Roman Bridge of Córdoba in Cordoba

There is little roman left of the bridge. Restored till it looks brand new, irritating musicians and beggers.

The Roman Bridge is a must in Córdoba. On one side theres the little museum in the Tore de la Calahorea, and on the other, the Mezquite and la Judería.

Amazing to see a 2 thousand year old Roman Bridge. Views are beautiful at night to see The Mezquite.

Nice city to visit. We got train from Malaga to Cordoba was very easy trip.

With the castle/museum at one end and the cathedral/mosque at the other end of the bridge, not to mention the vast gardens and beautiful cobbled streets surrounding both, this is a pretty ideal way to spend a day. The Roman bridge needs a whole day and the rest of Cordoba requires another to fully appreciate what the city has to offer.

Named as “Old Bridge” built 1st century across Guadalquivir river. It has been reconstructed many times ever since with Arabs shape remained until now. Now completely pedestrian across with nice view and feel.

One of the main attractions of Cordoba😁 Its hard not to notice the Roman Bridge👉 Puente Viejo was built during the reign of Emperor Augustus, i.e. around the 1st century BC. However, it owes its present shape to the Islamic reconstruction. It has 16 arcades - one less than originally - and a total length of 247 meters😍It is worth going up the tower of the Museum of Andalusia, which is located on the other side of the Bridge and seeing the area from above.

Immediately after the cathedral there is the Puerta del Puente and from there cross the Roman bridge to the other side.The bridge is full of tourists compared to the rest of the city.From here you can watch the Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba, especially at night, the view is charming and worth the visit

This bridge was built in the 1st century BC. For twenty centuries, it was the only bridge, incredibly, in this important and wonderful city. It was built by the Romans, being the first stone bridge to cross the Guadalquivir River. He is believed to have built the famous “Via Augusta” bridge connecting Rome to Cádiz.The bridge is so important and imposing that some scenes from the Game of Thrones movie were shot here. The bridge is one of the most important monuments of this extraordinary city. Definitely a place to visit.

Not sure there is much of the original Roman structure left, its still beautiful though with fabulous views of the Mezquita/Catedral. Was the only crossing of the Guadalquivir in Cordoba for many centuries, only being replaced by a modern road bridge in recent years.

Beautiful bridge during the day and the night - feels like you’re back in medieval times. Córdoba is very clean and well-maintained. Lovely place to visit in Spain.

Spread majestically from one side of the Guadalquivir River to the other, the Roman bridge in Cordoba was built in 45 AD. In the 8th century, it was rebuilt by the Moors, then by the Christian rulers after the Reconquista, and the last changes date back to 1876. Now it is completely pedestrian.

Must visit site, it’s lovely to see all the history in the area. Recommend a visit.

The bridge starts at the foot of the mosque. It is a beautiful walk starting from the tower of Calahorra on the opposite shore, where it is easy to park, cross the bridge and get lost in the historic center.

Lovely setting and great view of the river. An updated version, but youre still standing on over two thousand years of history.Not sure about the recent up dating to the top of the bridge. Must see though.

Came here at sunrise, not crowded and it was absolutely beautiful.

A nice walking path with cool views of the old town and the river.

This is a pedestrian bridge that is 2000+ years old.It is not crowded, and had great views of the Cordoba Cathedral.This is just a bridge, do not expect street vendors like you might see in Prague, but there are shops and restaurants on either side of the bridge.

Absolutely stunning to visit on sunset. Make sure to walk from the Sur area (coming from Molina de San Rafaelduring sunset to get a breathtaking view of the city and bridge.

Very definitely a bridge of two aspects, the spectacular bulkheads you see in this photographs, the plainer one with no bulging brickwork not as spectacular as this. Quite an achievement for those great Roman engineers and with the great Mezquito Mosque-cathedral respendent behind it.

A beautiful old bridge that has a nice view of the old town. It connects the old town to the old tower. People play guitar on this bridge and they have nice performances. It adds to the ambiance.

The bridge has undergone a number of reconstructions over the years and today only the 14th and 15th arches at the northern end (city endare original. At the northern end stands the Puerta del Puente (Bridge Gateand at the southern end is the Torre de la Calahorra (Calahorra Towerwhich also houses a museum.The bridge is lit up and night and provides a great spot for sunset and twilight photos.During peak tourist season it is usually packed.

This landmark was beautiful to walk on. It is packed but regardless wonderful to experience.

Beautiful bridge. Back in the days thought to slow the flow of the guadalquivir river. Nowadays the water line is a lot lower then back in the days.

It was one of the most important ways of entering the city from the south of the Iberian Peninsula because it was the only point at which one could cross the river without using some sort of boat. The bridge made Cordoba a city of strategic importance, becoming the capital of Roman Andalusia (Beticaand Muslim Al-Andalus. In fact, it has been known for many centuries as the Old Bridge.

Magnificent bridge, great attraction of Cordoba and definitely justifies the choice for game of thrones location :the bridge seems to be packed on weekends though. We were lucky enough to be there during the three culture market festival, which made it even more interesting and fun. Seems like cordoba is January is really fun!

Beautiful bridge leading to Cordoba’s cathedral. It was also used in Game of Thrones (however heavily used with CGI). A nice walk along the bridge gives you a wonderful view on the city. On the other side however there is not much to see.

Another amazing Roman bridge, now pedestrianised so the whole experience is far more pleasant. Its worth walking over from both sides (more photo opportunitiesand also worth a revisit at night when the mosque/cathedral is all lit up.

Breathtaking bridge both in the daylight and evening. Well worth a walk over in both to see it in different lights.Not much on the opposite side to the main tourist area so not worth stopping over.

Nice bridge. You can feel the history on it. It’s nice that in the middle you can sit down and rest. On one end is some museum for 4.5 but we didn’t go inside.

Great Bridge, it take you back to history and shows you a little bit of the greatness and creativity in the past. The atmosphere here is really awesome full of musicians and nice people. You will enjoy the place during the sunset because they view and the atmosphere are great and wonderful.

Dated back to 1st century BC, it had been built by the Romans. However, it has been extensively reconstructed and renovated throughout history. Most of present structure was the Works of Moorish in the 8th century. The glorious Puerta Del Puente, the Gate of the Bridge, and the marvelous Calahorra Tower were added at bridges Northern and Southern End in the middle age, which further enhanced its magnificence. Complementing to one another, the scenery of these historic architectures is magnificently mesmerising. With Great Mosque as its backdrop, the Bridge offers wonderful photography opportunities for tourists. Highly recommended. I am Uploading a few photos here.

Certain areas of this bridge are actually from the Roman era. The bridge itself isnt that spectacular but I walk along it does give you a view of the river which has various wildlife and old houses to the side of the bridge is something that wouldnt be out of place in Rome and is truly beautiful. Still worth a walk across though.

Despite of what tourists think, this bridge is pretty new. The original parts were gone long time ago and the bridge passed through lots of different restaurantion until get how it is today. Even cars were passing over it. It still a pretty bridge to see the sunset. It worth the visit

Easy to find, usually has some artists show off their work or musicians. An easy way to get into the main city and the mezquita without having to drive into the complicated old town.

Beautiful but not that extraordinary like Prague bridges. But I give more rating because of there amazing Historical Mosque in Cordoba which is the oldest Mosque in Europe. The small city shows how three religious group of people lived there with harmony and well maintained their historical architecture and local arts.

It’s nice to walk across the Roman Bridge it gives a good view back onto Córdoba and the Mesquite. On the far side is a big watch tower and you can see the remains of a water mill building down below. In fact back on the other side there is still a large water wheel visible. If you look over the side of the bridge you will see the large brick supports for the bridge. It’s obviously been maintained over the years so it’s hard to tell how much is original.

We visited this bridge on a Monday last week. Not knowing that most tourist locations are closed on Mondays in Cordoba. Fortunately this footbridge was open. Its been renovated several times over the years so it doesnt feel or look old. We walked across the bridge but didnt go into the tower as you have to buy ticket to go in. Theres a nice walk along the river. There are local shops on the other side which is not touristy.

What an amazing place. Really great to take photo, especially around sunset. With a background of Mezquita cathedral and yellowish sun.There are also small park below the brodge where you can take a walk really nice to enjoy with your friends or families. There are also a lot of interesting street performance.

Córdoba is a beautiful city, well cared for and with an intelligent solution to the automobile traffic problem in the sensitive historical centre: It is restricted to residents only. The Mosque/Cathedral is breathtaking.

Good to see from a distance/river bank but has been paved with modern cement etc so when youre walking on it theres not much to see but the tower at the end (from old town side). You can climb the tower for good view and photos of old town, cathedral etc.
