Rocky Cape National Park - National park in Smithton, Australia
Super tranquility with pure nature
Great place to get out into the open.
Gem of a place. Off the beaten track.
Liked the drive through, the lighthouse was ok but not that great. Didnt stay long
Good spot for a hike, quiet, picturesque. The tracks need a little work but nothing too bad. Good spot
This is my favourite Tas national park for unspoilt bush walks away from it all. Fascinating vegetation, views and bird life. Tracks could do with a bit of tlc in places though!
There are two ways you can go, either the banksia Grove and caves circuit or the anniversary bay circuit.I combined both of them 😂 I started from the beach, went to the wet cave (bring a torch if youd like to explore the cave! If youd like to do a shorter track, just do the banksia Grove and caves circuit. When you return from Lee archer cave, walk through the banksia Grove route, turn left and come back to the main point.I decided to do the anniversary bay circuit after walking through the banksia Grove! Walked through the beach, therere some parts where I needed to climb above the rocks to get through! There were a lot of uphill tracks since I came went from the beach. Went up the broadhill view, its only about 234m (the sign dropped so just lookout for the turn), the view on top is fabulous!Took me about 3.5hours for the whole track, but I did stop quite a bit to take photos 😍
The best views from any of the walks on offer. Walking tracks in pretty good condition & signposts at intersections. Cant get lost.😊
Stunning place. Beautiful beach and a great selection of trails for hiking or running
Amazing site of Ancient cave art and middens
This is a beautiful National Park with many easy short walks
Anniversary Bay has got to be one of the best beaches anywhere...too bad the water is so cold, otherwise noone would go to the mainland
Amazing, huge walk but well worth it. Annie and I shared our curried egg sandwich and a cup of tea in isolation. Wow what an experience
nice rock climbing
Stunning views. Gorgeous area. Very quiet.
Very beautiful, cute walks and a beach to cool down after
Rugged and beautiful!
Nice walk along a great piece of coast.
Great tracks that are easy to navigate. Amazing views and beautiful coloured rocks and native flora
The anniversary bay loop is really worth it. A good diversity of landscapes and relatively easy for a 3-4 hour walk including stops. Quite exposed so probably best to avoid on a hot day!
Amazing views, good quality walking trail especially considering how remote it feels.
Great area. Make sure you get some info about the aboriginal history of this area. Fascinating.
Wonderful coast walk to beautiful bays with only a few other walks. In earl January the coastal heath flowers were out ad Beautiful. The bays with unusual rocks impressive
Decent and easy trail, beautiful view of the sea. Not the best trail to be hiking during a very sunny day during the summer.
Beautiful walking track
Stunning... Quite a steep Hill but absolutely breathtaking.... And a very easy trail to follow
Rocky Cape is stunning and quite beautiful for taking photos and fossiking around the rock pools at low tide.
Stunning scenery and so close to Devonport. So much to explore. Lots of cultural heritage. Would love to visit again.
The park itself is great but the entry from Sisters Beach boat ramp is confusing. Get to the boat ramp, walk left on the beach and you will eventually find the tail entry marker.
Awesome place for a walk beautiful views
Beautiful beaches, rock formations and caves with an important aboriginal history. There was almost nobody there when we visited on a Saturday morning in January. We decided to check our Rocky Cape because we were in the area, but I hadnt heard anything about it before so it was a pleasant surprise and I think it is an underrated gem on the North coast.
Hiked for about an hour up the Postmans Track. Great views, great experience with great friends.
Really good sport climbing area
What a superb gem on the north coast of Tas! Picturesque views, impressive rock formations - the short south cave and north cave walks are both totally worth the 10/15mins each way.
The parts I saw were awesome, I didnt explore as much as I would like but there are some great tracks and awesome scenery to enjoy. Some of the walks need to be better signed because there were loads I missed out on.
The scenery is spectacular, but we followed the "coastal path" between Rocky Cape and Sisters Beach. Often the path was absolutely impossible to find and we found ourselves pushing through thick scrub . The pathway needs re-stating and maintaining.
Absolutely stunning scenery!!!! Easy to get to and a great pitstop on a road trip!!!
Very nice national park! Not too big so easy to see in one day. Also nice semi-offroad. Its good fun driving there with an amazing view on these old and colorful rocks.
Harsh, rugged & still beautiful. Magnificent native orchids!
Awesome, wild and beautiful
Diverse, spectacular, great boat ramp, Snorkeling, swimming, short walks.
A bit confusing if camping is allowed in the NP??? Local shop (and NP agentsays yes. But locals gave us grief. Nice spot close to beach and to town.
Fantastic day hike on a beautiful day
Great park with beautiful walking tracks.
Beautiful small park lovely coastal views and some nice walking to some aboriginal heritage. Needs a visitors centre at the entry
So nice. The light house is so romantic at night. Its just gorgeous.
Worth a visit, decent little walks, beautiful and rugged coastline.
Beautiful stretch of mountainous bushland with hidden beaches.
Incredible scenery and easily accessible by car. Many amazing vantage points for landscape photography.
Beautiful coloured rocks and some lovely scenery.
