Roadhouse - Restaurant in Smithers, Canada
A marvelous place to be!We had a great dinner, workers are very nice!A place to go if you are in smithers.Just an advice : it is better to booked your table before!
Unpretentious restaurant with excellent taste. Enjoyed every morsel and flavour. Extremely busy on a Wednesday night so very happy I made reservations.
Great place for brunch or dinner, easily the best restaurant in town for food and service. If youre in Smithers make this one of your must dos.
Was in Smithers for a week and found this gem. Ended up eating there for dinner three times in a row. Dylan was new to bartending but took the time and learned the drinks with the help of Mary, Dallas and other colleagues. Food was amazing. I recommend their pulled pork sandwich or steak. Decor and ambiance was great as well. Awesome conversations and everyone I met was great and nice to me so will definitely go back whenever Im back in town!
I love this restaurant, the food, the service, the setting but I was very disappointed that I didn’t get a free desert for my birthday. Do better roadhouse!
All day breakfast 👍 the server we had was excellent.
Cool place to enjoy a easy going atmosphere, great food and drinks! The staff is super friendly! We spent a wonderful evening in roadhouse and its THE place to eat in smithers ;)
Had one night in Smithers and decided to get dinner at Roadhouse. The service was super quick and extremely friendly and there was a good selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes on the menu. We got the green curry and the burger with truffle fries and starters which all was very tasty. They also had Kombucha made in house, which was good, too. The prices were decent for the quality of food, the atmosphere was nice and inviting and overall we really enjoyed our dinner here.
Great service, delicious food. Lots of veggie options for BC
The pulled pork poutine here is amazing and the portion is big. I also got calamari, it was not crispy at all so I didnt enjoy them much but I did get take out. It could have been better eating it in the restaurant.
Great place in Smithers BC for drinks and food. Tried the wild mushroom soup( earthy and warm flavours), pork belly bites( sweet sesame glaze), truffle fondue burger with fries, and Moroccan Chicken soup( special). Stop by if you are in the area.
Absolutely amazing food was top knotch and the service right on par. 27 years experience cooking I usually can find something wrong but nope spot on will be back every second weekend
Great hipster food, environment, and service. Highly recommend.
So they had really great cocktails, and a huge list of mock tails which is always appreciated. My poutine was lackluster, too much low quality gravy and kinda cold. The fries were good though, wish they werent drowned. The dip trio had 2/3 good dips, but the hummus was mostly tahini. My dads steak was really well cooked and good, so 4 stars. Nice environment and the servers were nice.
First off the owners are incredible. We eneded up sitting at the bar waiting for a table. Sampling cocktails all amazing as well. That lead to a few chats with staff and the owner Moe who served us a few drinks and told us there story. Food was incredible nd the service was better then you could ask for.
I was really impressed with the cocktail menu with so many unique options. The mezcalerita was really good. The dinner menu is pretty large and has a multi-cultural theme I suppose? There is a broad range of different cuisines so its mostly fusion food. Everything tasted great but was over priced. The dragon eggs are the most interesting thing on the menu and worth trying, just expensive for what you get. The restaurant itself is huge and although they did a good effort with the decorating using local art, the feeling of the space is similar to the menu in that there is too going on. There is just no clear theme or vibe. The service was polite but pretty slow for us, although we were a group of 9.
Very very good food and drink. Would highly recommend and come again.
Very nice atmosphere. Great food. Fantastic service.
Popped in for a solo meal - service was excellent and thoughtful, waitresses were super helpful and kind. Ambience is upscale and chic and the food was hands down top 5 burgers I’ve ever head! I had the truffle burger and it was scrumptious, hot and juicy and a perfectly balanced flavour. If I lived here I would be back all the time!
Waitress was awesome, ambiance was great, but the food really fell short. We ordered the chicken & chorizo penne and it literally tasted like microwaved frozen Michelinas pasta. This was pretty disappointing as it cost $28 and took about an hour for the food to come. My friend ordered the fish tacos which were not as bad, but also pretty mediocre. Cocktails were good, but pricey.
Great food! You gotta try the shrimp po boy but ask for extra Napkins!
Great food. Our waitress was fantastic. We will be back.
Found this AMAZING restaurant last minute on a Sunday night. Reservations are recommended but we were able to get seated very quickly without one. The food was amazing, flavourful and one of a kind. There is a excellent unique non alcoholic and alcohol drink menu. The prices were affordable.
The decor is very nice. Servers were very accommodating. I absolutely loved the pottery plates made by the owner. So cool! The gin cocktail I ordered was delicious as was the Caesar my boyfriend ordered. If ordering an appy... go for the pork bites. Delicious. Its not a large serving... keep that in mind. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich with truffle fries. Truffle fries were awesome. I found the chicken on the sandwich to be super thin, some parts were no thicker than a cheese slice. While it was tasty... a thicker piece of chicken should be used to offset the heavy bun.My boyfriend ordered fries and a meatball sandwich. Again... FRIES ARE DELISH... as for the sandwich, not so much. The bread to meat ratio seemed off. The bun was very large and not enough meatballs to fill it. He said most bites were bread. Also, cutting the meatballs in half would solve the problem of the meatballs slipping out and onto the plate. He said the overall taste wasnt bad, just messy and not enough meat to fill out the sandwich. Our server was super nice tho and the restaurant is clean and inviting. Its worth a stop...if just to only have a gin cocktail 🍸
Great food and friendly waitresses. Pricy.
July 6/22. Visiting from Sidney for the second time, we are very envious of Smithers residents in having such a fine restaurant, offering great food and service. Regards: K&S
Better than expected service, excellent steak, and a very cool atmosphere.
This restaurant is wonderful! We arrived late-ish into Smithers and managed to snag a table here on short notice, and the food was exactly what I needed. Hearty, healthy, with good quality ingredients.
Anyone visiting Smithers should plan on having multiple meals at this fantastic restaurant - the owners have created a wonderful venue and you can tell that they take good care of both their staff and their customers.A full bar with innovative cocktails and local beer, a wide range of delicious dishes (try anything with the fried chickenand great appetizers (try the dinosaur eggsall with a great vibe that will keep bringing you back.
Our family stopped at the Roadhouse, and we were informed they were closed for a training event for their kitchen. As we left, we were invited to stay for breakfast anyway. We appreciated the compassion you showed by allowing us to stay. The food was absolutely amazing, and our experience exceeded our expectations. We look forward to going back next time we are in Smithers.
Loved the vibe here! The service, food and ambience was great. A bit of a wait for the food, but it was a busy night. The good was tasty and well seasoned. The truffle fries are AMAZING. Well worth a visit if in Smithers!
Disappointing experience at dinner. Burger came out rare, and replacement arrived after everyone else was finished eating. No apology, not even a discount on the bill until I mentioned it when presented with a full price check for a subpar experience. This isnt a cheap restaurant, the experience and service fell well short of the price point.Edit: We didnt get 50% off the food, we were grudgingly given 50% off the burger they messed up, still didnt get an apology!
Living in the Lower Mainland I might be far away, but a few times a year work brings me to Northern BC and I routinely time my travels around this restaurant. Its that awesome.Ive been telling my friends here at home for years about "This amazing place in Smithers", so its time I write about it.A rare find, and always a welcomed experience. Excellent, adventurous cocktails await, followed by great food served by passionate owners.A big win.
A great dining experience in Smithers! The Roadhouse served up a thoroughly enjoyable evening for our table of four. The space is impressive with beautiful art, a stylish bar, and perfect lighting. Food was on point, service was excellent, and the overall ambience was wonderful - on par with fine dining restaurants in major cities. Enjoy!
A friend plus an employee from both Bulkley and Smithers Brewery highly recommended this place and it did not disappoint! I ordered the chicken fried skillet I ordered was amazing, the restaurant was very nice and my server Nadia was absolute pleasure to deal with.
Awesome eggs benedict! I will certainly to come back to try other things on the menu
Our family has made multiple visits to Roadhouse over the past 3 summers with groups of 4 to 6 and never had a bad meal (even with the fussier members). It is unusually upscale for a small town but they do an outstanding job of offering a varied menu with something for most people, well executed and the service has always been unobtrusive, helpful and professional. I have never had such a consistently above average experience from an independent restaurant, this place could succeed anywhere.
So this 2 star review falls mostly on service issues. We placed an order online and were told that the order would be ready in 25 mins. We drove into town and when we arrived they told us that they received the order but didnt process it? So it would be another 25 mins, we passed some time wandering around Smithers. Then about 20 mins later as we were headed back we recieved a call to tell us they didnt have anymore steak for the steak salad we ordered and they we just processing our order at that time and it would be another 45 mins before it was ready! I understand the place was busy and we slipped through the cracks, but even after the hour plus we waited, even after the substitution of a chicken breast for the steak, when we finally did get our food, there was no price adjustment, no apology. It was the first time that I felt compelled to not tip at all.All this is to be taken with a grain of salt. The place was busy, we ordered online, and the food, when we did get it, was very tasty. But that level of service was just extremely disappointing, if it wasnt so late and we hadnt waited so long we would have gone to a different place. I doubt Ill try this place again.
Everything they do is fantastic! The food is outstanding, especially the pork belly bites; those brought us back, for sure. The cocktails are wonderful, the artwork is beautiful, and the service is impeccable. I will come back every time I drive through Smithers.
Service here as exceptional as the food, atmosphere would be best described as a rustic modern and the food is well cooked and has excellent flavor. While pricey for the food, I feel it more then lives up with the quality and taste.
My wife and I went for Valentines dinner last night. We were the first table of the night but by the time we left the place was full. The food was perfect, the service was perfect, the atmosphere was perfect. The manager or owner had even came up to our table to ask how everything was, she was very nice. It was a very nice night. It was our first time there and will definitely not be our last.I have been a Red Seal Chef for 15 years, and i will say again the food was perfect. Classic but still inventive and very nice to look at.I would recommend this place to anyone.
Service was very quick and friendly. Food was very good and atmosphere was excellent.
By far one of nicest looking restaurants in Smithers!Every spot of the building has had lots of thought and love. The place is beautiful, with great music to go along with it.Extremely friendly staff and service. The food is amazing, but their salads are by far the best thing on the menu. For the quality of the food, the price is perfect.Location / 4Service / 5Food / 5Price / 4.5Wait time / 4.5Vibe / 5
Rockin, Sick, Awesome, Crazy food. My wife ordered the Korean BBQ flatbread and had Posh Po-Boy. WOW. Our server was Soooooo Awesome and engaging and they have an excellent assortment of Craft Beers. Trendy and tasteful decor. Definitely a Must check it out !!!
So finally went to the roadhouse.I knew what I was going to get before I even went there (thank you online menu)they managed to screw up my order twice.their hash browns were what I expected (which I was hoping I could sub for Fruit but alas no fruit...)I couldnt try the salad that came with one of my meals because it had seeds.. (yes I had two different meals)Cant get a regular drip coffee have to get an americano or variantserver was friendly and nice & the decor was nice..but for what I paid.. I could have broken out the camp stove and did it myself properly...was kind of hoping I could/would go there for breakfasts on the weekends since the other options arent really good options either. My soft eggs Benny were hard I mentioned to the waitersss she got me a new set of eggs but she mistook what I said for how I wanted my eyes and the second set came back even harder than the original set.. needless to say left two eggs and a salad and a plateful of hashbrowns. My suggestion to them would be:1season your hashbrowns add onions and seasoning salt..2eggs labeled as soft for poached/eggs Benny should be equivalent to sunny side up if it werent poached. I.e. the yolk should be flowing all over the place upon cutting it open. (Also maybe use large eggs they really seemed small)3offer a regular drip coffee where you can have more than one cup without paying $1.50 per refill.
ACCESSIBILITY: Front entrance with two 32 inch pull doors has a 4 inch edge. Side door is accessible, depending on mobility. Tables and chairs are free standing with the exception of the bankquettes. Accessible single toilet on ground floor has assist rails.STAFF: Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.FOOD: Outstanding. Although I have had to ask for al dente pasta, and a ramen dish with an overcooked egg was a little disappointing. Aside from some small nuances in preference, this place has amazing food!COCKTAILS: Between Mo and James, you cannot go wrong. Tell them your favourite flavours and ask for a mystery cocktail. You will definitely be pleased!FOOD I HAVE TRIED:FRIED CDICKEN: excellent crisp, almost like a Korean style fried chicken. Delicious.RAMEN: Good, but ask for a soft boiled egg. The broth is the best part. The pork needs to pop, but unfortunately blends into the broth.TURKEY POT PIE: Just like Mom used buy! This is amazing! A must try.BANGERS AND MASH: The Queen herself would be pleased. A massive serving of this colonist classic is spot on.
The meal, service, ambiance... all of it was just lovely. I was on my own, out of town for work, and looking for something different, something I wouldnt be likely to order if I were closer to home and my usual standbys. Im glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something a little different. The Korean beef sandwich was delicious; the truffle French fries and aioli were a golden, crispy perfection dipped in mouth watering creamy delight. I wont be in town much longer but I will try to get back to The Roadhouse again before I go.
Came here just before 5pm on a Friday not too busy and staff greeted me right away. very open and modern style with some very nice art work. I received a water as soon as I sat down. I ordered a London Fog it was delightful and came in a very nice glass mug. The mug however was a bit heavy. For dinner I order the steak sandwich medium rare without the horse radish mayonnaise. I received instead the steak salad that they immediately offered to take back however the waitress did offer me garlic bread on the side so I decided to keep it. It was a tad overdressed with a ranch style sauce but was still quite good. The bread was soooo good. The menu caught me off guard as it was a little more uptown than I had thought it would be with a name like the road house. Although the menu is not extensive the food quality is great and the service is superb.Almost a five star experience really good place and I would recommend to others
Probably the fanciest restaurant in Smithers, BC. We sat on the upper level and the spacious restaurant felt modern, chique, casual, yet can be formal. For some odd reasons, the roasted beet salad ($12appealed to me so I ordered that and added prawns for an additional $9. The portion was a little bit disappointing as it was fairly small. However, the feta cheese, hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds, and citrus from the grapefruit and the vinaigrette was a very refreshing and nice combination.I think the pulled pork poutine is a must-order! Great to pick at and share with a friend. I did not get dessert but next time I definitely want to try the creme brulee!
Absolutely Fantastic!!Taste: 10/10Service: 8/10Cleanliness: 10/10Quality of food: 10/10Atmosphere: 8/10Portion Size: 7/10Overall experience: Definitely a come back!Pricing is reasonable, unfortunately their menu items are not listed on the website, when I called and spoke with one of the staff he informed me it may be because the menu changes monthly (great attitude on the phone as well, the staff never fails to be friendly!)Roadhouse offers daily Lunch and Dinner specials;LunchSandwich from $10Soup cup or bowl from $5DinnerEntree / Pasta from $16Prices are very reasonable, and again the taste is amazing! I was so satisfied after leaving at lunchtime, I had an absolutely mouth watering chicken burger and mushroom soup side.**See photo for following description of each itemI am not a fan of breaded or battered meals, however, this chicken sandwich served here was amazing and absolutely unbelievable as far as taste goes, I was pleasantly surprised when I took my first bite! My mind has been officially changed when it comes to breaded chickenThe sauce served on the side, when added gives your tongue a dream experienceA definite must try! Wow factor 100!The mushroom soup is something I have never tasted before as well, the originality of ingredients and flavours is second to none here! Absolutely delicious! Finally, I am a coffee fan and this is the first time I have had a cup of coffee like I had here, wonderful!Every item was more than enjoyable, served beautifully and undeniably fresh ingredients, served at perfect temperature.Roadhouse is categorically one of my favorite restaurants hands down! If I could rate higher than 5 stars, I would!Be sure to dine in the next time you visit Smithers BC!!
