaters in the outdoor areas.
MoreMichael and Tyler were very kind . I don’t often go to Rosemont but they have a fantastic drink selection and great environment and after a particularly rough night with friends Michael and a Tyler were very kind and understanding and helped my friend locate her lost purse. I wish I could do more than just leave a simple review because they deserve credit for being so kind ! Also definitely get the s’mores shots they were fantastic!
MoreWent here for a reception after a conference so my review is based on more of an event that took place here. That being said, the venue was really cool. Great cocktails made right in a really cool setting. Food was super good but I think in this case it was being brought up from the fancy sushi restaurant downstairs. At one point one of the bartenders started breathing fire and people toasted marshmallows. Crazy good night. Would for sure go back again to see what its like on an average evening.
MoreThe DJ was the worst!! Really?! 80s and tv show music on a Saturday night? Drinks were decent but we paid for a section and by the time they got our table set up no one wanted drinks.
MoreThis place is definitely not for the grown and sexy. They would have a much better crowd. We were here for a birthday party and some little guy said people in our party were asked to remove their hats and take them to the car. We had already been there for 2 hours. WTF! If there is a no cap/hat policy, then why did the bouncer checking IDs allow them in, not to mention that the little bartender had his cap on all night.
MoreThis is the coolest place! Atmosphere? Perfect for a night out or a meet and greet. Drink prices are expected for the area. DJ was good. Id definitely recommend this spot
MoreVERY CUTE ROOFTOP SITUATION!!!!! Nice happy hour prices, ill definitely return!!
The DJ told me he was instructed by the owner not to play any rap including Carbi B or any other black rappers. He automatically assumed I wanted to hear rap. My response was.... well that’s generalizing. So I’m not going back EVER!
MoreI went here once after Uchi Happy Hour, around 8/8:30ish, with a few friends and really enjoyed it for the casual, laid-back vibes we experienced then. We thought the juice pouch drinks were really fun. It was a chill place to hang out. However, we attempted to go again a few weeks later for some cocktails after my friend’s birthday dinner (a little later, maybe around 9:30and were turned away at the door due to dress code. My friend, who is 6 feet tall, was told that her shorts were too short. I found that to be really off-putting. First of all, she’s REALLY tall, so that’s just how shorts look on her. And it’s June in Houston, definitely reasonable to be wearing shorts. Second, it just seemed like the guy at the door was a bit out of touch - it’s 2019, why is that still something anyone would say? It’s not a middle school. I didn’t see anything posted about the dress code by the door and I can’t find anything on their website either, so I have no idea what their specific rule is about what the measurements of women’s shorts should be, but it just seemed like an arbitrary and tacky thing to not let us in for. The first time we went, I was wearing shorts too, but I’m 5’2” so they probably just didn’t LOOK the same as shorts on my friend. Not that that should even matter in the first place! 🙄 Disappointed and this place has definitely lost my business as well as my friends’.
MoreThere arent many rooftop bar in Houston, so I love that Rosemont had one and is so close to my home! Great drinks and music also make for this a perfect spot to go out with friends.
MoreThe roof top is cool. Ive been going here for a few years and the atmosphere has changed some. I enjoyed the more laid back and I could bring a date for drinks and food. I felt it was more of a hind way and now it dosent. Not a bad thing, just I prefer it was before.
MoreLOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Even when it is busy the line goes by quickly. The drinks are served fast and the DJ on Sundays is great! I celebrated my 30th birthday here and had a blast!
MoreIt is a nice surprise to discover this top roof bar. It is a little bit of a problem if it rains. The price of drinks is reasonable. Parking is limited and using the valet is recommended, if not using a taxi or Uber or Lyft.
MoreDJ was good, heaters kept us warm outside. Comfortable furniture. Drinks were good. Nice rooftop lounge for after dinner drinks with friends.
MoreLike this place as always. Great atmosphere, good servers. One part missing is when we left late and the valet guy gave us our car key, we found out our car was left unlocked the whole time.
MoreService was very slow and seemed directed towards me but the owners response below would indicate otherwise.Edited for owners response and to soften the review - So the silver lining is hopefully that youre getting busier and can staff better? Hopefully not a one time fluke because the venue is nice.
MoreAttempted to host surprise birthday party here, with their Mixologist. The first indication was the email response times average of 7+ days. Jo was a complete nightmare to work with. $55 for 2 drinks. It was understood there were going to be 2 drinks. One would expect the drinks to be of some skill level. An Old Fashioned, if you can believe that. (Bitters and bourbon, ground breaking). When asked if they had a full bar I was berated via text and told it was “not germane”. (Ha. Hold on to your ten buck word Jo, this will be useful when your taking orders at the drive-thru at Whataburger.Jo decides to cancel the booking... good riddance. We changed to a reputable venue for a successful evening. Steer clear, too many good places in Houston to put up with snotty incompetence.
MoreI really enjoyed this place. The bartender was quick and nice, and the place is really well kept. They had huge heaters to keep the outdoor patio warm. Also, they have complimentary valet, which is nice in this sometimes congested area. The valet drivers were very efficient and kind (bring a few dollars to tip :)I was impressed, and will definently be back!
MoreI can only make it on the weekdays but everytime I come I have a blast! Great bartenders. Great Vibes. Drinks are yummy! Always leaving with a smile! Recommended!
MoreExcellent cocktails, friendly staff, tasty apps, great atmosphere being on a semi covered roof deck. We dont smoke and were able to find a spot where it didnt bother us, but it might not be for you if you have zero tolerance for cigarettes.
MoreNice atmosphere we weren’t there for long our friends had already left when we first got there. The bartender was very friendly the only reason I didn’t give the last star was because I slipped 3 times not sure if it was just the type of floor but no where else I had that problem.
MoreThis is my kind of spot. Out of the way, no clear signage, and not slammed on a Friday night...a speakeasy, of sorts. They played great old-school jazz and made really great cocktails. As a fan of whiskey, I went with the Penicillin, which was amazing.
MoreThis is a strange bar that seems to be confused about its identity and has very slow service. On one hand, there’s a moderately sized cocktail menu with ingredient heavy recipes. On the other hand, they have Jell-O shots, and only two bartenders. Now don’t get me wrong, I have no issue with Jell-O shots. I actually bought ten of them, to supplement my regular drink order, because it took so incredibly long to get my drink that I wasn’t about to wait in that line a second time. I do not blame the bartenders for this. They were doing their best, they were just set up to fail. The bar doesn’t function like a regular bar where people spread about the entirety of the bar to order drinks; the ordering stations are condensed to 3 spots, so there are 3 single file lines essentially. To service those 3 ordering windows, there were only 2 bartenders. Complicating this manpower issue is the menu / drink offerings. I watched the frantic bartenders continue to make cocktails with 4-6 ingredients (plus shaking, straining, and garnishingwhile the line grew at each ordering window. I’m just so very confused why they offer these cocktails and display a wide array of bourbon above the bar, but then understaff the bar and offer things like Jell-O shots, frosé, and chambongs. Just so we’re on the same page, those last two items are frozen rosé and tiny bongs for champagne. Now, you may be thinking I was at the bar at peak time and that’s why I had such a hard time getting a drink and got overly annoyed at everything, but I was here before 10pm on Saturday. The bar was definitely not crowded yet... multiple tables were open, and when I got in line at the bar window, I was only the 4th or 5th person in line. But because of the menu / shortage on staff, it took me 25 minutes to get 4 beers (and 10 Jell-O shots). When I ordered this, the bartender actually thanked me for “having a simple order”. What a mess. My group left as soon as we could down our first beers. This place just seems like a 23 year old wanted to make their first bar and tried to smash a cocktail bar together with a Vegas pool bar, and did everything that came to mind including using the word boujee on the menu, having sports on TVs, making a dance floor, and serving everything from banana daiquiris to meatballs to Dom Perignon.
MoreIm currently doing a blog/review on happy hours in Houston and the next stop on my list was the Rosemont. When I arrived, I went to the bar, asked the blond bartender can I take a menu, she said yes and sat back at my table. That was over 13 mins ago (Im looking at the clock). This entire time, she never came to my table, asked did I want anything, didnt even make eye contact with me...yet, she is chatting with some man that is sitting at the bar. I made eye contact with her and waved my hand, yet she ignored me and is continuing to chat with this man and the other 3 or 4 ladies at the other end of the bar. I guess I will go somewhere else where I will at least get acknowledged or get service #Pass
MoreGreat atmosphere! Great drinks! Great music!
Service was bad had a party reservation with bottle service and no waiters. We had to constantly keep going for sprits. Had to wait at the bar for over 30 min or more to get our drinks ordered and thats with an empty bar I wonder how it would be if it was packet. Very bad service wont go back. This was a group of over 20 people with 2 bottles & no service.
MoreWasnt very crowded and had enough space for everyone. Had comfortable seating. Bartenders were nice. I am giving it 4 stars for the atmosphere really. Had valet parking too so that was a plus. I would come again for sure.
MoreExcellent space, loved the decor & atmosphere. It wasnt an overly lively night, but our group was about 20-30 people - we helped fill up the space! The staff was great, very accommodating. The drinks were extremely well priced. Thanks to Jo for being patient with all the communication & getting our group set up. I can see this place getting really busy on a warmer night & has a unique offering with their cabana style lounge. I look forward to visiting again.
MoreHad a co-ed bachelor and bachelorette party here and it was a really great experience. Before the event I communicated with Jo who was really helpful in the process. Before the event the bf and I checked out the space and I was able to let Jo know which Cabana and space I wanted. We pre-ordered some food and the staff delivered on time. We also had a really great waitress taking and delivering drink orders to our guests, which made it really easy. Everything ran smooth and my guests pointed out how nice the place was and that they loved the drinks and food. Jo even messaged the next day to make sure everything went well. Would love to host another event here.
MoreI almost want to not rate this because I want to keep it a secret spot just for me. The rooftop bar is amazing and the atmosphere was cool and relaxing. The bartenders were very helpful and were having a good time. Drinks cant be beat. Get an adult Capri Sun ;)
MoreJo the manager was sooo helpful!!! We were looking for a nice place during the weekday to plan a proposal and rosemont was the perfect spot! It is a rooftop bar and the setting was great. It was more helpful that Jo communicated with us the entire time to make this happen. There is a variety of finger foods and alcohol to choose from as well!!
More*psssst* Dont tell any one about this freaking perfect GEM hiding in Montrose. This place is dripping with cool. It has a great Vegas style roof top lounge, complete was cabana picturesque scenes and a great view. Oh did I mention complimentary valet and that the place is tre affordable?!??! They had a banging happy hour with good food and Benjamin behind the bar made me feel so welcome for it being my 1st time. He whipped up a solid Old Fashioned and really made me and my group feel well taken care of. There were some Instagram models taking selfies with their " Chambongs" [ google it] so dont be surprised if this place starts getting packed. I recommend going mid week for HH. Seriously though * Affordable * Nice * Excellent Service *Central * QUALI-TAY!
MoreThe vibe and outdoor seating is wonderful, but the bartender made the worst old fashioned I have ever had. I am not typically on to complain, but this drink was drowned in bitters. Guess that is my fault for not approaching the bartender, and having another made. I see myself going to other bars in the future.
MoreThe vibe there was not divided, especially for a 1st & last time comer. No greeter, so the environment was far from welcoming. Me and my wife had to manually ask for a menu & this silent chunky female waitress was being very disrespectful. She worked as if we shouldve been there. I just ordered an appetizer & left. The valet drivers were the only ones with customer service.
MoreThis is on of my favorite spots in Houston. Great bartenders, drinks, and environment. Chef prepares delicious bar bites as well. Happy Hour until 8 Tues-Friday.
MoreI was at Rosemont for my first time last night with a birthday party. My first impression of it was that it was a nice lounge, but it was hot. I liked that it was a mixed crowd: there were gentlemen in suits from the UK, Asian businessmen, Latinos, African Americans, women with hijabs, prostitutes with fake booties, etc. The party met the drink quota, by the way; I think yall should know this before I go further. Some of the party went to the bar to order drinks, thinking we would get quicker service. (Wrong! We were seemingly overlooked at the bar numerous times, though I tipped well when we ordered from there previously. I and another member of the party went back to our section to wait for our waitress when another member of the party was put out of the bar behind her breasts being too revealing. But my wife had on an outfit that was very revealing and wasnt asked to leave.l Maybe it was her $1000 shoes. Or maybe it was my shoes -- that cost more than the suits of the businessmen from the U.K.who looked like they had been drinking since they got off at 3:00pm? I dont know why we were not singled out to leave when my wife was very revealing. Maybe it was my white privilege??? Seems like it may be. And when one of the party-goers left a review on their Facebook page, the white-trash owner could only respond about the reviewers grammar. Hey, Rosemont Owner, how is my grammar?? Nothing to say, huh? The owner was rude and wanted our group to leave because a wedding party was coming in. By the way, our group was mostly lesbians and a mixed group. It seems like Rosemont targets a particular market. Hope the same thing doesnt happen to them as Gaslamp. Again, Owner of Rosemont, how is my grammar????
MoreBeing someone that has been here several time in the past Ill have to say to this day (even though I dont go because workI love this place! Management owners and staff are all amazing people! Never had an issue. Drinks are def NOT watered down. Only water down if you babysit it obviously! Drinks and food on point as always! Garlic park fries are LIFE!!!! Keep it up Rosemont team! Love and miss yall dearly! Carson you know what youre doing! The bad reviews are over exaggerated to the fullest! Establishment is comfortable for everyones! Keep doing what your doing!
MoreTrendy and chill place to lounge and have drinks. They have lots of rooftop seating. And a few indoor seating . Great music as wellWe celebrated a friends wedding after party there and it was a blast.
MoreThe bar was out of many beers, white or chardonnay wine on a Saturday night by 10pm someone didnt stock properly. The service was very slow when the place was only half full. Sent g/f to bar to see if that made any difference. Nope, bartender ignored her too, and she was the only person ordering. Cant imagine what its like when its busy.
MoreThis place has such a chill/romantic vibe. I went on a Thursday night around 8pm with a group of about 10 people and We pretty much has the place to ourselves beside 5 or 6 other people. Great vibes, nice bartender, and valet parking. I would go back for sure!
MoreSuch a chill outdoor spot with a good happy hour menu
Absolutely beautiful rooftop area. I am in love with coming here since it is so laid back with a modern look. The drinks are fun and prepared meticulously by the bartenders.
MoreGood music on Saturday nights, bar tenders put in some effort making your cocktails , but the lines at the bars are way too long. Most the place is out of in the open on the second floor roof top, so its great in a Houston winter, not sure about the summers though.
MoreAn elegant and swanky rooftop bar with an exquisite menu of craft cocktails.Cute cabana set up to spend your lovely evenings with Drinks and DJ. This place is quite popular in the area and gets teeming with the evening so if you want your desired patio spot you need to come in early. The staff could however work a tad bit on their service and reception. It might be difficult to locate it being stationed between two other restaurants, they offer valet parking.
MoreI have been here several times and always enjoy myself. Last night, my boyfriend joined me for the first time, and he also really liked the place. The rooftop is beautiful with plenty of seating, lounge areas and tables. It was pretty slow but it was only 6:30 pm on a Tuesday. The happy hour menu is small but at least they have one, some good prices too. The most impressive part of our evening, was the bartender actually knew the recipe to, and was excited about, my boyfriends cocktail order. This typically confuses bartenders and we end up having to explain the recipe to them. However, the bartenders here are quite knowledgeable and very friendly. They were explaining to us that on the weekend nights the place livens up a lot with music and dancing. We will return!
MoreSuper chill spot. They have a down stairs and upstairs, The upstairs is both indoor and outdoor patio with cabanas and comfy couches to lounge on. The drinks are not that expensive either and the have the best cocktails. The bartenders are very good at making them.
MoreThis is usually my Sunday hangout after brunch. They have great drinks and a really cute set up. It was great when they had the DJ on Sundays but since they no longer have the DJ, its not as crowded. This is definitely a place you can go to if you just want to have drinks with a date.
MoreWhat an awesome patio!! I have had the chance to check this place out 3 different times and had a good experience each time. The patio is awesome on a nice night! Fun to hear the sounds on Westheimer while sipping on a delicious cocktail. Since Rosemont has such an awesome patio, it can get quite crowded on the weekends. I suggest, if youre coming here for an event, to call and make a reservation for a patio/lounge area. This past Saturday night it looked like there were 4 different birthday parties going on which made for a packed house! The drinks here are sooo good! I have tried too many of them! My favorite is the Violet Hour (tequila, lemon, cucumber).. theres also a strawberry cocktail that is very good too! The bartenders are pretty knowledgeable and were able to explain the drinks to me as well... so this was an added plus! They have food here as well, smalls plates to share like flat bread pizzas and sliders. This place is classy, so I would take that into consideration as you are getting dressed for the night! :Also, added benefit is that they have FREE valet parking, just let the valet know youre going to Rosemont! My only complaint here is that the service was pretty slow if you sit out on the patio - youre better off going up to the bar and getting your drinks rather than waiting for someone to come by your table!
