River Walk - Tourist attraction in Hancock, United States
Beautiful, serene.
Pleasant walk along Housatonic River . But the walks are too separated to do contiguously and each of the three legs are quite short.
Nice.
NICE AND COOL TODAY
Iredale Co. no good for me: in 90% we have an order to make a pickup there and its not ready
Sweet scene in fall, could see how to get upstream access, so just go south to green truss bridge
The entrance is hard to find, but the trail is very beautiful with the river view!
What a surprise to find this riverwalk in downtown Great Barrington. It is a calm oasis just steps off Main Street. The short walk keeps you about 20 feet above the Housatonic with view and sound of rapids. It is also an engineeting historical site, just across from where the first AC electric distribution station ran in 1886.
Nice, scenic river
This Riverwalk is quite nice with unique man-made enhancements. Brief and beautiful.
Beautiful, short ealk
Nice quiet walk but short. It was easy pushing our sons wheelchair. Informative signs on trees and history helpful, especially the info on DuBois.
Great walk along the Housatonic Rivet. The new section takes you behind Searles Castle
Peaceful departure from the bustle of Great Barringtons business district. Entrances can be a bit hard to spot but as soon as youre on the path its as if the town doesnt exist.
Another nice afternoon in Great Barrington on a May Sunday. So many grand buildings to take in on a stroll as well as artistic boutiques.#Very pretty walk along the river in a fun town, especially on an Autumn day.
There are ticks EVERYWHERE. on this path. My dog and our shoes were covered today after a walk
Such a beautiful walk and peaceful. Not a hard walk and easy for most to complete. Loved reading about the history and especially William Dubois trailblazing civil rights leader whose birth place was Great Barrington Ma.
We grabbed a coffee and then we walked the river walk. Its short but worth a visit. Beautiful scenery. We made a mistake of bringing a stroller, but once you scale the steps the actual walk is easy. I dont know if there was a ramp access, but I didnt see it along the walk.
Short and broken up, less of a walk than a spot to enjoy some river views
Beautiful, well-maintained and peaceful
Holy riddled with poison ivy, Batman. Worth it two face a nice walk through nature. Or should I say waddle like a penguin through GBs under belly. Better in the summer, Mr.. freeze in the winter. Good to see some robins too.
Nice little walk. It could use some maintenance and hopefully expansion
Peace.
Im not from the area and this was a bit disappointing as a spontaneous stop because it took longer to find/park than walk it. Parking was difficult to find because a bridge was closed and the other area (an old school across from a basketball courtmarked as parking on the trail map is no longer available. The walk is really walking along the river edge at a distance while still being surrounded by buildings and residential houses. There is a short (5 minwalk section surrounded by trees closer to the river which was nicer. Afterward we drove to Fountain Pond down the street for a more natural walk.
Nice short walk
Loved that they labeled many of the trees and flowers. Short, easy, peaceful walk. Learned a little bit about W.E.B. Du Bois and William Stanley Jr., the inventor.
This was just a short walk along the rivers edge and residential area in Great Barrington. There wer a couple informational signs along the walk.
Short walk but interesting
The rushing river, the green canopy, and the cooler temperatures make this short series of walkways a refreshing retreat right in town.
Beautiful hike
A fun and beautiful place to adventure.
É uma trilha curta mas com belas vistas.
Very nice easy relatively short walk. Worth doing once
Must of great barrington! Lovely nature walk and a much needed change of pace from the bustle of town!
Lovely in all seasons flat short one mile round trip walk along the river. Park at the end of Park Street in Stockbridge and cross the foot- bridge over the Housatonic River. Follow the dirt path on your left immediately after you get off the bridge. Enjoy.
Picturesque
Serenely beautiful
So peaceful
Short, but delightful! We loved this quiet hideaway, especially with the glorious fall foliage! It will only take a short time, but will leave a sweet memory for young and old alike.
Simply put, phenomenal.
Nice peaceful place...away from all the noise and traffic. Real wildlife siting is possible too..
I wanted to mention how clean the area was. Good job to parks department.
Sweet short walkway. Wish there was access to the river.
Nice local historic and scenic attraction. Park on Main St near Rite Aid where first entrance to the walk is located. Other entrances and parking are available on Dresser Ave, Church St and Bridge St.
