Ristorante Porto romano - Seafood restaurant in Vatican City, Vatican City
Great place to eat seafood and pasta! The salmon was perfectly cooked! Same with the sea bass in the spicy salad. As for the amadriciana di mare, I dont have words! It had my mouth drooling! Its wines are really good!! Everything was perfect! Its a place with an identity! I would definitely come back!
This place was awful. It is very overpriced for what you are served. My experience was terrible. The pasta we got cacio de pepe had an overwhelming smell of vomit, it was so off putting. Staff are rude and inattentive. Genuinely one of the worst places I have eaten at in Rome. To top it off the bill came to 40 euros for fish and chips, vomit pasta and two cokes.
No frill place, it was early enough in the evening so it was not crowded, orders the Alici frito, fried Anchovies, it was fresh, tasty and just like I thought it would be. The fish and chips was great and very well seasoned. Try this place.
No frills simple and efficient, it was early enough so no crowd, had the fried anchovies. Tasty, crisp and very good
I love it . Their carbonara was amazing . My favourite is the friend anchovies though . Staff has good energy too . I came here every day for the friend anchovies .
What a find! Local food and delicious... we had the lunch buffet for 12€. So glad we found this place right across from our hotel too. Good value 👏
Delicious lunch menu option. 12 euro for one plate pp and bottle of water.
Great idea for the Buffet, but it would be nice if we had the chance to get the food ourselves. But 12 Euro for a Buffet is not bad at all.
Nice and helpful staff. Very delicious sea food and had no issues at all.
Yellow fin tuna with pistachio crust was amazing!! Super fast and lovely service!
Super friendly service, lovely and cosy atmosphere. I highly recommend the mixed plate. It was delicious!
Unfortunately, our order was given to the table that sat after us. The lady customer stared at our pasta and later (2-3 minutestold the waiter that it wasn’t her dish. We saw her partner squeeze the lemon and try our fried squid, anchovies, etc dish. Later (4-5 minutesthey also told the waiter that that wasn’t what they ordered. The waiter took the dishes around the corner and I chased after them to make sure they didn’t give us plates tried by other customers. The waiters and a manager were discussing the matter when I caught up to him and to my surprise, the waiter proceeded to walk to my table and serve the two dishes. We told them no and said we’ll pay for the wine and leave.I would say, two of the waiters were apologetic and offered a reorder. We didn’t want to wait another 30 minutes so we passed on the offer. When we got the check, it was shockingly for the full amount and we were told we’d have to explain it to the manager. The waiter came over to explain the situation and the manager apologized and I paid for the wine and water.Honestly, we had two issues with our waiters. 1. Our initial waiter who was busy on his phone and placed our order against the wrong table and 2. Being served a dish that another customer ate.
We visited on a Friday night and the restaurant was busy. We sat outside and there were seating available inside too. Nice selection of seafood dishes available to choose from. Food tasted really good. Food and drinks were reasonably priced. Friendly customer service. Woul visit again.
Absolutely 5 stars. Delicious foods, cheap and friendly. It costed us 15-20 Euros each, and we were all very happy. We went there twice. The first time, they offer me free beer because we waited for a little bit long, and the 2nd time, they offered me a free typical Italian spirit because we came back. They really care about customers.
Food high quality, price is fair. Our food came a bit late so they offered us free home made chips , beer and bottle of water. Very decent. We have been to four restaurants near Vatican and this is the best so far.
Reasonable prices and delicious food. I ordered a Fish Salad and Tiramisu
Highly recommend! The food is wonderful and services is quite nice! Go there and try it !
Nice place near Vatican! Lunch hours till 3pm, you pay 10 euro and you can eat how much you want from whole a lot of food😁
Really good fish dishes and fast service.
Absolutely great place for sea food, fair pricing and good location. We have been to 4 cities in Italy and this is the best for quality and pricing out of all we tried.
The food was cooked wonderfully, fresh and tasty! The theme and atmosphere was very cozy and authenticly navy-inspired with attention to details. The staff was very nice and big-hearted to us, very attentive and even offered us some useful tourist information, even though theyre not obliged to. Were thankful for the wonderful service and the food at the end of a long day of touring around town!
The best buffet in ROME,price is good, all you can eat,I am vegetarian, tons of food for me.
tasty 😋 food !!! and nice prizes 👍🏻
Brilliant little spot... With classic British style cod and beautiful home made chips with a vinegar sauce, the best Ive had, even needed to get another portion ! 5 star service, we were looked after increadibly well by Enrique and Alessandro. Thank you boys for making a Brit feel right at home, well be back when we are next in town.
Just randomly found that nice place in Rome, with very good lunch buffet. Wide selection of meat, fish and vegetable foods. I would suggest to visit :)
We visited Rome in May, 2018 for our 25th anniversary! I found this restaurant looking around the area on Google Maps. We gave it a try and were very pleased with the atmosphere, service, food, variety and value! For 9 euros you be lucky to do better. (Not sure if the price has changed since we were there?Go hungry after a morning’s walking the sites. You will NOT be disappointed!
This place was recommended to us by our friend for its outstanding buffet style luncheon. We were pleasantly surprised by the buffet offering despite the fact that we are still in the middle of the pandemic. The guys take extra precautions cleaning and serving us. Excellent choices of food with attentive service make this a must-go restaurant while in Rome. Highly recommend.
Cheap and nice restaurant with lovely atmosphere and lunch buffet for 9€ only. There was ana Egyptian guy working there who was very helpful and very welcoming .
Grazie 😀We went there a few times last year when visiting Rome. This time we went for a thank you dinner with our friend who helped us move to the neighborhood. The waiters give good advice - and they served a superb plate of mixed seafood appetizers which our friend enjoyed even more, because we live(d1000km from the nearest sea shore => no such bounty back where we come from.La pasta was amazing, too.I dont eat much myself, but the two 1m89 guys who shlepped boxes and furniture for 1000km and up two floors without a lift were perfectly happy with the servings sizes.Ill be back 😀PS : I like the "Respect the sea" written on the teams clothing. My Trash Hero heart got all warm and fuzzy 🐙🐟🦐
Cosy athmosphere, good beer and alici grilled. Its simple and noisy, like a port taverna. Lively and lovely, of course! In fish and chips dish, chips were very good, but for fish I recamang grilled alici.
They have a €10 lunch buffet (includes waterfull of great food - healthy options too. No other extra charges.
We were there twice. Really recommend this place if somebody likes sea food at a reasonable price close to the Vatican and was no was not cheated. Really recommend this ppace
Great food for good price. The waiter was super nice to us. We had delicious wine, pasta and salad. I can just recommend.
Food are great and the staff are super friendly! We asked which brand of proseco are they serving and they just refilled one full glass in front of us!! WOW effect. Highly recommended.
We let the chef handle the menu selection for our group and he took care of us with a large selection of seafood prepared differently. It was fantastic, great swordfish. If you like seafood, youll love this atmosphere.
Beautiful restaurant with authentic dishes and great prices. The service was very fast and place is frequented by many locals. Great central location, that is far enough from the tourist bussle to provide for a relaxing dinner. I had fish and chips and they were top notch. Would 100% recommend the place to anyone looking for authentic neighborhood restaurant.
Food was good (tuna very goodbut the service was extremly slow and forgot about our drinks. We got food without forks and knives. Price aprox. 12-14 eur/dish
We went there two nights in a row. Food is superb. Love the alici fritte (fried anchovies). The prawns, the branzino & tuna were cooked well. Its a busy place. The servers are extremely good.Best of all, the price is right.
The buffet for 9 € is absolutely amazing. Lots of vegetables, fish and meat, plenty of fresh salad. Beautifully arranged, go visit if you are near!
Great atmosphere, good food, cant complain! Weve discovered sharing a main dish and an appetizer works for us. The calamari had flavor, but could be improved upon. The seafood pasta however finished us off. Portion size appears small, but very filling.
Had fish n chips.(from UKChips are crisps over here. Fish good, batter nice, sauce taste of lemon but nice. Worth a visit.
Fantastic seafood dishes! Good drinks, and desserts. Nice stuff, friendly place. Awesome design and enterior. Good prices also! Definietly recommended for tourists and locals too. The best seafood restaurant ive ever been too! Even my plate was so beautiful!
The place is perfect for lunch. It was a 9€ Swedish buffet with all kinds of food. Rice, schnitzel, chicken, salad, potatoes, spaghetti and much more. The place is very beautifully designed. It gives a very old school navy vibe. Not only is the food amazing, the people working there were very nice. The deserts are very healthy and delicious. I hope more and more people find out about it, because for me it was my best experience in Rome
A good place for dinner. Tasty food (try fillet of turbot and carbonara with fish), good beer and reasonable prices. Attentive service. Very beautiful interior with lots of details. The only unpleasant thing is that this place is closed from 3 to 7:30 pm, but it’s typical for Italy.
We had an all you can eat buffet for a very reasonable price, with a bottle of water included. Usually at this all you can eat restaurants the drink are a bit mire expensive so they can cover the price of the food, but here the drinks were very reasonably priced as well, the staff were very friendly and always at our service. The restaurant had a very good vibe going on, so all in all a very good experience, definitely will go back there.
Excellent service very well prepared seafood dishes at very reasonable prices. Overall an excellent value.
Really good fish. Almost all of it is fresh. We went for dinner and we found everything very good. As I know they do really good deal for lunch time, they do buffet at fixed price. Service should be improved. You be better speak Italian as they do not speak English
The food here was delicious. We got the lunch buffet all the food was great. Really good to come if you want to follow your taste buds a little without ordering a while plate.
Quaint seafood restaurant with excellent dishes. Perfect portions and fun environment. Staff was helpful and the food was great.
Great place with affordable dishes! For our stay in Rome, we went here twice and ordered the seafood salad the first time, which was exquisite, and the second time we ordered the carbonara and the shrimp salad. Everything was fresh and super tasty! The staff is nice also.
