96 River Oaks Center Dr, Calumet City, IL 60409, United States, Chicago Heights
Down-to-earth mall with clothing & footwear retailers, plus department stores & a food court.
My husband and I went to Macys River Oaks mall because they had a great sale on coats and boots. We found what I was looking for. The female sales person in the shoe department was very helpful and nice. It wasnt as crowded as I thought it would be. I paid for my items and we left the store safely.
Best Mall ive been to in a long time!!! Lots of shoe options!!
I’m here every week, not many stores tho
This Mall is so dangerous, I heard there was a shooting on the news where the security guard got shot. So DO NOT TAKE ANYONE TO RIVER OAKS MALL.
Great stores and a very nice atmosphere
The mall is in great need of modernization!
This is one sad place every store has just about left the mail if it was for jcpenny and Macys I wouldnt go there at all.
One of the few brick and mortar stores left
Great mall! Better selection of shoes & clothing. Things we may not have on the Westside I can find there.
Exact Time watch and jewelry repair are my preferred place in the mall.
Like this mall cause it was close to where I live, then I went to one of my favorite stores that I love in the mall I am all shopping at this store either online or the store.
They have plenty stores to choose from, good shopping
Its very big but empty, very few stores are their.
Havent been in this mall since I was a kid, but it feels like HOME! Bring your children, your wits, your phone and shop smart! Be patient!
Nothing like the old River Oaks but still a good place too shop.
This place has may 10 stores left inside.
Macys is the go to store here, and a particular manager named Ilesia Lewis is the greatest of all!!! Shes amazing!!!
man somebody could be running out a store with merchandise they stole, guess who’s gonna catch them? not security
Not a lot of stores! Its not like it used to be
Havent been in this mall since I was kid, but it feels like HOME! Bring your children, your wits, your phone (to TEXT HOME TO 741741 for immediate crisis counseling). Dont be afraid to BARK (call/text988 if you encounter a mental health crisis! I went to Macys I did get excellent service, but the mall is sad.
I gave River Oaks 4 stars because it wasn’t crowed on a Saturday afternoon. Kinda sad for the vendors but on a brighter note there’s a place called Ruby’s Soul food there that has some of the best souls food that I’ve tasted in a long long time. I think that I would go there just for her food!
Macys is the only store worth shopping in now.Im wondering when they are going to shut the mall down.
This place use to be THE SPOT in the 90s early 2000s but the world changes everything. Its stores inside but barely. Still holding on but oh, I wish times was the same YEARS ago..
I havent felt safe even going there in 5 years but I did drive by it yesterday no shots were fired!
Good, got a few deals from Pink theyre having a good sale.
Cool place to spend the weekend. It’s so sad that lots of stores don’t stay open too long…
I did curbside at jcp. Parking lot is a little weird and ppl park however they want. Curbside spot was taken by a customer who was shopping inside. The lady who brought my curbside order was friendly and professional
Went to Pennys! Only store I ever go to. Its sad the mall is in such a horrible state!
They have a vending machine here that sells very good quality Malaysian hair by the bundle
Very clean mall, good for exercise. Its my favorite mall. Since the plaza was torn down. Hop it stays and open more restaurant in food court.
I am pretty happy with the place I shopped at. The shopping experience I had, turned out to be very fruitful and enjoyable.😊
Queen Nicole was Everything. She knew all about my suicide drink order before the words came out of my mouth. All flavors NO DIET.Amazing service. We will back soon.TONIGHT BEFORE CLOSING.Thank you.
It is still surviving. I can’t believe they made Sears go bankrupt. Somebody made lots of money.
I went to JCPENNEY to pick-up an order. I wanted to use Curbside pick-up. They claimed they had one. Yet no one ever answered the app when I got there and parked in the spot for pick-up. I had to go inside and wait in Iine to get my order. When I got to the counter the clerk just laughed and said I guess its not working again. When I was leaving the store I noticed a few other people complaining about the Curbside pick-up service at that store.
They really need to spruce it up and do a real good deap cleaning around the property. Its horrible. Gum all over the side walk garbage everywhere. Its in a really good spot. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THIS PLACE, and push to get more businesses. So many malls are dying, dont let this one get away!!!!
The river oaks mall is too dry as of late. Macys, Victoria secret, bath and body works dont have enough product, or customer service attrndant to provide a good shopping experience.
The store selections have fallen off over the years. I like Macys and the kids clothing store because they have school uniforms, but its very basic, and cheap after that.
Im old enough to remember when it opened. It was wonderful and the "rocking chair" theater on the other side of Torrence was the best. Like Calumet City itself, the mall is in a death spiral. Pretty depressing. How long before it goes the way of Lincoln Mall?
Glad I moved out of Illinois state including calumet city was going downhill in 2004 due to crime I grew up in calumet city until everyone comes in and want to ruin everything that used to be calumet city I honestly think the whole area is done just like harvery even though I never lived in harvery now its its like harvery you dont dare walk in the middle of the night in calumet city
This mall is desired and needed in this community. Inasmuch, the mall could use some additional upscale stores that are equipped with desirables rather than junk. Also, a constant, good cleaning of the entrance door glass and the grounds would be an added attraction. Old chewing gum spots upon the entrance ways are so unattractive. Why not invest in our neighborhood just as Homewood, Orland, Tinley and or Merrillville?
The mall has really gone down over the years. Makes me wonder with all of the vacancies, how long will it remain open. In any event, didnt have to deal with any crowds of any kind, and was able to go right in and find what I was looking for.
There are very few stores but they do have Macys and JC Penney. Both are a good size and are always well stocked. They also have a few places for gym shoes and sports clothing.
A shadow of what it was 15-20+ years ago. Macys is nice, FYE is oddly well stocked, everything else is pretty bad. Should honestly get sold or torn down, its an eye sore that has been the center of a lot of violent crime in recent times.
Pleasant experience, not to crowded. JC Penney and Macys are running at full strength. There are several small shops functioning as well. Food court is operating and the mall temperature is cool. Security guards were present but not imposing. Simple mall not really elaborate but great deals if you look around. Diverse customer base as well.
My fiance wanted a few pair of gym shoes and not one store had her size shoe. The employees were lounging around and just not into doing their job. It was a little annoying. This mall has definitely changed from when I was a young girl. I rarely come here and I dont think Ill be coming back.
So much has changed here in 11 years. Most of the anchor stores are gone as are a good chunk of the in-line tenants and the food court. I would not recommend visiting the small unless you absolutely have to or want to shop at Macy’s, which seems like a pretty nice store on its own.
We had a suprise party at Smart Chill Cafe for our daughters birthday. The staff was very attentive in making sure we had everything we needed!
The time I had there was awful its wasnt crowded but there werent much choices of retailers for such a big city. The feeling there was unsafe.
Its an okay mall if youre bored and just want to walk around with friends. They have some nice stores to buy clothes like New York and Company (business casual attireor Too Cute (party, cute outfits). There are also a couple of shoe stores that sell snapbacks and sports related apparel. Also there is a small arcade and candy/cereal store that was recently opened so that makes the place a lot more appealing for younger people! Other than that unfortunately the mall is pretty dead. Too many stores get closed down constantly. And the food court is sub par. Alot of the restaurants there were shut down as well. Another thing to watch out for is fights! Many kids come here to fight and I rarely see security there. I go at least once a month but have stopped due to fights, lack of things to do. Oh and if youre looking to lease a cart or kiosk to start your business up, they usually offer many spots scattered around the mall. Still you might want to consider opening a business there with the influx of people that come mainly to hang out rather than spend (from my personal observations).
