Rita's Kitchen - Breakfast restaurant in Redding, United States
I always love the little local places to eat!!!
This place is a hidden gem. The best priced breakfast and lunch place around. Their chicken fried steak is the absolute best in town as well as their pastrami reuben. I am gradually making my way through their menu and nothing has been a let down. Its also under new ownership and they are a super nice couple. Wish ya the best of luck. GIVE THEM A TRY. You wont be disappointed!!
Delicious food and friendly service! Stopped through on our road trip Oregon. Will definitely stop again.
When life began in the year of our lord 2016, there was the toilet paper apocalypse or TP apocalypse for short, its became known as the "New White Gold", it reached a point where old bittys were trading TP for Burger King cheeseburgers (based on a true story), in those days people were desperate for the new white gold, one day Karen bought up the world supply and when the diarrhea kicked in, people were rubbing their azzs on karen front lawn, karen married her best friend Gary, Gary hmm what can be said umm Gary shes a good man or husband to Karen, Garys also the first male to give physical natural birth sense the beginning of time 2016, Karen got her property through her white reparations, karen and Gary need to stop leaving their eco friendly dietary supplemental monthly Sasquatch pads lying around, they stink and smell like dirty crab farts,
Stayed late and let us eat after a hard road trip! Very sweet and went above and beyond to give us a great break from the stress! Nice AC and food was delicious!
Randomly stoped in and I’ll be back! Fun local spot. Owner operated. Great service and food. I hear the French Dip is a big winner so that’s next on my list. NEW MANAGEMENT.
Cool vibe but no healthy options. I liked it but it’s a greasy spoon type of place.
Awesome breakfast! Everything was fantastic. Very yummy and decent portions. Definitely worth coming back!
Awesome food great prices and wonderful service
New owners that gave us a tasty breakfast and the warmest welcome. Visit this quaint Cafe. We will be back. Love from BC Canada
Amazing food and great service. Fast friendly service.
Perfect breakfast vibe. The food was great with a good price. Its rare to find great food paired with service, this place has it. Try it out.
Good food under new ownership a little pricey and relatively small portions but was not hungry after breakfast and food was good enough to not need any ketchup or anything else staff/ owners were polite and it was cleaner then in the past inside I will go be going back again however not often lets see if the new owners keep it up or give up like the previous owners because they have great potential and I would like to see them thrive
Was sad to hear about the previous owners selling it! Favorite place in town! Just heard about new owners so havent tried it just yet, cant wait to though! Hoping they will still have the steak and egg breakfast 😍
What a treat to meet the new owners of Rita’s Kitchen yesterday! The food was scrumptious & the joy of new ownership palpable. We just happened on this little breakfast place on a road trip south. I think we might even go out of our way to eat there on the way home! It’s the best taste of American life- the food, the dream of a young couple cooking together at a Mom & Pop place & the regular customers enjoying solid (and deliciousmeals. I think you’d love it like we did.
First time eating their and it was great. Informed that it was new owners but the food was still amazing and everyone was super attentive. The biscuits and gravy was super delicious. The prices are great compared to other breakfast spots in town.
The prices are very good the food is yummy but the service is most excellent
I ordered A breakfast burrito and fries, was doing laundry next door and forgot. They knew and didnt get me. I gave a$ 5 dollar tip on a $12 order. Was at the door at 1:00. They already closed no one there. Well lets see what happens tomorrow. That was my 1st time trying them. Been told they were good, diffinatly not in customer service 🙄.
Very small restaurant BUT the BEST BREAKFAST. I’ve had in a very long time.
Great food, great staff. The current owner is retiring and the new owner is very nice. Its a small place with limited seating but worth the wait. We will miss our friends when they retire.
If you have not gone here you need to go here this place has one of the best priced and best tasting steak and eggs breakfasts small hole in the wall places in redding 4 table diner great customer service awesome food steak is amazing hashbrowns are really good there jams are good as well really all there food also chicken fried steak home made try it as well
The waitress was really nice.I think we are going to wait for the new owners to take over, before we go back.
Great food, the home fries with breakfast were cooked perfect. This place is way better than any national big chain restaurant.
great prices, GREAT FOOD!!! loved the oakie scramble - the service was awesome and friendly. ☺️
My family and I loved this restaurant. We were looking for something local and this worked out great. The food was tasty and inexpensive. We especially liked the fry bread.
This is a small little place with great food like grandma used to make! The ladies there are also friendly. We would definitely go back.
I am always on the look out for a quaint or local breakfast spot that is a hidden gem. This was not that. Very small only 4 tables. Lets start with the food. Eggs over easy were cooked well. But the house potatoes could have been cooked more. The chicken fried steak was so under cooked I kept having to spit out the parts I couldnt chew and finally gave up. There was nothing crispy about the chicken fried steak. I give them credit for a good English muffin and jam that was a little different. When I went to pay I saw the condition of the cooking area and almost gagged. The counter area was stacked with supplies and any number of things couldnt identify. I will not be going back.
Met my brother there from out of town.Had trouble finding place. Its very small 4-5 tables. Good food. Cook 1 meal at a time. Slow service. Probably wont go back.
Excellent breakfast, the best omelette I’ve ever had. Good vibes and friendly service. Nothing fancy, better than expected.
This place is unforgettable. Its just a hole in the wall. However, the people who run it are AMAZING. All customers treated with a smile and food is prepared with love I think. Thats why its so tasty. The service comes with a smile. The place also has a local character. Even a stingy person like me could not help leaving a huge tip- thats how good this place is....
Great little diner! Has a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and the food quality and portions are a great value. Worth coming back!
I found this little diner on Google and was craving some good old fashioned breakfast and it did not disappoint. Everything was cooked perfectly to my liking. The mini cakes were the best pancakes Ive ever had. If you live in the area or are just visiting, this is the place yo go.
I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was not fried and it was soggy and everything was bland with no flavor. Never going back! I had one bite of the potatoes and chicken fried steak and told her I didn’t want it and she said she took off the chicken fried steak but my bill was 12.05! I said chicken fried steak is supposed to be fried and she said other places do it in the fryer but they don’t! What is that?!
This place has the best biscuits and gravy in the world I absolutely love this place with a passion I have gone here since I was little and I still go here to this day if you want high quality food this is the place to go
The restaurant is a cute lil place, 4 booths and 1 table. We were greeted immediately by a very friendly staff. I had the chicken fried steak and it was fabulous. The portions are generous, the food exceptional and the prices reasonable. I highly recommend Ritas!
Rita cooked our delicious food while she was in the middle of giving an tv interview for a raffle. She was raising $$ for a family in need. Why I gave 5 stars: 1.the lively banter and atmosphere 2. the perfect pancakes and French toast, and 3.the fact that another customer ran out to us in the parking lot to bring my daughters hat. This place is the embodiment of a local gem of a restaurant. Will be back! Thanks Rita! Its clear that your food is full of love.
Wow the food is excellent, really fast also. Its a home cooked meal. Thank you very much Rita and staff. Keep supporting our local business, please try this diner.
Great service. I loved it when the cook came over and took my order, then cooked the meal herself. The food delicious. Guess the waitress was out sick
The food is Amazing. Our waitress was Amazing and caring. She was a true waitress. We need more waitresses like her. The food was amazing. The portions are big for the prices. I love it.
The reviews are on spot! Huge portions of good food. Country potatoes done perfectly. It’s small and looks a bit sketch, but the staff are super nice and and the breakfast will make you come back.
An amazing hole in a wall diner. The owner (Ritaand others behind the counter know all the regulars by name. The food is cooked in front of you and tastes amazing (far superior to many posher breakfast places in Redding we tried so far)
Wonderful place to get a quick delicious bite. Went for breakfast and shared the chicken fried steak with eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. Big portions enough to share. Service was very nice. Love the cozy comforting atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Probably the best greasy spoon Diner in Redding. Her corned beef hash for breakfast is second to none. In the service is exemplary. Its kind of small, so you got to get there early. It is well worth a try.
This place is that typical little hole in the wall that was really great for breakfast! Very down-to-earth service and people. Food was delicious. Coffee was good to I will definitely go back.
Amazing diner with a great vibe. Classic dishes. Friendly service. Agreeable prices. What more do we need?
WOW!! So happy we found this place. Literally, we passed it up because as in other reviews its a little hole in the wall. We were greeted immediately with a warning that it could take up to 30 minutes to get food ordered and up, but they had coffee and we had time to wait. I saw the Oakie and knew I wanted that, my man saw the build your own fried egg sandwich. Once we ordered it took about 12 minutes to get our food. The first bite was perfect! The gravy on my Oakie was so creamy and flavorful. It had the right amount of flavor/spice it wasnt greasy it was just soooo GOOD! The potatoes were salted right, they were a bit crisp on the outside and soft inside the way breakfast potatoes should be. Oh my gosh! I was so happy to eat there! The Oakie portion was BIG! Im a good eater, but my man and I could have shared it. His sandwich was equally tasty. With sausage, grilled mushroom and onions, tomato and egg on sourdough bread. His comment, "this is something I would make". Homecooked breakfast, but someone else did the work! This place is old but clean, small and friendly. Its definitely a dive but what a SPLASH! Check it out!
I had the biscuits and gravy with sausage. They were all right the gravy had a strong pepper flavor. The sausages were really good. The service was all right
Very friendly and welcoming staff. The food was pretty good greasy spoon style food. The biscuits and gravy was little in flavored required salt and pepper. The portions were big. Decent food but probably wont go back.
We eat here religiously. One of the best spots to eat in Redding. The oakie scramble and the French toast are super yummy. The food tastes homemade and friendly costumer service too! If you don’t eat here you’re missing out! (:
Absolutely great little hole-in-the-wall diner! The service was excellent and friendly, the coffee was perfect and not bitter like other restaurants...and the food was delicious! I ordered the Oakie Scramble and the potatoes were crispy, the onions and peppers were fresh-NOT frozen, and the gravy was perfectly seasoned and it all came together beautifully. I will definitely be back and will be recommending this place to my out of town visitors!!
