Borgo S. Jacopo, 62/R, 50125 Firenze FI, Italy, Florence
Ristorante Borgo San Jacopo - in Florence, Italy
We already came here in 2018 and we havent remembered how good was this restaurant. All the ingredients are reunited to have a wonderful moment. The place is unique, with a superb view on Ponte Vecchio and Arno River. The personnel is super kind and professional. The cuisine is extremely well done. No matter what you order, it can be vegetables, fish, meat or pasta, everything is very tasty.
Lovely restaurant.. nice ambiance, enjoyed food , wine .Lovely and kind staff…must visit in Florence
Best restaurant ever!! Great staff and food! We ordered the tasting menu which was more than amazing. We also had mojitos and was the best mojito I had so far. I would love to travel to Florence just to eat here.
Everything about this restaurant was excellent. It is a nice place with tasteful decoration and a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is more than kind and is always there to respond to any request. We made the reservation and were pleased to know there was no dress code, so we could wear our comfy shoes and shorts in this hot weather. The food was delicious from beginning to end, and the 4 step experience included several extra surprises which we loved. I appreciated a lot the fact that the chef had prepared a pescatarian 4 course menu as well as a vegetarian one. Overall a perfect experience. Very much deserving of more than one Michelin star.
Esperienza di alto livello. Sono stato a cena con mia moglie. Tutto assolutamente al top. Cucina ottima con materie prime pregiate e servizio impeccabile. Grande accoglienza. Consigliatissimo
Posto meraviglioso e personale incredibilmente gentile.
Arrivando in fondo lho trovato monotono e finito a forza.
Reservation needed.Excellent food and service.
One of my favorite restaurants in Florence. Just had another great meal here.
Bellissima esperienza culinaria.
A true culinary experience. First off, it is immediately apparent the food is made from fresh and deliciously prepared ingredients, combining a variety of styles from throughout the Mediterranean while still having a core of Tuscan cuisine. Equally amazing was the kind and knowledgeable waitstaff: whether the history of a wines vineyard and grape variety, or the perfect pairing, they were available and experts in the available offerings, which were delicious and plentiful, without being overwhelming. I cannot recommend enough the tastings menus with accompanied wines, as a perfect meal size with a variety of dishes.
Incredible place for Florentine steak. Superb wine as well.
The seasonal tasting menu (Summer’s in the Airwas delectable - very balanced dishes, great plating, and the right amount of food. Outdoor seating is the way to go, so make reservations early! Shout-out to the wait staff and the sommelier Salvatore Biscotti.
Delicious food!
We enjoy the restaurant and the menu was ok. We are very thankful to our sommelier, who give us a very good choice of red wine. The services was very goodWhat we didnt like very much was that if you order a full menu it cant be shared with nobody. We have been in others Michelin stars restaurants and never get this situation
Ci siamo proprio divertiti. L’astice buonissimo.
Per me TOP. 10 E LODE. COMPLIMENTI VERAMENTE...
This place is amazing! We went there to celebrate my birthday and I couldnt have been happier! From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave you feel the love and passion that goes into each detail. We had the Autumn tasting menu with corresponding wines. Each dish was a treat! They look and taste the part. The wine pairings were on point and really completed the dishes. The waitress who was helping was GREAT! Shes funny and witty and speaks 4 languages :-Absolutely fabulous!
The service was uneven, with odd pauses between dishes, some taking a lot longer than expected, and little attention paid to drinks. The food was good but not as creative as expected of a Michelin Star restaurant (especially compared to others in the area - would recommend La Leggenda dei Frati for a cheaper, better experience). The atmosphere was lovely, and they were kind enough to let us sit in the terrace which has absolutely gorgeous views of the Ponte Vecchio, but overall did not make up for the lack in other areas or the price tag.
Great food and staff!
- Great food, but everything we ordered was too creamy.- Sommelier helped me to find a bottle of primitivo even though they are very proud of their Tuscan wine. Definitely very happy about it because I love zin!- You need to take a look at the paintings they have in the hall. You will be surprised by the painters.- Staff were busy and can’t really have a conversation with you.Overall, price on the higher end for a Michelin 1 star, but worth it.
Great food, great experience. Had a table on the balcony.
Very good service and environment. It is pricey but that is to be expected for Michelin one star standard food. We had a good experience, love the presentation and the taste. However, some didnt quite suit our palate but that was just a personal preference.
Great Michelin food.
Great fine dining experience. The staff was very attentive and also helpful to select the right dishes and pair wines. We felt welcome and the atmosphere was warm. The food was excellently prepared and prseneted. Portions were also satisfying. Several experimental dishes from the kitchen in between our courses was fun and exciting.
Food is excellent. Staff are friendly. Highly recommended!
Our 3th visit. And again as perfect as ever! Thank you chef and the Borgo San Jacopo team. Its always a pleasure to come to Florence this way.
Everything in the restaurant was amazing, from the food to the staff. The place is super cozy. It is a bit expensive but the prices are in accordance with the service and food you get.
Had a pleasant evening full of different flavours and tastes. Thanks for the special touch of wishing my boyfriend "Happy Birthday" :)
For a Michelin starred restaurant the service was good but not impeccable. At time it felt a bit confused and sloppy. As for the food... it was nicely presented, orginal, but unfortunately the flavors (the most importantwere not consitant. Only 2 of the 7 dishes were decent. Overall I did not have a good dinner experience there and I do not think this restaurant deserves its Michelin star. It is a pricey restaurant, count 200 euros per person for a tasting menu with 2 glasses of wine. The views of Ponte vecchio are amazing though!
Went here based on reviews online and for their Michellin star. Wasnt impressed with the food. I would prefer to go to a place where the locals go. This wasnt it and pricey.
Paraphrasing Shirley Bassey I could start with "where do I begin, to tell the story of how great a meal can be?", because its not easy to write about the extraordinary experience that we have had at Borgo San Jacopo.Lets start with the food, we tried the Experience and the My Tuscan tasting menus. Its really hard to tell how great these dishes were, because you really have to try these flavours and textures, presented in a way that for some of the dishes is nothing short of a form of art. (Ill add pictures so that you can judge). Peter Brunel is a painter (and a sublime chef).A mention goes to the interior, clean, contemporary, with a beautiful balcony over the Arno river and nice paintings from the Ferragamo private collection. Music is nice and not too loud, creates a very relaxed mood.Lastly, but by any means NOT secondary at all: great place and great food comes to nothing if there isnt a great team on the floor, and I cannot stress enough the marvellous job that Mrs. Claudia (restaurant manager), the Mr.Salvatore (sommelierand the waiters team did (I apologize I did not ask their names but they did a great job).We felt at home, but at the same time they were not "oppressive", they explained the dishes in a very detailed manner, making sure that we understood how to eat the food in the right order to maximise the flavours and the experience. Wines were incredibly nice, lots of interesting vintages from Tuscany but also some beautiful selections from abroad (the pink champagne was a true gem).We spent three hours in the restaurant and when we finished the meal we looked at our watches, and we were surprised that so much time passed and we did not realize it.What more can I say? Go. Try it. Be open minded to the dishes that will arrive, you are not going to "just" eat, you are going on a trip that touches many senses.
Atomsphere- elegant. Interior. River view at evening transcends like a movie scene as sitting on 2nd floor by window.Food- As foodie who appreciate crusine art from various cultures, probably the worst dining experience we been to recent years. We tried both “Experience” and “Tuscany” menu. “Experience” despite eye catching evokes not sure about memory in mouth given mixture of extremely strong taste, very salty! We could hardly have third spoons of risotto and too much sauce ruining other dishes. Piglet and prawn is only ok dish. “Tuscany” tries for a twist from local ingredients but plain.Service- Initial service was good but lack of attention to details. They took back the very salty rissoto dishes but replacing cheese caviar which was still very salty due to the sauce. We were expecting simple explaining how issues would be handled but in the end it would require our constant attention. Dining speed was very slow. Not sure what was going on withthe manager as she simply did not ask for our feedback and comment. Not how a Michelin star restaurant would acted..
Absolutely the best Michelin Restaurant I have Tried in Florence. The location Is very close ti Pontevecchio, from their little terrace you can have a dinner on the river, feeling the breeze, the lights and the colours of the City.Peter Brunel Is an Amazing chef. Thats the point. I have Tried all his creations and I was not disappointed with One of them. I am a food Photographer and I Tried plates from many Michelin Starred Chefs.. he Is my favorite.
My favorite part of this restaurant was the overall attention to service given by all employees. When you reserve, you basically get the table for the night ... without being rushed over courses youre allowed to take your time and go as fast or certainly as slow as you would like. The room is very comfortable although it is a bit stuffy downstairs and only two seats in the whole house get a good view of the river. The menu offered didnt really appeal to me all that much and if given the choice I would happily go back to other Michelin starred restaurants in Florence instead of a return visit here. Check out my list for the others!
Amazing restaurant, great menu with many incredible flavors of the toscana region. The attention is flawless and the wine selection is varied. It is small but with great views of ponte vecchio.
Beautiful room, great food, and first class service. The risotto was exquisite! Highly recommended.
The food wasnt good. It is supposed to be modern Tuscan cuisine but the result was really poor. I tried the Ortaggi "vegetables" menu and I was really disappointed. I was expecting more from a Michelin star restaurant.
Terrace view is one of best restaurant in Firenze. Good wine choice and detail of food is good things here. But somthing is little sad of courses. Great atmosphere !! Romantic!!
comes rico
We had a brilliant meal here. Well-prepared rib eye with chips and salad topped by a lovely and generous chocolate mousse. Friendly staff and nice dark atmosphere, who were comfortable seating two walk-ins with no warning on a Saturday night.
Best in The town!!!
