Al Rasheed St, Baghdad, Bayt Ḩānūn
Roots Hotel - Hotel in Bayt Ḩānūn, Palestinian Territory
Clean and arrange well
I can not believe that this building is actually in iraq it is brilliant thanks to saddam for building such a nice hotel like this and thanks for the bad politicians for not ruining this beautiful building
Fantastic experience!
The place is perfect for business stay, the hotel is located in a very secured area and the access to the area is very limited but hotel management will help access the customers.A lot of gardens and green areas.New GYM.Outdoor pool.No alcohol (dry hotelbut there’s some tolerance with foreigners about bringing their own drink.I gave 5 starts comparing to the other hotels in Baghdad
The problem with quality of metiral the have old ac in winter not working
Very bad service and exaturated prices
You have ATM available in the hotel which is free of charge when using Visa cards, good customer service by guards and the entire hospitality staff
Nice hotel in Baghdad....the only thing is that if you are there for Ziyarat...this hotel in in green zone and far from the shrines for about 20-40 min.
Good location, excellent food, soft big bed and good choice of shisha
Good hotel, I recommend
Very good stuff and beautiful hotel
One of the finest hotels in Baghdad to spend fun nights safely
Ah, oh well this is an office mostly, with embassies and multilateral organizations so nothing much to do besides meeting them. Not recommended for a private and social moment..
The food is excellent, the accomodation is tidy and clean.. an excellent facility in which to conduct meetings. My only gripe was that the AC in the rooms wasnt working efficiently. During the night the rooms felt a little too warm to sleep comfortably..
Just arrived for a 5 day work trip. Had chicken kebab for my first night here and it was really good, rooms are comfortable. Staff are friendly.
The best security coverage of the hotel territory. High quality of services, comfortable rooms and safe place in Baghdad. Gym, swimming pool, landscaping are awesome.
5 stars hotel, prices is very expensive compared to the service, but its very secured place and not open to the public, one restaurant and one coffee shop available in the hotel
I used to come here and stay for months as a VIP in this hotel in the 90s as a kid with my family until 2004 before the war. Was a great hotel and staff. Would like to come back. Have so many memories during my long stays here.
Five stars hotel and service, I enjoyed every minute
One of the best hotels in Baghdad, a bit old, but still gold if compared to other hotels.Good rooms but a bit small and furniture is relatively old, yet acceptable. Rates are higher than other hotels in Baghdad, in terms of security, it might be the best, as it is inside the International Zone and all its doors and windows are bullet proof, secured with checkpoint on all entries and exits, too many international firms and companies as well as embassies and consulates are based inside of it since 2005 until present.Services are acceptable in terms of quality and very expensive in terms of cost. It contains more than one restaurant and cafe, swimming pool, sauna, laundry services and all other necessary services for permanent residents.Feel free to address any questions, inquiries or concerns you have as comments on this review, Ill make sure to review and answer as much and as soon as possible.Cheers,Yahya
Hotel is located inside the IZ, but it also has access for non IZ badge carriers, services are good, but needs improvement
Very secure for internationals. Room services are good. Dining is intermediate (needs improvements). Summer swiming pool only. Tennis, vollyball and basketball courts are good. Huge nice garden.
Very nice hotel, very clean, awesome, but access of it is very difficult
Very nice hotel and really clean bed and spread, delicious breakfast
They had a terrible wifi service. Outside the building of the hotel I did not have access to wifi. When it was connected the speed of net was awful and it was disconnected and connected frequently. Menu of the restaurants were limited. The staffs English was not acceptable.
Very nice hotel, food can be better and laudry is insanely expensive
Too quiet, uncomfortable quietness! And I noticed that nothing has been changed in the last 5 years. But I understand that because of the special circumstances of this hotel.
Good hotel in green zone but the price it’s so high
Awesome place , very well protected, basically for foreign citizens, entrance is extremely restricted, has several Visa and English language centers for several companies.
The bed was really good indeed. But sure, the staff was slow blood rodrigez. In Baghdad case, breakfast was also nice I can say
Good but area is blocked. facing a lot of disturbance brfore you arrive to hotel
It’s alright, good food, but no value for money. The general manager Halim is great. One of the best in Baghdad.
The hotel was built in 1982 by the Iraqi government . in the midst of the Iran–Iraq War, in an attempt to show the world that Iraq was stable and safe, and to host an international Non-Aligned Movement. It gained worldwide fame during the 1991 Persian Gulf War when CNN conducted their newscasts from the hotel, propelling the networks senior war correspondent Peter Arnett to fame. Between the Persian Gulf War and the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the building was the main housing facility for Western businessmen and diplomats, as well as foreign press. After the invasion, the hotel was converted into a base for the Coalition and the American military. On October 26, 2003.
Beautiful grounds around this hotel. Large conference rooms and banquet halls. Neat little gift shop near the lobby. The cafe at the rear of the lobby served good coffee and interesting cakes. Saw a large pool with a diving board, but did not see anyone using it. A family of mama cat and kittens roam the gardens.
I went there to attend TedX event, I think it isnt the best place to host such events because the hotel is located in the green zone but they did great
I hate this place. Too expensive. Nothing more . You should walk and pass tunnel to reach it. And its just for security reasons. However, there are many hotels in Baghdad, furthermore its more secure ,cheaper and higher value.
It has an amazing garden you think that you are outside Iraq and his main hall is wonderful
Very dodgy management style. They will charge 15-20% additionally if you pay with card and say nothing. So, much better pay with cash.
The inside is well decorated, Gardens and meeting halls are nice and have everything you need but food is not good, they need to work on it.
It is the worse 5 star hotle I have been in my life...The resident were suffering over 3 months on AC cooling..I have been there last night 15 July and room temperature was 28 C!!!! I couldnt sleep at all and it is a VIP hotle not a normal 5 star,Many governments living inside and many of them are diplomatic!!!!! and I believe they are paying a good amount of money ...It is a disaster for hotle Management, I prefere to stay in 2 star hotle (clean and coolrather than this one, I hope I will not stay again in this hotle again...
I like the garden and the pool, the service is good in general but the food really needs some improvement!
The place is outdated, their restaurant offers stale food and getting there is a bothersome for most people. The rooms are nice and clean though.
Small rooms, low roofs, bad lighting, pretending to be luxurious, over rated, over priced, fully locked windows, AC system semi functional and will let you freeze with no way to turn it off, taking advantage of its location in green zone and presence of security procedures of many associations making it mandatory to stay in as there no competition around.Good food and treatment.
great Hotel, limited access, very good service If you have a money, then go now
Extremely overrated and overpriced. If it wasnt for its location in the international zone and the UN wasting their money on the hotel, it would have ceased to exist
Al Rashid is one of the best hotels in Baghdad and is dedicated to the first class workers
Disgusting hotel. I watched a cat in the garden choke to death on poison laid by the hotel. I know it was poison because the next day there was another dead cat, this time next to the kitchen! Not surprising in a Muslim country where there is no compassion for animals but still outrageous to see in the grounds of a hotel catering to westerners. Not only are they killing animals in this barbaric manner but they are also leaving them to rot in the grounds of the hotel.Having to watch a cat slowly die is one thing, having to walk past its corpse day after day is another!I will not be staying in this hotel again!
First of all you have to consider that this hotel is located at the green zone (IZso if you want to use your car you have to have an IZ badge to get in or out the hotel, If you dont then you have only one entrance which is located in karadah mariamAbout the hotel is amazing from inside and outside the service is very good
Nice hotel! Safe place but needs more services
Very good hotel, super big and clean, most workers in can speak English. And you can do a massage in 1F with Chinese girls, and a swimming pool too.
