Rooftop Bar - Hotel Mundial - Cocktail bar in Lisbon, Portugal
Rooftop bar was pricey for what you get and the area. Steak sandwich was a huge letdown (undersized chewy piece of steak and that was all that was in it). Cocktails were nice. Great view. Service was friendly.
Worst and most disrespectful hotel bar staff ever. We have spent a lot of money to stay at the hotel, and even though the were a lot of free space on the terrace, we were not allowed to sit in a quiet corner, of the otherwise noisy bar. We had some mails to finish the day, but the staff would not let us sit at an empty table with accessible power for the PC. Had to go the hotel room, instead of enjoying the nice climate this sunny afternoon in Lisbon. The hotel staff had no interest in helping out, really bad service from the hotel and bar!Chr Rifbjerg LarsenMD PHD Consultant Gynaecologist
We had to go on a waitlist to get in but it was worth the wait as the views were absolutely amazing, from late afternoon until night. Thats what makes the place. Cocktails were good but we were disappointed by the ginger Cosmopolitan which didnt taste gingery at all. Had to pay after each drink order which was a bit annoying, running tabs would be much better. Service was hit and miss. We would have eaten there but there was nothing on the food menu that tempted us unfortunately.
Nice view. Maybe you have to wait a little for your table but its totally worth it
The server was uninterested. They did not offer us a menu. I had to ask for drinks. We had waited nearly 15 minutes by that time. He did not smile. Did not care. Absolutely awful service. On the Positive side the view is unbelievable. It was a beautiful day.
Currently staying here. Amazing view but despite there being several staff, the service is slow and disorganized. You are given a buzzer which apparently doesnt work and people are served in front of you. The reaction of staff is not what is expected in a hotel service industry. I have NEVER been served a club sandwich with beef before either but I guess I just havent traveled that much. Expensive for nothing really. Shame has LOTS of potential but seems poorly run.
Went here both days for some drinks and the service was great.
The view from the rooftop was really pretty, sadly the service wasn‘t good at all. We waited 20min for our very simple drink order and the cocktails weren‘t even good.
The drinks were quick and very tasty but absolutely on the expensive side, you essentially pay for the view. While the food was also of sufficient proportion and nice ideas, the high price and very long wait time (part of which could explain that it was coldmakes it not worth it.
Was really pumped to come here because I heard from friends that this is a really nice place. Well, yeah it is physically nice, technically nice, you’re basically paying for the view. It’s located in the perfect spot. But, the service was bad. They had so much staff and we kept waiting and raising our hands but the waiters seem to ignore us on purpose even though they can see us through their peripheral view. We felt like, “do you want us to order or not?”. They were just walking around pretending to be busy and when we finally got our drinks, it tasted like water, and we waited for soooooo long to get our bill. We didn’t order more, because for the price you pay, you’re not getting the service that you deserve. I would say, the place is really nice, but don’t expect much with the service. Not friendly at all. Not accommodating. They were very distracted I guess because they were having some aperol spritz event that time. Anyway, so much for that, you better go to a different rooftop next time, the prices are almost the same anyway especially for cocktails, always choose the one with better service. It makes a lot of difference.
The staff here were not very helpful as you wait for a very long time for drinks. The drink selection was very small as well. The furniture was not very comfortable and the atmosphere was quite boring. There is way better rooftops in Lisbon to check out.
It didnt deserve the money. There isnt any shadow allow, and the prices are really expensive. Better another rooftop in Lisboa like Silkclub, or Sky bar Lisboa
This is a review of trying to get into the bar, not of the bar itself. My partner and I are staying at the hotel Mundial. Two nights ago we tried to enter the rooftop bar at 7 or 8pm, and we were told there was a 20 minute wait. We had dinner plans so we decided to come again the next night. Last night we tried at 10:30pm for a nightcap but there was no space and the crowd already inside seemed likely to close down the spot (it closes at 11pm). The hostess told us “you really need to come at 3:30 if you want to be sure of a space” so today we went at 3:45pm. The hotel electricity was off (??), and there was a sign saying the place would open at 4pm. At 4:10 I peeked upstairs and it looked like there was a staff meeting going on. A server made eye contact with me, but they looked away quickly when I tried to communicate and ask what was going on. We overheard another couple who tried to go up, someone told them to come back at 5:30pm. Conclusion: I’m sure it’s nice but I don’t want to bother trying to get in yet another time.
The view is very nice, but some drinks like the sangria are just crazy expensive. You get something like 0.375L for 15€ and 0.75L for 25€ and no fruit inside if not two cubes of lemon and cucumber. The place is also very windy so bring a jacket with you.
Beautiful night or day. Panoramic view, great staff. Highly recommend.
Lovely staff, good price for drinks and an amazing view! Atmosphere is good with music, we went twice during our 5 day stay in Lisbon.
It is really cool place! Life music, beautiful views, nice cocktail.Little to windy, so its better not to have hair and to have smth warm with you
Lovely spot! Complimentary Crisps and Olives with our drinks. Staff members, very attentive and spoke very good English.
Can only give this place two stars. Rude staff and hot waiting room for a table where you’re not permitted to buy a drink. Bad idea, ruins the evening for many.
Nice view but the cocktails are not that nice, I’m not sure I would recommend, you can probably find something nicer.
Good views. Small selection of food. Very windy so make sure to wear something warm. Staff did not turn on heaters when it was clear everyone was cold.
Location is great, fantastic central Lisbon. But the bar itself has seen better days.
Really nice, great food, drinks and excellent service. It got cloudy the day I went there, but the night views with the castle looked pretty good.
Great view, very friendly staff, chique place with live dj and prices are very acceptable taking its location into account. Experience to never forget!
I love this place… one of my favourite places to have a drink in Lisbon. It has a very upscale vibe, beautiful views, kind staff and very delicious cocktails. I would recommend the blue sangria jug. Yes, BLUE sangria… it has a tropical taste and has sparkling wine in it… very different and very delicious. The vibe of the place is lovely, there’s no better place to have drinks on a sunny day. Pictured here is the pink gin jug… very delicious but a little dangerous haha, order this if you’re in a party mood.
beautiful view but not worth the money at all! service was very rushed, brought us our bill with the arrival of the food. ordered a tuna sandwich and a steak sandwich and came on plain bread with no seasoning or flavour.
Wonderful bar with great flair and views. Local wines are available and a large selection of great (and largecocktails for reasonable prices, i.e. wines 5-6€ per glas or 25-30€ per bottle, cocktails for 12-15€. Note: to get to the bar, walk all the way through the lobby to the backside of the hotel and take the last elevator!
Looks cool on the pictures, but very bad experience, the drinks are way too expensive if you compare it to their very low quality standard. Besides, their employees at the entrance to the rooftop bar are very unprofessional and unfriendly.Don’t waste your time by going there, trust me.
Visited the rooftop bar of the Mundial yesterday and had a great time, spent hundreds of euros so thought we’d return today. Staff decided to lie to us and say there was a problem which meant they couldn’t let anyone in (we were there as it opened). We suspected they were lying and it was confirmed a couple of minutes later when we looked across from a different venue and saw dozens of people on the rooftop, including people who were behind us in the queue. Disgraceful selective entry policy.
you have to wait for ten to entree. One of the best view of Lisbon. It kind of pricey.
Good cocktails and amazing views over Lisbon!
We were looking for a rooftop bar in the central area of Lisboa. This bar is listed on Tripadvisor and Google as a freely accessible bar. When we reached the top and inquired for a seat we were told it was for hotel guests only. Extremely disappointing especially because the hotel security did not mention this when we inquired for directions on the ground floor. So of your looking for the rooftop…. And are not staying in there hotel…. Be aware
I am utterly disappointed at my experience here. My friend and I were the only ones waiting for a table until more people came to form a line after 20 minutes of just us waiting alone. While we waited 30 minutes, we were told by the employees to wait until people leave as they are at full capacity. After multiple people left, we were excited we were going to be seated. However, this female worker came and looked me up and down and said "you dont look like youre staying at this hotel and we are only serving hotel guests tonight". I was in shock because no one mentioned theyre only seating hotel guests during our entire time waiting. On top of that, guests who we met in the elevator that were just at the rooftop bar told us they didnt ask them if they were hotel guests and were able to enter and stay for drinks. I also turned around and saw them letting everyone else in without asking if they were guests.I feel discriminated based on the way I dressed/looked. Everyone else was white and older (50+ year old). My friend and I both look young and are in our 20-30s. I let the hotel reception know about my experience and they were surprised the rooftop employees told us that because they even said "they said that to you??". Then they said, the rooftop bar does prioritize hotel guests. I said thats no issue, the issue is the fact they told us wed get a table while we were waiting but decided to tell us we have to leave when it was our turn to be seated while assuming I wasnt a hotel guest. I am absolutely disgusted by this treatment and discrimination. I will never recommend this place to anyone.
Very nice Rooftopbar with great view of Lisboa. Chips, Nuts and Olives are for free with the drinks. We had to wait a little bit to get seated, but it was worth it.
Very nice rooftop bar with such a lovely service, good drinks and also marvelous food! I had the best grilled octopus ever!
Very nice viewIt was very calm when i went i would have appreciated it more if they put some Fado or any festive music
Great view but terrible drinks.
Nice location for dinner or drinks, it was quite windy when we went so consider bringing a jacket. The food and drinks were decent, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They don’t take reservations, just a waitlist when you arrive.
Cool place with a really nice view. Prices are fair, a bit higher than in an average place but thats understandable. My maracuja mohito was very tasty but my husbands Aperol Spritz wasnt very good. You could feel wrong proportions of the ingredients. The staff is super nice and helpful. There is a beautiful waiting room so if you wish to wait for a free table then there is a lot of place to do that. The only thing I didnt like are chairs that are super uncomfortable.
One could argue that the cocktails might be a bit pricey, but the ones we had were really well done and they come with an amazing view over Lisbon. Great rooftop bar experience with staff focused on customer service.
Great view on all downtown Lisbon, price are quite high for the City (11€ the cocktailbut the place definitely worth it !
It was a nice place to sit. Its also open for people who do not stay at the hotel. Prices are ok. I paid 5 euro for a 0.5L beer. The view is great. The chairs werent comfortable. I rather have a bit lower seats. Staff was nice.
Not cheap, but the drinks were good and the views are exceptional. Really unique place, would definitely recommend for a drink or two.
The view its all this place has to offer to be honest, the food was okay ish but it was SUPER expensive, you get nothing close to your moneys worth in food quantity nor quality, go there for a drink but avoid eating there at all costs.
Enjoyed our drinks and the view soooo much this afternoon! Service was good, the staff was friendly, and the drinks are delicious!
Massive rooftop with wonderful views! Nice attentive service and they even provide you with blankets if it gets chilly :Good range of cocktails and funky music.
A bit expensive and very crowded, but the best view of Lisbon! The staff were very service minded.
Fantastic view and amazing cocktails!! Expensive, yes, but very much worth it!
the views are incredibly up here, just fantastic, menu and prices are adopted to the demand. loved the experience and were happy to have enjoyed this unique experience especially going down with elevator afterwards. Love Lisbon, despite the many tourist (incl.uswhich add to the experience.
Excellent view of Lisbon without having to hike up a massive hill whilst dodging trams and vespas. Cocktails were also nice. The outside of the building looks grimy and dirty but have faith.
