Rose Museum - Museum in Sliven, Bulgaria
We found this museum to be only okay, and it took a maximum of 30 minutes. There’s nothing to interact with, what is there is clean and nicely presented. I only just realised there’s another Rose Museum in town and this might just be the better located one.
Super OK
Nice museum about the roses and rose oil that Bulgaria is famous for. The inner courtyard must be spectacular in season, even after the season there were some very nice flowers still.
Fascinating display of the history of rose growing and oil harvesting in Bulgaria. Worth a visit. Handy hint the Google map location is accurate, the Kazanlak tourist map shows it outside Kazanlak. It moved to its present location and purpose built installation in 2016.
Small tour but enough Information about rose industry history. It worth to buy from its gift shop.
Price for adults 4lv. Price for students 2lv. Has explanations in English as well as Bulgarian and a an authentic rose gift shop. Nice park outside as well
A lot of interesting and cool info abot the roses. Nice and friendly people are working there. Enjoy the museum and the town.
A rather quick to visit museum, but modern and well laid out. It is worth a visit if you are in the area and have some free time.
Kazanluk itself does not offer a lot and the museum is done in 30 minutes max. The whole Rose valley was rather disappointing. You see as much farm land as rose groves
Althoug interesting, the museum is too small. Not so many things to see
Watch out for a love scammer, Marco.Girls and travellers, be careful what image he tries to present to you.
Good place to visit. A bit too expensive for the exhibition.
A good museum which has a lot of info about Bulgarian roses. Also interesting info how it was in the past and how the Bulgarian rose oil is international known.
I didnt knew the importance of rose oil until I came to this museum. It is very informative, the museum staff was very friendly, and of course it smelled like the best kind of roses 🥰 a little piece of heaven!
Very little details about the extraction process and apparently the actual rose sort of Kazanluk isnt even there.
Modern museum with good history overview of rose industry
Nice new building that tells the history of rose oil distillation in Bulgaria.
The attention we received there was great :)
Nice history bits and good rose related items in the gift shop. Including soaps, perfumes, even food and drinks made with some of the best roses in the world.
Interesting place, not many Roses related items, more like a sort of "mixed" natural museum.
Despite the fact that is looks large the museum doesnt have much to see and do.It has interesting history and few artifacts, but very little interactions. You dont need more than 10-15 minutes to see it and that includes the shopping time for rose souvenirs or rose oil products. The park around it is nice to visit and its free.
One of the stops for the visitors of Kazanlak, the capital of the rose valley in Bulgaria, is the Rose Museum 🌹. You will learn there about the history of production of the best quality rose oil in the world, the one produced in Bulgaria.Follow my blog placescases.com for more tips about traveling, staying and dining in Kazanlak and other towns in Bulgaria.
Lovely park, central location, a lot of flowers around the area, two playgrounds for children - one for toddlers & one for grown-ups. There are facilities for drinking water. Recommended! 😊
Really interesting museum with lots of history about roses and the surrounding area. Would recommend visiting if in the area.
Spacious , clean , nicely air conditioned museum. Like an oasis on a hot day.
Not really worth visiting :( One could see pretty much the same thing at the Essential Oils Museum
Good place to understand how important this area (rose oilwas for entire countrys economic
Modern and well located museum. You will need a guide to understand the aim of the exposition.
A great place in the heart of Kazanlyk where you can learn a lot about the way rose oil was produced in the past, its economical and social impact on the society. The museum is easy to find. Its located in a beautiful small park. The tickets are around 7-8 BGN per person. You can also use/buy a combined ticket - one ticket for multiple museums. The people there are really friendly and ready to help you.Its definitely worth the time to go and see it!
The museum is beautiful and the exhibitions were put together greatly. I would have loved to see a little more signs on the actual objects that were exhibited. The staff were friendly and polite.
Very interesting and detailed rose oil tour and its impact over the Bulgarian history.
Nice place, friendly staff. Not so big exhibition, but nice presented in pretty large space. Benches in all rooms so you can relax your feet...
See (and smellthe story of the famous Bulgarian rose oil through the centuries in this unique museum.
Lovely little museum about the history of rose oil production in the region of Kazanluk and Bulgaria. A little small and extra charges apply if you want to take photo inside, but worth a visit if you are in Kazanluk in general or for the festival.
Located in the kazanlak city center. Simply shows many kinds of rose and extraction equipment. There are lots of information of rose history and development of rose products. Also you can browsing cosmetic thing with rose!!
Has English translation (not very commonand good explanation of rose industry history. The toilet is awful and not clean at all.
Very interesting museum. Love it!
Good that it is there. Paid the entry and went in without any suggestions from the guides to actually guide us, especially knwoing that the place was completely empty. Would have loved to have further explanation about the extraction process & alternatives, as well as explanations about the various products in which the rose oil and other products are used. For a small museum like this I think it is important to bring more life to the exhibits.
Well organized but for tourists English speakers we felt that we came to read a lot of information that they put on walls all the way in the long corridor. Lack of English speakers in the place is a barrier Bulgaria must improve spcialy in places like museum.
Great museum showing how Bulgarias world renown rose oil and associated products began. The translations from Bulgarian were the best Ive seen. Really good effort. Looking forward to seeing the rose festival one June soon.
Good walk around the museum. I managed to buy rose water and rose jam, veru good quality and good price
The Bulgarian history is not russian east military expansion and empire ambisions! Have to stop completely to show russion, greek and whatever other bulsheets!
Nice 20 minutes visit within Kazanlak, but dont expect to much of this local museum. There are explanations/signs in English but the exhibition is rather small...
Great place of historic importance. The staff was nice and they actually provided some details to us as a mini tour of the museum. The establishment is full of artefacts and old equipment that has been nicely preserved. We were thrilled with looking at the history and the way of life back then. Definitely worth visiting.
One of the more recent jewels of the city. If you have heard of the rose oil and/or the rose valley this is a must visit place. Here you will not only learn the history of the rose oil but also see how it is extracted from the rose pettle.
Made by a much money for just use the money and for someones false confidence.
Essentially a circular room with an essay about the history of Bulgarian rose production on its walls and some displays. Not bad but...
Quite nice inside but this museum is small and the entrance expensive compared to the size
Well prepared rose indusrty history with real instruments. If you catch concerts in the midgarden.
Amazing place for the history of the rouse and rose oil.Worth visiting especially during spring and summer months as it is surrounded by beautiful park with lots of roses.Only a handful of artefacts but outspoken lecturers and you can learn a lot about the rose oil production and trade from the past and present day.Fenomenal 500 year old rose oil vessel from which you can smell the rose essence even today. They also have a souvenir shop which offers unique rose products like creams, toilet water and perfumes.
