1910 El Indio Hwy, Eagle Pass, TX 78852, United States, Eagle Pass
Long-running, classic counter-serve institution with fried chicken meals & sides, plus a drive-thru.
Best Fried Chicken in Eagle Pass! hands down!
Awesome gizzards, but price increases have increased by 50%. Small gizzards were $5.99 with price increase they are now priced at $8.99
Did not like the line they need a biger place
Great food, fast service
I was on vacation in Texas and I was told to try out this location. Is one of the best chicken tender I had I from Chicago and the closes chicken similar is raising canes. But this joint is better then canes the next time Im in Texas Ill make sure I stop at this restaurant again.
Love the chicken tenders! Their always perfectly cooked and taste yummy yummy delicious! The kids love it and always asking for more. The place tends to be busy usually and the drive thru line is normally long but the service is rather quick. Its worth the wait all the times. The gizzards are not on my list but hear many good comments on them. The building is well kept and customer service is great! Parking is large enough for everyone.
Cant believe restaurant isnt opened to the public yet! I called to question and said they would reopen the restaurant part till 2025!
The best Gizzards and Tenders in town. Also great service. Ive never had any issues with anyone or my orders. Rodees staff is always very polite and friendly. My Gizzards and Tenders are always on point.
Best fried chicken I ever had anywhere hands down. Pleasant surprise since I was visiting from Dallas, Texas.
I went to the restaurant and I recib terrible service they guivme wrong order and they didnt apologize no sorry no thanks no thing thats terrible!!!!
Best gizzards and chicken tenders in town.
Paid nearly $10 for 5 Tenders but i only got 4 and really you are going to give a customer burnt fries like that. Whats wrong with you 🤔
Everytime we drive to EP, we have to get Rodees. Those gizzards are a family favorite. Mine are the chicken tenders.
If you visit eagle pass you got too stop at Rodees and try some delicious chicken and gizzards
Best gizzards in the U.S.A “!!!! been going there for as long as I can remember even though I moved away we always stop at roadies to get gizzards when we’re going through I remember….. Thank You!! Gill Ranch , El Indio
Very fast service and they are very friendly with the customers. Awesome place to eat.
Chicken and gizzards were delicious. I order the spicy, and that takes 15 minutes. No compliments about the food. Just the half medium size. That would be called a small, not a half medium. Also, the older man taking orders is extremely rude and always in a hurry. If the customer service improves, it will be a 5 star. Also, its only a take-out.
Man, they always running out of food. Waited in line just to be told "ay pinche wey, ya no tenomos comida. Vete al la berga" Ok? I dont even speak spanish?!?!
Tenders are half the size as before, the prices are higher and on the 20 piece tenders now it only comes with 1 side instead of 2. Why remove the 2nd side? I would have been okay with a price increase if they kept the original big tenders instead of these small ones. It was one of my favorite places for me and my kids.. but I guess it’s time to move on.
After this health emergency with the "virus", this place quality UNFORTUNATELY is not the same... hopefully they can return to what it was before the quarantine...
I had never tried gizzard. First timer and they were so good!
Staff are very Helpful. Speedy Service no matter long line in drive thru. Or waiting outside theyre fast.. But there Chicken portions are Big. Nice meals group to select from.. always prices never went up. The place we always return when back in town. Perfect portions meals for whole family or groups. Call ahead allowed. Thanks God bless 🙌
Best Chicken in eagle pass tx.im from San Antonio Texas, gotta stop here at least twice a month . (MAQUINITAS DE TEXAS)
Tenders Werent Good... and Gizzards not enough lemon pepper like i had asked and was charged for it... not even the rolls were given to me...
Great tenders & gravy. Every time I come to spend some time @ my parents property in El Indio, I have to get me some tenders. Love this place..keep up the good work Rodees..
I hate their food but my husband loves the gizzards so he asked me to get order of gizzards for him so he can enjoy after work. I dont have my glasses yet and he gets out late since he works in carrizo so i got delivery with door dash and guess what...NOT A SINGLE SAUCE IN ANY OF THE BAGS! AND I PUT IN SPECIal rewuests to add $1.00 more of sauce for the gizzards! Didnt even get what is supposed to come with the gizzards! Ridiculous and such a dissappointment. Service is ALWAYS BAD apart from the food. Dont waste your money here.
Best gizzards in the world. Years since I was a child and still in love with this gizzards. No place I have gone have a taste like in Rodees gizzards. What I like is how they fill up the box of gizzards.
Yuck. 1st time eating here and chicken tasted like burnt grease. Coleslaw was wayyyyyy to sweet and watery. Fries were mushy soggy and diet coke tasted a little like chemical cleaner. Only thing edible was the fried okra. Very good fried okra. We wont revisit unless we crave fried okra! $20 out the window on this one
First: The food is good. Its not the best fried chicken in the world, but its solid - tasty and a good value for the price. The bad: The location is in a bad spot and their parking is bad. They are, at the moment, only allowing take out and drive thru. Their order taking is disorganized... but it is worth the wait... and definitely be prepared to wait.
I moved to Eagle Pass about 6 months ago and Rodees quickly became one of my most frequented restaurants. There are at least 6 other fried chicken establishments around town, some of which have more options for sides and drinks. Some have better rolls/biscuits and better french fries. The reason I always chose Rodees over any of the others (even though I knew it would mean sitting in the drive thru line for nearly 20 minutes, was that Rodees HAD the best chicken tenders in town. These tenders were BIG and juicy and well worth the wait. Now, Rodees has cut the size of their tenders in half and they are just ordinary, nothing special. In the future I will probably not choose Rodees.

Chicken tenders were great. This was my first time to eat here. I wish I had looked at the entire menu before ordering because there was a lot of other tasty looking items.
The food is great, but the service is bad. There is always something missing or they give me the wrong order. PLEASE CHECK YOUR ORDER.
Food was okay but, we got yelled at and rushed for taking too long on drive thru. Well sorry it was my first and definitely my last time. Shame on you rhodes.... We will never return. Time to look for another spot
Love those GIZZARDS!1/2 Order is perfect for one person.
Its the local fried chicken, tenders, gizzards, fries and more place. When growing up on Eagle Pass, I remember going here every several weeks when it was the older location the was next door. It had the crunchiest chicken and the gizzards with their flavorings the best.Ive been now a handful of times when Ive visited EP throughout the years at this newer building/location and its not as tasty as I remember it being when growing up.The better service and experience has been when eating in the restaurant itself. Thats when it seems that the better service and food is served. When going through the drive through, although they are nice, the food itself hasnt been as tasty. The tenders are still almost like I remember as well as gizzards, but the regular chicken seems different. In 2017 when the first LGBTQ+ Parade and Festival by EP SAFE took place at the San Juan Park, they were one of the vendors. I point this out because as far as I know, there isnt a directory of LGBTQ+ owned, operated, or friendly local businesses.
Delicious fried chicken and lemon pepper gizzards! Family owned with a bilingual staff for all needs. So yummy. Totally returning when stopping in Eagle Pass.
Gizzzards!!! Thats all, ordered them and tell me they are not good i dare you, in fact i double dare you... they are really good and the tenders are juicy and big which is nice. Overall its awesome food, maybe not a fancy place but definitely tasty.
last time I went was on a weekend, I know they are super busy but they should have a cleaning crew and keep cooking area clean. I just go because of the Gizzards, but lately gizzards are dry like they have been there for a while, now rather go to the mobile location on seco mines, gizzards made when you order.
Jumbo, crispy all white meat chicken tenders, very well seasoned gizzards, hearty country gravy and fries guaranteed to fill you up! Very affordable prices. A beloved hometown favorite that has captured the appetites of many a hungry traveler time and time again!
If your from eagle Pass, Im sorry I gave it a 2 star, but this is not a very clean place at all. The restrooms are also very dirty. I do recommend it because its still good, but I go maybe once a year, Ive never been sick from this place, but it sure can use some mopping on the floors. People come from out of town for this place, so yes try it out, its good, but just use the drive thru and you will thank me.
Best Fried Chicken in Texas!! All people need to eat the gizzards are so delicious!!
Best chicken in town n best service as well. Yes it had its moments where the food doesnt taste great but when they do make them good n fresh its the best place to grab a bite to eat. I also love the rodees mobile truck when they have events or just passing by around Las Minas area or wherever they are posted. I recommend it if ur an out of towner to give it a try. Its one of those local own family restaurants that give a run for ur money.
The food is delicious. However the customer service is not. I went in yesterday when they opened at 10am for for two small orders to bring home to California, but I was told I had to wait 45 minutes because they had just opened. They prepare the food when its ordered and it doesnt take that long to prepare. What a disservice.
Dont get me wrong, the food is incredible! One of the best locally owned restaurants in Eagle Pass when it comes to food. In customer service though, I list it as one of the worse. Expect long delays during peak hours due to the amount of people that eat there. But good food takes time. Expect rude teenagers working registers who seem to have only gotten the job because they know the owner, related, or part of a club. Aside from rude, they constantly get the orders wrong when packing to-go packages. I had to get in a habit of checking my food before I left. I cant tell you how many times Ive gotten home and either there is a major item missing or wrong altogether. Forget calling in your order, they never answer. When they do, they seem pissed about the fact that they had to answer in the first place (probably because teenagers text more than actually socialize with live people). In my last visit, my order was perfect, the staff was prompt with getting it to me, and here I thought it would be a great visit. Wrong. They charged me several times for the same order and the child at the register had no idea how to refund charges. Ended up waiting too long and my food was cold and they wouldnt change it out.Why do I keep going back? Compared to other fried chicken restaurants (Popeyes, Churchs, and KFC), this food actually tasted good.I guess if you dont mind the service and the wait times for good food, go try this place.
You cant be the price for the amount of food they give you. The 5 piece tender meal is enough for even the bottomless stomachs. The few downsides include cheap store bread and the lack of adequate parking spaces. Other than that...the food tastes great and itll keep you coming back for more.
It use to be good but not anymore. The last time we went the chicken taste burn like if the oil was sitting there for days. The fries were cold. My husband liked the gizzards. I grew up eating this chicken and loved it. I remember when it was at the smaller building next door and the owners were there cooking the food with passion. Now all I see is pimple face kids ruining that place and mistreating that business to its core. If I go is because Im a loyal customer. But I hope the owners notice was going on before Bushs chicken takes over.
The gizzards are the bomb! The tenders are above average. The short old fat man at the front counter is terrible at customer service. Hes rude and is the reason me annd my family dont go eat there more often.
Famous with all the locals, highly recommended to everybody looking for a good place to eat! The Chicken gizzards are the number one dish in the restaurant, but all their meals are cooked to a very distinguished standard.
Staff id very curteous for the most part. The food is delicious, especially if you order the spicy chicken tenders, they are magnificant. Restrooms can be a little more taken care off, but other than that its a good place to sit down and eat with a friend or family.
