Ristorante Zaytuna in Palermo

We saw this restaurant after the one we wanted to go for closed, and we are glad we did. The seafood was fresh, portions were generous, the chef and the owners were very lovely. We like that the restaurant is very local and authentic, not touristy like many others in the area. Will come back to this place on my next trip to Palermo

A gestione familiare si presenta diverso da altri ristoranti tunisini provato. La signora che “incoccia” il cous cous ne parla volentieri ai clienti interessati e mostra un amore speciale per ciò che fa. Il sapore dei piatti è gustoso e non da la sensazione di essere modificato ad uso del palato locale. Da provare assolutamente.

Very nice family owned restaurant, the owners are lovely, and the dishes are fantastic! This place is the go-to if youre a bit tired of pizza and pasta. The tunisian appetizer mix and the lamb coucous were exquisite. I dont even like lamb, but this was so well-made, Im reconsidering my stance :)

Il 13 agosto ho cenato con la mia famiglia presso questo ristorantino nel cuore di Palermo, è stata un’esperienza entusiasmante per la qualità del cibo, l’accoglienza e l’atmosfera. Torneremo sicuramente. Ottimo il rapporto qualità-prezzo.

Locale semplice ma accogliente , proprietari cortesi e simpatici, mangiato brik classica e con gamberi ottime, cous cous di pesce super con sughetto a parte ottimo.Ci tornerò anche domani sera.

Superb food. Especially recommend the chicken tagine, but everything else we had was absolutely delicious, too. Very reasonably priced. Nice spot in a great neighborhood also, at the bottom of mercato da capo. (Afterwards: there is the worlds best ice cream, no foolin, on Via Candelai a few blocks in the direction of Via Maqueda/the sea, Dolce Capo.)

Buongiorno ieri sera con la mia amica siamo andati a cenare in questo ristorante nel cuore di Palermo. Io che amo la cucina tunisina e la conosco abbastanza bene che dire una grande scoperta era da tanto che non mi capitava di emozionarmi attraverso il cibo. Tutto buonissimo i sapori originali il couscous più buono che abbia mai mangiato, i brick di una bonta assoluta, lantipasto tunisino eccezionale.... Sembrava di essere in un altro posto... Viaggiare attraverso il cibo ho provato proprio questo. Personale gentilissimo, ci siamo trovati molto bene e presto ritorneremo. Grazie per questa esperienza.

Cortese e gentilissima la proprietaria ho apprezzato molto l umiltà nel proporsi e la genuinità del cibo. Antipasto tunisino delizioso, brik il migliore che abbia mai mangiato, cous cous buono in tutto e per tutto. Grazie veramente.

Couscous carne and the tajine pollo were delicious! Quite terrace away from the crowds. A great option.

unfortunately due to the extreme rudeness of the young lady who works there, we got up and left the restaurant before we ordered anything. Until now, I have never experienced that someone has no will to serve guests, I dont need extreme attention, thats why I came to the family restaurant, but her rudeness and insolence was below the shocking level

Tutto molto buono e condito dal garbo, dalla dolcezza e dal sorriso della proprietaria. Abbiamo riso insieme sulla incapacità di mio marito di mangiare piccante e abbiamo chiacchierato piacevolmente con la figlia, apparentemente burbera invece simpaticissima!!!!

In pieno Mercato del Capo, un posto semplicissimo, ma....SI MANGIA DA DIO!!! abbiamo provato soltanto piatti Tunisini (ovviamenteed erano STREPITOSI! CousCous conciato a mano, brodino buonissimo, pieno di pesce, il CousCous più buono finora mangiato;Le signore, madre e figlia, persone gentilissime e premurose...insomma una gran bella esperienza che ripeteremo certamente. Provatelo!

Ristorante tunisino a conduzione familiare, offre una cucina tunisina casalinga 100%. Abbiamo provato lantipasto tunisino, il cuscus di pesce ed il tajine di pollo. Colori, odori e sapori tipici della cucina maghrebina, hanno reso la cena buona ed interessante. Servizio cordiale ed accogliente grazie alla gentilezza della signora che consiglia e intrattiene il cliente. Contesto piacevole e rapporto qualità prezzo molto buono.

Locale a gestione familiare molto accogliente. Piatti abbondanti e saporiti. Cous cous consigliato. Nel complesso è stata una piacevole esperienza. I proprietari deliziosi, ci hanno fatto sentire a casa. Torneremo sicuramente.

This place is a delight - one of the best meals I enjoyed in Sicily (and the standards there are dauntingly high). While the restaurant doesnt necessarily cater for take-out, they graciously accommodated that request, and put together a stunning pescatarian meal. A rich, flavorful couscous, a stunningly good piece of fish, and a large selection of vegetarian appetizers that Ive never had anywhere else. If youre in Sicily you might pause before trying something that is "not Italian," but youd be doing yourself a disservice and missing a really wonderful meal.

In Sicilia da un giorno, ieri volevamo assolutamente mangiare del vero cous cous. Attirati dalle recensioni positive, ci siamo fermati in questo angolo tunisino nel pieno centro di Palermo. Che dire... unesperienza splendida! Il ristorantino è estremamente curato, pulito ed accogliente così come i proprietari (mamma, papà e deliziosa figlia dal nome incantevole ma che a lei non piace ,😊), persone genuine che si trovano difficilmente ormai, con la passione per il proprio lavoro e la cura dellospite, per loro sacro. Il cous cous di pesce era davvero delizioso. DELIZIOSO! Oltre che abbondante. Saporito ma delicato, servito con ottimo e abbondante pesce fresco.Abbiamo avuto la fortuna di conoscere queste belle persone che si sono intrattenute con noi a chiacchiere per quasi 2 ore ed è stato davvero piacevole oltre che interessante. La padrona di "casa" è una donna sensibile e forte nello stesso tempo, saggia e dolce, con un sorriso che rasserena con il cosmo. Anche gli occhi le sorridono. Il papà è un uomo simpatico e di spirito, gentile ed accogliente. La deliziosa figlia una ragazza sveglia e dolce, bella senza sapere di esserlo.Se leggerete questa recensione, vi consiglio vivamente di andare in questo angolo di pace e delizie e forse, come noi, oltre allottimo cibo, troverete anche altro di altrettanto "buono" da riportare a casa con voi.Un grazie speciale ai nostri ospiti, che pensiamo di tornare a trovare prima che la vacanza in Sicilia finisca.

Incredible family owned restaurant. Very well priced. Multi lingual (Arabic, French, English, Italian, …). Extremely delicious. Simple menu. I recommend this place to absolutely everyone.

Very relaxed little family business with delicious, fresh and very affordable Tunisian food. We sat outside in the courtyard which was shaded and quiet. Very friendly service:)

Jolie et sympathique décourte de ce restaurant famillial.Les spaghettis alle scolgio sont les meilleurs que j’ai jamais mangé et le couscous végétarien est simplement un délice avec une sauce à part que l’on peut ajouter:)

It’s authentic family run places like this that make Sicily worth visiting. Be sure to try the home made limoncello.

We were the only guests that evening and the owners were incredibly nice and accommodating. Spaghetti as well as couscous was very tasty.

Buonissimi gli antispasti ed assortiti. Gentilissimi i proprietari nel spiegare tutti o piatti che si mangiano. Alcune pietanze , come il cous cous risultavano poso saporite. Forse per adattare il sapore a tutti i gusti. Ma il risultato è scarso. Buone le paste.

We were passing by and liked the look of Zaytuna. Cool, space between the tables, onviting room and excellent music that the chef/owner was listening to from the kitchen.As it was quiet we had a chance to discuss the menu and he suggested we have the Tunisian antipasti and the cous cous with seafood.The antipasti were lovely and we were glad we had dropped a dish as we were well fed by the end of the cous cous.The lady (ownerwho looked after us was also very pleasant.A very good choice for our lunch.
