Rīts, restorāns - Restaurant in Jūrmala, Latvia
This is my favourite breakfast place in Riga, friendly and well mannered staff and good quality of breakfast. The last time I had their breakfast was Feb 2020, unsure if it survived during the pandemic. Definitely worth a try if they’re still open!
No idea why google says the place is closedThey simply movedGood tasty foodGazpacho and tuna with fresh wasabiShort wine list by the glass (and not great)Nice terrasse ..very big
I visited this place with my boyfriend two years ago. It was our first time in Latvia and this restaurant made us feel just like home although we just happened to stumble upon this jewel of a restaurant. It is truly superb in any way imaginable: food, decor, people, atmosphere and service! We wish we could have you guys just around the corner like we did at our hotel. One of the reasons, we miss Latvia so much! I genuinely hope you have been doing alright during corona. Gladly it didnt exist back then when we were there. Greetings from Germany:)
This place looks great and the waiter we had was a really nice guy. When it comes to the food most of it tasted pretty good. Some of the courses needed at bit more seasoning though. But the duck we had was a real pleasure to eat. I think its a good stop for a lunch.
My girlfriend and I came here after a visit in the museum. We did not have a reservation, but the super friendly staff got us a table anyway. The food was out of this world. I had done research beforehand and read the reviews - I can only agree with this place being a “must-visit” when in Riga. We will definitely come back!
Cosy restaurant with stylish interior. Great food and attentive waiters. Recommend.
Delicious dinner, fantastic service and lovely ambience. We loved being here and cant wait to return!
We have been experiencing Riga for the Christmas holiday. The staff, the meal and the drinks were the best we have enjoyed. Truly amazing. Riga is full of amazing restaurants people and food but I cannot recommend a better dining experiencing than the Riits.
The best meal I had in Riga! First a lovely duck filet and for dessert the Latvian Creme Brulee paired with their own black currant liqueur. It was, hands down, the best thing I have ever tasted.Great staff, great atmosphere and Ill be dreaming of the meal for years to come. Thank you!
Compared to some of the places to eat in Riga, this is a rather small place. But compared to some of the places to eat in Riga, this is also a fantastic place! The food here is superb, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. A reservation could be a good idea, but you can always try your luck. If you like your meat a bit closer to medium than to rare, be sure to order medium instead of medium-rare. Would surely recommend this place as a “must-visit” place in Riga!
Sun dried tomatoes in eggs benedict. Genius and that was only the beginning.
Loved that place! Very cosy!Delicious food at reasonable prices with very polite staff.Just make sure you come before or after 3pm, as they change their coal and you won’t be able to order any grilled dishes.
The interior of restaurant is quite morden but comfortable, the main dish is nice and dessert is exquisite with mulit taste inside.
Great dinner on our last night in Riga. Charming, welcoming decoration led into a delicious meal. The seared salmon, rabbit soup, and grilled chicken were all very tasty. Everything well presented. Called it off with a complimentary treat made from chocolate and nuts that was insanely good.
Ill tell you what I didnt like about this place first.Nothing.Theres nothing we didnt enjoy here.As we stepped in, the open , warm ambience was welcoming. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The vegetarian options were plenty and the food was exceptional. The produce was farm fresh and so pure our taste buds were singing! The best lunch we had in Riga !Im sure our server was astonished by the amount of food we kept ordering. The mango chia seed pudding was fabulous. We called for one. Then we called for another.
Great Riga Restaurant. Did not have a reservation, but staff arranged a table for me. Good and efficient service. Excellent Food. Took a Rabbit soup, Lamb and sour cream creme brule for desert.
Fabulous experience and so glad we booked. No photos as sometimes its nice to go out and just enjoy good food! Cosy restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. The food was delicious and generous portion sizes, not often I cant squeeze in dessert!
Great food and service! I mentioned to the staff that it was a birthday dinner and they brought us free dessert with candles!
Nice place! I went here with my girlfriend. Weve ordered 2 rabit soups, and a turkey salad. All for 23.5 Euros. The food was decent as well as the service. The place has a nice creative design. The only trouble with the whole experience was that the rabit soup tasted like chicken, and most probably was chicken. Overall - good.
We went there for lunch just before they changed the grill coal for the day, so just made in time to order the last grill dishes before dinner time. Both duck and fish were good.
Best restaurant in Riga I have visited. Took mostly what was recommended on todays menu. Very busy place so it is highly recommended to book table beforehand. Everything was perfect truly 5star. Price was ok less than 100€ for two and full menu with wine.
Very nice food, pure, fresh tastes!
Great place, tasty & innovative food, friendly service (way above the average), highly recommended for breakfast. Eggs Benedict with salmon and avocado were a satisfying choice.
Very fresh and delicious. Pumpkin cream soup and a salad with quail eggs and smoked cod-divine. No room for dessert but that looked great too. Nice interior, cozy with good service.
Scrumptious! Great Service! Reasonable Prices! Cute, cute, cute decor - gets a 10 for Creative Use of Egg Cartons! I went vegetarian here with Pumpkin Soup, and "pumpkin soup" doesnt begin to explain this soup. My hubby had the cold beetroot soup, and it nearly brought him to tears remembering his great aunts and uncles - so "authentic" comes to mind. It nearly brought me to tears too thinking that I couldnt eat his soup as well as mine! Next up I had the vegan bowl of courgettes and lentils. So flavorful and dense, I didnt miss meat and was stuffed at the end. My Hubby had a cod salad - again the word salad isnt fully discriptive. Greens, and radishes, and veggies, and fish and a delightful dressing. So filling that he didnt finish - and usually he is a bottomless pit! Great restaurant. Somewhat small menu that covers all the basic bases, but terrific specials augment with seasonal gems. Also, pricing is mid-range although the food is high-end! Dont miss it!
Very delicious food and cozy restaurant, unfortunately the waitress has a bad attitude and we didn’t feel welcome at all.
Totally amazing, both food and service! So coming back again.
All the products are produced by local farmers in Latvia. Organic dishes with extremely fair prices, a dinner with the most expensive steak on the menu, starter, a bottle of red wine, dessert, black balsm shots would cost you and a friend totally about 115 euros (definitely value for money with the tip). Friendly service as well as all of them were there to see the customers leave happy.Do follow them on Instagram and one of my favourite picks of Riga 🇱🇻.
Absolutely fantastic food! Every dish was well balanced. Not one flavour was overruled by another. Especially the duck breast wasnt overwhelmed by a overly strong truffel flavour. From the starters to mains all the way to the deserts, everything was absolutely perfect. Oh yeah, and they have one of the most beautiful toilets Ive ever seen in a restaurant. Great job, on the original interior design!
Lovely place, decent staff and a great menu.
This breakfast was sooo delicious!!! It really made my day. The staff was also very friendly and nice.
A wonderful little restaurant in the city center. Cosy atmosphere with interesting decor details. Delicious food and very nice staff.
The kind of place where the menu is small but every dish is done with perfection and served with class. You can enjoy a variety of beef, pork, fish or vegetarian with a large choice of international wine. Dont forget to enjoy their creative deserts and to put the gloves to eat your burger!
Very good food with amazing special plates that are not on the menu. The staff was very knowledgeable about the wines and pairing with the ordered dishes. I suggest the lemon tart as a desert - not too sweet and not too lemony, the combination with the foam on top makes it for a perfect finish to an amazing evening.
Wonderful food with a local twist. The restaurant hade a good atmosphere and interested personal in service. The dishes were well combined and weighted when it come to taste and size. The interior design were interesting and a thing to talk about.
We had a fantastic breakfast. Enjoyed tasting dishes, that really gave you a good start on the morning. They use local, fresh and good products.
Looked around for a special place for our first dinner in Riga and selected Riits, an email later we had our reservation and we walked about 2.5 kilometers from our hotel and of course we passed a lot of places on our way to the restaurant, but I must say I am so glad we did. Service, food, wine everything was really great. It is a shorter menu and maybe everything is not available on the menu. The place is a bit on the smaller side and crazy popular. We decided on sharing a few starters and then we wanted the burgers. They where made to perfection, regardless if you choose medium or medium well they were made perfect. Service is impeccable and we will be back for sure. Thanks for a great experience.
Absolutely fantastic. The service was attentive, friendly and quick. The food was absolutely delicious, with a emphasis on traditional Latvian food with modern flare. Definitely a place to stop by if you’re in town. If you go early you can probably get a table without a reservation.
We came here a party of 15 people. We had a set menu with a selection of main courses.Service was okay, which was the reason for 2 stars. For starter we had several different courses which was okay. But the quale eggs was over cooked and grainy. It didnt ruin the experience but the following did.For main I had over cooked lamb with beans. They served the same carrot pure with the main as the starter cold blend and boring! There was no sauce but a BBQ which lacked flavor and did not compliment the beansThe bomb dropped when they served the dessert. They presented it as a creme brûlée with a Latvian twist creme fraiche. It was over cooked to the point where scrambled eggs was an understatement. It event felt cheesy and nasty. The worst Falck was that there was no caramelized sugar I had one scoop. We all sent it back.Wine was fine they only had 4 reds on the cardIm not coming back, nor would I recumbent it to others.I find it hard to believe they made the white guide.
Good salmon altough burger had not so great meat.
The food is tasty here. The staff told me the ingredients are all organic which from the local farmers. The organic food is good for health. The ingredients from the local is environment friendly. If you also agree those idea, I will strongly recommend you to visit Riits. By the way, make a reservation before to make sure its available. It look modern and cozy inside. There is a wall full of box of eggs, its very unique. I had great time here. If I visit Riga, I definitely will come to here again.
Food are very nice in this restaurant. Tried the steak and awesome! The fish soup was alright, with plenty of seafood inside the soup.
Good food, nice place and people !
I was slightly disappointed with Riits. Dont get me wrong, its a lovely looking restaurant, the staff were nice and the food was good but it was just a bit- meh. Nothing to rave about. My husband enjoyed his meat meal more, my fish was very plain. Although it was perfectly nice I think the hype online is a bit much as it wouldnt be the top of my list to recommend
After 12 hours flight, 3 hours cruise ride, 4 hours drive, we arrived Riga hungry. I was particularly impressed with the decorations and interior designs. 2-3pm wasn’t their busy period but I loved the quiet and choice of songs. Particularly for people who like chill atmosphere and a nice talk with your partner. He chose pork ribs with barley (usual menuand I had duck leg confit (from their daily special menu). We also had the Latvia’s appetiser which was quails eggs salad of sort. We thought the salad was okay, not sure why it was “Latvians” but we do notice Estonians and Finnish don’t really have quails eggs in their diet. His comments on his pork ribs— excellent pork ribs and good value for money. Especially the bed of barley rice was presented.I noticed his meat peel off smoothly from his meat. It’s the kind of peel with smoke oozing out from the bones and meat.Same with my duck! ☺️☺️☺️We were particularly impressed with the sauces. Very Asian style, Peking ducking kind of marinate. It’s cute. The fusion is surprisingly delightful. I recommend this timing for a quiet afternoon and their sparkling wine to go with your dish.Updated: SURPRISE! They surprised us with a homemake cookie 🍪 just before we left! It was sweet 🙂
Love the soup. Veggie choice and Dessert was really good
Simple, yet delicious food - one of the best steaks. Good cooking from quality ingredients. Service was good, but maybe a tad slow. Not a problem if you re enjoying a good wine in the mean time. Somehow left me a small, cozy NYC restaurant vibes when it comes to atmosphere.
Products that are produced by local farmers is what you can find at Riits, the contemporary Latvian restaurant located in the center of Riga. With organic products brought daily by Latvian farmers, they know how to prepare and serve the freshest organic food in the city.My friend and I enjoyed dinner on a weekday evening, and she suggested we sit by the window to enjoy the warm evening light. The restaurant design has a real cozy feel, with soft cushions on the chairs and a great display of wooden tables. The atmosphere is laid-back and relaxed, the perfect vibe.We shared our starters, each delicious in their own way. I loved the vegetarian snack with asparagus, “Eggs Benedict”, hard cheese, mixed leaves, Béarnaise sauce and croutons. All the textures and flavour blended perfectly together. My friend chose the Latvian-style snack of sprats, potatoes, quail eggs, cream cheese and spring onions, saying the mix of the vegetables were the perfect match with the eggs. For my main dish I had the veal steak with bone, green asparagus, grilled vegetables. The steak melted in my mouth, while the mix of complimentary flavors was delightful. My friend opted for the perch fillet, grilled vegetables, pickled red onions, tomato-olive salsa, and she was very happy with her choice. For dessert, we just had to try the seasonal berries, crumble, with“Riits” whipped cream. Amazing, especially when paired with the “Riits” chocolate dessert made of chocolate, ice cream, caramel and nuts.It was a great evening at Riits, and I’d highly recommend the experience to everyone.
Wow. Food, service, atmosphere. We loved everything here. Steak was just perfect. We highly recommend this place for dinner.
+ nice location+ good location, a lot of nice cafés around+ only a few meals, daily offers+ good relation between price and quality+ nice design, creative furniture- service could be more friendly
