Eastern Pavilion, Barrack Square, Barrack St, Perth WA 6000, Australia, Perth
Casual room for full breakfasts, share plates and cafe staples, plus outdoor seating over the water.
We were in Perth recently and had breakfast here two days in a row and could not fault anything. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the meals were great and a terrific location looking over the river. If in Perth definitely make time to visit here.
Excellent service by all staff. Conveniently booked a table through Google Maps. Perfect atmosphere. Awesome coffee and breakfast.👍
Amazing food and service, cheers Brodie! ☺️
I had eggs Benedict, was the best I’d ever had. Also got a chai late and that was suburb.Definitely go back.
Visited on a whim today, just to have a Cold Beer on a warm day. Whilst enjoying a River view.Well the Beer was Cold at least. The view was good, do long as you didnt look down.Being placed between two Jettys doesnt help the Water flow. So its Brown and skanky. The Seagulls and Pigeons were having a fine time with uncleared tables. And the place wasnt busy, so the waiters werent overstretched.I will be back to try the Food and have another Beer one day.
Decent coffee and scrambled eggs. Staff were efficient, friendly and understanding for our party of 20+ ppl
Just had Father’s Day breakfast. Totally blissed out after a great meal! Waffles were sublime. Bacon incredible. Sometimes food is next level, and today at this cafe was one of those days!
Took 40mins to get our food, food was cold as well as our hot beverages. Probably due to under staffed unfortunately. However amazing location.
I went into this Cafe to purchase a snack before going on a cruise. I had already purchased a takeaway coffee from another Cafe, but they didnt have a food option I wanted. When I ordered for my husband and I, the man shamed me for bringing another business coffee into his shop. I was purchasing food for 2 from his shop anyway and it didnt have a name on the coffee cup! I felt embarrassed. But to boot, the cake I had purchased for myself was not very nice anyway. Carrot cake should have cream cheese icing. The cake part of it was also overly sweet. Usually carrot cake is a healthier option for cakes.
So polite, great coffee, ver helpful with order
First time here for brunch. Was busy on a Saturday just before 11. I had the Riverside Grande, everything was nice except my tomato wasnt cooked enough but I should have specified when ordering that I like it well cooked. Son had smashed avo with poached eggs and I gave him my hash brown. He said everything was delicious. We both had an iced coffee which were nice but they didnt have a decaf version which I get at most other cafes. Service was good and place seemed clean and you have the option to sit inside or out. We would go back again!
Had fish and chips, beautiful, affordable and came out so quickly. The waiter Bryan was so helpful and nice!
The place was so nice and the people from the coffee amazing. They were so kind with us
A lovely cafe for our breakfast before heading over to Rottnest Island. From the moment we entered, we were make to feel very welcome. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our meals were delicious-especially loved the homemade Hash Browns! Coffee and hot chocolate were great. Thank you. See you again next time
I visited a couple of times. It can get VERY busy but the looks of it, but its definitely worth visiting if youre not in a rush. I had the scrambled eggs on today with bacon & mushrooms as a late breakfast. Very tasty & decent sized portion (neither too little nor too much). If/when Im back in Perth, Ill definitely be making a stop here again.
Absolutely beautiful food and service was so homely and kind !
Stopped here lunchWait was 40 minutes for food and they were closing at 13:30. We arrived at 13:20.So some fruit smoothies and cake which were alright.AdditI accept that the industry is struggling with staffing. But I didn’t advocate they remove masks and the obvious impact this would have on business. This is only wave 1 of Covid and if you think staffing is an issue now wait will we reflect the experiences of the rest of the world! If your business doesn’t change to this new reality then this sorry tale will repeat itself.
Beautiful location. Great service and the food was excellent. I shall return
Perfect Eggs Benedict and very nice coffee. Was a great start to our day!
Service was fantastic, all staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food was very nice, good size serving.
During our morning walk we stopped in for breakfast. Wearing a Richmond Tigers footy jumper I was looked at and jokingly asked to leave lol Great food, coffee and atmosphere was had. A big thank you to the staff. Will be back again for sure.
Anzac Day brekkie. This ranks as one of the worst breakfasts I have had in a long time. Smashed Avo with poached eggs. Avo was a purée, eggs weren’t cooked with the whites still raw. Very underwhelming.
We are from out of state, and the lady Shannon that looked after us here today was so kind and attentive. She really made us feel relaxed and welcome, as if she really does care about her job. We were in a rush and she was more than happy to find out what time our food would be ready if we ordered and it was exactly on time. It all worked out perfectly.Coffee’s tasted great too, and the food was amazing, especially the special sauce on the smash avo. All round great experience.
Stopped by again for the best ham, cheese and tomato toasted sandwich and a side of yummy chips washed down with a cup of their consistently good coffee. As locals and regulars that like to drop by Riverside often, I dont understand why people are complaining about the owners we have only ever found them friendly and welcoming along with their lovely staff. Is it because youre not getting what you want or your own attitudes are receiving the responses they may deserve! Chill peeps theres enough hate and anger in this world. Treat people as you want to be treated.
WARNING! Don’t eat here. Breakfast was horrible (eggs on toast and big breakfastand also overpriced for the quality and quantity of the food. We waited over 50 minutes for food to be served and was extremely disappointed. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Would rate it zero if i could. Staff member was so incredibly rude to us!YOU ARE THE LIAR! My husband was waiting to be served before those women and they ignored him. My husband DID check in at 12.59pm. Check your register. Ask your waiter. We spoke to him as we were doing it. Why was that even an issue? Your arrogance maybe.... Looking for a fight nodoubt. You do not belong in that industry. We will tell everyone to avoid your business. Great business management!
We had breakfast here twice. Both times excellent. Our first visit was rushed as we were catching the Rottnest Ferry. Our food came out quickly, hot and delicious scrambled eggs. Next morning, much more leisurely. Staff on both occasions were fantastic, very friendly and efficient. Their fresh squeezed orange juice is to die for. Thanks for a great experience.
Update: at no point did we suggest there was an issue with language. It was the tone and mannerism in which we were spoken to.Our coffee and milkshake was lovely today, however, our experience was let down by the food and service. I ordered the Salmon Benedict ($24 - pictured below). Unfortunately, the eggs were over cooked and the hollandaise was tasteless. When I spoke to the waitress, I was told “but the dish has sauce” in response to the eggs being over cooked. While I did eventually receive a refund, the poor service is what has resulted in this review. I wasn’t rude about the meal, however, I was spoken down to like a child by the waitress.I do thank the General Manager for refunding my meal though.
My friend and I visited this morning whilst staying overnight at nearby hotel. Great location but thats the only positive. We both ordered scrambled eggs with our breakfast however both of us could taste plastic with a strange consistency as seen. I asked what I thought was a nearby waitress if she could ask kitchen to try our eggs as they didnt taste, look or smell right. Thats when things got worse I was confronted by her and her husband? Who started telling at us telling us to F off and leave!!! I was not yelling or rude and have never been so shocked and disgusted in all my life...AVOID this place like the plague this kind of service or defensive rude behaviour does not deserve anyones business.***UPDATE***What absolute lies...there were no other customers??? My friend and I were the only ones sitting outside? Would you like me to post photos and a video I took?? Just admit you were rude and unprofessional instead of lying and placing the blame game....There are lots of other negative comments from the same day I visited are we ALL liars??? You are a piece of work
I have NEVER written a bad review but I am so disappointed and so disheartened by the quality of the food and the service and refusal to accept that we had an issue with the food. The steak we ordered was terrible it looked and tasted like it had been defrosted in the microwave for too long and quickly put over the grill and the Burger was terrible. We were told that we were wrong about the food and that it was acceptable because the chips looked fine. Our complaint fell on deaf ears, no refund for the food we didnt eat, not even a part refund just an offer of a free drink. Not impressed. I worked in hospitality for 6 years and never served food of that quality. I do not recommend this venue.
Got a long black and a soy latte, and had to pay extra dollar each for take away which is pretty rude.. coffee was meant to be $4.20 for long black and $5 for soy latte, ended up paying $11.20! Coffee wasnt great either! Will definitely not come back...
We had a nice breakfast here while waiting for the cruise to Fremantle. Convenient location, right next to the pier. Owner/staff are friendly and helpful. Great food too! Enjoyed the riverside grande
Great Place and location. Food Ok quite overpriced for what they dish up but Perth has always been expensive compared to other states. Staff nice and friendly !!!
I’m so sorry, I would’ve loved to give this place more.. but the service.. was terrible. The staff were lightly apologetic about the 45 minute wait on a simple two poached eggs on toast.. reference the image to see how many people were actually there..The cook.. sloppy and tired.. more of a “I can’t wait to go home” work ethic our table of 3 noticed rather than a cozy enjoyable atmosphere you’d expect at a city cafe/restaurant.
Resident of the Towers went for there for the first time. We had a heavy brunch of scotch fillet and barramundi. It was so salty and we hadn’t even added any salt and pepper provided yet. Great coffees by the way.
Amazing service and very willing to please as well as being safe. The best bit was the food I got the steak sandwich and I have to say it was one of the best Ive ever had the meat was perfect and tender no chewing or taking a bite and pulling out half the filling just great, and the flavour wow. My mum had the cheeseburger which she loved she said " burger 8/10, chips 10/10. Definitely would recommend.
Stopped here this morning for a late breakfast whilst walking around the river.Food is fantastic - we had smashed Avo, and fruit toast. Great coffee as well and the service is awesome.
had breakfast here - views are good, service great and the food was even better
Went there on a Friday evening and was surprisingly quiet. Food was good and view of the swan river was great. We got the pork belly and the steak sandwich.
Great location, food was tasty although a bit small. The coffee was tasty.
A real gem - great service and delicious food!My husband and I popped to Riverside Café for a spontaneous mid-week lunch and had such a lovely time. We were impressed by the friendly and attentive service. Portion sizes were generous - our steak sandwiches were cooked to perfection - and the coffees were great.I like the fact you can choose from an array of different eating areas and we were very happy to sit outside and soak up the winter sunshine. Next time, Id like to return to try dinner there and enjoy the sunset - I think with the view of the water it would be just perfect. Highly recommended.
I liked that place and there is this 50% off food deal if you use TheFork at the moment and it is worth it. The food is good, with a generous portion. My personal favourite is the pork belly which was cooked twice, tender meat with a crackling top. The slaw had the right balance of sweetness and acidity. The location is also worth mentioning, right next to the river with amazing view. The customer service was ok too.
Went to the riverside cafe for Mother’s Day breakfast, had a great breakfast all meals were cooked well and were hot. Sat outside on the outside decking with a view of the river which was nice and they had outdoor heating. Customer service was fantastic. Great servers and not a long wait time for food. Will visit again.
The burger was juicy and tasty, I liked the light local beer and the outdoor seating area.Staff were extremely kind.
Lovely view at this place. Food smell so delicious when it was brough to our table, couldnt wait to dig in. Beef burger was quite delicious, chips cooked to perfection but the fish was a let down. Not only was the fish "flavourLESS", it wasnt fully cooked either as the batter was still a little wet and sticky. Even the table next us was feeding back to the staff about their fish & chips being "undercooked" (as I overheard). Despite the little let down on food, all staff here were very friendly all the way through which was lovely.
Had dinner here last night with my friends. It was on a Dimmi 50% off voucher so we were a little sceptical about the quantity or quantity of food. The service was good any questions was quickly relayed to the kitchen.Drinks were good too.Food was ok. Steak was cooked as requested. It was heavily flavoured which makes me wonder.Anyway, we enjoyed ourselves.Won’t be coming back for dinner. Have heard good things about breakfast here so we will have to try that next time.
Upmarket cafe by the waters at the jetty that served delicious food. Tried the risotto with mushroom ragout, pan seared barramundi and mushroom arancini. All beautifully plated and well done. Paired with a refreshing glass of hunky dory white wine, you get a very satisfying lunch indeed!
Nice place with river view. Good coffee with nice selection of deserts. Nice and friendly staff.
Delicious breakfast, the poached eggs with smashed avocado & the poached eggs bearnaise with salmon were very good. Coffee ok but could have been a bit hotter. The water views are an obvious plus making this cafe a fairly nice place to start your day.
Went on a Friday evening around 7 pm. It is not just a cafe, it is actually a bar and restaurant. I am not sure about the food but the view is pretty good from the deck.
