Im so sad this place is closing! It was always a great dining experience and Chef Michael always came out to talk to us!

This was an amazing Brunch! I had the Southern Eggs Benedict and it was so fresh and flavorful. The eggs were perfection and the pork was tender and full of flavor, the hollandaise was what put it over the top.The southern pecan old fashioned was also excellent and all at a great value. I will definitely be back the next time Im traveling through Memphis.Keep it going Michael!! You have something very special here.

My wife and I ate at Rizzo’s this evening. The business seemed good as the restaurant filled quickly after we arrived. We both had a drink from the bar and the bourbon drink and the margarita were excellent. The server told us about the nightly special which was a pan seared duck breast in a fig reduction sauce with mashed potatoes and green beans. It sounded delicious so I ordered that and my wife had the pot pie which they are famous for. The food arrived and we dug in. The pot pie was piping hot and as exactly as great as all the reviews say it is. The duck and sauce was very flavorful but only slightly warm. The potatoes and beans were good sides and maybe very good but also just warmish. As it was a special and a good deal more expensive than most items on the menu(a tidbit I found out only after the check arrived), I expected a “hot” mouthful of deliciousness. I was disappointed. We then finished with the blueberry bread pudding. It was very good. I told the chef about my disappointment and he was “glad I brought it to his attention”. Good but not all great.

I loved the cheeseburger soup during my flying visit to this delightful restaurant. Its well placed, near the National Civil Rights Museum, Blues Hall of Fame and Arrive Memphis hotel.

I didnt expect it to be THAT expensive but the atmosphere was nice, they were nice enough to let us in without a reservation and kind to my 4 year old-a st.jude patient. But $100 for 3 meals and the appetizer, just be prepared.

I thought this would be a high end place but I was quite disappointed with the food. Good was average and nothing exceptional

Suasage & Cheese plate, lobster Pronto pups, Beef stew, Grit & Grind ball, hemp seed encrusted salmon. Always amazing. Highly recommend this place. Perfect for date night.

Heard reccomendations about Rizzos from our uber driver. Located about a block away from the grand central station hotel, we walked over for dinner. We didnt have reservations and could not immediatly get seated at a table, but there was open seats at the bar. The bar had a full selection of spirits and drinks. Staff were fun and friendly. Tried the chicken pot pie and it was amazing. After dinner, saved room for dessert and shared the blue berry bread pudding, also absolutely amazing. Portion sizes were perfect and plated nicely. Flavor profiles were outstanding. Definitely recommend, just call ahead to make sure you get a seat.

This place had an unusual menu, but that turned out to be a very good thing. The food was fantastic. The place has a cool atmosphere and service was great. Must get the goat cheese, grits ball. It is panko encrusted and lightly fried. Just fantastic. The salmon was great and the meatloaf was delicious as well. Full bar.

Went out during monthly “last friday of the month” music/jam. this place is absolutely fire. james, our server, was total character and just the belle of the night. He kept us and the other customers super entertained with his sass and his genuineness. Thoroughly enjoyed the night with our family & friends. Food, Drinks and Dessert were to die for. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO TRY THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE VISITING OR LIVING HERE IN MEMPHIS!

Food and Service is always amazing here! The Sautéed Buttermilk Shrimp and grits and Lobster pups are a must try!!! I also love the Blackened Catfish Benedict 🤤😋😋 Will add more pictures once I find them!

We had a lovely dinner on the patio. The cocktails were great - tried the bees knees and south main 75. I had the hemp encrusted salmon and it was perfect and the veggies - green beans and spinach were an excellent compliment.

Rizzo’s was on my list for a long time. Went to get brunch with my gf. We had Southern style and blackened catfish eggs Benedict. Both were absolutely delicious. We also ordered French toast which was amazing as well. One the most delicious and best brunch places in Memphis. Definitely going back to try the dinner menu.

I was in Memphis recently for a weekend getaway with my boyfriend. We heard about Rizzos from Diners Drive Ins & Dives (we love the food networkso we decided to give it a try. We went in for Sunday brunch and had the Banderas Memphis. It was AMAZING! The steak melted in your mouth, the pork belly was super crispy and seasoned to perfection, killer andouille sausage, the best grits I have ever had in my life and super fresh avocado. I could go on all day about this place. The staff was super friendly and made us feel welcome immediately. I would recommend this place to anyone who visits the Memphis area. Thank you again for the great meal Rizzos! We will definitely be back :)

Simply Amazing!!!!Bravo Chef Michael! ♡Our party of 3 enjoyed Everything!From the Grit n Grind Appetizer & Service to our 3 different Entrées!The Brisket was tender & plentiful!The Stuffed Meatloaf made my friend (visiting from Jamaicaclose her eyes & just hum in delight!My Blackened Crusted Catfish, seared to utter perfect! Oh, and the sides of Green Beans, Kale, German Slaw, & "Pasta Rice" w/garlic sauce are mouthwatering! The cherry on top was a table-side chat with the chef himself!!! #welldone! 🥂

We had a great brunch here - the menu is creative; food was excellent; value was good; staff was friendly and attentive.The restaurant is well located in a cool part of town.The outdoor seating area is well shaded and comfortable - you can even see the National Civil Rights Museum.It was a comfortable brunch - our server was friendly, attentive, and gave us good space.As an added bonus, Chef Michael Patrick came by to say hi - very friendly and down to earth.Great all around experience.

My friends and I had the best brunch experience! We ordered quite a few different things off the menu and all cleared our plates/took to go food. Lobster Pronto Pups are a definite must have appetizer. Service was amazing! I’ll definitely be back when I return home!

Went for the first time for brunch. Not what was expected. The place was so hot and humid it spoiled the experience. Thinks he’s a Gordon Ramsey. Gordon Ramsey would have sent the pork dishes back. Sheer mush on soggy English muffins. No real flavor. Too much fat. Needs to rethink and not try so hard to be different.

The pot pie was good but if youre not into pot pies I wouldnt get it. The lobster appetizer was delightful. The peach cobbler needed more peaches. But it was good. A solid four!

The food wasnt great. They had a limited menu and so was the flavor of the food. It was overpriced. The shrimp and grits had a bitter taste. Also, they charged our card 3 times. Over $300 dollars. None of the amounts were for our ticket. We called to get them to take it off and correct it and they to their time and removed one. We still had our receipt and had to go to our bank to resolve it.

Had dinner at Rizzo’s last week. The food was outstanding. The shrimp and grits were the best . Chef stopped by and talked with us. The ambiance is great, feel like a neighborhood bar and restaurant. Outstanding food. I can’t forget the lobster appetizer and the blueberry white chocolate bread pudding.

Dont be intimidated by the price - the food is delicious and high quality! I can tell these folks actually care about the food they are putting out. My salad was crisp and fresh, our entrees came out hot and everything was seasoned to perfection. The whole menu is very unique and it was a great experience. Love the vibe. Good place for a romantic date fellas.

Just one word AMAZING!!!!This was our first time coming to Rizzo’s and I will say it was incredible from our super attentive waiter to the delicious food that the whole table was raving about.We all (party of 7)ordered different items an each and every single one of the dishes tasted great.The desserts were all great but the winner was the blue berry bread pudding! The whole table votes for it to be #1. Nevertheless all of them were so good that we did not even took a picture of them. *My husband adored his chocolate mousse.I could go on and on about how amazing our dinner was but just go and try it for yourselves.

Best meal since leaving Utah a month ago. Right next to civil rights museum. Small quaint classic foody kinda place. Chef visited with each table during brunch;?love was in the food. Excellent!!! Great service with Chris. Creative well prepared dishes with real plates and silverware.

We wish we would have found this restaurant the first night we were visiting Memphis so we could have eaten here a second timeThe service was fabulous! We had January as a server and she was great and always checking back on us . The chef also stopped by to ensure everything was perfectNow onto the food . I had butter shrimp with grits and my husband had the chicken pot pie - both were delicious . The bread pudding was to die for !!We highly recommend this restaurant

Had a wonderful Sunday brunch. A limited menu, but the Brisket Sandwich and Andoullie & Grits were amazing. Highly recommend.

Horrible service ...missing three menu items no substitutions on sides. When asked for manager owner came out and berated us and bemoaned about lacking staff and ability to order. No consideration on us as a customer. I would actually recommend staying away. Not friendly and not arrive oriented.Lets be clear the owner and chefs response is clearly indicative of the level of concern and service his establishment is geared towards. The waitress was exemplary specifically faced with the challenges of how she was being manged. Regardless if the chef and owners commentary the reality is this restaurant is in a customer service industry where execution and satisfaction is there reality.I would encourage my followers and anyone reading this review to take at face value and see the response which proves the review. Thank you all and find a much better place to enjoy your eveningI will also state for the record the owner is trying to obfuscate the issue by indicating we had issue with the server. The issue was with the lack of food and his response to said complaint.

Here’s another top notch restaurant folks!! I ordered the AWARD WINNING Chicken Pot Pie!!! And it was absolutely deserving of any award that comes its way!!! The Chicken Pot Pie had pulled chicken, Andouille Sausage, Mixed Vegetables and a flaky, buttery Puff Pastry on the top!! I will NEVER eat regular chicken pot pie again!! That’s a promise huney!! I also ordered the Slow Roasted Beef Brisket served with Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Brisket Demi and Roasted Brussel Sprouts. The brisket was tender and the potatoes were cooked to perfection!! It was even better the next day!! The last entree I ordered was the Sautéed Buttered Shrimp served with a White Wine Butter Sauce, Cheddar Grits and Sautéed Spinach. Everything was deliciously perfect!! PERFECT!!

My husband and I were visiting from Dallas and wanted to get away from the Beale Street scene/ restaurants in that area, Rizzos was absolutely perfect. Great service and atmosphere, not super fancy/stuffy but high quality and classy. Food was amazing- best meal Ive had in a long time. Creative pairings, good size portions and very flavorful. I heard two other tables say similar things who had different meals. The chef even made rounds to make sure everything was to customers liking. Only recommendation, move to Dallas. A must go!

I decided to give this place a second chance. This time was for brunch and I have to say it was delicious. I had the scramble egg and my friend the catfish Benedict’s which were delicious. Our drinks were fantastic and the bread pudding was incredibly tasty without being too sweet. Service was great too.

Great service as usual! Adam was attentive but not pushy. Food is good but I would not say great anymore, seemed to be lacking essential seasonings like salt and pepper in more than one dish/side.

Entrees are generous in size, innovative takes on traditional plates and full of flavor. We had the chicken pot pie, meatloaf and veggie plate and they were all delicious. The bread pudding is also amazing, we had it to go since we were so full. Adam our server was helpful with suggestions, efficient (he was the only server on a Monday nightand friendly. Covid precautions taken seriously and this is the first restaurant I have felt comfortable eating inside in this year.

Some of the best food and service on this side of the Mississippi! You have to try the pot pie and meatloaf! Tell all of your closest friends.

The perfect place for descent priced Sothern restaurant. Innovated interior has a taste to the atmosphere, good for both date and group dinner. Located at little off of central downtown, but will give a good walk in the area. I had a shripm and sauce & grits tasted great! Not to mention a loaded crawfish in it. Dessert I had was a little over sweetened, Id go for a bread pudding the next time. I will definitely be back for their food. The service was friendly as well.

Had a great meal. Friendly staff. Randi was our server and she hit it out of the park. We started with the Sasage and cheese plate and the Cheeseburger soup (OMG), then moved on to the Veggie Plate, the Chicken Pot Pie (ridiculously good), and my favorite the CHORIZO MEATLOAF!!! Dessert was on point, we had all three, the Strawbery Cake, the Sour Cream Cheesecake, and the Bluberry Bread Pudding. The cake was incredible, just the right crumb to the cake and the sauce was spot on , and I am not a fan of strawberry cake but I am now. The cheesecake was NOT the dense brick I have come to expect when dining out. It was reminiscent of a NY cheesecake, light, creamy, perfect. The Bread pudding.... do yourself a favor and go there now. It is that good. I couldnt put the spoon down. Yes we took the leftovers home. Lunch todays was fantastic. Thank you to the staff at Rizzos.

Good food, friendly service, cool atmosphere. Some of the food could use some salt. Im not even a big salt user but it really needed it.

We had our department holiday lunch here and it was wonderful! I had a very nice mixed greens starter salad with a sweet but very light dressing. The main meal was salmon on a bed of spinach with mango dressing. Dessert was their famous bread pudding yum yum yum yum 😋. Match that wonderful food with excellent and friendly service and you have a big winner in my book!

Took my wife here on date night. Atmosphere was fairly romantic and warm. Food was pretty good. Me and my wife ordered the fillet mignon. I asked for medium and it came out rare. I dnt mind rare so it was still a win. Steak could have been a tad more flavored and was kind of on the bland side. The sauces on the steak were not too bad if youre a fan of avacodo and pico de gallo. We had dessert and it was very delicious! Chocolate cake is to die for. Definitely will come back.

Came in for a late lunch on Saturday and really enjoyed our meal. Everything was delicious and even though we were all full I was told to try the bread pudding. It was so incredible we cant stop thinking about it. We will be back for sure! So great the chef comes out to check on everybody and the whole staff was friendly and fun.

This was my first time at Rizzos. I enjoyed the tacos. I forgot to take a pic of it but these drink was delicious AND made me sleep all night. Its a pecan uh, something. I will visit Rizzos again soon.

A super friendly local recommended this place. We tried it and were not disappointed. The atmosphere is comfy meets chic. The building and decor are both simple and beautiful. Our server, Randi, was so friendly and kind and gave some great recommendations.The brisket po boy was delish! Super messy but worth every napkin! Those pickled onions made that whole sandwich for me! And that bread pudding is worth the four hour drive back to Memphis for us!! Hats off to Chef Michael Patrick! He deserves a mouth kiss for that bread pudding! No joke. Too good!!! Well definitely be back next time were in town!

The crab cake with remoulade was excellent. The "award winning" chicken pot pie left a bit to be desired. The pan seared scallops were seasoned and cooked perfectly 👌.

Enjoyable meal even if I was in a hurry. I reached this place by recommendation and did not disappoint. Good attention, nice quiet ambience, lots of southern options for entrees and starters. The chorizo meatloaf was spectacular and it was really cheap and the chef himself came to ask how everything was. Will pass on the recommendation.

Great food. Must try. In the South Main area of town. One of the best sausage and cheese trays I have had. The Duck was awesome. Wife had the Hemp Encrusted Salmon. Very tasty.

Words cannot describe how good Michael Patricks food is. He is my favorite chef in Memphis!

My overall dining experience at Rizzos was less than anticipated. I started my meal with a bowl of cheese burger soup. For my entree I decided to have their signature dish the chorizo meat loaf with mashed potatoes and broccolini.I was greeted by the hostess at the front door. She was very polite and seated me quickly in the main dining room.The cheese burger soup enticed all of my culinary senses from start to finish. The serving size was well proportionate and fulfilling. My only concern with the soup it was not as warm as i would have preferred when served. This would have been the perfect comfort food to knock off the chill of the cold Memphis day.The main entree chorizo meat loaf, mashed potatoes, and broccolini. The meat loaf was off the Richter scale for as the flavor and texture, however the serving size was small size does matter. The broccolini was tender but bland lacked comfort food favor. The mashed potatoes paired well with the chorizo meatloaf but were cold. I informed my server my food was cold and she gave me the deer in the head lights stare.The temperature in Memphis was around the mid 20s outdoors and in Rizzos dining room was just as cold. I find it a little difficult to enjoy good comfort food in a freezing dining room.I only went here because Rizzos was featured on an episode on the food network channel. Im sure chef put his all into preparing the meal for the television host i just ask the chef to do the same for me and Ill be more than willing to give you 5 stars. Because the chorizo meatloaf was the highlight of my meal I will visit again. Turn up the heat on the grill and dining room.

Incredibly friendly staff and the food is heavenly. Head chef (Michaelcame to greet and check on us multiple times. Phil the bartender is awesome. Get the rack of lamb; its like a warm cuddle. The bread pudding was on the house since it was or anniversary dinner.
