Ristorante La Falterona in Florence

We had an unbelievably good meal today at Trattoria Falterona. Bistecca Alla Fiorentino was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and every bite was a delight. All our other meals (particularly the millefoglie and chicken with white wine saucewere spectacular. The desserts were varied and had strong, delicious flavours

Friendly service and good food. Would recommend the eggplant pasta and their steaks!

Avoid - Scammers!The food was not great, service very slow and unwilling (we asked for the bill three times and 15 mins later got a desert menu instead). But the biggest surprise of it all was when we got the bill. 3 dishes we ordered had HIGHER prices on the bill than on the menu. I couldn’t believe it. They resisted but changed them in the end after a conversation where all of a sudden their English became not as good as it was just a minute ago but no apology, nothing.Unbelievable.

Very delicious and authentic dining experience. They were quite accommodating, and provided my traveling friends and me with one of the most delicious cuts of meat weve ever had. An excellent spot to consider going to try the famous Florentine Steak.I also wanted to note that our server, whose name I have forgotten but whom I believe was the son of the owner, did an excellent job. He was very funny and excellent at English, but was also willing to help us work on our Italian. Thank you very much, La Falterona!

We ate lunch here before our train. A charming spot near the crowded Mercado centrale with delectable traditional bites. We enjoyed a number of their pastas and anything with truffle.The wait staff were extremely kind and accommodating. Making a tiny plate of simple spaghetti for one of our group’s 10 months old. His first plate!

Food was good, we tried the chicken breast with white wine sauce and the very soft and tender, the shrimp pasta was well cooked and flavoured perfectly. Loved the Tiramisu the dessert was not too sweet, to my liking. It’s located also very close the Florence central market and easily accessible. The staff is also very courteous and helpful.

Food is good but if you eat outside at night, as the restaurant is just next to the big Mercato, the street is very noisy with the itinerant vendors which make rounds trips with their « stands caravans »Tuna tartar is a little expensive for what is inside the plateThe rest of the food was tasty

Me and my wife had menu for 2 person. It was included salami as starter, Bistecca alla Fiorentina as main course, two glass of Chianti wine, a bottle of water and a fruit salad. It costs 80€ in total and considering the taste of the meat, it worth it.We were a bit in a rush and had to leave quickly but they were able to give our fruit salad as take away.

Good food! But I think most rarings around city center seems quite high. Friendly staff, but Nothing special. The red Wine was super good!

The location of this restaurant is good. it is centrally located. The place has a quiet vibe. Servers are experienced and professional. Wine list is long and extensive. For two people, we ordered an appetizer, first and second course, bottle of wine, and desert paid around 125€. This includes a 1.4 Kg bistecca alla fiorentina and potatoes for two. Food tasted excellent and service was fast. I would say that value for money given the location and taste. Check pictures.

Very quiet and high quality food. The staff is so nice and had a nice chat with us, perfect recommendations for digestives from their side. The food was perfect and fresh.Overall: a nice little island in the middle of the tourist ocean…. :-)

Lovely food and people. We ate the classics and we’re not disappointed. They were kind enough to split our dishes without asking so we could enjoy all our bites together. Excellent showmanship for the bistecca alla Florentina, remarkable experience for this dish beginning to end.

This restaurant is very racist. Do not go there if you are of colour. You will not be accepted.I presented them with three seperate cards to pay the bill, all of which got declined due to connection error. We had been using the cards throughout the day and there were no issues. I then had to take cash out to pay for the bill. From the outset I knew they werent going to accept my card and they were being very difficult. The food is ok not fantastic so would not bother.Not recommended!

Stopped in for lunch after taking in the duomo. We both had black truffle pasta dishes. It was very good. The capressi dish was delicious! We sat outside and enjoyed a leisurely lunch with wine and Pelegríno in the shade.

Firenze steak was definitely worth it. Pasta , salads and starters were ok. Service was great!

Appetiser was good (eggplant with cheese). Tbone steak was awesome, Full of herb favor. Serving was also good.

The restaurant was full of tourist, but thats not unusual since the food here is absolutely amazing!Weve had several Florentine steaks in our week in Firenze, and this was by far the best. The pasta at this place was also amazing - one of the best Ive had in my life.Id definitely revisit this place the next time Im in town.

We had a Tbone steak, they definitely cheated on the weight , they have charged us for 1.3kg but this steak was not more then 700gr. We ordered medium but it has been medium rare. The rest was OK

We had a wonderful dinner here. Great atmosphere, attentive servers. The food was exceptional, especially the desserts. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Been in Florence for five days and won’t say that I’m an expert, but after eating at some pretty great places here and throughout my life, I can say that this was up there as pretty amazing. The berry crusted filet mignon was crazy good. The bottles of wine were about the same price as glasses at other fancy places. But the best part was enjoying it on the sidewalk with a waiter who felt like a family member. He kind of looks like Stanley Tucci too 😆

Far too expensive for what it offers... We ate pasta... It tasted and smelled like ready sauce in jars sold in markets. The salad was a ready mix from the bag. The waiter girl was very kind though.. P.S. I had never seen a toilet with window right at the kitchen before..🤔

We came because of the good feedbacks. Nothing special! For the price we expected better food but also service. We ordered octopus, mussels and chocolate souffle. The best was the wine (rose Ruffino), the food was not more than 2⭐.

Warning, high cover charge of €2.50 per person. They even charge a cover for small children. Most of the restaurants in the area are €1.50 and do not charge for small children. The portions were small for the price. Not recommended.

We came here to taste the famous Florentine steak and it was absolutely worth it. The service was friendly and top quality. Can highly recommend 👌

The dinner was great, tasty, especially the octopus appetizer, and its great that they had a Burrello by the glass. I’m not giving 5 stars however due to slow service, otherwise I would! :)

There is only one toilette ans same for woman and men.Long service time....

I have to say that I did have a good time here. Nice staff, excellent service, good food. It just seems that the food served here is not in the traditional Italian style. Cannot judge about it since I am not native; however, it didn’t give a surprise comparing with other Italian restaurants in Italy.

Five of us had dinner last night, service and food were both amazing. Everything was homemade, appetizers were delicious, you can order two for 5 people and it would be plenty. Steak was amazing along homemade pasta. Highly recommend it.

THE BEST RESTAURANT in Firenze!!It was my first time in Firenze and this restaurant is the one I would definitely go back.Waiters were all welcoming and super nice!Food was also amazing! Only downside was it took little bit longer to get the food around 45min.. but in Italy, it’s pretty normal and eventually it’s worth of waiting!

Went there with another couple and had a great time. We ordered their 1kg steak (specialityand shared it with 2 pastas. Service was excellent. Price is not too bad. Pressecco welcome drinks was a bonus.

We visited here because of the other reviews and we weren’t disappointed. We shared the T-Bone steak and it was beautifully cooked. Somehow, we managed room for desert and my husband had the chocolate soufflé and I had the tiramisu and both were delicious. By far, the best meal we have had in Italy! Would highly recommend!

This place is homemade food style. I tried many fancy restaurants in Florence, a lot of them there are not a homemade menu but something else that adapted from Italian food. Im in Italy now and I want to experience a real italian food menu. My dinner was perfect, I had what I was looking for and ended with homemade chocolate cake. Very good service , friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Perfect 👍 - fantastic service, great location and amazing food. If I may I highly recommend "fresh papardelle with wild boar meat sauce" and "fresh paccheri with Chianina beef sauce". Both were amazing. Great atmosphere too. Truly on of the best restaurants we visited while traveling through Italy.

Lovely family owned restaurant close to the market. Service first class. Food simple but fresh clearly cooked to order and remarkably good. Some unusual dishes that clearly work. An excellent range on the wine list with an unexpected availability of good 375cl bottles . Great night

Perfetto so delicious and amazing service the best you could have in Firanze. They have very good truffle and lot of choices. Very friendly staff and enjoyable outdoor seating. We had a table outside for lunch and was great lunch.

Nice lunch sat outside. Nice fresh Buschcetta, Good pasta and house wine. Service was ok. All in all a nice lunch.

Beside the famous T-back Steak, we also tried the duck breast, it is sooooo good. Even though the side like mash potato is excellence. We will come back to try different dishes.

The food is delicious. Yes, the salads are simple, but what simpleton orders a salad here? Came twice with my pregnant wife. Service was excellent. The pastas a elegant and simple, beef is top notch, and drink the wine!

Great meal experience tonight. Service was excellent and we left very happy. Butter and truffle pasta was fresh and not too overpowering and the almond crusted beef filet with port reduction was delicious! Not the cheapest meal in town but we would definitely return.
